Opinions de Double Wide Dallas
Small, nice atmosphere, polite staff. I did not drink any alcohol but noticed menu of house specials and canned drinks too.
Went in here on a whim, and loved it. Don't venture to Deep Ellum as often as I like to, but staff is so personable, Justin was awesome, wish I lived closer to this watering hole.
Yoohoo drink is amazing! Staff were friendly and attentive. Not too crowded on a Friday night. Highly recommend it!
This was a very neat little bar to go to just for drinks. They had an interesting style of decoration but I thought it was neat. Very chill and laid back bar. service was great and all the bartenders were very friendly.
Great people, great atmosphere, great drinks. Took my out of town friends for a bit of out-of-their-comfort-zone bar hopping and we fell in love! Everyone was chill, drinks were cheap and it was over the top cool. We were so sad we left to go to another bar and should have just stayed there! Bathrooms were surprisingly clean. There is a love band area that requires a cover amount but we had an awesome time without it. Ornamental toilets as outdoor decor should be enough to send you running there!
Nice bar to chill and take it easy. Prices are surprisingly sweet on a "feel one beer / drink more level... or two?" They have an inside stage and outside seating area. And close to six flags so, if you want to relax, before going there or coming from there.
Sara is the sweetest and most genuine bartender out there. Tip her well and be nice :)
Super fun place for date night or even a week night you´re bored and want to go out for a few drinks. Events keep the place interesting and filled with a fun eclectic crowd. They're bartenders are very interesting characters, fun and take care of their customers. Over serving is not in their book! I give this place a 10!
I've lived in four major cities in the country and drank in many more. I've never seen a place so perfectly match the culture of the country, the state, and the city. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is attentive courteous and are disappeared to a generous pour. Double Wide and Single Wide have together set the bar for my new favorite bars.
This is absolutely my favorite first date bar You take your date it's a really fun little out of the way hole in the wall. They have great music they even have a tornado and the roof that spins around drinks are cheap I overall really enjoyed love going to this place And the owner owns the Thunderbird across the street which is one of my previous reviews
Good crowd, atmosphere, vibe, energy, music, online Google pictures don't do it justice, if you've never been here, you should definitely at least once, your missing out
Very laid back rockabilly/early 80's country bar vibe. Can't go wrong with the frozen yoohoo or Tang drinks. Patio is also a huge plus that will not upset. Let's not forget the concert venue. Loud and how it should be..... Go here!
Double Wide takes your ideas of a dive bar, crumples them up on a ball, and throws them into the fire. Subdued lighting? This place is so dark you need a flashlight. Velvet Elvis? This place has four velvet paintings, surrounded with glittering gold garlands and sparkly lights. Bar back? DW has more crammed into 25’ than most bars have in their whole establishment. And on and on. Absolutely wonderful if you're into it, horrifying if not. So the surrounding environment is awesome, the patrons mostly chill and friendly, the bartenders friendly, professional and efficient. A pretty cool place to hang out.
Amazing soundtrack, great live music experience. The service at the bar is a bit slow but I know those bartenders are trying to tackle the long lines on Saturday nights.
If you want a bar that reminds you of the quiet roadside bar go to Double Wide. It's easy to have fun and feel like you aren't a part of the show but just there to enjoy a frosty beverage and meet and greet with a local. It can get busy but since it's not huge it rarely feels like one of those trendy hotspots that get overplayed. Drinks are strong and have enough variety for the whole drinking family.
Amazing did I say amazing. I have been going to double wide for years it's a hidden hole in the wall jem, the staff is wonderfully awesome. They have cool themed nights and one of a kind drinks I suggest not toddies my go2 drink.
Such a cool place! We were bar hopping on Main street and were so bored and it wasnt really our scene but I found the Double wide within walking distance so we went to check it out!!! Wish we found it sooner!!!! Cool atmosphere and great staff!! Will definitely go back if we ever visit again!
One of the absolute RADDEST bars I've been to! Excellent atmosphere, unique layout and awesome decor! I got a killer Double Wide Bandit t shirt, too! Will definitely be back if im in the area.
We came here on a Saturday night while in Dallas for a weekend. The two bartenders were great, especially Derik who chatted away to us and informed us of the happenings in the bar. He made us feel as if we walked into our local at home. This is what’s classified as a dive bar, but it’s beyond that, if you are snobby and expecting five star accommodations then this is not the place for you, however if you are down to earth and want a local joint where all walks of life are welcomed and blend together, then this is the place for you. Felt very comfortable here and had a great night.
