What a fantastic place! The food was amazing. The ambience heavenly and the service first class. The Samosas were great but the Cheese Cake was out of this world!
A hidden gem in the heart of Dallas. Traditional food made enjoyable for all with love. Great staff and atmosphere. Thank you Padma and Danny for a great experience. Personal favorite - Desserts!! Especially the vegan brownies!! Heavenly!!
Check it out for some good vegetarian food. It was 25 bucks per person on Saturday night. It is inside a Hindu temple, so you need to walk through the temple to get to the restaurant. It is a little bizarre as there are shoes when you walk in because if you're going into the temple to worship, it's required to remove your shoes. Anyways, once you get passed that, you'll find signs that take you to the restaurant. You should know it's like a lunch line, with trays, plates and silverware at the entrance of the line. It's basically a buffet line but you will pay additional for another round of food. It is very welcoming and the garden is a beautiful place to dine with nature. It's unconventional to say the least but worth trying the food.
I love this place. The building it is in is beautiful. The restaurant itself has a much bigger outdoors than indoors, which is very nice to sit out in and enjoy the wonderful food. The food is always great. It sometimes tastes a little weird to my American taste buds, but never bad. It’s a great deal for a buffet that includes drink and a hot and cold dessert.
Kalachandji’s food is absolutely delicious! The buffet is full of flavorful, wholesome dishes that feel both satisfying and nourishing. I was pleasantly surprised to discover it’s right next to a temple - if I had known earlier, I would’ve come a bit early to visit and pray before eating. This place has such a peaceful, welcoming vibe. I’ll definitely be coming here regularly! Must try tamarind water!
A Tranquil, Soul-Nourishing Experience Kalachandji’s is truly a hidden gem in Dallas. The moment you step in, you’re transported to a peaceful, spiritual haven with its beautiful temple and serene courtyard. The buffet is a delightful mix of freshly prepared, vegetarian dishes bursting with authentic flavors. I loved the variety, from the hearty curries to the fresh salads, all seasoned with love and tradition. The staff is warm and welcoming, adding to the overall calming atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a healthy, soulful meal. Highly recommended for anyone seeking wholesome, flavorful food in a tranquil setting!
Such a quaint place for some great vegetarian food! I’ve been here a few times but never eaten in. They have a cute courtyard out back that is so soothing to sit and eat. The food is great too! They change their menu, so you never know what you’ll get, but they’ll taste amazing. And it’s all vegetarian!
The atmosphere was welcoming. I was timid about entering since I didn’t know the restaurant is inside the Hindu temple, and I had never been in one. Each dish was amazing and the flavors exploded in my mouth. The food is real natural, fresh, authentic vegetarian Indian food. The tamarind tea/lemonade was my favorite. It is the color of sweet tea, but taste like a rich bold lemonade. The dining area was also beautiful a mixture of indoor and outdoor with strong appreciation for nature Definitely coming to Kalachandji’s again.
Discovered this hidden gem while we were in search of a pure vegetarian place nearby. The food is too good to be true, Tastes very homelike and can satisfy your soul for sure. You might have limited options to choose from but the food quality and taste you get for the price is very worth it. Desert tastes good too and the whole ambience of the place is very nice and feels peaceful. The only bad side is their washroom. Being located inside the temple itself having such a dirty washroom was a small downside. Overall a 5/5 experience. Definitely must go place for vegetarians.
Great place… straightforward sweet people, simple Indian vegetarian menu medium spiced. For anyone wanting to get started on Indian food or vegetarian food this place would be a good start. Nice but small courtyard seating. Plenty of parking. Good atmosphere, divine vibes, peaceful neighborhood overall.
This is a really good Indian spot hidden inside a temple! All the food is vegetarian and its buffet style. The raisin bread and black bean curry were my favorites. The tamarind lemonade is worth getting too. The garden temple setting where you eat makes the experience even better! Raisin bread and curry are must orders here. I would definitely come back to this spot.
