Absolutely delightful food backed up by excellent service. Special mention should go to the steamed mussel appetizer with garlic herb butter — it was so good that when we got the clam bake (also excellent) we ignored the butter sauce that came with the lobster and just dipped the meat in the leftover mussel butter. Shoutout our server as well, Junior A., for his attentive service!

We went for the Prince Drag Brunch and it was amazing! The Queens were fabulous and the wait staff was amazing too. The food was delicious and we will definitely returning

Great fresh NewEngland seafood with a gourmet flare. Well stocked bar with great beer ,wine and cocktail options. Plenty of large Flat screens for sports.

Have driven by this place multiple times and never stopped. So glad today was the day!!!! The food was phenomenal. Got the hot buttered lobster roll and the hubby got the lobster Mac and cheese! So good! And the cocktails were perfection. Definitely found our new spot for amazing seafood!

This place is a hidden gem. Some people might skip it thinking it looks too ordinary exterior — but that would be a mistake. Food here is really delicious, and staff is kind and welcoming. I ordered warm buttered lobster roll — absolutely amazing! Caesar salad was pretty good too. So if you’re on the fence about this spot — don’t think twice, just go in!

Overall not a bad place, although I only tried apps and drinks I had a good time and the staff was attentive. I like the ambiance of the restaurant and especially loved the decor. Bought myself a Schuck Me shirt in relation to their clams/oysters. I say give it a try enjoy some seafood and look at the lobster tank.

This was much better than I was prepared for. I come from an area with great seafood. But the east coast as a whole...may be better. So what does that mean for SS? Well, it's a huge place and the way it's put together, could be tough to maintain and keep up. But they do it very well, so it's quite inviting. Huge tables, so very open to big groups. And execution...spot on! I love my lobster roll, oysters, and fritters! Our entire group considered going back the next night.

My husband and I have been coming to Summer Shack for many years. The seafood is exceptional and the staff is professional, knowledgeable, warm, and welcoming. Our favorite bartender, Jake, is engaging, personable, and attentive. We always enjoy watching Sunday night football with him!

Had the best time ever! Food, ambiance, and staff are amazing. They go above and beyond. When I was there with my family, my 7yr old nephew was mesmerized by the lobsters. One of the staff got one out of the tank so he could see it up close. They made his day! Can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic atmosphere, and an amazing staff. Have been coming here for years since it was converted from the old chinese restaurant. Literally everything on the menu is delicious, you wont find a bad meal here. The fish and chips can feed a small army, and dont sleep on the fried chicken!

Great lunch yesterday! Our server, Joao Santos, was very attentive without being intrusive. He knew a lot about the menu and gave us good advice when ordering.

Went for the drag brunch...drinks were great, I was honestly not expecting much for tasty food but it was so good!! The entertainment was fabulous!! We had a fantastic time! Cannot wait to go back.

Junior was our waiter and he provided great advice on our choice of oyster - delicious! We also had lobster rolls which were excellent! We are from the west coast and this felt like a true east coast experience.

This is my favorite fish and chips in the Boston area, and I love that I can have a non alcoholic beer with it. I came for a late weekend lunch, and they let me relax forever at the table. Carlos provided great service.

Summer Shack is one of my go-to seafood spots. It’s a relaxed, no-frills place with really fresh ingredients and consistently solid dishes. I love that the menu changes often, but some staples never disappoint—especially the grilled cornbread with molasses butter (so good). The fish tacos and poke bowls are always great, and the raw oysters are a must when they’re available. Portions are generous across the board, which is always appreciated. Thanks to the team for all the hard work—this place never lets me down.

We went on a Monday Not very busy. Sitting looking at the menu, I commented how clean and neat the restaurant was. Cloth napkins,clean silverware . Attentive waitress . Clam chowder was very good . Fried fish sandwich and salmon burger were also very good. Libations were cold and tasty. A most enjoyable lunch! Jasper White lives on🍺👍

Summer Shack absolutely blew me away! I had a live lobster, and it was honestly the best lobster I’ve ever had in my life — perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of incredible flavor. The oysters were just as unforgettable… fresh, delicious, and truly aphrodisiac — they hit the exact right way! The whole experience was fun, vibrant, and unforgettable. If you love seafood, Summer Shack is a must-try!

