Luna Loca is a great find. I was originally looking for a place to throw steel-tipped darts with my son, and this restaurant popped up in my Internet search results. We visited and found three very well maintained dart boards mounted in a side room, which also hosts a few arcade games and a side by side basketball shooting game. There's a bar with several beer taps and the capability to mix up most cocktails, as well as a full Mexican restaurant. I've since joined the Thursday night dart league, and had countless drinks and a few lunches there. No complaints! Did I mention they have a "Taco Tuesday" taco bar? Yum! There's plenty of seating both at the bar and at the numerous booths and tables both inside and outside. The bartenders are great, as is the owner, who is an almost ever-present fixture at Luna Loca. I love this place and the people who work and visit there. Come see for yourself, I don't think you'll be disappointed
Great food and atmosphere! These are just a bonus since 8 came here for darts. Perfect darts venue and hangout place. Kudos to Jake and crew. Highly recomended!
Great food and nice people working here. Really good table salsa too! Go for Happy Hour and get $2 off apps $8 margaritas.
Great little restaurant to get some good Mexican food! Meet some friends or family here and have a good meal. Staff is great and the atmosphere feels lively. 5/5 🙏🏼
Me and a buddy sat at the bar to watch a warriors game ..Service was above and beyond with lea at the helm. We ordered a sampler platter and a blackened chicken salad. Food was good and service was excellent. Drinks were on point. Will be back for sure..
Food was delicious. Good sized burritos that had incredible flavor and didn’t lack authenticity. Called in an order and the gentleman who I spoke with was very friendly and thorough with our order. I would highly recommend coming here.
As a frequent customer at Luna Loca with family & friends, I ventured to bring my small business group of 10-12 people there for our Holiday Meet-up last night -- I requested the back patio for some privacy, and set it up with the manager a month in advance. It was a great evening. They gave us plenty of room and didn't rush us to order dinner, giving us time to network and mingle with cocktails/chips/salsa. When we ordered dinner, the food was terrific and the waiter assigned to us was attentive and we kept him busy. Several folks in our group had not been there before, and they all said "we'll be back" because they liked the "local vibe" there - as we do. Great job, Luna!
It’s good Mexican food, it is spicy. The first time we ordered from here was takeout and the food was too spicy for my kids. My husband and I were able to eat all of it over the next day or two. And we love it, but my kids unfortunately won’t eat here because it’s too spicy.
It is a little pricey, but the food is consistently great. There are 2 types of atmospheres, with a dining area separated from the bar area which is awesome for those who want a quieter experience with no TVs. The bar area is one of the best in town when it comes to available seating and every table having access to at least 1 TV if you're there for a game. The staff is great and service is also great.
We enjoy Luna Loca very much. Their food is pretty consistently delicious. Our out of town company has always loved it and always ask to go there again. Thanks Luna Loca your staff is always pleasant and friendly.
Really good Mexican food at reasonable prices. The service was great. My only suggestion would be to add pork tamales to the menu. The chile relleno was excellent.
Food, and service are always fantastic, I cannot recommend this place enough. I originally discovered this place when my wife and I moved to San Ramon. We were in the mood for mexican food, and got a table. After we were sat, I looked over the half wall, and saw that they have dart boards. At least 6 steel tip, and 2 soft tip. Now my wife and I are there all the time, and even play in one of the dart leagues there together. They have a beginners league, and a more experienced one.
We had a wonderful experience here. We had an exceptional service, our waitress was amazing & patient - helped everyone to get exactly what they like. It's a great place to have Mexican food
Don’t know how we missed this lovely restaurant before! We love Mexican food and this restaurant didn’t disappoint us. We went on a Friday at 5:30pm with kids and the atmosphere there was already so lively and buzzing at the restaurant 😃, they also had their Happy Hour at that time. It was Good to see that they had a separate seated/table section for families and/or those who were not part of the Happy Hour or the bar section. Their menu and prices were good. The service was prompt. Food was delicious (chips n salsa, kids-chicken taquitas, kids-cheese quesadillas, Loco platter, molten chocolate lava cake -so yum) Their margaritas were amazing!! We tried Spicy margarita and Coyote margaritas and both were great 👌🏼
GREAT Mexican style menu. There is a special dish only reserved for the brave. It's spicy! It's their famous and awesome Chicken Picado. Don't ask what spices or chiles they use. Just brave it and enjoy. It's delicious and you won't regret it. I don't think too many people know about it, since their other dishes are more popular. So if you feel spicy, get this. The service is awesome, and the place has a great hometown vibe. They have a great bar area, too. Don't say I didn't warn you about how spicy the Chicken Picado is!
