Traditional place to have breakfast. The place is run by kind ladies. I ordered the huevos rancheros and they were good. I would definitely need to come back to try their lunch.
Old school Mexican Restaurant Vibe. Drove by and saw lady that looked like my abuelita as the servers and I knew the place was gonna be good. And it definitely did not disappoint its like nostalgia of old school mexican breakfast with the whole family. Definitely recommend tacos and menudo was good.
Great place to have breakfast. One of the gems of Bishop Art district. I love this family run Mexican place. Everyone is very nice.
So happy we stopped in El Jordan for breakfast/brunch. Ordered bacon omelette, breakfast burrito, and menudo for 2 people - all under $30 total. Big portions (note: the breakfast burrito is more of a snack and priced as such). Great homey atmosphere and friendly service. Feels very home cooked. Ask for spicy red sauce if you can handle some heat. Definitely recommend!
It has the feeling of a small town cafe on the square and the food to match. I ordered two eggs over medium which they came out. Exactly that way, two sausage patties, and two pancakes and all was tasty. The eggs already had salt on them so if you don’t like a lot of salt, you might ask them to hold the salt (I don’t salt my eggs - just pepper) My server was probably in my top five ever of being the most friendly. The prices were incredibly reasonable, and I can highly recommend this place for a good basic breakfast. If I come back, I will definitely try a breakfast burrito.
Authentic Mexican breakfast. Breakfast burritos are a decent size. Breakfast special for my daughter included pancakes very affordable. Chips and salsa provided. Salsa was fresh and not too spicy. We had the Horchata which was amazing. I would return just to order the drink again. Definitely recommend this location for breakfast.
Great spot for quick, tasty, and very affordable Mexican food. Small cafe setup, service was friendly, and food came out quick. The chips and salsa came out first and the chips were still warm. We had the huevos rancheros, migas a la mexicana and horchata. The horchata is delicious and served in a giant cup. Would definitely come back for a weekend breakfast.
Fast, friendly and tasty! It's my favorite breakfast spot! The staff is extremely nice and attentive. The tortillas are always served hot and the food is very consistent!
I arrived at 6:40 AM. Our trusted Google maps info matched the hours on the door Open: 6:30, yet the door was locked. A gentleman looked up from the Kitchen as if to say oops, time got away from me. He quickly made his way to the door and opened with a friendly Ola. He quickly went to the back to pour me a cup of coffee while the other person I'll call "Kitchen Lady" and I looked over the menu. She says if I order the breakfast burritos I'll need 3 or 4 due to their size. Omlette sounded good so I asked if they could make a Spanish Omlette even though it wasn't in the menu. See Senior, anything you want. Spanish Omlette it is -- OR SO I thought. When the to go box arrived kitchen Lady opened the box with a flare and a "see", I was introduced to the prettiest and what I would soon find out -- the best Spinatch Omlette I have ever tasted. Yes, you read right, I said Spinatch, not Spanish --oops. The language barrier however worked to my advantage this time. I'm glad I decided to pass by the Cafe Brazil on my way to the new, best experience with a Spinatch Omlette I've ever had compliments of the Bishop Arts District. Meal complete with potatoes , Refried beans, corn or flour tortillas, and homemade Salsa. Wheel Chair accessible but not automatic. Handicapped parking is hard to find. El Jordan was. Real find for this lover of Mexican food. I hope to return for lunch or dinner one day. Great job. Friendly attitude and cooking skills more than made up for the mild language barrier.
I’ve been coming here for the past 8 years. It has become a staple for me. I come at least once a month. Menudo is really good. Everything is made fresh. If you want a home cook meal, this is the place.
If you’re craving truly authentic, soul-satisfying Mexican food, look no further than this gem. From the moment we walked in, the family spirit showed in every detail; warm greetings, cozy vibes, and that sense of real pride in every dish. The service was excellent: attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and genuinely caring. The coffee is actually outstanding; bold, smooth, just right. And the food… amazing. Every bite tasted pure, honest, and full of heart. This is one of those hidden treasures that reminds you what real food is all about. Highly, highly recommended. I’ll absolutely be back.