Summer Shack never disappoints if you know what you’re looking for when you come here. One of the best oysters selections in town, great drinks, and the service is always good. I came for the shrimp and mussels, and they’re wonderful. Our server Carlos was attentive and knowledgeable, went out of his way to explain everything and was mindful of my gluten sensitivity. Phenomenal!

I've lived next to to Summer Shack for 4 years and never went in until tonight because of a blizzard. Not sure what I was expecting, but this exceeded expectations handedly. Great seafood, great value, great service (our waiter was Junior). Will not wait another four years to come back.

We were greeted by our server, Junior, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our drinks were amazing and our food was to die for! The portions were perfect and everything tasted wonderful. We came all the way from Florida to try to this place and it was well worth it. We will definitely be coming back!

My experience at Summer Shack was amazing, all of the menu options were very tedious but I couldn't land on what I wanted, so I doubled down. When Pablo showed me his food recommendations, they were fantastic choices! The oysters tasted amazing, but the other ones he mentioned were fantastic as well. I'm hoping that when I return here, I would want to be served by Pablo again, and I would like to continue his trilogy of recommendations!

Despite living in this area since before, summer shack was opened, I had never eaten here. I was under the impression that it was a loud commercial chain type restaurant. I was very wrong. I ate here with friends who have been coming regularly for years. The food was incredibly fresh, well prepared, and well presented. I found the prices to be reasonable in light of the quality of the food. In addition to some wine and a dessert, I had oysters on the half shell and the day’s special grilled bluefish. Our server, Pablo, was fantastic. I’m sure my experience would not have been as wonderful without him. He was pleasant, appropriately attentive, and knew the menu very well. He was patient in explaining the menu, for example the variations of oysters and the unique flavors. He is an asset to the restaurant. I will definitely return and bring friends when looking for delicious fresh seafood.

We’re from NH and we were down in MA and wanted seafood. I’m not kidding this place nailed it!!! If you’re craving seafood this is the spot to go with so many options! I was starving and I almost ordered the seafood platter for myself and I’m so grateful I didn’t because it was enough food to feed four people!!! My husband, daughter, and I split that but made sure to add the fried clams as well! We had an awesome server named Junior A. So shout out to you! Your knowledge of everything was impeccable, you were extremely helpful, and you were so kind to us! Thanks for all your help that night. Also, their salmon was the best I’ve ever had! We do live pretty far away but we will be back at some point! Thanks Junior for making that a great experience for my family and I!

I had been a while since I last ate here, fond memories brought me back. Much has changed since last time. My favorite app, the ceviche on a shell was removed from the menu, the corn bread went from being free to costing $10. A new item caught my eye on the menu Moqueca or Muquéca as it's actually called in Brazil. The ingredients were similar but the execution was a far cry from the original, light on flavor and very salty. The white rice that accompanied the Moqueca was flavorless and not properly cooked. The Moqueca qas also missing it's most important side whuch is the Pirāo soup made with yuca flour. Other than my disappointing dish the menu was very limited and prices were a bit high.

Was on a trip to the Cambridge area with the wife and girlfriend and we decided that we wanted a nice night out with and a seafood dinner. This place was recommened to us by a co-worker and the food did not disappoint. The service on the other hand left a little to be desired. drinks were slow to be refilled, and beverages from the bar were not consistant, but the food was great. So if you are in the area and are looking for decent seafood dinner, give this place a try, but be ready to spend some money.

I got both cold and warm lobster rolls and clam chowder with a shack attack rum base drink. The drink was good but strong and the clam chowder was refreshingly fresh in taste, texture, and consistency. It wasn't your average gelatinous glob of goo you get at chain restaurants. Fries were average, and chips were meh. The only criticism I have for the lobster rolls is that I would have liked a wedge of lemon to spirits over them because I personally love that citrusy tangy zest! But the portion size exceeded my expectations. I felt I got my money's worth, and I didn't have to go to Boston to get it. So, no expensive parking or long wait to be seated. I've had a lobster roll from James & Hook or Jake & Hook, idk whatever that place is by the harbor, and it was not as good as these.

We were a large group – 12 – for a birthday party. The server was exceptional. She did a great job looking after us - attentive, accurate, and friendly. The food was good, but not great. I am a bit of a connoisseur of fried clams and these were not meaty like a whole belly clams should be. The batter had an overpowering taste, so the subtle taste of the clam was lost. I also had a baked stuffed lobster which was good although a little bit dry. Could’ve used a bit more butter soaking or some extra moisture in the stuffing… Like, maybe some extra crab meat ;-) It’s a favorite spot, and overall a great dining experience! Next time, though I may go for oysters on the half shell as an appetizer instead of clams.