My boyfriend and I come here once a week. It’s very good and flavorful. It’s all vegetarian or vegan. It’s a buffet but you have to pay after grabbing your plate and can come back for more. The service is nice all the employees are sweet and helpful. Food is made fresh. Clean areas to sit inside or outside in their beautiful courtyard. Easy to take it home as well.
World class destination of actors, Musicians and vegans from all over the Planet. Indian cuisine at its finest. Attached to the Temple and accessible by back parking lot.i am not a vegan, in fact carnivore lol. However I could be turned out Vegan if I had daily access to these recipes and fare. My daughter and Grandson love this place. I normally do not like Indian cuisine or curry heavy recipes but their excellent blend of spices are delicious. Looking forward to dining there again soon.
Kalachandji's is a wonderful experience. The temple is spiritually uplifting and simply beautiful, and they have a really cool gift shop with all sorts of goodies. The food in the restaurant is vegan, but that does not mean it isn't very tasty. The menu varies daily and it's set up buffet style, but don't get too much of any one thing, because you'll probably want to try a little bit of it all; you can always go back for more, but please be aware of what you waste. Definitely check this place out!
You are always treated like family when you are here. The food is all you can eat and the spicy and savory flavors will transport you to a happier existence. If you haven't been here yet you MUST come and dine al fresco! We are constantly bringing friends and family to dine and they are so hooked that they come back too. Not to mention all the good works they are doing in the community. Really, there is no reason why you should have read this far in my review. Hurry up and go there now. 😁
Rich culture of a particular Indian Hindu sect depicted inside. Imparts a serene ambience. The restaurant is standalone and has an spectacular ambience with a splendid porch that transports one to one of the many temple gardens of India. Can spend hours there appreciating the decor. Food is very simple, reminiscent of home cooked food, great authentic flavor profile. Loved the uniquely refreshing tamarind sherbet. Even though they're pure vegetarian, they rank as one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the US, of whatever I've explored.
We were really craving some Indian food and decided to stop by here because of how unique it was. This is a vegetarian buffet styled restaurant that's located inside a temple. There weren't too many options when I was here, but everything they served that day was delicious. There's a fairly large parking lot with ample parking even on a Friday night. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating had a magnificent tree and each table was equipped with a heater so you don't have to worry about it being too cold. I preferred eating outdoor as it was not as crowded as indoor. The concept is simple. You walk in, immediately grab yourself a tray, plate, and utensils and then proceed to filling your plate with whatever you want. Remember, it's buffet style, so you can have more than one round. Do not overfill your plates with food that you cannot finish. After you grab your food you can go and pay for your food before finding a table. When it's time for you to get seconds, you can go right back to where you started and just grab a new plate for food. At the end of the meal, you can just leave the plates at the table. I believe they also allow you to take the leftovers home, which is very nice of them. On the night I came here there were people dancing in the other rooms of the temple. Please respect the posted signs about the shoes.

Food was good if you are Vegan. No meat at all. I didn't know before going to this restaurant. parking is not easy.
I have eaten here for more than 20 years and the food and service has always been great. Tonight I had a young girl disrespectfully approach me time I sat down and accuse me of not wanting to pay for my food which I must say rubbed me wrong especially since I was at the restaurant the night before and countless other times and paid when I was leaving. I am a person of color and her unnecessary approach towards me only made me feel she was discriminating against me for that reason. I told management and received no apology at all. Never been treated that way previous times and didn't like things were handled at all. She had on a dark blue dress with a green scarf and was as rude as it comes!
At UTD they charge $9 to give us 4 pieces of Paneer, little vegetable and rice. Its a ripoff from studetns who eat vegetarian. They cover it with so much gravy like a soup. UTD should consider getting a better service company. Students are already wriking on an complain.
This place was a complete disappointment. The prices are ridiculous for what they offer. Seriously, I felt like I was being ripped off. The menu is so limited that it’s almost laughable. There are barely any choices, and nothing exciting or unique — just boring, overpriced dishes. For the amount they charge, you’d expect at least some variety or quality. Instead, it feels like they’re charging premium prices for cafeteria-level food. I honestly felt cheated. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money — there are plenty of other restaurants that actually care about value and give you real options instead of charging luxury prices for a bare-minimum experience.