Every single time I come here, the customer service is impeccable, the food is freshly made and delicious, and the staff really make you feel Like family.
Been coming here forever. Parking sucks, best if you go at an off-time. Food is good, wonderful service, good prices. Real homey Mexican eats.
This was one of the finest BBQ experiences I’ve ever had. It’s rare - especially when you *live* in Texas, to find BBQ that you RAVE about, but I have to write this review in order for everyone to understand what they have here. First, the great: the bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños (loaded with pulled pork) glazed with honey sriracha, and the burnt ends are excellent. Top notch! Flavorful, juicy, and delicious. Next, the good: the blue cheese slaw, potato salad, and original sausage were all solid showings. Deeply satisfying and very tasty. However, if you are able to order the special: beef rib(s) DO IT! Without exaggerating, this was by far the best beef rib I’ve ever eaten, and definitively in the conversation for the best piece of meat I’ve ever put in my mouth. 11/10!
👍🏽 Best brisket of my life (the “bark,” aka burnt edges, are divine) $16.50 for 1/2 lb. Be sure to tell them if you want more or less fat (or extra bark)! 🍺 Local beers on tap + cocktails, soda, and sweet tea. Plenty of seating options. This tomato based BBQ sauce is unique and DELISH 🤤. Mac & cheese was solid. Sriracha cole slaw is awesome (they have other kinds too). Deviled eggs with brisket looked great! Pickle bar. 🥧 We wanna try the winter dessert special: s’mores pie!! 🍺 And the bar has local brews. ❌ Skip: $9 Chicken leg & quarter is superb but the skin was way too spicy for us (and we like heat). $7 Jalapeño cheese sausage was just okay (not spicy at all, but much tastier when we added to the Mac & cheese sauce). ♿️ entrance has a 4 inch lip. Seating is accessible. Great lighting. Loud but not overwhelming.
Crystal, Nick, and Miguel, the dream team!! Crystal was so sweet my 3 year old wanted to give her a hug lol Super friendly service and amazing, juicy brisket as always. The Blackberry cider on tap (I think it's Austin ciders?) was not too sweet and perfectly tart with a little acidity, an amazing complement and really cuts through the rich, savory meats, leaves you wanting more! I think they changed the potato salad recipe and took the brisket out though. It is understandable given the current state of the economy but a bit disappointing since I didn't know until the first few bites. Still tasted pretty good but I miss the old recipe!!
Lockart Barbecue: A Dallas BBQ Pilgrimage! If you're visiting Dallas, making a pilgrimage to Lockhart Barbecue is mandatory. This place delivers on all the legendary smoke flavor you could ask for. The classic brisket is outstanding, boasting a beautiful, deep bark and rich smoke flavor for $15 per half-pound. But the real surprise star of the show for me was the smoked turkey; it was honestly better than the brisket, which I truly wasn't expecting! For the truly hungry, the colossal beef rib is a must-have favorite, and even the smoked chicken is delicious. You will not leave hungry, that’s for sure. Lockhart elevates the side dish game, too. The Brisket Deviled Eggs are a unique and surprisingly delicious appetizer that you absolutely have to try. Pair them with the classic, creamy Lockhart Macaroni and Cheese and the next-level baked beans (which are packed with savory chunks of brisket). The coleslaw is also noticeably fresh. The restaurant itself has a wonderful, genuine local feel and is located in a great part of town. The staff members are amazing, making the experience welcoming from start to finish. Plus, the bar has a nice selection of local craft beers on tap for a very reasonable price—around $8 for a pint, tax included. Five stars all the way! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Ladies were welcoming when we first walked in. The guys were great. They helped us choose a sampler of many things. Im so glad we did! We are from St. Louis, MO and got into town today. We asked our hotel the best place to eat in Dallas that wasn't a franchise, something that was local, and something no one else could easily get. our hotel guy mentioned Lockhart BBQ. This was by far one of the best BBQ I have had. My son can't stop raving about it. 🥰🤗
Lockhart Smokehouse never disappoints! The barbecue is great! It was very juicy. The margarita was also good. Their decor is fun with lots of memorabilia to look at. The staff was also nice. And there are a lot of options for sides. It's definitely worth trying for anyone who has never been.
