What a great experience I had at the bar. Bartenders very attentive and they literally explained the menu for me. To start I had the strawberry chocolate martini. And it was on point with everything. Appetizer I had the crab cake so far the best I ever had. Main course I always get Chicken smoked Mozzarella Ravioli cooked to perfection. Always fresh and delicious. Best part of this place it’s the staff they make you feel like home. I can substitute change anything and they don’t mind at all. Since I’m with gluten allergies they always comfort my needs. Thank you I will be back for sure
Had a great dinner here with the food and service being exceptional. There is a huge upscale bar separate from the dining room and even an enclosed patio room for al fresco-like dining. I noticed they had pizza for delivery or takeout so I tried it for dinner and it did not disappoint. Other menu options we had were the short rib pasta and fig bruschetta which is highly recommended. Its only a few minutes from the Danbury Palace Theater, so if you're planning to see a show, stop here for dinner!
Dolce Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience that reminds me of Italy . My wife and I recently visited for a special evening out, and I can confidently say that our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Upon entering Dolce, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with elegant decor and soft lighting that set the perfect tone for a romantic dinner. The attentive staff welcomed us with smiles and promptly seated us at a cozy table, allowing us to settle in on delightful menu. One of the highlights of our evening was undoubtedly the wine selection. We opted for a bottle of Caymus, a superb choice that perfectly complemented our meal. The restaurant boasts an impressive array of both red and white wines, catering to diverse palates and preferences. The waiter was knowledgeable and offered excellent recommendations, ensuring we found the perfect pairing for our dishes. His name was Rocco For appetizers, we had crab cake and the lobster cold. The crab cake was a standout, boasting a delightful blend of flavors with a crispy exterior and tender, succulent crab meat. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and attention to detail. My wife's choice of cold lobster was equally impressive, featuring fresh, perfectly cooked lobster that was both sweet and savory. To top it off, we were treated to a complimentary fresh house salad, which was a lovely surprise and a refreshing start to our meal. Moving on to the main course, we chose the shrimp and scallops dish, which was beautifully presented . The shrimp were plump and juicy, while the scallops were seared to perfection—golden on the outside and tender within. The dish was expertly seasoned, balancing the natural sweetness. My wife, on the other hand, selected the spicy rigatoni with vodka sauce, and I can honestly say it was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever tasted. The rigatoni was cooked al dente, and the vodka sauce was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of spice to elevate the dish without overwhelming it. It was a perfect choice for anyone who enjoys a bit of heat in their pasta. As if we weren't already thoroughly satisfied, we couldn't resist the temptation of dessert. We decided to share the house-made chocolate lava cake , which was simply divine. It was rich, velvety—an absolute must-try for chocolate lovers. The portion was generous, making it Highly recommended. Best Italian food we ever had in Danbury
Who wants to cook after a flight from Paris to NY, so we decided to stop here and give it a try… we were very pleased and surprised at the warm pub like atmosphere in the bar area. We opted for a couple of seats around the bar instead of the hi top tables as there were many to choose from. The holiday music & garland with lights only pleased me more. The red hue in the ceiling might be a permanent light. Our bartender was pleasant & made a great tasting margarita & kept the beers cold & flowing for my boyfriend. Just an FYI Dolce does not have tap beet. We decided to try a couple of apps from the Happy Hour menu (Thursdays is Ladies Night too) we ordered the Brussel Spouts & Mushroom Risotto. The Risotto was perfect & wonderful. The Brussel Sprouts were a bit dry & faux bacon. If there was more of a glaze to the sprouts, I’d five stars for the apps. We will be back to try more dishes that’s for sure!
I cannot say enough good things about my recent dinner at Dolce in Danbury. The salmon dish was awesome! The fish itself was cooked to absolute perfection—flaky, tender, and incredibly flavorful and was served with Jasmine rice and a vegetable medley! Let’s talk about the Espresso Martini!! It was perfectly balanced—rich, smooth, and with just the right amount of a caffeine kick, without being overly sweet. The service was impeccable. Our server was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. They anticipated our needs without being intrusive, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring every part of our meal was perfect. The entire staff seemed to operate with a level of professionalism and care that truly elevated the experience. If you're looking for an amazing meal in Danbury, do yourself a favor and visit Dolce. You won't be disappointed!
