Tiny joint in South Dallas with high standards in what matters, the food. Only fools would say it needs the makeover which would instantly ruin it, the total lack of pretension may even be camouflage to keep such purblind critics away. I love this place!! The ribs melt in your mouth and they were well seasoned. The girls at the front of the restaurant were very customer friendly, I totally support black owned businesses, go by and check out their plate lunches. I don't live close by but I work near and we order their food daily.

Really cool place. So glad we came here will definitely be back. There rib plate was really good and their sasuge wrap is worth the money. If your looking for a really good southern style BBQ place that is very inexpensive and well worth the time and money I highly recommend Laura's. Don't let the look or location of this place fool you. Most visitors would bypass this place because of the look or location. The food was amazing and portion size was enough for 2 people. The sliced brisket was absolutely mouth watering and so tender is falls apart in your mouth. The staff was also absolutely as friendly as family.

This place is a hidden treasure. Been coming here for a long time! They have the best food and best prices! They have a pork chop basket that is amazing! My uncle recommended this place and it DID NOT disappoint! A selfish part of me doesn't even want to praise them because I don't want them to become busy and start raising their prices or cutting back on the portions, but my heart won't let me do them like that. They truly have, in my opinion, the best barbecue in Dallas... and I'm a Dallas native. They've earned my business until the day they stop serving such delicious food! Even all of the sides are fire! I ordered the 2 meat baked potato, it was big filled the box up. I ordered the pork chop basket, chops were seasoned great just cooked a little too hard though, so ask for them to not fry to hard. The Rib plate was awesome as well. So I recommend going to this place.

It's a small me m and pop place but the food is good the staff is friendly and helpful in helping you make your selection this is a family owned business and they treat you like family it is in the hood (bad part of town) but don't let that stop you from trying this place I definitely recommend it some of the best BBQ I have had since moving here to Texas

This place is great! I love the chopped beef and the chopped chicken BBQ sandwiches. Just for a few bucks you can get something delicious to eat. Everyone is super sweet and helpful. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the drive-thru wait is so long. Here is a hint: call in your order ahead of time and you won't have to wait.

The only thing that stops this place from being a 5 star is the wait. Took like 10 mins just to get someone to place my order..then since it's cooked to order another 10-15 on the food. The food is delicious 😋 👌 tho. If they got more workers and could be more streamlined this would easily be 5 stars.

I LOVE their BBQ, I'm hardly ever on that side of town so I decided to check out the daily special, on the menu was pig feet, (don't eat that) smothered turkey wings (hummm na, too hot for that), and spaghetti I opted for the spaghetti, I paid then left, once I made it home I discovered I had turkey wings and NOT spaghetti. I really had my heart set on spaghetti, babyyyyy when I tell YOU I tore off into those turkey wings like nobody's business. Tender AND GOOD. The chopped beef sandwich I ordered to take for lunch made up for my disappointment. I didn't take a picture of the prices (phone was dying...lol) I shall return with more photos of the correct order. Can't believe it's been a year since I been here, the parking area has changed DRAMATICALLY, I had to park across the street, the drive through is still there but I wanted to look at the cooked food. They were serving beef tips, fish and baked chicken. I didn't want any of that. I was debating between chopped beef and a link basket (hard cooked aka burnt) opted for that and I wanted peach cobbler turned out the cobbler I was looking at was apple and they were out of peach cobbler.....sigh. I got a lemon cake instead, I'm still shocked I got fingers, that cake was SO moist. My wait wasn't long except they brought my food out and say it on the counter. The young guy that took my order went to the back (after I tipped him and never came ) the cook brought the order out (she didn't know i already paid) so after a min I told the two other ladies there my order was on the counter...lol NOW I remember why it's been a year. GREAT FOOD just a unnecessary headache, I really like the food, the parking right now is an issue, I will be back next year. Nah, Maybe next week for cake....lo. Score stays the same. P.S. Try the smothered Turkey.

The food was OK but the cool aid was too too sweet. It's like when you drink that, you know your foot will be cut off in the future.

The food was ok the only problem I had is I ask for fries or okra for one of my sides because they where out of the sides that I wanted they told me that we don't put fried food on the meat plates why put them up their as sides if you can't get them and you or out of the other stuff.

Please make sure your staff is washing there hands before and after handling food, I pay close attention to this and I'm sure I'm not the only one. The lady came out of drive thru outside wiping sweat and taking dirty money to fixing plates. This is not sanitary! Also make sure the guys in the back chopping and cutting meat are wearing gloves, and changing them out constantly please. I've been here on two occasions and I always have to ask please make sure there using gloves and the lady yells to the back saying the lady up front requesting gloves. The guys always walk out the back to get a drink and of course there's no gloves on. The food is good the staff is just nasty....the burger basket are delicious!!!!!

Business is hard enough right now because of our current economic state and it’s sad when the staff at your establishment chase your customers away. Telephone etiquette goes a long way. I was afraid that the poisonous behavior was going to transfer to my food so I canceled my order. The woman on the phone was rude, nasty, and acted as if my food order was a terrible inconvenience. She acted as if she got paid to Not take my food order. Enough said!