Came in for a show and was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere. The artist mentioned how great the venue was to them, and that matters a lot. The drink menu was interesting and the drinks were made well, but the bartender in the venue mentioned they were just supposed to be jokes... That was odd, but I also overheard they were planning on releasing a new drink menu soon. So, in all honesty, if they continue to treat the artists well, I'll come in just for that alone.
Double Wide Bar in Dallas offers a comfortable and inviting ambiance. The drinks were potent and the patrons friendly. The interior has a down-to-earth charm, and the music selection added a nice touch to the atmosphere during my evening here. Without a doubt a solid option for a casual hangout or a night out. Thanks for having me!
I was feeling sad but the bartender, GG, was amazing. Definitely worth it.
First time here. Came to see my friends the three bad jacks play. I'm from California out visiting and this place was really cool. Great look, clean people were super awesome. I didn't order any drinks but my bf and his friends did and it was great service. Can't wait to come back and hangout during my next trip.
Amazing bar with great drinks (including NA options) with great atmosphere including a local musical talent showcase the Blend which feature local Dallas artist Shaquan Bivens and also a Madonna themed DJ set in another area where we danced the night away. Double Wide is keeping the arts and culture of Deep Ellum and Dallas alive and well, in a very safe and aesthetic environment complimented with art installations and murals by local artists curated by the ownership group.
Very cool venue with a small stage. Makes for a very intimate band watching experience. The two separate areas and the patio area in the middle makes it a very cool place.
We came here for drinks. The price was reasonable. The staff was awesome! And I love the outside market they was having. I also bought an almond vanilla cookie from one of the vendors, it was soft and very delicious
Really fun atmosphere and aesthetics. Drinks and drink options are great. They even had non alcoholic options.
Dope spot for some disko and house music by Steven ! Nice vibes. Wish there were some craft cocktail choices that didn't have tang as an ingredient. But love the coasters and slogan. Brought some back to NYC. Was a hit 🎯
That frozen white Russian made with Yoo-hoo drink is delicious and dangerous. Love it!
I can't say enough about this place. I was born and raised in Dallas Dallas and this is my all time favorite bar. I'm more of an evening drinker when bars are more laid back. This place never disappoints. Drinks, atmosphere, service, music, everything is great. Super busy at night but fun.
My go to bar if not only one I’m even ok with in Dallas haha. Great crowd and music and just into it.
I took my other half here on a whim for his birthday and we had a blast! It was 80's night and ridiculously packed. The amount of people in such a small space wasn't the best, but what can I say, the 80's were fun. Then we went for my birthday some weeks later and I left there the happiest 30-something year old. The drinks are strong and the environment great! The band that night, Billy Law, was AWESOME.
Played there with Tunderosa, The Dangits, Longview Black Car. Great place!!! Check it out!!!
Came here at the recommendation of a friend, and was beyond impressed. Great spot with personality as big as the state. The highlight beyond the innovative cocktails however were our bartenders Liz and Michele, they steered us in the right direction on all levels from local breweries, to great dinner spots and beyond! Thank you for an incredible experience and our group looks forward to returning someday soon!
This bar is exactly what it portrays itself as it's a cool hole in the wall bar at the end of deep ellum. It actually has a tornado and a little funnel in the corner The bartenders are super cool They've got a very beautiful patio in the back They serve appetizer type food and drinks check it out it's one of my favorite date spots
If you’re looking for a bar that feels like a second home but with world-class drinks, this is the place to be. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The bartenders aren’t just skilled—they’re passionate about their craft, mixing up some of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time. Whether you’re a whiskey lover, a vodka connoisseur, or just in the mood for something creative, their drink menu has something for everyone. The service is top-notch—attentive without being intrusive, and the staff genuinely cares about making your experience enjoyable. The vibe is just right, perfect for a casual night out, a fun date, or even a solo visit where you’ll feel right at home. If you appreciate great drinks, friendly people, and an inviting ambiance, this bar is an absolute must-visit. Cheers to a place that knows how to do it right!
Mini haha (sp?) is like a blended white Russian and is delicious. Came here with a group that loves karaoke and we had a blast. The entire bar was singing. The bartenders are super nice and it's fun that they have an outdoor area. Lots of street parking. Very small parking lot (only 5-6 cars).
Double Wide is one of those bars you don’t forget. The vibe is unmatched — part dive bar, part honky-tonk, all-around good energy. The decor is wild in the best way, with trailer park kitsch that makes it feel fun and unapologetically Dallas. Drinks are strong (highly recommend the Yoo-Hoo Yeehaw), music is loud, and the crowd’s always down to have a good time. Whether you’re posted up inside or chilling on the patio, it just hits. A go-to spot when I want something real and rowdy without trying too hard.
