Visiting from So CA. Great vibe, food and service. Nice selection of cocktails and appetizers for Happy Hour. Tried Salmon Ceviche, Steak Skewers, Waygu Sliders, Oysters, Truffle Fries, and Shishito Peppers. Would order any of them again. Server was very attentive and friendly. Will be back!
My family and I have consistently come here for years + bringing friends from all over & significant others, and the food is exceptional every time. They are extremely busy for a reason. The food is fresh every single day (per what the waiter told me), the service is phenomenal, they continuously check on you more than usual, and the drinks are also killer. They are also extremely accommodating if you want to mix and match different things off the menu such as adding salmon in another pasta dish. It is such a special spot to my family, but particularly my Mom and I, and we always look forward to coming here!
Went there for lunch quiet peacefull plenty of seating. Chicken sliders and burgerwere very good . The price is average for these days. Good servicethey cheked in a few imes and made themselfs available.downtow but plenty of parking behind the resraunt. Very clean inside.
Fantastic place with constant high quality of service and outstanding food. We’ve been there dozens of times during last 7 years and they keep delivering. Today we celebrated birthday and had tuna tartare - extra fresh and juicy, tender salmon rare with cuscus, super flavored ribs, and steak frites medium rare.
Very friendly waiter, outdoor seating in the front as well as in the back (does not have not have a view but it’s nice to sit outside). They have several vegetarian options. We had two meals: a vegetarian risotto – can be vegan – Pumpkin risotto with BN squash, spinach, sage, walnuts; and a prawns salad, arugula, gems, roasted baby carrot (one of us wondered where they were), quinoa, pepitas, ricotta – both quite tasty. However, though I don’t like large meals I would define the salad as on the small side, and I counted four shrimp. I like that the menu details ingredients though that does mean some elements are truly a minimal part of the meal or more like a garnish. We had the bread pudding with whipped cream. I would call the dollop of whipped cream a “garnish”. The bread pudding was of the light weight sort but good and enough for two people to share if you don’t need a large portion. Extensive drink - mixed, wines, beers - selection Overall opinion very tasty dishes that are a bit on the small side, especially for the cost. I have to admit I’d rather have tasty than larger.
My daughter who recently graduated from college invited us for a Happy Hour at Revel Kitchen and Bar. It’s her treat and wanted us to celebrate her first job. The restaurant is in Danville, in a very cozy small downtown area. The weather was perfect so the area was pretty crowded, especially since there’s some vintage cars parked by the restaurant. Parking wasn’t bad at all, as we were able to find one behind the resturant lot. Normally, we would sit ouside by the street, but given the huge crowd trying to enjoy the vintage cars, we opted to sit inside the resturant for some quietness. There was a football game going on so there was a lot of people in the bar area. Once in a while, it will get loud , but it was a pleasant kind of loudness from people watching the game. Even with the crowd, we got seated right away. Since it was a happy hour, the food and drinks on the HH menu were priced cheaper than normal. For drinks, we ordered a mojito for me, hazy IPA for hubby, Red wine for the adult daughter and Shirley Temple for the minor one. The mojito was pretty refreshing. The mix of fresh mint, rum and lime were perfect. It has a balanced sweetness and mint flavor and the rum wasn’t overpowering so I really appreciate that. The IPA was from Fieldworks, which I think is a Local Brewery in the North California area. My hubby enjoyed it. The Red wine must be good, too, for my daughter had a second round. We ordered a few small plates. The bread of the Avocado Bruschetta was crunchy and the topping was generous and was salted perfectly. The crispy chips with King Salmon Ceviche was also good and for a small plate, the ceviche was a lot, too. We tried the Steak skewers. It came with two and they were soft and seasoned well. For the Wagyu sliders, my hubby requested for medium rare. It was a bit bigger than a normal slider and the patty was also cooked perfectly. We ate some fried bite sized cod fish and garlic fries. We also got the Artisinal Board and halved mussels. Everything we ordered were all appetizing and flavorful but our top favorites would be these last two. Served with a cocktail sauce and vinegrette, the mussels were soo good, very flavorful, plump and soft. Each one were well cleaned, doesn’t have that fish smell and melts in your mouth, we ended up ordering four dozens. The Artisinal board came with varieties of cheeses, honeyed walnut, strawberry jam and sweet apricot. You got to buy the trio to enjoy all these. The server was very attentive and checked on us just enough without disturbing our family time. She constantly refills the water bottle and clears empty plates and brought us some extra bread since the board still got a lot of cheeses left. Overall, she was amazing. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.
Had an amazing lunch at Revel Kitchen and Bar! The chicken biscuit sandwich was crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor — definitely a must-try. The fries were fresh and well-seasoned, and the chicken club was just as impressive. Also loved the grilled chicken salad — super fresh and topped with sweet corn and feta, perfect for a lighter option.
