Opinions de Silverlake Ramen Del Mar
I found the spot looking for a Ramen place near the Manhattan Plaza it was kind of tricky to get to. But so worth it when I tried the ramen. Now I will say that it takes about a minute or two for someone to acknowledge you or see you or take your order. But with a little patience the food is so good. I've gone multiple times after my first time. They also have a combo special with the ramen and a side. My son is on the Spectrum and he is very picky with food and he loves the noodles here. So anywhere that can get him to eat I am grateful for.
We are returning Redondo beach expats. We chanced SLR for lunch. We were welcomed, seated and our order taken promptly. Our spicy tuna roll and the The Shoyu on Fire Ramen bowl were both AMAZING! I grow Carolina Reapers back on my farm in NZ (along with 12 hot other pepper varieties). The level of heat, with our dishes, did not disappoint. The pork in our Shoyu ramen bowl was wonderfully tender. I wish I had more than one stomach…would have loved to try their other ramen bowls! Well done SLR🌹
Ive been to Silverlake ramen in Long Beach, and it was okay. I tried this one by El Segundo, and for some reason, the food was so much better. I got the Garlic Truffle ramen and Chicken karaage. The karaage was crispy, seasoned well, and the sriracha mayo it came with was actually pretty damn good. The garlic truffle ramen had kale, shrooms, and the best part, the al dente noodles and pork belly it came with. The broth was full-bodied and garlicky. Id order this again. I already miss it. Also, the restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing compared to the Long Beach branch.
Took the family here on a Friday evening for dinner. Food came fast, was tasty and service was good! We very reasonably priced as well. I was a pleased by our overall experience!
Very good Ramen, so much to my taste. Also karage chicken is excellent! Service is very kind and courteous and its very quick. I also tried some sushi and it was delicious. For desert they have churros, warm and very tasty. Great Ramen place.
We were the first guests on a Sunday and it was a delightful experience. We had our pick of tables and it was a nice day so we decided to sit in the sun. By the time we decided on what we wanted to try, we had to move tables more into the shade as the sun was really beating down on us. Luckily there were still only a few guests so they were able to accommodate. We tried the classic combo with edamame, the cajun ramen and the garlic truffle. The broths were very savory and creamy. Fun vibe. The children's review of this place is: "Very creamy and delicious!" "This pork is bigger than my tongue" "This bowl is bigger than my head, it's the biggest ramen in the world". True to their motto, it was slurp worthy. The servings were generous so we had to bring the leftovers to go. The edamame was also truffle flavoured and fresher than in other places we've had it recently. I do recommend that the restaurant consider having a supply of plastic bibs for kids because the slurping also meant soup dripping down the chin from the ends of the noodles.
It was good, it was cold day and we had this nice hot soup. The wait was not long, the waitress was very nice and the food was served fast as well. The environment was good too, not crowded,
I don’t do reviews often but I had to here. My girl, my brother, and I decided to try this place and let me say, WOW. It’s my first time trying ramen and I’m happy it was at silver lake. The bowls are large, fairly priced, and full of flavor. My girlfriend ordered the vegetarian ramen, however it had something she didn’t like. The manager of the restaurant happily came over to help us resolve the situation. One of the friendliest and most genuine customer services I’ve experienced. Shoutout to Spencer! You’ll do yourself a favor trying this place!
I loved, loved, loved this ramen restaurant. My garlic truffle ramen was awesome! My wife and kids also enjoyed their ramen. The creamed broccolini appetizer was fantastic! The food came REALLY fast and the service was excellent.

The General manager Izumi, is amazing she went above and beyond for our party. She is very attentive and warming. The food was spectacular. By far, our best experience at Silver Lake.

The staff took my order and brought me my drink very quickly. They weren't super charming, but some people like the more low key and chill waiters. The food was also brought out exceptionally quickly. I had a bowl of shoyu ramen and it was pretty good. A solid 7.5. It's not the best ramen I've had, but I think it was pretty good. The bamboo shoots were hard though, as if they hadn't cooked long enough. It wasn't enough to stop me from enjoying the ramen though. The price was pretty average for a ramen place, about $18 before tip. Granted I didn't buy any drinks, just water. On the topic of water they were prompt with refilling my cup which gives them bonus points. A nice place, a bit above average.