What a pleasant surprise! As someone that frequents the North End in Boston I was very impressed with this meal. We were greeted at the door with a big smile and immediately sat down in the bar area (a personal favorite of mine). Our server Jordan was super helpful, I mentioned it was our first time here as out of town guests to Danbury CT and she took the time to answer all our questions! And trust me...I have an annoying amount of them! The pasta was homemade and cooked to perfection, the portions were big enough to have leftovers! Jordan mentioned to the owner it was our first time and he wanted to end our meal with complimentary Lemoncello or Sambuca. We elected for the lemoncello and it was great! I recommend going if you want to be treated like a local! They have a cute patio for nicer weather! This is a must visit.
Got the halibut in lobster sauce last night...excellent. halibut isn't usually a fish i jump for but Dolce always does a great fish so I gave it a try and anything in their lobster sauce is a winner. Seared perfectly and I asked the bartender for a recommendation for a wine pairing and she nailed it. 10/10 will go again soon
Wow! We were looking for something new and found Dolce on a recommendation from a friend. It was outstanding! Great service (Megan was fantastic) and everything was cooked perfectly. Great wine list too. We started with the Brussels Sprouts (sorry, no picture). My wife had the Seafood Paella and I had the Chicken Scarpiello. Finished it off with the Key Lime dessert special and Raspberry Sorbet. We are lucky to live near NYC where the restaurants have to be good to stay in business. Dolce was that good - truly an experience not to be missed.
Dolce restaurant and wine bar is absolutely amazing. The food is always excellent and our bartender Alyssa was 5 star. Hands down the best in the area. Have been coming here every Sunday for the past 2 years for open mic night with Billy Michael’s, Would come again!!
❤ABSOLUTELY LOVE DOLCE! Food was so delicious (as you can see from my photos). My family and I had such a great time. The waiters and waitresses were so caring and attentive. The food tasted fresh, perfectly seasoned and was cooked to perfection. My mother is an incredible cook, and she always makes Italian, (because we are Italian- DUH 😅) and we all felt that the food was something similar to what you would get as a home cooked meal!!! We will definitely be returning soon!!! Thank you for such a great night!
100% recommend, we went there for my birthday and had such a good time. For appetizer we had peach and burata board, was so good. For dinner we had salmon with lobster sauce, was amazing! In the end they brought me a piece of tiramisu cake while singing me happy birthday, made my whole night. I highly recommend this place, service was good and food was fresh.
Fabulous bistro in the heart of Danbury! Stopped by after a recommendation from my new favorite sales guy @ Danbury Audi...great suggestion! Pizza was great, ambience was chill, good vibe. Waiter was extremely attentive and fast
There's no shortage of places to eat on Mill Plain Rd, but Dolce should be on your short list. Inside there is a bar area partitioned from the cozy dining area, and a separate "3 season room" that also doubles for events. The food is Italian and spectacular, with authentic hard-to-find favorites like Putanesca with shrimp and calamari. The entrees look fantastic, taste fantastic and are well portioned. There is a moderate sized wine list with a spectrum of choices, but there is always a handful of special concoctions from the bar also available. On the Sunday night we ate there a man with an acoustic guitar rifled through a fantastic playlist providing a relaxing background to our meal. Overall a wonderful experience.
Amazing food. There are so many delicious looking options and only so much time in the area. I tried the chicken and smoked mozzarella ravioli with a creamy sausage sauce. The crab cake appetizer was delicious as well with mango and a pesto style sauce.
Delicious food, attentive service and a welcoming staff! Loved it.
Came here after a day at the mall, the atmosphere is great and has a “prohibition” type of theme. The food was very good as well, had the rice balls and paella to eat. Definitely would recommend this place!
