Las Golondrinas Mexican Food

This has always been one of my family’s favorite, most authentic Mexican places in Orange County. We eat here often and I always make sure to get some when I come back home. Their BRC burritos are delicious, their enchiladas are great and their chips are insanely good. There’s a reason they are now found in local grocery stores!

Fast service even when line is out the door. The food is fantastic. They easuly have some of the best chips and guacamole in southern California. Been going to different locations for the last 20 years and have never once been disappointed. Also their mini bean and cheese burritos are great for parties!

Las Golondrinas never disappoints! The food is fresh, flavorful, and always hits the spot. The meats are perfectly seasoned, the tortillas taste homemade, and the portions are generous for the price. Service is quick and friendly, and it has that authentic, local spot feel. Definitely one of my go-to places for great Mexican food!

This place is amazing, especially Capo beach location. They have awsome customer service! Emma and Isabella (forgive my spelling) are such hard workers and great with customers because they lead by example and dont get frustrated with people. They remain professional even when customers are being rude. Also ive noticed how quick and efficient the cooks are because as soon as they get the order they start working together flawlessly while laughing and getting along, shoutout to Carla the cook with the best California burrito.

Above all, it's a super friendly staff. They've made their own, unique menu of Mexican food. This place is very nostalgic for me, having grown up in the area. Every now and then the rice is undercooked, or the tortilla gets a little too soggy. Anyhow, it's great, but not perfect (;

Good Mexican food. Enchiladas were good, as well as the asada burrito. It's almost like a fast food restaurant without the drive thru. Pretty large menu, anything you could want seemed to be on it. I don't remember seeing any seating inside (maybe one or two tables?). But there are tables and chairs outside if you want to eat it right away. We will definitely be back.

Delicious home made guac and chips. I had the carne asada tacos... they were huge and as delicious as it was I could only eat one. They make their own tortillas 👍Quick note... they did add beans to their tacos so if you don't like beans ask for your taco with meat only.

Great local chain. You can order ahead... Actually, you SHOULD order ahead. Otherwise plan on waiting. Love their chips. Good taco Tuesday. A little pricey.

Food was great both times I went. Got a Carne Asada burrito and the 2nd visit was a fajita burrito. I enjoyed both . There where 2 ladies working up front one was kind the other was short and a bit rude. But could have been a bad day for her. Overall would go back again for sure

Fast service—everything was to go. Carne Asade burrito was loaded with lots of meat—portions were good and burrito was only 7 bucks. The beans tasted a bit interesting but overall meal was filling for the price.

Pretty lame. And closed both New Year’s Day and the second? I get that people need time off, but how am I supposed to get my tamale fix?

I normally love this place but I came from out of town craving bunuelos but non of the sugar part was actually stuck to the chips. Luckily I bought one with a lot in the bottom of the bag to scoop onto the chips.

Today was not a good day for the customer service at this location, when usually it is. There was no greeting or any interest other than making a transaction on their part and to top it off, I ordered a drink and noticed a guy loading ice into the machine...I asked if I could get my drink while he was doing that and he just looked up and said "no" and went back to what he was doing. Today was a day where there were two people up front who didn't want to be there and it showed.

This location has lot faster service than one in Telega. I regularly get chips and guacamole here. Which is great. Today I had beef taco.first bite I noticed how salty it was. Yakkkk

The food was fairly dry, but had good flavor. The chicken salad did not have any dressing, so they offered salsa as a substitute 🤦‍♂️

Ordered a breakfast burrito with potato. It came with potato and egg. That’s it. Extremely plain and bland. No cheese, no salsa, no beans, nothing. They wouldn’t give me a water cup either, wanted to charge me for a soda. Trying to cut costs I guess, won’t return.

Carne asada burrito and tacos had more beans than meat, overpriced. They will only give you 2 fresh salsa packets, any more, then you have to pay for them. If a Sombrero, Roberto's and such opens nearby, they will go out of business. Obviously the locals have no idea about good Mexican fast food.