Love this place. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices. It hit the spot. Very yummy food and drinks. Authentic NOT taco bell type.
Food was good, not enough beef on the sizzling beef fajitas, but it was tasty. Service was good. The chimichanga was also tasty beef a little too spicy hot for me. We'll go back.
Luna loca is one of my favorite spots to grab dinner in Danville. I switch it up every time I go, but some of my favorite are the steak burrito, fajitas on a stick, and the carne salsa plate. My family always comes here, the environment is welcoming and the staff are very nice. I've you're looking for Mexican food, you should definitely try it out! Also their green salsa is the best!
Great place and food, people are nice, ordered Veg Chimichanga n Cheese Enchiladas, and spicy Picado sauce on side, enjoyed it.

Great restaurnat! Great staff. We got catering done for our event. They took care of everything. Setting up, making sure we don't run out of food/rinks. We would always use them!
Classic Mexican food that was fresh and and large portions. The service was quick and friendly. Excellent value.
Best mexican food I have had in a while. Super authentic and the staff seem very nice and fast service !
Great lunch with shady outside tables. Steak taco salad was fresh and delicious. Like that the table chips and salsa comes with 2 different salsas - The green salsa also delicious and red was good but very spicy. Quite a few creative seafood options. A little pricey but worth it. Will be back.
Really surprised this place is not rated higher. The cuisine was the most authentic I've ever had at a restaurant. Just about indistinguishable from my mom's. I was impressed from the light crispy corn chips and salsa to the soft taco, guacamole and tamal. All my family loved this place !!
Excellent Mexican restaurant with a nice variety of options from the menu. Ingredients were fresh and high quality prepared with just enough sauce to add a delicate taste but not overwhelm the dish. Friendly and efficient service with reasonable prices. Drinks from the bar were too strong for us but our waiter brought additional mix for each drink so we can dilute them.

We were seated in the restaurant side, There was loud rock music in the bar and Mexican music on the restaurant side, couldn't hear either well, and bar side was to loud. Chicken tortilla soup was way to spicy for me even though our server sd it wasn't. I changed it for salad in a tortilla bowl w chicken; much better.
I've ordered to go as well as eating there on a Saturday around 7. Both times the food was great. The folks that work there (not just at the bar) are wonderful. Best to sit of you ha e some time on your hands, otherwise to go is the way to go for you. Lots of TVs with various sports games on. Full bar.
Great Mexican food restaurant. My only complaint was,we went on a Thursday when tacos are $3, beers are $4 and margaritas are $5. The bill had the margaritas as top shelf which we never ordered- $13 each! They fixed it, but CHECK YOUR BILL!
Went to this place weekly for over 10 years with our dining group. Food was always excellent. However, the last time we went there they would not split check by couple which always makes it hard to fairly divide check. No longer go to this restaurant.
Original margaritas are great- no skimping on tequila and grand marnier. Enjoyed the carnitas on my salad. Beans are whole and fresh. Chips and salsa are excellent. Service is spot on. They are there when needed!!! Will return.
I was sort of skeptical that I would find good Mexican food in downtown Danville (sorry, just being honest), but Luna Loca pleasantly surprised me. The ambiance, service and food were all very good, with generous portions. I will happily return!
$$$ We ordered Seafood Nachos I wanted to try something different. They were good. Ordered their special Sangria. It was ok. Service was good, waitress was very attentive.
This is the place I go for super bowl. They have $100 buy-in pool for your square which includes your food and it includes your drinks. There's a certain selection on the drinks and there's usually a lot of food. I had a very good time. The last two years that I've went also won one of the football pools. It's really nice. Everyone should do it. $100 sounds like a lot but it really isn't for what they give... All of the food there really looks good, not just what they do on super bowl. Try it out. Tell me if you like it
Good food and drinks. Friendly staff. Ambience is rest and ample space to sit indoors and outdoors.

The restaurant looked a bit run down. The food was alright. The rice didn't have a lot of flavor, and I don't think the rice was fully cooked. Their salsa was really good. Not sure I would go back to the restaurant, even if I was in the area for the day. This restaurant isn't what it used to be when I lived in Danville.
