Great place! There is outdoor (picnic tables)and indoor (bar style) seating. We went during happy hour and got a few different things. Delicious made to order food and friendly staff.
Revolver Taco Lounge on Elm Street in Dallas isn’t just a taco joint; it’s a destination for authentic, elevated Mexican street food. Forget everything you think you know about tacos and prepare for a culinary journey that starts, deliciously, with the tortillas. Each taco is cradled in a delectably homemade corn tortilla, tender yet resilient, a testament to their in-house process that sets the stage for perfection. One must start with the **barbacoa**, a dish served with a deeply satisfying, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. This is slow-cooked mastery, rich and flavorful, proving that a classic dish can still be astonishing. However, the taco that truly steals the show is the legendary **pulpo al pastor**. This creation, a whole large Mediterranean octopus tentacle prepared al pastor style, is an absolute revelation. The traditional pastor flavor profile is completely unleashed by the incredible tenderness of the octopus, which is perfectly balanced by sweet chunks of grilled pineapple, scallions, and fresh cilantro. It’s an inventive, perfectly executed surf-and-turf masterpiece that alone justifies a visit. Revolver Taco Lounge raises the bar for what a taco can be, delivering an essential Dallas dining experience.
Great food and drinks! Authentic tacos and everything is made fresh. Jorge provided amazing service and made great drinks. Highly recommend
We ate outside it was perfect weather the place smelled so clean and the restrooms impeccably clean loved spending valentines here with my husband it was such an incredible vibe
If you want authentic Mexican food, go Sundays and have the brunch buffet. It’s worth every penny, homemade dishes to choose from and you can keep getting as much as you can eat. The señoritas who cook the food will make you feel like you are at home with fresh tortillas and fresh lemon water and coffee. Didn’t get to enjoy everything they had but definitely returning for more!
Yes, the octopus tacos are great. We had both kinds. I liked the flavors on the pulpo better than the pulpo pastor. Also loved the chicken birria tacos. Great combo. Brisket is a great choice, too. It's in a fun area of Dallas with lots of options. Service was good. They have a nice bar area and plenty of space outside for dining.
Great spot for tacos and such an amazing vibe. I came here on a Wednesday evening in January and they had the garage doors opens. Love the plants and overall feel. What was a bit of a damper was the amount of unfortunate individuals that were not well and asking us constantly for money or help. The staff here was gracious and kind in how they handled them but we had to keep an attentive eye on our stuff and couldn’t relax fully. As for the food, amazing. Get all the tacos! The shrimp and octopus was my favourite. Love the vegetarian ones too. The sauces are so flavourful. Service here is fantastic and highly recommend coming here
Revolver Tacos in Dallas was awesome! Definitely worth the visit. The food was incredibly tasty, and the staff were fun and helpful. I 100% recommend it. Plus, they play football (soccer) on the big screen, adding to the great atmosphere. On the higher price point, but totally worth it.
A big group of us were visiting from out of town and went to the brunch buffet. It was about $40 a person after tax and it was well worth the price. They had coffee, water and agua fresca. It was some of the best coffee I’ve ever had! We all tried everything and went up for seconds. The favorites of the group were the poblano chicken, ribs and mole carnitas. A few of us also got cocktails and they were delicious. The food is incredible and there are amazing women making the tortillas in front of you. There are women walking around dishing out chilaquiles, tamales and burritos. I’d highly recommend stopping by.
These are legit the best tacos that I’ve had in Dallas. They keep it simple and make the tortillas fresh. Onion, grilled peppers, cilantro, lime and salsa is all a good taco need. My favorite was the pato, and my wife liked the pastor, but lengua and carne asada are great too. The prices are crazy high so (pro tip) go for half off happy hour
Andre was very helpful, professional, and provided amazing service! I enjoyed the vibes, drinks and atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good vibe with strong drinks in the Deep Ellum area. I flew in town to spend the day with a really good friend and will be back to visit when i return!!
Heard from another chef to try this place out. Great authentic taste. Started off with the Queso Fundido; portions are small but came with 5 mini flour tortillas and had shrimp and chorizo, very delicious. Tacos are a la carte, which I’ve always loved because you can order as you want and get variety! Started with the Trompo Al Pastor and Lengua Tacos; both were super delicious and of course if you’re a texture eater you probably won’t like the lengua. Finished up with Carne Asada, Pulpo, and Carnitas. I love octopus so I think my favorite was definitely the Pulpo with leek, was really surprised with the filling. Also grabbed a margarita and ranch water. Margarita was very fresh. Bartender was very attentive and helpful with suggestions! Some people want to complain about the price, but the quality of the food and the way it’s prepared really outweighs that argument. Will definitely be back!
Sit at the bar, have a great conversation with a wonderful bartender, enjoy some awesome tacos and a killer margarita. If that is your definition of a good time then . . . This is the place. I highly recommend the duck tacos. Not fatty or chewy just awesome but my favorite was the al Pastor taco with the pineapple. I was not sure about it but the super friendly bar tender recommended it and I am glad he did. It was flavorful, spicey, sweet and just awesome!