I had an asada burrito and it was the most lame burrito I've ever had, beens and meat only, no cheese, tomatoes or onion not even a little rice. Living in Los Angeles I know what a real burrito should be like. Horrible food here

Beef burritos have more beans than beef, bad taste, no restrooms. better go to chipotle

I've been coming here for a while now. It's always been delicious to varying degrees. Came in today for breakfast. I was sadly disappointed. The refried beans tasted burnt. Rice was dry. I didn't get scrambled eggs i ordered. It just didn't taste the way it's always tasted in the past. Hoping it improves.

I'm pretty sad to say that we just threw away both of our tacos (carne asada had beans in it??? And a super nasty cold shredded beef taco that I paid over $5 for EACH). I grew up eating here and thought it would be fun to take my kiddo here since we were in town but sadly I was mistaken. I don't know if there's new owners or what but it definitely went downhill. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I'm hoping we just had a bad experience 😬

Horrible food! Had the 2 chicken enchiladas with rice and beans and could not figure out what was in the enchiladas which had these small balls that I did not know whether they were canned potatoes or what. For all I know what was supposed to be chicken could have been cat or dog, unrecognizable stuff... the refried beans and rice were awful! 6 hours later my system is still trying to digest this food. Taco bell or del taco would have been a better choice.

Ordered 3items, Fish Taco, shredded beef taco, and bean n cheese burrito. All were bad ...some horrible! 1)Fish taco - almost NO fish and what was there was soggy with oil. Next up) Crispy shredded beef taco. Not a fresh tortilla and not prepared properly with the meat inside. Same as Taco Bell. The shredded beef was cold...ICE COLD ! Straight outta fridge! Are you kidding me ??? Lastly the burrito w cheese and salsa ... cold grated cheese, not melted, sitting on beans. Salsa that was requested was missing in action. And the beans were half cooked and half cold ! This used to be the go to place for authentic mex food, one step below El Champeon . Now? worse than taco bell. Serving staff did not even offer to heat anything up. Unbelievable! Never again!

A To-Go restaurant that refuses to ever answer the phone... EVER!.. don't bother trying to place an order at this place in advance... and after you get there be prepared to wait 20 or 30 minutes for a burrito.. OH and don't expect even a smile from anyone who works here when you go pick your stuff up .. I think that they think they're doing you a favor allowing you to purchase food here LOL.. I've been going here for many years and putting up with and it never gets better in fact it's worse.. I'll never go back!!!

Literlally the worst carne asada burrito I’ve ever had. It was 90% beans, 10% Asada, wrapped in a tortilla. Garbage.

ordered a bean and cheese burritto and had a bag of chips. waited..... someone came in ordered, got their order, I said I'm still waiting, he said I only got two bean and cheese, I said I got one. He was surprised. Then another couple ordered, got theirs and left. Went to the counter and just got a reversal on my card. checked it when I got home and they left the burrito charge on my card. 😡 Had Citibank contest it.

I have been eating Las Golondrinas all my life. Love the food. The employees at the Capo beach location put so much effort into being rude. The staff was too busy complaining about poor service he received at another establishment to do his own job and told me he could only give me 2 salsas when I ordered 3 items then threw the additional salsa I asked for in the trash in front of me, as another employee watched and smiled. Literally preferred to waste it then make a customer happy. Bitter and awful attitude here, too many good places to waste money here. Done and done.

Had the most unpleasant encounter with the employee Emma. We ordered food and the food was made wrong. So we called to try to speak to someone about the issue. Emma who was the cook, answered the phone and told my partner to eat like a dog. She then calls him back with the number blocked. I decided to call the store to speak to the Manager to handle to issue, Emma answers the phone and starts the threaten me saying she will the call the police. This women does not know me personally but was extremely disrespectful over the phone. I kept getting interrupted while I was trying to say the issue was our food being made wrong. She was making it a personal problem, and being disrespectful. I was kind on the phone and said i was more than happy to return to the store and show them the food but she threatened to call the cops on us for no reason. I went to the location in San Juan and when i mentioned to the employees there what happened they said this lady is known to have this type of behavior and apologized. It’s really bad customer service and makes it a bad experience. We were just trying to enjoy the food that we paid for, but with this encounter we will not be returning to the Doheny location.

But they are just as bad. Their place of business needs a good cleaning too.