The Baseline: For a ramen restaurant the noodles must be fresh, cooked with consistency in firmness, broth must be tasty with good body, accompaniment additions must match with the style, and the plating must work for the ramen presentation/function. September 18, 2025: Food: The ramen here is really the thing to come for. Tonight I opted on the Chicken Karaage Curry Rice Bowl which was good with a spice level that was enjoyable, but there was no pickled ginger condiment to be added. I had to order a side of pickled onion ($1.75) so I had something to cut the fat of the curry base. All curry dishes need a pickled condiment option. The Classic Tonkotsu Ramen was great as always with good noodle pull and tasty broth and ordered as a combo with a Chicken Karaage appetizer that has a nice mayo based dipping sauce. Very enjoyable. The Rice Pork Bowl was also very good and was a good option for a smaller appetite with a great price ($8.75 for a small). I also had the Spicy Garlic Edamame which was addictive. Love the Edamame! Service: Efficient service in taking my order and serving the food. Everything was accurate. Didn’t need to ask for water but there was no refill of water without asking which should be a must in a place that has spicy items on the menu. It felt short staffed on the night I went so there is a level of patron understanding given here. Ambiance: Very hip, modern design for a ramen joint. The tables and seating area was clean. The bathroom was clean for the level of traffic ration this location produces. Previous Review (February 2025): Part of a chain, the Manhattan Beach Silverlake Ramen serves up a solid meal of Ramen (also saves me from driving to Sawtelle Blvd to eat). The Ramen is well prepared, properly spiced/flavored, and served at a proper temperature. This is the go to dish when you come here. I get the Blaze with pork because I want the extra spice level and it warms me up in the winter. The rice bowl and the appetizers are all tasty and well prepared with good sized portions. Service is good and they will attend to your needs but the wait staff is in between a lot of tables so it can get slightly spotty during service rushes. They will drop water carafes on the table so you do not need to ask for refills. There is a Silverlake Rewards app that is great to use to get free items if you consistently dine here, so I suggest downloading it. The points update quickly after you pay for a meal. The environment is inside but the end of the restaurant is open to the outside of the Manhattan Village outside mall area. There are plenty of heat lamps if you are near the outside so you will stay warm. The bathrooms are clean and well serviced. Definitely will return to dine here.
Ambiance: I liked this place, very cool decor, open concept. Felt both enclosed and airy. Wasn't super busy when we arrived, a decent amount of seating as well. Service: We were seated right away. Staff was kind and patient, did not have to wait long to order or receive our meals. We didn't realize they were closing toward the end of our meals, but they never forced us to leave. It was us and 2 other tables still lingering. (We left as soon as we realized the time) Food: I could've used some more spice in the spicy ramen, but overall, the meal was pretty good. Nice and hot, tasted freshly made, and the appetizers were really good. Portions were spot on, and the sauces were complimentary to the overall flavor. Loved the sake and enjoyed the churro dessert. It's great for sharing.
Ramen was very tasty with lots of flavor. Noodles were perfectly cooked. Grilled broccoli was amazing but I would pass on the dumplings. Nothing special there. Would go back for more soup 🙂
Good ramen! The Shoyu on Fire was really good. I got it "mild" which includes half a jalapeno, so still pretty spicy. The service was fine - had to ask for water refill and for the check. Great location.
Located in the Manhattan Village mall area. Ramen is okay, gyoza were awesome and edamame decent. Open air restaurant so gets very cold inside is the big bummer.
Temperature wise, it is served hot so make sure to give it a second to let it cool so it doesn’t burn your tongue like it did mine. Lesson learned! I really enjoyed the savory Garlic Truffle Ramen, although it had more of an umami mushroom flavor and not much of a truffle flavor. It almost felt like maybe they forgot to add the Truff truffle oil? It comes with your choice of protein, pork/chicken/tofu, and I went with the chicken which was very tender and well cooked. The broth is a blend of creamy pork and vegetable stock, and garlic. The topics include kale, mushrooms, black pepper, seaweed, & seasoned egg, and it’s served with thick noodles. They have an open setting with indoor/outdoor options, and it’s within the courtyard of the remodeled Manhattan Village Mall, right next to an ice cream shop!