This is one of my favorite restaurants, and I've enjoyed their delicious lamb sliders, wine, and other dishes on multiple visits. The menu is diverse, but the lamb sliders are a must-try. Their wine selection is also impressive. Other items I've enjoyed include spicy wild prawns, chicken and salmon salad, and their risotto. It's definitely a must-visit for a fun dining experience.
So first off I want to say the management here is fantastic. I dined here previously, and didn’t have the best service. They reached out, heard me out, and truly wanted to make it a better experience. That meant alot to me that they cared enough to follow up, it really says a lot about the way they do business. It would be great if more restaurants were like this! I’ll start by saying, this place doesn’t fall short is of exceptional when it comes to their food. The deviled eggs were a great starter, but the highlight for me was the Fried Chicken Sliders. I was torn on what I was wanted, and my server Kevin suggested the Chicken Sliders. Which weren’t even on my radar. He really sold it, and I’m so glad he did! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had such tender flavorful fried chicken. Then there’s the butterscotch pudding. Which will forever continue to be a standout for me. I can’t rave enough about how great the service was tonight. Kevin was super accommodating, professional, and helpful. I am thankful I had the opportunity to dine here again and had such a great evening!
Came here for the first time , and was seated very quickly. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful when it came to recommending dishes. There appetizers were good but the main courses were spectacular. I got the steak medium rare and oh my goodness… might be the best steak I’ve had to date. The desert was really good as well, especially the apple bread pudding. Would come back here again.
Oh the risotto was so amazing. This place has the best food. The appetizers were good and the drinks were delicious. The only part that is a downside is it is pricey. My husband and I had a $200+ bill between the two of us with 3 drinks 2 appetizers and 2 main courses but definitely a wonderful treat yourself place.
Still my favorite restaurant in Danville. All the food top to finish always amazing. We always seem to end up here for birthdays. Post COVID obviously a lot of things have changed. Dining is outside, they have tables in front of the restaurant still, and also in that side alley. Put our names in, and 15 min later we were seated! They use a texting system so you don't have to wait around. Restrooms are open, just wear your mask! OK now on to the rest: Service: Even though we were sat down immediately, it took some time for our server to come to us, and we had to flag someone down to get water. Not a big, we know things are "different" now and def shared some more patience. Ambiance: being outside is the best!!! There's live music playing across the street, which they do compete with each other some for sound waves haha. Food: Tuna tartare: delish, but more mellow in flavor profile. I could taste the ginger, but it felt like it need something a little more to kick up the flavor, maybe salt? Fried Mary's Chicken Breast & Buttermilk sliders: Holy heck, I needed like 10 of these. perfect marriage of salt, creaminess, sweet, was amaze! Truffle Fries. I stop there. :) Drink: Aperol Spritz: it was like one of those dangerous orange sodas w/alcohol, a few of these and woops! Very refreshing summer drink. Butterscotch pudding: every. single. time. Jan 2022 update: quality of food still good, just some updates on them though Tuna tartare, too much filler w/the cucumber I noticed. Mussels in coconut sauce: get them!
Service was great, 5 stars, the food was good, 4 stars. We ordered off the happy hour menu, the $1 oysters were decent, had a shell chunk in one of mine. The tostada had a good flavor, fried cauliflower was alright, some were soggy and others were better fried. We ordered the wagyu beef sliders which were okay, my fries were soggy but my companion enjoyed theirs. For dessert we ordered the lemon meringue which was good, the meringue was quite well done!
My wife and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our 10th anniversary, as we’ve done occasionally over the many years it’s been open. We’ve also visited their other location, Esin Cafe, and I even remember meeting the owners about 20 years ago when they were just starting out in a small spot in San Ramon. We’ve always had pleasant experiences here. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about the quality of the food or the ambience. Both were excellent, as usual. The reason I’m giving two stars has nothing to do with the meal itself, but with how we were made to feel at the end of the night. When making the reservation, I clearly stated it was our 10-year anniversary. When we arrived, both the hostess and our server asked again if we were celebrating anything, and we told them, again, that it was our 10-year anniversary. After a wonderful meal, what was brought to our table was a small, empty plate with a single candle placed in the middle. That was it. It felt thoughtless, cheap, and honestly a bit belittling. For such a meaningful milestone, the gesture came across as an afterthought rather than a celebration. Instead of making a scene in the restaurant, I decided to write this review to warn anyone planning to celebrate a special occasion here. If you’re hoping to feel acknowledged and celebrated, you may leave disappointed. This review is not about the food or the ambience. Both were great. It’s about how a restaurant makes its guests feel. We can all cook a nice meal at home and open a bottle of wine to celebrate. We choose to dine out for special occasions because we want to feel special, valued, and taken care of. Unfortunately, on a night that meant a lot to us, that feeling was missing.