We stopped here on a food tour. The al pastor tacos we had were so good! The alley is a nice break from the heat. You can tell they take pride in their food. It was some of the best corn tortillas I've ever had, even internationally.
If you were a vampire, this is the cozy bar you'd want to be in. Warm lighting, good music at a reasonable level, killer art, and a library of bottles before your eyes. Service is prompt and wonderful. Tasty shooters and as a bonus, you can watch the bartenders work on their house made infusions. Chef Jordan is the captain of the flavor ship in the back of house and will cook you some exquisite meals. I asked for his recommendation and he said to get the octopus and... he was 10,000% correct. Gorgeously cooked pulpo on a light salad of marinated cucumbers and tomatoes. When I was done eating, my mouth was still singing from all the layers of flavor and songs of spice. Get the loaded fries too, and you won't be disappointed. 10/10, 5/7, five stars. Eat here.
This is one of my favorite places in Deep Ellum. The charred octopus is my favorite! If you like octopus, you’ll LOVE this one. My fave drink is the Trinity Peach, Aaliyah makes it the best!!
Armoury D.E. is a modern, stylish bar and restaurant that blends a sleek, contemporary design with a lively atmosphere. It’s known for craft cocktails, a solid selection of beers, and a menu featuring elevated bar fare—think gourmet burgers, small plates, and sharable appetizers. The space is trendy and vibrant, often attracting a young, social crowd. Service is generally attentive, and it’s a good spot for after-work drinks, casual dinners, or weekend meet-ups. Overall, Armoury D.E. is ideal for those looking for a mix of quality food, drinks, and a fun, upbeat environment.
Such a neat bar! Was looking for something without Deep Ellum vibes. Was about to leave the area when we stumbled upon this place on our way to the car. Loved the vibe and the Hungarian feel. But do wish they had late night bar snacks. Something like chips or nuts, anything to snack on. Please consider that!
This place is very welcoming. Keller and Kelsey took very good care of us and we had a great time hanging out with them. The food is also delicious. We had Mama's Gulyas, which is a Hungarian Goulash, Zsa Zsa Sprouts, and the Traditional "Weiner Schnitzel". You can get drinks anywhere but the atmosphere, music, patrons, and especially Keller and Kelsey made The Armoury DE a great place to spend the afternoon. We will definitely be back next time we're in town.
Food: Very good. The grilled cheese was amazing. The octopus was cooked perfectly. Overall we were very happy, and considering the fare and quality, the prices were reasonable. Cocktails: Strong! That's always a huge plus. I think this is the kind of place where you need to order right/learn what's your jam. But I imagine some of the cocktails are amazing, would love to try more. Service: Good. Friendly. We were lucky to be here when they first opened for a Friday night, so it wasn't busy yet. Everything was reasonably prompt/well-timed. Vibe: Warm, chill, indoor and outdoor seating, cool bar. Would totally come here just for some dope cocktails if we hung out in this area more. Cool place.
Let me tell you, this is now one of my top spots in Dallas now thanks to the recommendation from the receptionist at SOVA. It’s Hungarian food with a classic old school pub with a much hipper but fun vibe. The Traditional Wiener Schnitzel caught my eye right away when I was looking online which only sold the deal that I was going here. The best part is they did not disappoint, it was one of the best I’ve had. I always want more sauce so it could have used a little more but it was crispy, no air pockets between the cutlet and the crust, I mean it was worth it 1000%.
In town for a work trip and needed someplace a little more quiet to chat. A local coworker recommended the drinks, and WOW, was he right! Amazing craft cocktails that reminded even this seasoned bartender of the art is really can be in addition to the unique ambiance and fabulous staff made for a great experience all around. I wouldn't hesitate a moment to go back.
Interesting restaurant design concepts. The decor is almost like worshipping Satan or Goth. Haha. But it is not the bad kind, it pretty cool btw. We were here slightly too early for dinner, so it practically empty. The food on menu is towards Eastern European cuisine which mostly I am not familiar with except the schnitzel. They have some bloody good drinks also. Pricing is pretty average and the service is not bad. I would recommend to come here for a drink at night to soak in the atmosphere.
An absolute GEM. So glad we stopped in for drinks, each one we ordered was delightful. Exploring their menu is honestly fun, their Hungarian food is delicious. The flatbreads are shareable because so big, & I will be craving it more. The spatzle was yummy & a good texture. Aaliyah (sorry if misspelled) was a wonderful host to our group & made the experience even better. The back patio made me so happy. Huge heaters floating above made us forget it was cold outside.
The first time we ate here we don’t love it and they don’t have the pastor taco 😞 so we want to go again and the second time was amazing so hopefully always be like the second and the first only was a bad day, by the other side they need more friendly servers both times they were like really unfriendly. The “pulpo al pastor” taco is amazing I repeat amazing! If you’re on deep ellum I recommend this spot.