Food is very good ! Nice environment for groups and family. Romantic. Great service. Reservations recommended. Little pricey plenty of food! Well worth it.
GREAT GREAT FOOD! awesome customer service. Lots of parking. Practicing Covid-19 safety measures. 5 starts all around. Definitely going back!
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Danbury! I’ve been coming here for years, and it somehow just keeps getting better. Amazing food & great service!!!
First time was amazing, drinks were so good, all* the food was delicious. My guest and I had the mussels as an appetizer, we had the sirloin and lobster, shrimp fettuccine for entrees, and the in-house tiramisu, which all was so delicious. I will be coming back!!
Stoped by to try their food after reading so many good reviews. Absolutely amazing food. Excellent service from Lorenzo ! Highly recommend.
In town visiting friends and they just happened to choose this place. Excellent ambience, service and food. A very wide menu and wine selection. Great service and friendly staff. Especially happy with the owner Benny who came in clutch by helping us track down a person who hit our vehicle while we were inside eating and then ran from the scene. Would recommend anyone try this restaurant!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dolce Restaurant for a family gathering, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences we’ve had. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The chicken parmigiano—it was simply outstanding! Cooked to perfection, the chicken was tender and juicy, and the rich marinara sauce with the melted cheese. It’s hands down one of the best I've ever had! Aside from the delicious food, the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Overall, Dolce Restaurant provided an unforgettable dining experience that brought our family together over fantastic food. I can’t wait to return and try more of their menu!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere! Rocco was the best and very attentive! The shrimp and scallop lemon risotto was chef's kiss!
Atmosphere is fantastic. Food delicious. Service great. Wine selection was amazing. Advice…go get a pie and a bottle of wine.
This is the place to eat in Danbury CT. The Service was absolutely amazing. Our food was the most delicious Italian food. The price is affordable. We felt like we were the only people there. Though this Restaurant was full. The atmosphere was romantic. We had a appetizer and drinks first. I loved, that we never felt rushed. Everything was made fresh. After out appetizer ( fried mozzarella & marinara sauce). We ordered out entree, I had chicken parm, My husband had clams linguine, and my cousin had pasta with marinara. Salad came with each entree. Each meal was perfect , everything came out with a little time in between . So you never felt rushed to eat what you had for the next item. The owner came to our table and asked how everything was. He was on the floor at all times and he had plenty of people to serve and clear. He sent us all a drink before we left. If your in Danbury and like Italian food, this place is the place to go.
stopped in for the prosciutto and buratta salad and some wings … they were both excellent! special thanks to lorenzo and chris ! great service
pick up was very good the person greeting me at pick up counter was great problem when i went into restaurant to pick up i was shooed away as if i was in wrong place and directed next door to pick up attitude was if i walked into the wrong store or if i was stupid for not seeing the pick up sign may not return as a result food was great
A wonderful place for lunch! Food is fresh with a nice selection on the menu and delicious food and the staff very helpful and friendly! Highly recommend personal pizzas, eggplant.
Right when I got to Dolce, I felt a warm welcoming from the staff. Not to mention, the vibe was incredibly cozy and it felt comfortable to be there. The Italian rigatoni was absolutely incredible. The pasta was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of sauce making each bite packed with flavor. It tasted rich, fresh, and clearly homemade, not rushed or watered down at all. The portion was generous and super satisfying, and you can tell a lot of care went into making it. Easily one of the best rigatoni dishes I’ve had—100% worth ordering again.
