Opinions de Haystack Burgers & Barley Dallas
Restaurant was clean and while its not large, it had a good feel. The food was great, from my kids burgers and tenders, to the Haystack burger. My chicken sandwich was huge and meaty. It was a great value.
The fried chicken tenders salad is an excellent choice. The ranch dressing tastes like the “ranch” I remember from my childhood. The Haystack onions are crispy and thin. If they didn’t come on the salad, I’d get them as a side. There is plenty of seating indoors and outside. We sat at the bar. The chairs were a bit heavy and the seat itself felt narrow. The service is friendly and prompt. We miss the location on Turtle Creek. Haystack is so good we make the drive over to Lakewood.
Wow!!! If you are looking for a juicy fresh burger, this is the spot. Got the haystack burger and I am not disappointed. Fried pickles are not too salty like most places and the drink was generous. The place is a laid back uptown spot with outside patio space and they got sports on tv. The cashier was friendly and the food deliver guys were as well. I definitely will be coming back. ☺️ this burger exceeded my expectations.
A friend told me about Haystack Burgers and Barley. This place is really great. Burgers are always fresh and full of flavor as well as juicy as a burger can be. Ingredients are always fresh and crispy. The doping sauces are just amazing. A little bit spicy but just enough kick to make your taste buds go crazy. The fries. The fried pickles are amazing, crunchy, and well seasoned. You can have them with the dipping sauces or just plain they're so good. Staff is great, very helpful & friendly. Had a little trouble ordering but the cashier was amazing he reccomend a couple burgers. Which we did ended up getting! He did not disappoint with the recommendations. Had about 7-9 different kinds or beers all which were small batch and small business breweries around the metroplex. Great place to get your burger with the family. Definitely recommend this place.
Amazing place if you’re looking for a chill, friendly neighborhood burger spot! They have plenty of options for all! While I initially came to try some hamburgers, my eye was set on the country fried steak sandwich, because who can resist a country fried steak with gravy and bacon on a burger? I was not disappointed and look forward to my next meal there!
First time here, definitely enjoyed the food and the nice vibes. Very attentive staff! Had the “down on the farm haystack” beef burger, and the “ Lindsey’s haystack sandwich ” which can with turkey bacon and ham. Both were delish, will be coming back to try more menu items. Nice hidden gem
Super accommodating!!! I wanted to work with a dog in a public place but obviously wasn’t going to go in to order food so I called them and placed my order and then I proceeded to the patio with the dog and they brought my food and water out in short order. I wanted something quick so got the club sandwich without the bread and it was fresh the bacon was perfectly cooked with some crunch but not over done. And my dog was amazing while I ate.
Much like the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, we need to remember one rule at Haystack Burgers & Barley in Dallas: Always carry a towel. I, myself made this mistake, of not grabbing one of the insanely large napkins as I made my way to my table outside and believe me, the decision was regretted. Never the less, the review was done! So, when I went to Haystack, it was a very open, and brightly lit space which seemed refreshing in the light of their farm-themed menus. I was able to place my order at the counter within minutes of arrival and I ordered the Escabeche Burger and the Kennebek Fries. These fries were perfect fries. Not mushy, but fluffy insides with a crisp outer shell created from the frying process. The Kennebek seasoning hit the spot! The Escabeche Burger was wonderful, it wasn’t necessarily the largest burger I have ever eaten, but it does rank among some of the bigger burgers in the area. It was a thick, juicy patty with decent sear. The bacon didn’t destroy my teeth or pull the sandwich apart and the jalapeños and onions really played their part in a wonderful mingling of flavors. I have to say that these are some of the best ingredients I’ve tasted and each item on this sandwich had an extremely loud flavor behind it, nothing was lost on my tongue as I ate it. Overall, if you’re looking for an extremely satisfying burger with fresh, explosive ingredients, give Haystack a try. They definitely use top-notch combinations and don’t forget the rule, always carry a towel! 5/5 If you would like to read more reviews about DFW's amazing local burger shops, look us up on Facebook (@BurgerByteDFW), Instagram (@BurgerByteDFW), and Twitter (@ByteDFW) #DFWBurgers #GoodEats #Foodie #DFWFoodie #Burger #Burgers #DallasBurger #DallasBurgers #DallasFoodie #FortWorthBurger #FortWorthBurgers #FortWorthFoodie #DFWBurger #ShopLocal #ShopDFW #SupportLocal
Easily climbing to the top of our favorite burger spot in Dallas. Great atmosphere, great staff and just a great no frills comfortable burger joint. We come often with our dog so we love the patio on beautiful days. The Escabeche Burger is a must! I haven’t tried any other :) My husband enjoys the Haystack and their Taos Chicken sandwich is full of flavor. Always order the fries! And here they offer onion string and French fry combos, so good. Bar has great local beers on tap. We can’t wait to be back.
These burgers are delicious, with consistently fresh-tasting meat. They offer a delightful variety of burgers, salads, and sandwiches. The sides are also scrumptious, and you can choose a half-and-half option for your sides.
Omg! The Bacon Bleu cheese burger with Jalapenos was ecstasy!! Thanks for the cajun fries, beers, and a beautiful day outside with the family! 🤩❤️🙌🍻💥 Until we meet again Haystack!!
We love the veggie burgers and sweet potato chips. The kitchen staff is extra careful to mark items with gluten. I had ordered a burger with a gluten free bun. They put onion rings that are usually on it in a separate container and labeled it. Excellent service!

