Akira Bistro

I went here with a group of seven and ordered so that everybody got to sample everything. The food was great, staff were nice, and best of all the food was delivered at the perfect pace. We were never overloaded or empty.

Ordered takeout. Two dinners and a few sushi rolls. Excellent flavor, on time service. Great quality and value.

Great neighborhood sushi spot! Garlic edamame is so good! Great customer service and cocktails. The rolls are wonderful as well!

Been a long time since I dined here and forgot how good everything was. From the garlic edamame to the variety of rolls we tried...all were delicious! They have a smaller, but nice patio for outdoor seating.

This might seem random, but I was so impressed by the extensive cleaning they did at the end of the night. This alone will have me frequenting Akira from now on.

Our new favorite Sushi place. Have been here a few times and never been disappointed. Service is excellent and in comparison to our previous regular which is nearby, we found this is to be less expensive, better tasting and generous portions. Definitely a must try if you want to deviate from your regular for a change.

Nice, local place. Lots of choices and the food was not only tasty but also beautiful! The only reason I didn't rate a 5 is because they were badly understaffed and they took 20+ minutes to take our order. However, once the order was submitted, the food was served quickly. Will definitely return!

We come here quite often during dinner. One evening the servers kept staring at us standing by our table because they were going to close soon. They didn’t have to stand so close to our table like we were being rushed. We knew what time they closed. But the food is always great!

The food was good. I had the sashimi, miso soup, and a salad. The garlic edamame and the salad was wonderful. The sashimi was okay. Some of the fish was great and some of the other fish was just okay. The prices were average for sushi. I would go back.

The sushi was amazingly fresh and delicious, but the night we were there the service was terribly slow. The food and hot tea was worth the wait though.

Greasy soft shelled crab, tasteless spicy hamachi roll (that's a misnomer!) with a weird reddish drizzle, white tuna that had seen better days. Yuck. Add insult to injury, very overpriced.

The place was noisy. The wait staff was overwhelmed. The wait for seating was long, on a Wednesday night. The wait for the food ordered was even longer, 45 minutes for my main dinner, grilled mackerel, which was served cold and looked like it was only half cooked. Our other food order came trickling in one by one. One order, the mixed tempura, was never served but was added to the bill. Could be we caught them on a bad night.

Definitely not authentic sushi. A lot of weird sweet sauces added to all the rolls. As if they're trying hard to mask the actual fish. Felt lethargic and ill after eating the food at Akira.

Showed up at 8:58 PM on a Sunday. Their doors were locked and they said they closed at 9:00 PM on Sunday, which is screened into their glass storefront. Google Maps said 9:30PM just like their own website does (obviously wrong.) Went out of the way to find this place which was supposed to be open, as I was driving through on 680, and I am not from anywhere near Danville. The posted hours matter! I suggested a map change of 9:00PM and it got approved automatically because of my Google map Guide status; then somebody un-did the edit, it went back to 9:30p. THEY CLOSE AT 9 ON SUNDAYS! Don't mislead people! Please fix your website, too.

I had to disassemble every single roll to look for more plastic before I could enjoy any food. I’m sorry, Akira – you lost a long time customer.
