We went to Benihana on Belt Line in Addison in the middle of the day and didn’t know if we would get a show — but we did! Our chef and entertainer, One, was so much fun and made the meal extra special. We also had a great waiter who took good care of us. The food was amazing! My favorites were the chicken and shrimp, but the steak was pretty yummy too. If you come here with a party, request One — you’ll have a blast!

Cam was our chef and he was AMAZING! He seasoned everything perfectly. Even though, my mom and I were the only ones at the table he didn't skimp on anything. I loved his laser light show and knife skills. I've never had a better time at a restaurant. The waiter was very attentive as well. I almost don't want to let the secret out but this is the best Benihans in Dallas. We are always seated quickly and they are so friendly here. Come here for great food and atmosphere. I had a great experience at Spatch Kitchen and Cocktails! I ordered the Cloud 9 and the Cajun Chicken Pasta — both were really good and full of flavor. First of all, I just want to say the overall ambience and service of Benihanas is great, but it just didn’t live up to what I was expecting in terms of taste and quality based on pricing. I definitely feel like you pay more for the experience than the food because the portion sizes are crazy small for what you’re paying. I ordered the seafood combo which was about $40 and I received five pieces of shrimp two scallops and two small pieces of squid that were chopped and drowned in vegetables, very disappointing.

Cameron was amazing and is carrying this place! Good personality and good cook. Our server and manger was very mediocre. It was me and my husband’s first time so we had a lot of questions. She was friendly at first when answering but that seemed to ware off. We were ready to put our order in but she didn’t come back until another family showed up ab 10 min later. She went to them and took their order then ours. It was clear she was avoiding us. Not even sure if she told us her name. Our salad was half full. This place is not cheap so I expected amazing service from start to finish. The spicy hibachi shrimp was good. When I informed the manager about my issues he didn’t listen very well and mostly made the issue about the salad and walked off before I was finished speaking with him? You want another salad? I’ll get you another salad-as if HE was frustrated. Overall we decided we would not be back. It’s not worth the money. When paying over $100 for a meal it better be AMAZING from start to finish.

I decided to order a hamburger. I know that typically, you can't go wrong with that. It was ok but on the salty side. My friends were a little more adventurous than me. We waited over an hour pasted our reservation. The cook didn’t know how to cook the food right. He didn’t serve us out sauces before he started cooking and we had to ask for them. I had to tell him when to take my food off the grill or it all would have been over cooked. The rice had burnt spots and my shrimp. I added extra garlic butter and mustard sauce to everything and still wasn’t right because the food was over cooked. I got a refund for my dish only and for the beer and hot sake but that wasn’t enough overall it was horrible. The soup broth didn’t have any flavor and my hot sake had red things floating in it. We always got it the Dallas location which is great but this location sucks! If I never had Benihanas before this experience would have made me over eat there again. But this has been my favorite restaurant for the last 20 years. I just wont be going back to this location ever! You can see how dry and the burnt pieces in the rice from this photo. Just terrible.

We visited Benihana in Addison with a 9:00 PM reservation and arrived at 8:47 PM. We were seated around 9:10 PM, which was completely fine — no issue there. About 10 minutes later, a server came to take our drink orders. Roughly 30 minutes after that, we received our soup and salad. Unfortunately, when the server placed the bowls on the table, her hand was inside the rim of the bowl touching the food area, which was already concerning. After that… nothing. We had all reviewed the menu and were ready to order, but no one came back to our table. An entire hour passed without our server returning to check on us or take our entrée order. The only interaction we had was drinks, soup, and salad. No communication. No updates. No explanation. By the time I asked to speak to a manager, it was 10:30 PM — 30 minutes before closing. The restaurant, which had been packed when we arrived, was nearly empty. Tables around us had cleared out, staff were cleaning, and yet somehow no one noticed that our table had been sitting there for over an hour without placing a food order. When I spoke with the manager, she said she “wasn’t aware” that we had been waiting that long. That was extremely disappointing. It should not take a guest tracking someone down for management to realize a table has been neglected for over an hour. A chef named Arron was sent to our table to cook for us and honestly, he tried to save the experience. He was professional, kind, and repeatedly apologized — which, respectfully, should have been the manager’s responsibility. He did his best to lighten the mood, but at that point we were already frustrated and over it. We were told they were short staffed, but that still does not excuse a complete lack of communication or basic table checks. A simple acknowledgment would have gone a long way. In the end, we received a small discount, but we still paid for a meal that started off with over an hour of being ignored. The manager never came back to personally follow up with us at the table. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Poor communication, lack of attentiveness, and management oversight made what should have been an enjoyable night out turn into frustration. I would not recommend this location based on our experience.