Dive bar with a small indoor music venue. Kinda tight but good sound.
One of my favorite bars to frequent! I love having they’re Yoo-hoo Yeehaw and yapping with all the punks that hang out here. Always have really cool pop-ups ❤️
I used to live directly across the street from this bar at 3600 Commerce. It was never too loud. It was always a good crowd. And sometimes it was the easiest way to buy a pack of cigs in the immediate vicinity. lol. Love the DOUBLE WIDE.
Hands down one of the most iconic bars in East Dallas! From the moment you step into Double Wide’s quirky, trailer-park-meets-music-venue vibe, you know you’re in for a good time. The drinks are strong, creative, and super fun (you’ve gotta try the famous Yoo-Hoo Yeehaw!). The staff is friendly and attentive, the patio is great for groups, and the live music lineup keeps the energy high every weekend — whether you’re into rock, country, or DJ nights. Great atmosphere, solid drink specials, and a true Dallas dive bar experience you won’t forget. Highly recommended!
Always a yoohoo yee-haw and if you can pair it with live music then its a double win. Parking socks so be prepared to street park and walk.
Went to the vendors market super cool. Highly recommended very cool vintage stuff. I think you can get market info on double wides site or medias
Fun place! Great times! Must visit when I'm Dallas! Close to lots of other places as well! Limited parking.
Stopped by for a small market event last night. Bartenders were great, plenty of street parking around and welcoming atmosphere. Drinks were strong and reasonable, $16 for a Makers and a Margarita
Absolutely love this place. Good drinks service and vibes. Excellent venue for live acts.
Easily best bar in Dallas for me. The double wide holds a special place in my heart, and I wish I could go here every weekend. It’s a lovely, casual and laid back place where it’s easy to get comfortable. I highly recommend the Yoohoo yeehaw to anybody that has ever wondered what an alcoholic frosty would taste like.
This place is amazing! The drinks are delicious and the employees are so kind. I will recommend this place to all my friends. Bonus that have a cool cigarette vending machine, it's so cool!
There’s something beautifully, defiantly wrong about a dive bar called Double Wide serving vegan Mexican food. It’s the kind of cognitive dissonance that makes perfect sense only in Texas, where contradictions don’t just coexist but slow dance together under neon beer signs. Every third Wednesday, this East Dallas institution transforms into something unexpected. Chef Daddy rolls up with a mission that would make your abuela either weep or throw chanclas: plant based Mexican food that somehow doesn’t feel like punishment. The Crunchwrap arrives like a beautiful lie wrapped in a tortilla, crispy and substantial enough to make you forget you’re not committing culinary sins. The elote, corn kernels bathed in vegan mayo and chili powder, tastes like summer nights and questionable decisions, which is exactly what you want. The taco plate is honest food, the kind that doesn’t apologize for being different. Each bite carries the weight of tradition bent but not broken, like a mariachi song played on an electric guitar. It works because it doesn’t try too hard to be anything other than what it is: damn good food that happens to be vegan. But here’s the real genius of this place: those five dollar frozen Yoo hoos during happy hour. In a city where craft cocktails cost more than minimum wage and everyone’s chasing the next Instagram worthy rooftop experience, Double Wide offers something genuinely subversive: a chocolate milk cocktail that tastes like childhood and costs less than a fancy coffee. This isn’t just one of the best happy hour deals in Dallas; it’s a middle finger to pretension, served ice cold in a plastic cup. Sometimes the most revolutionary act is keeping things simple, affordable, and real. Double Wide gets it. Oh, and last but certainly not least, GiGi is an ANGEL!
My favorite bar, even though it’s 25 miles away from me. Best well tequila, for my $4 well cocktail, Monday thru Friday till 9pm. Lovely long bar and cigarette machine, space to the side for dancing and DJs. Beautiful, large fenced in patio, with funky toilets as seating, and beautiful artwork. Most kind and comfortable dive bar, I love Logan!!
Really fun place! Their drink menu is filled with items you don't find anywhere else. Who else would make a White Russian with Yoohoo? The service is excellent. Our bartender, Juliette, was amazing and friendly! They also have the greatest tshirts and merchandise in town. The tshirts are incredibly high quality and soft. Highly recommend!!!!
It's a cool neighborhood dive bar
Kind of a weird little place but I liked it. It's a trashy dive bar with (tiny) concert venue attached. I saw Baroness there a few weeks back and it was awesome, great crowd and the small size of the place made it feel really intimate. I'll definitely be back if anyone else I like plays here.