This Italian restaurant was absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, with a cozy yet elegant vibe. The food was the highlight—everything tasted fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were rich without being heavy, and the portions were just right. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of without being overbearing. You can tell they really care about both the food and the experience they give their guests. Overall, this place is a must-visit if you’re craving real Italian comfort food. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Im amazed with this place. Every time we visit. It just get better and better. They change the specials twice a week. And you never see the same items there. Always something new. This week I tried the amazing Bronx Chicken Parm with hot cherry peppers and vodka sauce. By far best chicken parm I ever had. They do give a lot of food. So you get what you pay for. Appetizer not to forget Grandmas meatballs with ricotta another MUST try appetizers. This place never disappoints. Highly recommended. Dolce will be best Italian restaurant in Danbury
I can't recommend Dolce enough. The food is outstanding (my favorite being the chicken parm)! The atmosphere is warm and inviting & the service is top notch. Our usual waiter Lorenzo is extremely attentive and welcoming as is the rest of the staff. This is my go-to spot for an exceptional dining experience!! Thank you, Team Dolce!!!!
We had a wonderful experience at Dolce, thanks to Lorenzo. The food was excellent, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and Lorenzo’s attentive, friendly service truly elevated the evening. He made us feel welcome and ensured everything was perfect from start to finish. A great dining experience overall we’ll definitely be back. Thank you!!
I’ve been coming here for a few years, and it’s one of my favorite places to both grab a nice meal and a great drink. The staff are both professional and personable, and everything tastes amazing and fresh. I love coming here with my group of girlfriends for happy hour and Thursday ladies nights. Never a bad experience in here
We had dinner in their pub-like dining room. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and then spent time getting to enjoy Rocco’s warm and amusing personality. Our busser , Chris, did an excellent job of taking care of us. The Pasta Fagioli soup was delicious and the main courses of salmon and eggplant florentine were tasty and enough for two additional meals!! We’re from out-of-town and our meal compared favorably in food quality and service with restaurants that are much more expensive. Kudos to the owners for creating a fine place.
I had such a wonderful time at Dolce Restaurant! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a cozy and authentic feel. The staff was friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh ingredients and rich flavors in every dish. Portions were generous, and everything was beautifully presented. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. I would definitely come back and highly recommend.
Dolce is my favorite restaurant in the area!! They have amazing food and a great bar, the staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant is always nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a casual lunch/dinner or for a special occasion!! Enjoy!
Drove over an hour to come to Dolce. Rocco has never met us before and treated our group like family from the moment we walked in. Very professional service, gave great recommendations, very inviting and friendly. Pricing is extremely reasonable as the food is made with fresh ingredients and made with care, ice cold drinks, and great atmosphere, will be coming back very soon!
Hidden gem in Danbury. The food is absolutely delicious. From their ravioli to their strip steak to their pies. Beautiful freaking pies. Their sauce is amazing. Highly recommend!
Great restaurant. It seems to be designed to handle large parties. Great seating for individuals or couples in the bar area. Good menu selection. Great wine menu. The service was good and friendly. The service seemed a little stretched due to the large tables. All in all a good experience. The restaurant is a little loud. I will definitely try this place again.
Upscale restaurant Danbury locals told us to choose when we inquired where we should dine in the area. This is when, again, half stars would be helpful for GM reviews. Dolce is 4.5 - 4.7. We were lucky on a late Monday night to have our choice of seating in the main dining room along with very attentive service, as they are crowded on popular nights and the atmosphere is different. Warm and spacious interior that mixes old and new design. The Dolce logo branded on the wood tables is a nice touch. Special menu items consisted of dishes a patron could only say yes to. From this, we ordered the Oysters Rockefeller. A different interpretation from the classic style, but still tasty with the creamed spinach dressing. Our two entrées from the main menu, Veal Milanese with arugula and Shrimp and Scallops on lemon risotto were both very good. A fine dessert menu tempted my partner into ordering his favorite Créme Brûlée. This with a Dolce coffee, sent us happily out the door.
I didn’t have a great experience. We ordered a personal Di Parma pizza and the burrata appetizer with prosciutto, but received the wrong pizza. The burrata was underwhelming, lacking the usual creamy center, and the prosciutto was very thick with an unexpected smoky flavor. We also waited a long time for our entrées. When they arrived, the portions were confusing, someone seated next to us had the same dish and theirs was noticeably larger. One person ordered pasta, and two of us ordered the chicken Sorrentino special, which was served on a large plate but had a very small portion. When the bill came, we were still charged for the pizza and saw that the chicken entrées were treated as if we had shared one dish, including a shared plate fee, which we never requested. We clearly ordered two separate chicken Sorrentino entrées.
