Opinions de El Ranchito Dallas
My first time at El Ranchito was a blast! I’m a big fan of nachos, and these were especially delicious because the beef was incredibly tender. I just have to try pozole at any place that serves it! It was also fantastic. I enjoyed sitting at the bar, where I received excellent service and still managed to catch the mariachi music in the main dining area.
Jasmine is the kindest server! It's always a delicious experience at El Ranchito. Enjoyed the weekly special and a happy hour with my beautiful wife.
Had a great time here for my mom's birthday. Food was great I had the Cabrito plate, only the rice was little dry to my liking. But overall it was great.
Great mexican food and cultural atmosphere with live mariachi on demand. Reminded me of lovely Mexico 🇲🇽 Visited on a Saturday evening, food and service was great. Only challenge was finding parking as it was limited during our visit. Highly recommend for good food and a great time with friends and family.
Made a reservation over the phone for a party of 22. I wasn't able to make it online for that many guest. The 2 waiters were great they were very friendly, attentive and fast. To be honest I was expecting for the food to take a while since it was a large party but the food came out in a very reasonable time. We brought the birthday cake and they were able to hold it in the kitchen till we needed it. The only disappointing part was we were expecting to get mariachi to play some songs and found out the mariachi doesn't show up till at least 6pm and our reservation was at 4. That's ok we'll keep that in mind for out next visit. Oh! And if your curious how much there songs are ? They are $25 now🤑😳. Our experience was great didn't have any complaints on this particular visit I highly recommend dropping by with your next large gathering .
The service was great. This is my second time here. They had a pozole special today and it was great. The refried beans are excellent. The tortillas are being made fresh in-house. We came early tonight because the place gets packed!!! They also have mariachis later in the evening. Added perk on some Saturday and Sunday nights all the old cars are cruisin and parked on the strip.
This place is bomb! My hubby and I luv the beef enchiladas and lately the Caldo de Pollo soup. It was so flavorful and full of veggies 🥕 potatoes 🥔 and zucchini and a whole chicken wing and drumstick in it …literally a bowl of heaven! I needed this in this cold weather and while feeling a little under this allergies and it helped me. The customer service is top tier and they even served complimentary rice pudding which was my first time and tasted great!
Bravo Mexico 🇲🇽- this is an exciting Mexican place to celebrate the good foods together with live musicians who come to your table to help make your evening explode with fun and joy. Fajitas were generous but rather dry. Chilli con carne was great. Service was very attentive. The decors ambience was fantastic and our family felt like touring Mexico - Bravo 🤩
The food and atmosphere are quintessentially Oak Cliff! Many evenings, a mariachi band wonders the room! The same family owns the nearby La Calle Doce restaurant. The building was designed by famed architect Charles Dilbeck for the original tenant, Dallas-famous Red Bryan's Smokehouse.
El Ranchito is one of the old line of restaurants in Dallas, where multiple generations of families have made this Jefferson Blvd. spot for years and can argue over their favorite dishes. El Ranchito specializes in Northern Mexico food, where goat has a place of honor on the menu, beyond the typical Tex Mex combo platters. We had birria tacos and caldo de Pollo. The caldo was packed with chicken and lots of carrots and Calabasas, but frankly the broth could have been better. The corn tortillas were some of the best in Dallas. The birria tacos were wonderful, with generous portions of shredded beef and griddled cheese in each. Pintos were outstanding, the rice nicely cooked. Consomme was a bit salty. Seating was prompt with no wait, at the end of Sunday lunch rush, and service was wonderful. If you have not visited, pay El Ranchito a visit for terrific regional food and warm service. Prices during lunch were around $20/person.
A stable of the community since 1983. Best Tex-Mex in town hands down. Bring cash to pay for Mariachi songs , the real deal. Great overall experience. Highly recommend. Enjoy!
I was amazed by the fact that this restaurant made their tortillas in house. The food is served fresh, hot, delicious, and the customer service is very hospitable. The overall vibe is pleasant, upbeat , and the prices are reasonable. This restaurant can easily be the go to spot for delicious Mexican cuisine.
Love coming here! The food is good and the service is always friendly. The last time I went, I got the special - the fried fish was good! There are different areas and rooms, so that keeps it interesting getting to sit in different places each time I visit. They have mariachis, which adds culture and a fun experience. Me encanta!!
Oak Cliff....great area of Dallas and great places to eat. Want some authentic Mexican food with great atmosphere and excellent service? Then here, El Ranchito restaurant is where it's at! Anytime of the day! But evenings is where the music comes from outside to inside the venue.....live Mariachi music! And to your table for a fee or just listen to it when others pay instead..😁. Either way it's great to hear traditional Mexican music. Yes..they do requests as well. Highly recommend. Just cover the ears of the little ones cause it can be loud....📯📯🎺🎺🪇🪇🪗🪗🥁🥁🎶🎶🎶🎻🎻🎧 update for 10/13/24....stopped in for lunch and had my usual..love it!
We’ve eaten at the Oak Cliff location and it never disappoints. Fresh, hot, very good quality Mexican food with full portions and decent pricing. Tip: their lunch specials are mostly $9.95 and it’s a full-size meal. Their homemade lemonade and horchata are each some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Service is on point and cook times have always been very fast. Another tip: order a side of fresh tortillas so you can make soft tacos.
We used to go to El Ranchito almost every week. We haven't been in about 10 years because we moved. We decided to do lunch today. It was just as good as it used to be. I got the tacos Al Carbon lun…
So good, recommend for a good night out with the fam and great for big parties with 30+ people love the chicken fajitas