My normal cheap place to go for ok bar b que. But they aren't cheap anymore, and four pieces of ribs not going to get it. The ribs wasn't whole ,one was 2 inches, and one was 3 inches, no season. I don't know what happened there. Up $5 more dollars per plate. No more for me.

I went there today for the very first time. The sides were delicious, but the meat was NOT all that!!! The brisket was dry, for the most part. The pork ribs I got were tender, but had a mixed flat and weird flavor. Food portion size was top notch, though, as well as customer service.

I went to purchased ris, but saw tat they had ribs, It would've been ok if the ribs were actually smoked , and not boiled. I should've stuck with the fish.

The chopped beef was mediocre at best. The East Texas links were very oily and had a nasty taste. Mind you I have had my fair share of E.T links. These were by far the worst tasting ones.

Ribs were boiled ,no season on em and they were tough I threw it away couldn't stand it..ribs were rubbery..and they guy was fixing someone a plate to go and when he did the sides juice was dripping from them onto other sides your could purchase but it might be corn but you will have bean juice dripped in it..

Today I went and got my sons a chop beef sandwich and me to hot links Once I got home my son bit his chop beef sandwich and that was plastic all throughout the sandwich. After returning it I got a very rude customer service. I went inside and heard the cook talking about how people always wanna return food. I am pregnant and my child is disabled so why in the world would there be a sheet of plastic on our food. The only explanation I got was stuff happens.

My first time going there today the ribs were a nice portion size but the sides I got weren’t to my liking at all the baked bean were like a big ole glop idk what was in it but it was nasty, the yams tasted like it came straight from a can, the corn bread was super dry and burnt didn’t have no flavor too no sweetness just dry flavorless and burnt, the Mac n cheese was just ok I wouldn’t go back there again it was a waste of my money the sweet tea lemonade was the only thing I truly liked.

So I was told they had chopped beef sandwiches for a buck. Went they are now $1.50. With a bun the size of a baby cheeseburger at McDonald's. With a tablespoon of chopped beef on it. But don't forget your bbq sauce on the sandwich is the amount of ketchup that comes out of a pack.

I will not be returning nor will I be recommending them to a friend. I ordered a link basket and a 6 piece hot wing basket, both were old and nasty. All the food tasted as if it was reheated.

Their bque is always good. Today my daughter got me a 2 meat plate. Bque was good as usual. BUT she got me cabbage! I could not eat it cos it taste like today's special on PERFUME! Ruined the whole meal. After one bite had to put the whole plate down. Whoever washed them put their perfume in it. I know anyone buying the cabbage was sick! Don't ever let that person around your food if they are wearing that fragrance or any fragrance they use too much! Send them home to bathe and talk to the workers about colognes in the food industries! PLEASE

Horrible!! Bland. Greasy. No BBQ/Smoke/Pit flavor at all. Tastes like they prepared the meat on the stove. The BBQ sauce was watery as if they used a gallon of water to make it stretch or something. Horrible service. No space to pull up or wait in the drive through. RIBS AND SAUSAGE were both HORRIBLE. Peach cobbler was dry and had no flavor. Tasted no butter, no cinnamon, no nutmeg. Peach Cobbler tasted like old flour and dough with a dash of sugar. Not to mention there was a gray hair in my cobbler container. I ordered a half pound of ribs and received 2 skimpy ribs *$10. I ordered half pound of sausage *$10 which was equivalent to 8 skinny slices of jumbo weiners (not smoked sausage). First and last time. WILL NEVER EVER stop by that place again. $25 for 2 tiny portions of meat with NO SIDES and a small side of unflavored crust (because it was NOT cobbler) is overpriced and ridiculous. I'm only giving 1 star because I have to.

Not a fan! When I first ate here I was so excited that I had to share with everyone. Then the food quality had changed. Ribs were old and overwhelmed with old BBQ sauce. Daily food bland and greasy - had my stomach upset for a couple of days. I went once for chopped beef sandwiches and they allowed teenagers to prepare my food-burnt the top and bottom buns (BLACK BUNS) and sold it that way... Last but not least April is nice but the other lady there is rude and overbearing! We have to have integrity and pride in everything we do.. Especially feeding our people. Highly disappointed! Won't spend another dime in this place! 11/16/2021 Updated So I tried once again to support a Black owned/operated business and are still missing the support of repeat customers. I just sat in the drive-thru for almost an hour (extremely slow), I asked the lady who took my order to place sauce on the side and guess everything has sauce. Ok let's get down to it... a simple chopped beef sandwich had nothing but FAT and watered down bbq sauce! I ordered ribs - was given ribs cut off towards the bone (cheating customers), the sausage was jumbo wieners submerged once again in the bbq sauce..😶😶 If I could save 1 person the horrible experience of their food it was worth it. PLEASE DON'T TAKE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!

The sliced beef sandwich was pretty good. Kinda missing the deep smoked flavor. A little skimpy on the portion size. The drive thru wait is ridiculous. I noticed 7 people walk in and get their order as I waited for one (1) sliced beef sandwich. I guess if I decide to try their food again, I need to walk inside. Total time in drive thru- 28 minutes... Update 9-18-2018 I'll never be back again. Whomever prepared this sandwich thought it was ok to give a customer 90% fat on a sliced beef sandwich???