I really liked our interaction with the staff, but the food is not great. Cons: The burrito had a lot of tortilla and not a lot of filling (which also wasnt well seasoned). The burrito came standard with sauce on top (not great) and the guac didnt seem home-made. Pro: We ordered a side of chips and salsa and got a lot. That was nice and I liked the salsa.
The food was so bland. This makes it that much noticeable since it’s a Mexican restaurant.
Reliable spot. Food is usually pretty good and prices are reasonable, but sevice can get a bit slow. Also, have been served food that wasn't at the right temperature, and this also happened to my wife today. I would avoid the seafood salad as it is pretty fishy. Other menu items are pretty good
Slow service, took the chips away and didnt bring them back until we got our food and asked again. I had a mixed shrimp and chicken dish. Shrimp was perfectly cooked but chicken was really dry. I would have said something to the server but they never came back until they brought us the bill. I did say something on the way out b/c other than those things it wasn't too bad. The initial server who took our order was great.
We were seated after a brief wait. Wait staff was courteous. I ordered fajita tostada, which was soupy. My recommendation, do not order that. My wife ordered carnitas which was okay. Good portion, but the meat was not very flavorful. It was not noisy. Maybe screens showing sports. Restaurant was pretty full

The food didn't taste fresh but the drinks were good. The service was super slow. The young waiter was the only one working super hard but he held his composure well. Will we be back? Probably not. Will we recommend to our large group of friends? Probably not, also.
Went yesterday (7/3/18) for Happy Hour and ordered a margarita, beer, chicken nachos, and non-boneless wings. The margarita was too sweet, they brought beef instead of chicken nachos, and the wings were boneless. That aside, the nachos were too heavy and the wings were hockey pucks with too much sauce. The staff and ambience were great, as was the beer (though I ordered draft and they brought a bottle), but the food and attention to our order was less than stellar. Might try it again, as I had high hopes that this would be a regular place for us (only 2 miles away).
I've been going here for years, but something has changed for the worst. I went with a friend last week. This was the first time I had to wait for a bit to get a table. Our chips were burnt. We waited a long time to have our order taken and our food delivered. My dinner of nachos was dry and overcooked; my drink was awful. I ordered tequila with lime juice and got a lime slushie with NO tequila taste to it. Then, my debit card was taken. The manager on duty was rude and NOT helpful. I asked him to look through all of the bill folds. He refused. I gave him my name and number "in case" it showed up. He said, "Don't expect a call back." I did not LOSE my debit card. I entered Luna Loca with it. I left without it. I've had really good meals and service there for years. But this trip was a disaster.
The food is horrible: dried out old rice, the beans tasted like they were canned and the civeche was dried out, old and disgusting! FOOD IS HORRIBLE NO MEXICAN PRIDE AT ALL!! Why aren't there more true reviews of the taste of the food!!! I have had taco truck food better without a doubt.
Went on a Saturday for brunch, based off the reviews for this place, I was looking forward to it. Should've known it was gentrified to the max. Entered the restaurant, and it was empty. There was alternative rock playing on the speakers....the service was super horrible. The server that tended our table didn't check up on us. The only time she did was when she took our order. Had to call her over myself when i needed something. I also asked if they could switch the game to the tv we were sitting at, i heard the manager say, "i'll do it in a little bit." (He never did, just ignored the request) the brunch menu was so disappointing, i was unimpressed. The french toast was still undercooked in the middle... my egg was supposed to be overhard (fried) it was still runny. As soon as the server came over, she would run off, not even asking if we needed anything else, as if she had to be elsewhere (mind you, it was an empty restaurant). I tried a new restaurant, and I won't come back. No biggie on my end, just not my type of 'Mexican Restaurant'.
Had a company Christmas luncheon on 12/13 of roughly 15 and I am shock to share that the food was bad. I ordered the lunch combo: asada taco, chili relleno with rice and beans. I will let the picture speak for itself but to start the rice was dry and beans was salty. A small bite of my Taco revealed what seems like left over meat from the night before turning beef jerky like texture. The chili relleno was mildly cold and greasy. I wanted to return my plate back but I was stopped since it was a teaming event. Also I did not want to wait since it took us nearly an hour to get our food even though the restaurant was a quarter full. I hope that the owners/managers will take the opportunity to improve the food quality.