So great! Went at the recommendation of a friend, was well recommended. The smoked chocolate chip cookie was my fav. Pulled pork was amazing (was not a sandwich but just pulled pork that came with 2 pieces of white bread - still great but just good to know). Garlic green beans were fabulous. Friends got the brisket sandwich and they said it was also really good. Good bar with draft beer.
Great restaurant in a great part of town. Really enjoyed the environment inside the restaurant, really nice local feel. With a great bark, lots of snoke flavor for $15 a half pound. I added a sausage for $8 and it was just okay, not what I was expecting. I had a side of coleslaw for $5 which was great to cut through the fat from the brisket. Bar has a nice selection of draft beers on tap for reasonable prices. $8 including tax for a pint. After we ate we had a chance to walk around the area which is very artsy with a lot of great little shops including a cigar bar, wine tasting area and other cool little meat shops.
The best BBQ ever! Highly recommend and will definitely come back. I had the blackened ends, brisket poppers, spicy mac n cheese, jalapeño sausage, and brisket potato salad. The brisket ends were absolutely delicious. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Jalapeño sausage was also perfect but the best of all was the brisket poppers. They are a meal, perfectly seasoned and served. While everything was delicious, the potato salad was my least favorite because it had onions and the mac n cheese was pretty basic. Overall, a 10/10.
The food, the smell, the food. Lord was it delicious. The brisket was heavenly as was the Mac n cheese and this lovely cucumber onion slaw. Then there was banana pudding. It was amazing, a little pricey but totally worth it. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. A great place to start off an evening!
I am drooling looking back on this photo from Lockhart Smokehouse in Dallas. The deviled eggs were amazing, and the blue cheese slaw was incredible. My favorite sides I've ever ordered at a BBQ joint…

Yes. Eat here. The staff is super nice and welcoming. I came by myself and they made me feel right at ease. I went for the Brisket sandwich and the banana pudding is yummy too.

Came here quick for a snack. Had a 1/2 of brisket and it was delicious. Definitely will be back again when I'm in Dallas next. Super fast service and great location.
Wow! Great bbq. Smokey and labor Fil with great sides. We had the prime rib and brisket. The brisket was the best I’ve ever had. Deviled eggs were great too
Love this bbq!! Try the ribs and the rib eye. Everything was juicy and fresh. They have one of the best mac and cheese Ive ever tried.
Great place for breakfast! I felt like I was back home eating delicious food with the family. Definitely coming back soon ☕️
My daughter and I visted this place for breakfast. We both had pancakes, they were fantastic, and split the vegetarian omelet plate. It was a lot of food and the prices are very reasonable. Really good.
Amazing Mexican breakfast and impressive staff service. We had breakfast there today and it was really nice and refreshing. Would definitely try them out again for brunch.
Food was good. I just have high expectations on mexican food.
The food was delicious. I went on lunch hour it wasn’t so busy. Great portions and flavor. The butcher made it kinda awkward for a second, he was getting onto a coworker in front of us for asking if we wanted more bread… lol the experience was great overall I will be back.
We loved the food and service! The brisket was very moist. The Mac n cheese and potato salad was on point. Staff was super friendly and helpful as we had never been here. The only reason I couldn't give the 5th star, the jalapeño cheddar sausage had no cheddar.
We had been to Lockhart's once before and I decided to try again when my sister came to town. Luckily, we were able to find a parking spot not too far away. The atmosphere had not changed. Prices have gone up there and they have also made everything super spicy now. In the past, I was able to consume the baked beans, potato salad even the deviled eggs without any issues. However, on this visit, they have put some kind of spice into these dishes which make it unpalatable. We were really disappointed. If they want to provide spice, put it on the side. I was not able to finish the sides and for what they charge, it was very disappointing. The sliced brisket though was just as delectable as ever. It just melts in your mouth. Be aware though, it is super greasy.