Had been here for dinner. The service was quick and we were seated immediately. We started off with clam chowder and bang bang chicken. The chowder was creamy and delicious, the chicken was slightly on the sweeter side. For main course, we had fisherman's platter and Boston's best lobster roll. The lobster roll was indeed the best, was served hot with buttered bread and seared lobster. Absolutely loved it! The fisherman's platter had scallops, haddock and shrimp battered and fried, it was just okay, nothing great. Our server was attentive and quick.

This place always has solid food. It’s not over the top good but it’s always solid. On Sunday nights they have a guy who makes balloon animals for the kids! So super kid friendly he is only there 5-7 and he comes to every table. Highly recommend if you have kiddos to check it out Sunday night.

Came for Saturday comedy night. Food was good, service was timely considering the crowd. Atmosphere was awkward -- uneven lighting (especially on the stage; some of the comedians noted the harsh light), seating was dense, and the overall crowd seemed cold. I did not factor atmosphere into the overall rating since we sat in the function room and not the restaurant proper, which is much more open and cozy.

The steak and grilled octopus were delicious! The shrimps were good but I didn’t like the dish to be wrapped in plastic mesh bag.. what’s the point of adding unnecessary plastic to food? Service was good, fast serving. Will visit again but will not order the plastic wrapped shrimps again.

Great service, good food. Decent place to go. The atmosphere is a bit off with many empty tables so close together. Could have just been at the time we went. But it has the potential to be very lively during busier times. I will say that it's a bit pricey compared to other popular seafood spots.

If you like oysters, either on the half shell or prepared, this is your place! The oyster selection is impressive. They are super fresh. And they are almost always 2 bucks each. But that is not to say that the other offerings are wanting. The clam chowder is marvelous, and the RI style calamari is tender and nice. From the look of their open kitchen, the lobster appears to be a specialty. But I have not yet partaken to comment. The restaurant has an industrial look, which I like and don't. But who cares. It's the food that counts. I do recommend this restaurant.

The reason why I'm rating this restaurant 3 stars was the service not the food. We sat at the bar- at the end of our meal we overheard the bartenders make comments about how we were only going to leave a $15-$20 tip because of how expensive the food is (I've been here numerous times & know the price of the menu) That was definitely not the case. But instead of leaving a hefty tip we only left 18% because of how uncomfortable they made us feel. On the other hand Great food! The oysters were fresh, delicious and perfectly shucked (not any shells). The grilled clams were amazing! They were juicy and perfectly cooked. The steamers were clean and tasteful. The wood grilled lobster something worth trying-but I still prefer steamed. The 2x different chowders were more of a soup than a traditional thicker chowder. Good flavor but not my favorite. Lastly the lobster &corn fritters were awesome- fluffy and light and the dipping sauce was on point. All in all great seafood restaurant

Relaxed and great place for seafood - plenty of seating and a bit out of the way of traffic, so chances are you won’t have to wait long. Our first dinner plate (2 sushi rolls) showed up way earlier than the next two (crab cakes and lobster roll) so much so that my son had finished his sushi before our two dinners arrived… not cool.

Went to the Greatest Showman Drag brunch (11am)show. So on the advertisement it states they recommend you arrive 30 minutes prior to the show so all parties can sit together. We get there at 10:38am, we were standing outside in line to get in. They opened the door at 10:50 am. It was a small room and a perfect size crowd, every seat was a good seat! Service was okay, they needed direction and to be more organized. The food and drinks were all staggered and our meals came out ice cold. I’m sure the food would have been good if it came out hot.🥵. The drinks were just okay too, nothing great. Now, the Queen’s gave an energetic, interactive performance. The host Pattie was hilarious 😆😂😂. I was a little put off that the Dj was looking for tips as well, by Venmo😳😳😠. I don’t know if that’s a new thing, but come on it’s your job. I was so excited about going to the Summer Shack and it was just a huge disappointment to have a limited menu when the restaurant is known for their fresh seafood. Ohh and it wasn’t cheap!

The fried chicken is not great - had a really bad stomach ache afterwards and felt nauseous for sometime. However, their poke bowls were nice. Wouldn’t rush back having been twice.