A little bit of a wait but the food was worth the wait. Service was great! They kept the chips and salsa coming and our drinks full. They weren't stingy with the liquor either. My margarita was pop…
They were able to seat our table of 20 the food has such big portions and there was even live music. And the staff was super nice and bilingual.
our meals were good, when we were seated it took a little time before they brought water, chips and took our drink order.
Ive been here several times and I'm never disappointed. We went during lunch and were quickly seated. Our waitress was Ahydee and she checked on us every so often. We had the milenesa which was bigger than I expected and fajitas, both were great. The only downside is the parking lot is small and tight. Other than that I would definitely recommend this restaurant and in my option is one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Dallas.
Jan. 04, 2024- The shrimp tacos, rice, and veggies were okay. I would have liked a little bit of flavor. Everyone else enjoyed their food. The service was great and our server was attentive. Everything was delicious and the service was great. I'm sooo stuffed. Luckily we missed the rush , because they were super busy. Mon.-02/20/2023-My food was delicious, I had a medium Caldo de Pollo. I would actually consider the portion a small not a medium. Hubby had the Quiso Picoso and he did not like it at all. The taste was mediocre and the Quiso was greasy. He was not satisfied with the portions as well, with that being said $18.95 was too much. The staff and our waitress did a great job. They also have a nice bar. I really love the music and vibe here👍

We enjoy the service, ambience, flavor and portions a\nat El Ranchito. Some of our favorite dudes are guiso, mollejas, parrillada, chips and salsa.

Great space. Lots of famous people come here. Lots of tables. Good, live mariachi music. Food wasn't impressive. Lacked flavor and freshness. Salsa was really good (la picosa). And our waiter wasn't the best. He continued to pass plates and items over my head. Leaning over our shoulders without even saying 'excuse me' or comment (leaning on us physically).
Thought we would try a sit down Mexican restaurant near where we were staying for the week. The atmosphere and service were great. We ordered chicken fajitas and honestly they weren’t that good. When they brought the fajitas out they weren’t even sizzling or even hot for that matter. I was surprised. The onions were almost raw and few peppers. The chicken had no flavor and tasted weird. I was very very disappointed. The other couple ordered steak fajitas and their plate was sizzling but the onions still looked uncooked. So…. I personally don’t think I would come back.
The parking is difficult, but manageable. It was busy but they still managed to give us great service. The waitress didn’t rush us at all. My plate, Tablitas, needed some seasoning. But my family had the QuesaBirrias, and the Cabrito were great. The bathrooms were clean. The ambiance was nice. There were people performing songs, but there is a charge, fyi, but they played well.