Disappointing experience compared to other locations. I took the tsukemen ramen, the broth was way too salty, the ratio noodles/soy was really off. The green tea wasn't really good either
We came on 7/22 around 7pm. The food was good. We usually go to the Cerritos location but realized this one is closer . Food was good but our waiter with the blonde hair and neck tattoo was super rude just because i asked her was it okay to sit on the patio. I was trying to confirm it was okay and she waved her hand rudely and nodded without making any eye contact . It was very rude and she did it while taking the people next to us order. It was very awkward . She then took a while to come to our table and take our order . Her whole demeanor was rude after . I was with my 10 yr old son who had been wanting to come and he picked it up. It also makes it hard to want to stay and trust your food will be okay . Something like that should not have easily caused her to treat us like that .
Food quality is not as good as other outlets. The pork bun was lukewarm and tough. Used to be more tender. The Shoyu ramen was only okay. The service was less than ideal. Did not even look over to see that I needed a refill of my drink; despite me waving an empty cup. Perhaps more wait staff is required.
First off, I’ll start by saying that this is one of my favorite places. The food has always been consistent. No complaints there. This review is regarding the service. I have seen so much employee turnover. It’s a bummer. Makes me wonder about their management. The staff always seems over worked and under staffed. Weekends it’s almost impossible to order take out. The wait time is always terrible. I’ve tried to do phone orders but they will suggest to use their app yet the app doesn’t submit my orders. I still eat here because all in all I love the food. The service could be better if they had more staff. This comment is for management, take care of your employee and train them.
This is usually a good place. This location just opened & it’s obviously unorganized. Restrooms are dirty & not stocked and dining floor is also dirty, back packs, aprons & laptops out in the already small dining area. There is no chicken topping available for any ramen, food order took long & they didn’t realize only 1 of 2 ramens were made. My ramen was cold & pork looked was dry. They ended up not letting us pay for our sodas & our incomplete order. I’ve been looking forward to this place opening. I hope it gets better soon!

The food was okay, but the broccolini had too much oil. Also, the dressing for the creamy broccolini is from Costco and is literally just sesame kewpie dressing. The service took forever and I ended up waiting 40 minutes for my food. I also ordered to-go and all the other customers, even if they came after me were served first as long as they were eating there. The restaurant did have a nice atmosphere and was very relaxed. The location is in a tucked away spot with not too much traffic, making it a peaceful place to be.
I’ve been a loyal customer of Silver Lake Ramen for years because my family and I love the food and service. Unfortunately, this last visit was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had here. The server (I believe his name was Tua) completely ignored us when we arrived, even though he had only two tables. We had to ask the host at the register to seat us. When he finally came over, he dropped three glasses of water and threw the menus on the table without even a greeting. Throughout the service, he never once asked if we wanted drinks or checked on us. We had to insist to place our order, and instead of responding, he simply walked away. His behavior toward us was rude, dismissive, and felt discriminatory. What confirmed it for me was seeing how quickly and warmly he greeted and served a white family right after treating us so poorly. This kind of service is unacceptable. Silver Lake Ramen is better than this, and customers deserve respect regardless of their background. The rest of the staff, as always, were professional and kind—but this waiter’s attitude ruined the experience.

Could be good but after waiting 6 min outside to be seated I gave up and left, tables were empty and the place was well staffed
I don't like giving bad reviews but the ramen was just not good. The gyozo was even worse. There are much much better places around.
Food was amazing until the waiter was incredibly rude to me I don’t know what we did to him, we usually never end up with this experience and when I asked for his name he was rude and he said he’s not going to give it to me. I asked him how much do we owe and he screamed at me. He has blonde hair. Very rude, food was good.
Service was good. Nice setting. Food? Yucky. Our ramen with pork smelled and tasted like a bad pig farm and we really couldn't each much. Waste of $20...wish I liked it.
Decent Ramen but just cannot seem to figure out how to manage the seating. No Yelp Waitlist, no reservations, you get in-line and you wait! Sometimes they take names on the clip boards but sometimes they don't, just depends if it is a full moon or not. There will be 4-5 tables open, but the servers will not bother to sit anyone.. so take your chances... you could be seated in 5 mins or you could be standing there for 30+ mins looking like an idiot . Not sure why they cannot figure out how to work the line. The servers are rude if I asked to be seated, the only saving grace is the food, no complain about the Ramen, they are pretty decent.
The ramen is mid at best. You can’t pick your toppings. There are better ramen out there. I’d recommend Shin Sen Gumi Hataka Ramen in Gardena
I’ve been to the SaMo location and never had a problem. I ordered to go in Manhattan Beach and I only had a slice or pork for a $20 bowl of ramen. I understand that inflation is rising but one slice of pork with noodles . That’s absurd.