Been to Dolce 2x. 1st time was several months ago. 1st time the food and service were both better. 2d time (tonight) was not a good showing. Bruschetta w/fig and feta was good. Shrimp cocktail: shrimp were fine; cocktail sauce needed more “heat” - putting some additional horse radish on the side would have been appreciated. Veal Milanese was fair - needed more sauce and flavor. Service was very disappointing. Maybe our server was new. Reasonably friendly, but his visits were scarce and very delayed. He disappeared for long stretches particularly when we wanted to order and later when we wanted the check. He only partially cleared the table of spent dishes between courses and did not do any clean up. Dolce can and should do better.
I ordered take out. The pasta was not what I ordered, obviously the person taking the order didn't listen. I repeated my order. The puney slice of veal was overcooked and the tiny salad was a joke. The bread was not cooked enough. Almost raw. I called and told them that the pasta was wrong and I wanted a credit. They told me I had to bring it back. Kind of defeats the purpose!!. They can charge your credit card for the food but they can't give you a credit on your card? The food used to be good. I'll never go back. Plenty of better restaurants around that care about pleasing their customers.
Today I dined at this place, which has a very sweet and cozy atmosphere. I decided to come because of its high ratings and positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience with the main dish did not meet my expectations. I ordered the pappardelle with veal ragù, expecting a traditional tomato-based ragù. At no point was I informed that this was a white ragù, prepared without tomatoes. The dish arrived as pappardelle with veal and a reduction of carrots, onions, and celery, but without a tomato sauce or much depth of flavor. Sadly, I found the dish to be quite bland and lacking seasoning, especially for a ragù, which is usually rich and flavorful. When the server asked if everything was okay, I politely explained that I had expected a tomato-based veal ragù. Instead of clarifying the style of the dish beforehand, her response was simply, “That’s how we prepare it here,” in a tone I found dismissive and not very welcoming. I believe this type of dish should be explained more clearly on the menu or by the staff, as not everyone assumes ragù will be served as a white sauce. Better communication would have greatly improved the experience.
Maybe decent for in house. Picked up some “ food” for $58 and it was as bad as a two bit wedding. An embarrassment of a salad a side of spinach that looked and tasted like a micro waved bag and low end Bar mitzvah penne with pink sauce and rubber chicken awful. Hack shop on delivery or pick up Avoid these are actual photos
Never in my life have I had a restaurant tell us that it’s busy and we need to leave the table immediately after finishing. Mind you we had reservations and our table spent over $300.00 and we were planning on going to the bar after dinner to spend even more money. Dolce Restaurant & Wine Bar we will NEVER be back.
A very big suggestion to this owner that I know they will not follow. I know you have 2 to 3 and maybe even four chefs. Why don’t you make sure that they are consistent with making meals the same way? You come in and get a great meal. Come in another time and it’s totally different and horrible. The last time I ordered chicken Parmesan. It was fantastic with a lot of sauce. This time I purposely asked for extra sauce and to make it spicy it came with very little sauce, extremely dry and very bland. The last time the chicken was very tender. This time the chicken was very tough. I ordered a Caesar salad. All that was in there was lettuce thrown in there like nothing. The dressing was atrocious. I know you don’t care because you do quantity not quality. I can’t see myself going back there, especially due to the fact that I really honestly believe that you don’t care. You will continue to get one star reviews with this attitude
We had reservations. We were eating dinner as a group, spent a lot of money. We got apps, entrées and drinks. Our plan was to go to the bar after we were done eating. As soon as we finished we were met with a lady requesting that we leave because they needed our table. That is crazy. If we knew that was going to happen we would have went with a better place with better service like black angus. We will never be back.
