Very authentic and I agree with most of comments when they say this is probably the best hunan cuisine around! To those saying that the food is too Spicy, are you ok? Why did you come to a Hunan restaurant in the first place?

Hands down the best Hunan food, or just Chinese food, in the great Sacramento region. If you are not up for the authentic Chinese food or remotely understand what is like being authentic Chinese, don’t bother to come here, Panda Express is next to the freeway. Everything was just authentically Hunan, makes me homesick af

So good!!! My favorite Chinese food so far in Davis. Hunan is a southern province in China which is famous for spicy flavors. You shouldn’t miss it if you love spicy food!

The best Chinese food in Davis. Been here a few times and compared to the many other spots in town, this one is far ahead. Every dish has flavors. Our favorites are the eggplant and string beans, I’m not even an eggplant person but here it’s amazing. We also enjoy the chow mein with beef, it’s not your typical low-flavor chow mein, the noodles are nicely coated and the perfect brown and the little jalapeno pieces give it an extra kick. Last the fried egg with pork ribs, the fried egg sort of an omelet like egg but far more fried and filled with flavor. I’m personally not the type to order egg at any type of restaurant but here it’s a must, the ribs come in a little broth to compliment the ribs. You know it’s authentic when the majority of its client base are international students and you’re not hearing much English being spoken lol. 10/10 would recommend.

Great Sichuan food! I’m pretty picky about Chinese food and I think the food here is great. I brought my cousin here from China, and he said the stir fried cabbage was better than you could find there. The boiled fish was also very tender and tasty. Highly recommend.

Very good Hunan cuisine. I've done dine-in and take-out, and I always order the eggplant, griddle pig intestines, and sour fish soup. Generous portions and probably the best Hunan food I've had.

Great Hunan Style food. I have been 3 times so far and every time the food and service has been excellent.

Excellent Hunan food. Efficient service. Spartan tables and chairs. Quite cold in the winter. Limited selection of teas. Incredible hot and sour soup, some of the best I've had. Excellent lamb dishes. Quick but impersonal service.

Delicious and very authentic food that won't make you thirsty and our clothes and hair never smelled like Chinese kitchen after having dined here several times. We much prefer it over the very popular Yang Kee. Very easy parking.

I recommend getting the eggplant with green beans ($14.95) since it very fresh, cooked nicely, not spicy at all. The spicy flounder fish ($24.95) is indeed SPICY, will numb your mouth but does go away, the sauce does contain a lot of veggie options such as bean sprouts, wood ear mushroom, king oysters which is worth it for portion size and ingredients in the meal. Dan Dan noodles ($12.95) were alright, just mixed in with diced pickled mustard greens. Overall, the food was spicy and fresh.

Family style Chinese restaurant that’s authentic! I enjoyed both dishes we ordered and dishes ordered by other tables looked very appetizing as well.

The food is really good. There are several dishes like the green bean jelly noodles, the tripe appetizer, and both the griddle cauliflower and cabbage that are just done really well (especially for Davis). Blows hunan bar out of the water. Just wish there were more beef dishes.

I dined at this restaurant on December 10, 2025 and left a $10 tip using my credit card. A few days later, I noticed that the final amount charged to my bank was higher than what I had authorized. I called the restaurant to ask for clarification, but the employee who answered was unable to communicate in English, making it impossible to resolve the issue or even confirm the charge. The experience raised serious concerns for me regarding both billing practices and overall management. I would strongly recommend that other customers carefully review their receipts and bank transactions after dining here.