For sure, the tacos bop. They're nom-a-riffic, and sitting up at the bar is a great way to go here. Friendly service. Tasty tacos. And those tacos? Really good. One might say they're worthy of being on Netflix's Taco Chronicles good, because, well, they were. And that one taco? The octopus carnitas taco? It's hella tasty. And that's just it. Maybe the tasty tacos went to their head a bit? Maybe it was Netflix. There's a weird vibe here. Like they need to prove that they're cool and hip and whatever is the new slang. Eating, brother. Whatevs. Sure, they were on Taco Chronicles. Know what? They'll put it on the TV to show you. It's like they need to prove they're so cool and saw that one indie band in a speakeasy basement bar in Fort Greene before they sold out and blew up huge. But. Maybe just concentrate on tasty tacos instead? 'Cause they have tasty tacos. They also have a DJ stand. You know, for tacos.
Had the Pörkölt for dinner there a couple of weeks ago at the bar and it was fine. A bit bland for my taste but perhaps it's authentic Hungarian; first time having Hungarian. Service was super friendly and the Bohemian vibe of the place and patrons was inviting. Very nice craft beer selection. Can't remember the unique cocktail I had but it was a bit sweet; wished it was more balanced. The space has a cool vampires lair vibe.
A standout establishment in the Deep Ellum bar district, while the clubs and street sounds are in full swing, you step into a gothic (almost medieval) themed bar that is unlike anything else in the area. There is a unique outdoor patio which hosts live music on occasion, and the drink menu is as unique as the place itself. The food is also Hungarian themed, with unusual creations as well as fun twists on regular fare. It was busy on a Friday night, and service was reasonable - certainly worth checking out, even if it your only stop in the Deep Ellum area.
My party of 3 came in early on a Saturday, service and food was just okay, I was expecting better flavor for the hype and upscale price. I may come back to try their Sunday brunch, maybe that will be a better option.
This Deep Ellum taco bar has gotten a fair share of very positive press over the years, and the food here is quite good. The tacos are fresh and inventive, delivered on excellent handmade tortillas. Service here was a little off on my visit, however. It seems like servers are matching the quality of service more to the intentionally casual “street taco bar” atmosphere than the high menu prices dictate. That said, if you are in the area and don’t mind paying the elevated prices for great tacos and beer in a dive bar space, it’s a good option.
This place has good drinks and some good food but it is DEFINITELY OVERPRICED in my opinion for tacos and appetizers. The portions are tiny for what they charge you. You can definitively find cheaper and better tasting Mexican food/tacos at other places in Dallas. I was disappointed since I liked their first location but this second location didn’t quite cut it out for me. The seating is limited at the bar unless u sit at one of the outdoor tables (hopefully u have good weather) The sope appetizer were 4 literally bite size sopes for $19?!! That’s a total rip off!!! We paid $95 after taxes for two ppl, that’s ridiculous for Mexican food and it’s not even fine dining. Would not come back.
The guys (see photo) behind the counter with the red nails was extremely rude and racist. I ordered 2 tacos from Rusbelis (young lady at the register) and I also asked for sodas. She pointed to the right of me to let me know where the sodas were located. She spoke very limited English but okayed me to get the 2 sodas. As I began to walk towards her to finish checking out, I lifted the two drinks up so that she could see them and she nodded. The guys (see photo) at the bar looked at me, frowned, and rudely asked what I was doing. I explained that the lady who took my ordered okayed me to get the two sodas. Rusbelis was watching the entire interaction as I was walking towards her. He stated that she couldn't have done that because she didn't speak English. She informed him in Spanish that she told me it was okay. In English she even said, it's okay. Very oddly, the guy in the photo walked down a little further, stood in front of me after I paid for my order, he snapped a photo of me with his phone. Then he started throwing his fingers and speaking to Rusbelis in Spanish. I started videoing him afterwards. I used Google translator to speak to Rusbelis and she stated that she didn't know why he was acting like that and she apologized but, that's not good enough for me. The guy is has a nasty attitude, disrespectful, and kept frowning his face up at me for no apparent reason. I would NEVER recommend this establishment. I would give you all 0 Stars if it was an option.
I really was looking forward to this place, hearing how delicious the food is, but was outrageously disappointed. I watched everyone around me get their food, and as I waited an upwards of 25 minutes I asked where my food was and was told “it should have been brought out” when it wasn’t. My server proceeded to walk away and not ask if I wanted something else, and I ended up not eating any entree. Service was buns but my drink was fire.
Edit: Worst octopus I’ve ever had. Been coming here for years, telling everyone about how amazing it was. They got rid of it and finally brought it back, so we went. DISGUSTING. And also- only two now for $25?? Come on. We pulled a bunch of stringy stuff off of the two little arms and had an extremely hard time cutting them. When we were able to get the pieces cut we it took forever to chew the rubber band textured meat. The flavor was also gross. Extremely fishy. It was a COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT. I would have been happier eating McDonald’s. Thankfully we order the hot dog, which was lame too. The chips that came with it were the only thing worth eating. I drove almost an hour to specifically come here to have the octopus. GET IT TOGETHER or keep it gone. See old review below from a year ago. Been coming here for years and I guess this is it now. Best grilled octopus I’ve ever had. Their other food is really good too. The decor is really cool and it’s laid back. Live music some nights. A lot of unique drink options.