The fig + goat is so good, always great service. Great drinks too, staff is friendly and attentive. Thank you Chris & David!
WARNING: The bbq sauce contains bacon. They need to disclose that on the menu. My friend doesn't eat pork and was a bit upset when he found out. The burgers here are thick and good. The El Tren burger is great with Haystack Onions. If you get the Half/Half keep in mind they are the Haystack Onions and not onion rings.
Came here for Sunday lunch with a friend and we thoroughly enjoyed the food! The restaurant is located within a shopping center with plenty of parking. There’s a small bar situated in the center of the restaurant so we seated ourselves there. We both ordered mimosas and they were delicious! Later on, I ordered the Haymaker but it was a tad bit sweet for my taste. We started out with the chips and guacamole which came with salsa. This was your standard dip and nothing too fancy about it. For burgers, I ordered the Down on the Farm add mushrooms and my friend ordered the Double Bourbon Bacon Jam burger. We added a side of fries which was enough to share. The burgers were huge and delicious! It’s definitely enough for leftovers but no shame if you finish it all. I will definitely come back to this location to try out their other food items and drinks.
I really wanted to like Haystack more than I did. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot going for it. The bar is loaded with options, the tap list is strong, and the signature burgers are good. However, there are some obvious things that need to be addressed. My burger shouldn't bleed everywhere and pour out grease. I didn't order beef stew. The fries are good, but I don't need two potatoes worth of fries in a single basket. They should reduce the portion which would likely spare a lot of waste and save them money. If you're with a friend or more then one basket is probably fine. So it's a good spot to eat, but I know it could be better.

Boss lady and I ordered to-go. I ordered the goat cheese and fig burger... fabulous! (I don't use that word often) The meat was cooked medium, and the toppings made an amazing bight each time. She had the regular burger with bacon, really good! The 50/50 fries onion ring combo would have tasted better eaten in-house. The joint is like a fish bowl with two walls with windows everywhere. You would think they'd keep the place cleaner.
This is the location on Mockingbird/Abrams. I ordered a basic hamburger and fries and it was good. Interestingly they have cloth napkins. Service was less than expected, tables were not cleaned up fast enough for the volume of foot traffice. Ended up sitting at the bar. Less attention to details and the customer which may be attributed to inexperienced younger staff. Inside seating is small, crowded and very noisy.

The stuffed jalapeños were canned jalapeños and tiny. My burger was raw and lacking flavor. Wouldn’t recommend it- spent $70 for 2 adult burgers and a kids meal with 1 beer.

Sub par airport food. None of the tables were cleaned. I wasn’t given a Napkin and there was nowhere to take any off a counter. I had to climb behind the bar to find one. And they still have a “tip prompt” on the iPad where you pay. I would not recommend

There is nothing more disappointing than getting a takeout order and arriving home only to find out you do not have what you ordered. Not only were the orders incorrect but the fries were extra salty and overcooked. $5 for inedible fries. And the burger was one of the driest, most tasteless burgers I have ever had in my life. I am looking at this 4.4 rating and thinking 🤔 I guess this was an off day? Well we won't be going back to find out. $30 plus dollars for garbage 🗑