Food is always good here. Service isn’t great, especially if you ordered for pick up! No one seems to want to seat anyone or give pick up orders. Beware of timing when you order pick as it’s grossly off. When we ordered it said 18 mins and our order took an hour. Crazy!
Working within the Mall and limited options for food.. it’s sad to think this place overall gives bad service on both Dine In and Take Out. You wait practically 10+ Mins at the Front to be noticed. Whether they have a crowd or not, the same excuse of ‘Being Short Staffed’ is always used for their lack of attentiveness. Typically when a Pick Up Time is given and you arrive at said time, you get your Order. Not here, you get it when they’re ready to acknowledge you at the Front. When their Waiting Line is finally at 8+ People, then they’ll greet you. Anything less than that, to them it’s not a priority.
This evening, as my family and I were at SilverLake Ramen, I witnessed a female Hispanic employee cruelly mistreat a young Black man in front of the patrons. He was an employee. It was unprofessional, rude, and really alarming. Me and my family departed and went somewhere else, and I didn't place my order because of her unsettling conduct.
I got a shoyu on fire and it was okay, but the tsukeman (my favorite) was waaaaay to salty. I never tasted any salt when I order it besides today and at this location. I going to keep going to the one on Cerritos or the one on sunset.
Horrible experience. The manager was extremely unprofessional. Waited almost 1 hour for my food.
The food was decent, but one of the worst service experiences that I’ve had in a sit down restaurant. I tried it again assuming it was an off day, but the place was nearly empty and we waited over 30 minutes for our waiter to return after being seated.
Extremely unprofessional staff. The manager is extremely rude. Over 40 minutes waiting for an order.
Updated - tried this place again, and the service was the worse. Can't recommend this place until they figure out how to change their service to get people seated and receive their checks/service in a timely manner. This time yet again we (a line formed) had to wait to be seated, even though two staff members were clearly sitting at one of the tables, maybe on break? Our server was annoyed, guests were having to get their own napkins/etc. This place needs a serious management update. Previous review below. Unfortunately the troubles started when I arrived to pick up my online order. Although the restaurant was quiet (only a handful of tables had patrons), the staff seemed unconcerned about the patrons and those waiting. When you arrive, there is currently a sign stating you need to wait to be seated. Although the staff seemed to be milling around, the person in front of me waiting to be seated had been there for quite some time. When she was finally seated, she was upset and attempted to voice her concerns to the staff who was seating her. Instead of the staff listening and helping, they ignored her, seated the woman, and just walked away. I still had to wait even longer to get my food, again, I would see and make eye contact with staff, but the staff would just look away. I finally got my food, and when I got home was again disappointed, this time at the food quality. The karaage was cool with a very heavy breading, the ramen also cool and low in flavor. I know this is a fairly new location, hopefully this is simply growing pains, and the staff and kitchen are getting their feet under them. The location itself is nice, well situated, clean, and part open air. There is parking very close by, and ample places to relax and shop.
The food is delicious, and I’ve always had a great experience overall. I went three times within one week and unfortunately had the same server each time, and her behavior was consistently rude. She threw the menus down, almost spilled my ramen by setting it on the table aggressively, and her attitude made me uncomfortable to the point where I was hesitant to even ask for a Sprite. On my second visit, her family came in and she was suddenly very friendly, chatty, and welcoming toward them. Once they were settled, her attitude immediately changed again when serving other customers. I wasn’t the only one who noticed this behavior. By my third visit, the situation was so uncomfortable that when she was about to seat us, I asked for another server. No one should feel uneasy dining out. Everyone has bad days, but taking it out on customers is unacceptable. If someone dislikes customer service, this may not be the right industry for them. If she worked for me I would FIRE her immediately!!!
I Thought ordering food to go would have been a quick in out but boy was I wrong my son had ordered only 2 items chicken and 1 pork bun and almost 35 minutes! It took so long My ice cream melted that I bought from handles next door... We will never go back after this experience .

Silverlake Ramen might be famous, but the bowl I got was anything but special. The broth was overly salty and the pork didn’t taste fresh. For a place with this much hype, you’d expect flavor, care, and quality, but it delivered none. It’s just another overhyped spot riding on its name.