The food was just okay, but the staff were sweet. I came in with really high expectations because of how busy it is all the time but overall it was okay.
Food was bland. price definitely did not reflect the food. Very bland for a authentic Mexican restaurant
I came here for happy hour and it is slow. Yet the service is bad. I worked in the past for over 10 years so I know what good service is. When you have to ask for another drink and another refill of salsa, you are not receiving good service. And she has passed me by twice and made eye contact , but still has not come up to ask if I would like to have a another margarita. That's bad service. So I was going to get another margarita , but I decide to go somewhere else
This place was disgusting with rude waiters. \nWe were the first ones to get to the dinner party and yes they served the chips and salsa but did not ask us once if we needed a drink. \nAbout 30-40 …

Went in Monday late afternoon and was disappointed in the taste of the Charo Beans, refried beans and rice. My rice and tortillas came to me very lukewarm. I told my Mom later that night and she happened to go there on Sunday that I wasn’t aware of. She told men her tablita was hard and that her rice was cold too. Which reminded me how hard the meat in my tablita was on Monday as well. Unfortunately I don’t get how people pay for this mediocre Mexican food. The service was good though. Ignacio is a good waiter.
AVOID THIS PLACE. Went here for a friend’s birthday dinner and had some of the WORST food and service ever! We had an area reserved for the dinner so when we arrived we were seated without a problem. Of course we arrived before our friend since we were going to surprise her but once we were seated they never came back to check on us. We had to wait over 30 minutes for them to give us a simple basket of chips and salsa and not even ask if we’d like drinks. They waited until everyone showed up to hand out menu’s and asked right away what we wanted to drink without giving us the chance to look it over. The waiter seemed bother by the fact that we were there! I asked for two Fantas, one for me and one for my oldest daughter, and he asked me again what I wanted. He was really upset that I wasn’t getting a beer. I wonder if he always tries to force men to get beer! Once he came back with the drinks, he slammed them down on the table and got spilt some ON MY DAUGHTER. Now I wasn’t going to make a scene, since we were there to celebrate someone, so I let it go. Our experience there just kept getting worse and worse. We ordered a Mexican burger and some extra fries. When the food came out I completely DISLIKED this place! THE WORST FOOD I’VE EVER HAD!! The food was DISGUSTING! The fries were cold, soggy, and without flavor. The burger, which they charge another $7 just for adding a SINGLE piece of ham, tasted so horrible. Now again I didn’t want to ruin our friend’s celebration so I didn’t say anything. If it wasn’t for the fact that I didn’t want to give them free money, I would have not ate that burger. Luckily we had cut it in half to split it. We didn’t want to get more food since the service was already horrible so the food would probably come out just as bad. We did say that if we were wrong then we’d get more food. But man did they prove us right! The burger tasted how a nasty used public restroom smells. Like if they had decided to cook or prepare it in their restroom. SO BAD, we had to get something else after to get that taste out of our mouths. They didn’t even bother to ask if we wanted refills. And for all these reasons we didn’t leave a tip! If you want some good food and service, this ain’t the place. I’m not sure how they have so many 5 star recent reviews. I’d give them 0 stars if I could.
Melted plastic coated my $40 baby goat dinner because the waiter left a knife with a plastic handle (see photos) stuffed between the meal and the "grill" that it's served on. Meal ruined, I only ate the beans, rice, veggies that came on a separate place. No apology, tried to not even give a discount for the ruined portion of the meal.