I don’t even know where to start. Firstly I work in the restaurant industry, and with the lively atmosphere, amazing music and a menu that has all of the most amazing sounding items, everything was bad. The service was horrible, the server was nice. Me and my boyfriend walked in, and were never greeted. The bus boy told us to sit anywhere, we did and then a sever who didn’t even say hello or anything walked by and said hey can y’all move to the other side, my boss wants this section closed, so we moved no problem. We were just happy to be getting into what we thought was an amazing place on Christmas. It took us twelve to fifteen minutes for our server to come, it took another fifteen minutes for us to get our soft drink which was nasty. I don’t know how a Coke could be nasty, but it was. We got our appetizers in, which were creole deviled eggs and onion rings, nice cute presentation, but nasty as heck. Deviled eggs had no seasoning, and the shrimp tasted like nothing. The onion rings were burnt and batter falling off, may have barely been any onion in the onion ring. It took those two appetizers, 30 minutes to come out. We ordered the surf and turf and the whole fried snapper with Mac and cheese. Now let’s start with the Mac and cheese, they give you a big bowl and eeeeeyuck, Mac and cheese didn’t have no flavor and tasted like they took barely finished cooking elbow noodles and melted shredded cheese right on top. I told my server it was nasty, she said I’m sorry about that and that i wasn’t being charged extra for it, but still girl you knew, the food is disgusting. What do the employees eat from there honestly? The rice was disgusting. It tasted like lime but looked like rice and pea. The mashed potatoes had no flavor, tasted like an instant pack we do at home sometime. The steak sauce was disgusting, get some A1. The snapper was okay but, barely had a flavor and the breading was still doughy in certain parts. Once again, music was amazing and I would have loved for the food and service to match the vibe the music brought, had me thinking I was about to put something good in my mouth. If me and my boyfriend had gotten alcoholic beverages im sure that that would’ve been the only thing that they could’ve gotten right. Who can mess up alcohol. I also noticed that mostly everybody was hanging out, drinking, smoking hookah…. Not eating. To top it off we spent 173, on burnt onion rings, unseasoned deviled eggs, mid steak and ok unflavored snapper, and oh yeah gratuity is already included and I can see why being that the owner must know the food is nasty and still need to make some money on the back end. It’s low-key giving money laundering business how subpar and underwhelming everything about it is. Overall never coming back, close up shop. You’re done.

To start positive, the place is beautiful. However the service is worth less than one star. It took one hour to get food and about 30 minutes to get drinks. The women servers were doing great and handling their tables but the male server we had was talking to co workers and guests and not attending our table. It took us going up to him as he’s talking to a worker for him to realize we were waiting for him. As a former bartender and server I don’t see how this place has such poor service and then adds gratuity to the check. I would NEVER recommend this spot.

Where do I begin… I had high hopes for this place because of the location. Typically, Beltline has good spots to eat and vibe. This being a “Black-owned” spot (I’m assuming based on the menu, music, and overall feel), I really wanted to root for it—but the experience was disappointing. Music & Atmosphere The music was way too loud. I couldn’t even hear the people at my own table, which made it hard to enjoy the night. Service The service was terrible. Our waitress had an attitude and acted like she was doing us a favor by taking our order. Drinks? Only Coke, lemonade, and some watered-down cocktails. She was upfront about the mac and cheese not being good, and instead recommended the stuffed turkey leg. I ordered it—$42—and it tasted old and underwhelming. Definitely not worth the price. Food Quality One of my friends ordered a ribeye, but what came out was not a ribeye. To make it worse, they served it with a butter knife. I wish I was joking. Other Issues There was also a pushy vendor going around the tables trying to sell pictures while people were eating. She was charging $22 per photo for a set of 7 pictures and was rude if you didn’t buy. Completely unnecessary, especially when everyone already has their own cameras. Overall This place was a letdown across the board. Between the loud music, poor service, disappointing food, and pushy vendor, it felt like a cash grab more than a dining experience. They need a serious revamp if they want to last—because as it stands, it was horrible.

Smoke from the hookahs all in the air for you to breathe in while trying to eat . The owners/managers were just walking around, never asked how was the food or anything. When we left the hostess were just talking to each other and never said thank you for coming in. It was cold in there, they turned off the lights & literally never turned them back on. I guess we were supposed to eat from the little lights on the table. At least the music wasn't blasting loud, but then they turned it off and sports talk was playing. The food was no good and is over priced , 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill. Grits were clumpy, calamari overcooked, was supposed to be corn tortilla , but were flour and hard. $7 to add 3 slices of chicken in the salad, etc…Would not recommend at all. Staff👎🏾 , food 👎🏾 0/10 do not recommend. Try to support black owned and then they type of carrying on they present 😑