Pretty good bbq. I really likes their deviled eggs as well as their Mac and Cheese. There is plenty of seating inside.
Our first real Texas BBQ .. We loved the bar itself .. great beer .. Chose chicken.. brisket.. sausage .. all superb. Sides were amazing.. beans and slaw for me the Mac for the family .. not a lot …
Not a super fan of this place, it was just okay at best. Their flour tortillas were rubbery and I'm not 100% sure on this but I assumed they were NOT homemade or made in house. The chips and salsa where the highlight of our meal as those were very tasty. I tried to order a migas taco but the waitress didn't seem to even know what that was and said that they couldn't make that even though they obviously have All of the ingredients necessary and are a Mexican restaurant that serves Breakfast tacos / Burritos. As I previously mentioned They have chips for the salsa and being a "restaurant" you can't tell me they don't have eggs, onions, tomatoes and cheese which all mixed together makes "migas" anyways moving on from my anger and not being able to get a migas taco the food that we did get was just average and kind of bland for what it was. Don't get me wrong I've had worse and all in all it wasn't a bad experience it was just not memorable or satisfying really. the question is would I recommend this place? And the answer to that would be, I most certainly would not ask you to go out of your way to dine at El Jordan Cafe but I would say if you are in close proximity and craving some Mexican food and just don't want to go any further then yeah sure why not. Why three stars and not four: An Unrememberable an unremarkable experience losses you one star and having a Mexican restaurant that doesn't know what a migas Taco is loses you another. *Poor *Decent *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. Good Service. Good Cleanliness. Good Consistency. N/A Value. Good
Brisket was good, burnt ends were over done, green beans were good as was the jalapeno-WAY over priced. It was a- been there done that experience.

We were excited to try this place but were really disappointed. The chips and salsa were good but you have to pay extra for more chips. I got the sausage omelette and it was so disappointing. No seasoning just eggs with cut up little sausage in it. The potatoes had no seasoning and tasted like they were cooked in old oil. They also barely came around to us. We had to flag them down to order and refill waters.
I went by the Google positive reviews which usually is a safe bet but not this time. Food was very underwhelming. Service could have been better. Ordered the huevos rancheros with potatoes. The papas needed some seasoning. Beans were ok. Prices are decent. Wouldn't go back.
Very overrated. What a greasy mess. It’s been an hour and I’m trying not to throw up. For the record I’ve eaten A LOT of bbq after living in TX for over 15 years. This rates towards the very bottom. Far too salty, extremely greasy and their menu of “by the pound” benefits them, not the customer. I bet a lot of food gets thrown away using this business model. Why not just a sliced brisket sandwich on the menu? Sorry, I won’t be back. No, scratch that. I’m not sorry. There are many other better BBQ joints. You are coasting on your name, and perhaps a historical reputation. But today’s food doesn’t come close to good. The atmosphere is nice. The place is clean and it’s got the vibes of a good Texas BBQ joint. Now if the food could come close? No pictures, I’m sorry I didn’t get a picture of the triple soaked butcher paper the meat came wrapped in. It was dripping! Edited to add: I’m not wrong. Look at all the bad reviews and they say the same thing. Far too greasy and too salty.
Not good bbq. Dry chicken, Brisket not bad but not good. Try Terry Black or Hutchins bbq!
Never been there but wanted to try it out...until I read the reviews.\nI know the area. Very high rent. So that's part of why the food pricing is so expensive. Not a good value.
I wanted to try this based on some rave reviews with the assumption central TX bbq, they are not affiliated other than purchasing sausage from Kruez which they play off. \nThey use gas assist pits,…
Subpar BBQ. I would not come back. We ordered the brisket, Jalepeno cheddar sausage, and original sausage. The brisket was very dry, and the BBQ sauce did not taste good either when added. sausa…
Food was OK but way overpriced. Nearly all the sides are too spicy. No cornbread, just cheap white bread. Will definitely not return.