Chill, no-frills dive on the edge of deep ellum. Great place to duck off and enjoy a night with friends away from the bullshit. Only drawback is the single seater bathroom setup.
Average dive bar with good priced drinks. Nothing fancy but if you want a drink with locals this is the place to go. The bathroom was clean. I don't think they serve any food there but big plus is they do have an outdoor seating area that allows dogs.
This is a great bar and has been around forever. Just know that your getting ice cold beer and the crowd is eclectic. For those familiar with the area, but not the bar-it's just across from Vern's old place (that sadly closed), plenty of parking.
A fun bar, with plenty of open air space. A bit of a dive, but they've got a great atmosphere and good people. Can be packed summer nights, but still worth a visit, especially when there's live music or a DJ.
Basically you get two bars... One with music and one without, separated by a patio for the smokers. There's usually a cover charge to get into the side that has bands. The drink prices aren't crazy for Dallas, but it's not exactly cheap either. We have had a good time every time we've been here.
Great dive bar for cheap drinks. 1/2 of the venue hosts bands for live music & the other half is a bar. There is an outdoor space in between the two trailers with seating. I'd come check this place out if you want a low-key, indie feel.
It was really fun & had a great atmosphere! The drinks are STRONG; but then you don't need as many! 😉 We saw live music here & the first band was really good! The only thing I didn't love was that there was no seating where the music was being played. We definitely liked it & will most likely return on our next trip down!
I forget where I got the tip, but was told this was a must check out place. I'm glad I did because was 100% my time of place. The gentleman at the bar was fun and engaging. All the other patrons were having a blast and we all got to talking. Next time in Dallas I will definitely be going back! Also, check out their Yoohoo Yeehaw! That is the most dangerous version of an adult Yoohoo I have ever had!!
Venue is cool but staff is a bit rude and only one ladies room. Outdoor area nice if your a smoker.
The double wide actually seems a little bit narrow. It is kind of an awkward space and the music, though they were pretty decent tunes, was really loud inside. The vibe of the place was nice. The drinks were good. There was a large crowd and there was live music on the other side in the "venue" area. There was something like a ten dollar cover to get in on that side.
I understand storms and power outages happen and are out of a venue's control. However, in the age of cell phones, it would have been really nice to post some kind of update on your Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, website, or even Email to ticket purchasers to inform customers who were coming for a show that the venue will not be opening before they show up at the door. Update: They refunded the tickets for the canceled show without being asked to. I may try visiting again, and if it goes well, I may update my review again.
I expected this place to be pretty fun and kooky from other reviews I read, but I was a bit disappointed. The vibe was okay but felt a little more realistic and less humorous than I was hoping. I can't complain about the prices though, they are best I've found in Dallas to date! My main suggestion would be to have a couple more tables inside so people don't have to awkwardly stand at the end of the bar with nowhere to place their drinks. A couple high tops would work great!
My friend loves this place. I don't like it. The drinks are overpriced for quality, and they don't have many top shelf liquors available. It's small and dark and kind of run down looking, in a trying to be ironic but ends up actually being run down type of way. There are only two individual bathrooms. The crowd it attracts is extremely eclectic and weird, from cowboy hat wearers and business looking types to full goth. People don't really seem to mingle or interact with new people here. They kind of just stick with the crowd that they came with. Never once have I said, "Let's go to Double Wide!" rather I get dragged here by friends.
The 80's prom event was way over sold. No room at all with bodies literally stuck together trying to hear the band. Have always had good experiences there but this one was a deal breaker.
Bar is awesome...bartender is rude and horrible! Too bad she ruins the atmosphere! We left and went to the bar around the corner and met some people who had also experienced the rude bartender and left. Looks like they lost a lot of business due to this bartender that acts put out when she has to quit talking to her buddies to fix you a drink. 🙁
Don’t go here if you’re a woman!! I was here with my fiancé and the male bartender, LOGAN, pushed me!!! I was NOT looking for trouble and just trying to walk around him. His entitled self refused to give me space to walk and thus pushed me out of his way. When I retaliated he pushed me from behind. I tried to contact via phone AND email, but got no response or apology!!!!!!! You can go anywhere else In deep ellum or the world with better service drinks and vibes!
Bought 3 drinks and only got 2 of them, didn't get the receipt back. The market event thing was the only good thing I experienced here. Bartender was what really ruined this place for me as my first time here, she kept ignoring us while we waited infront of her face. She took all the women around us and complimented them but told us "what do you want". Finished my drink and immediately left elsewhere!
