My new favorite local sushi place!! Came here for dinner with my boyfriend and we had a wonderful time :) The dinner combo was very big and satisfying, and we also enjoyed the calamari roll and eel hand roll. Very quaint atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and sweet. We will be back soon!!

My granddaughter and I tried the fried dumplings. They were so amazing and delicious 😋. My granddaughter ( 7 years old) loved the dumplings so much, we had to return less than 2 hours later for more. The staff and owners are so friendly and you're greeted when you walk through the door. I will Definitely be returning back to this restaurant.

We love going here for dinner! The food is great, but the staff really make it a wonderful dining experience. They are always so warm and welcoming and my 5 year old daughter loves them so much! Thank you for another great dinner!

This is our favorite sushi restaurant. One of the reasons we I love this restaurant is because they make you feel like your family, the service is great and the food is excellent. We hadn't been there for a couple of months. As soon as we walked in, Mamasan came over and asked us if we were all right. That she hadn't seen us for a while. There are not many restaurants that you enter that the owner or the manager acknowledges you and make sure you're in good health.

First time dining here. Ordered the Monkey Brain appetizer (do not let the appetizer name fool you), which is mushroom caps and crab fried in tempura batter, with two delicious sauces drizzled over it. Please see my photo. I loved this so much, I got a second order. My entree was comprised of California rolls and avocado rolls. Charming little restaurant with delicious food that always looks like a work of art on a plate!

Came here with girlfriend unplanned because it was close to my father's hospital. Ordered the Philadelphia roll and another roll that had tuna, salmon, crab, roe, and mango with rice paper. Both rolls were good but the Philadelphia was better. The other one good, just not my style, but that's my decision to order. Service was great and everyone was so nice. I definitely would go back and try some other dishes. I highly recommend this cozy little sushi place!

Best sushi place in town. If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. The staff are super friendly, attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is amazing, it’s comfy and a super fun date spot. I come here with my husband almost every week because we love it so much. The owners are always there, they’re super nice and they’re half the reason I come back here. The food is DELICIOUS, I love the baked Louisiana roll, and the monkey brain is amazing! If you’re looking for a regular date spot, look no further!!

This is an authentic Japanese restaurant run by Japanese. They are so polite and they pay individual attention to each table, each customer. The food tasted so good! This is our 2nd time visiting this restaurant. (needless to say that our 1st experience was also great!) We will come again!

I wasn't a big fan of the food, however the hospitality made up for every bit. Almost all staff greeting and checking up on the table i was at, even holding the door for me on the way out. I would definitely come again.

A great little Sushi place in the heart of North Denton, just a short drive from either TWU or UNT. Their Miso Soup is perfection! Each sushi roll is hand-crafted fresh, after you order. Come hungry and order a few types of rolls to sample with friends. I really enjoy their Spicy Salmon Roll, and their Spicy Tuna Roll.

Soooooo much to say! Service was outstanding!!! Food was FRESH & delicious! California rolls were perfect! Miso soup to start (free btw) was perfect. Veggie tempura was awesome. Chicken teriyaki was yum! Even the salad was awesome! The ONLY downfall is that it is a small place. Glad we went when it was not crowded. As we left it started getting slammed.

I eat sushi in almost every town I travel to and this place surprised me. Their portions were very large and the flavors were amazing. You can tell they take pride in their food. The sushi was very fresh and, again, huge in the portions which I really liked. If you are not a fan of sushi, they have a few dishes that are really good like the Chicken Teryaki. Great service by the staff, owners were very welcoming. Felt like I was having dinner in their living room. Thanks for a great experience and wonderful food!!!

We had a LOVELY time this Saturday afternoon with our server, I unfortunately forget her name and forgot to ask again, but she was so pleasant. Very helpful, attentive, bubbly and had no issue explaining their vast menu items to us! Geisha roll special was phenomenal as well as the sexy roll was very light and refreshing. 3 appetizers, 3 rolls and 2 drinks for $60 for a very hungry couple I consider a phenomenal deal! Even better deals for lunch M-F before 3pm. Go check them out!

One of the best spots in Denton for sushi, definitely my go to. Never disappointed with anything we order. We always have to get some shrimp & veggie tempura with any rolls we have (miso soup too). Dine in is available, but we took it togo last time since they were closing soon.

This is my FAVORITE sushi place in Denton by far! They are so generous on the sushi rolls!! I got 10 pieces of the James Bond roll, and the Shrimp Tempura roll is BIG 😁 (roll circumference shown). The owners and staff are very kind people, and the peaceful vibe with light music is the best environment for such good cuisine. Decor is very pretty as well! I ordered delivery this time, but when inside the restaurant, they take care of you! ❤️🍣🍱🥟🍤🍲

RECCOMEND!!! GO HERE! I'm from out of state and had to poke around to pick a sushi place. By far this was the best option! I got the sushi bento box for lunch and the fish was so fresh I was blown away! I think this was the best salmon nigiri I've ever had! The waitress was polite and attentive as well. Update: I had to go back a second time before leaving town! My party ordered the Gyoza, eel roll, salmon nigiri, and spider roll. All of it was delicious! I didnt even take a photo of my rolls because we ate them so fast haha.

I first started haunting I ❤️ Sushi when they were one of two sushi games in town, nearly ten years ago. I am visiting Denton after a long time and somehow they are even better than they were back then. One of the owners gave me a hug when I came in like she remembered me and/or was very grateful for the customer loyalty. Either way, her warmth was delightful and contagious. Don't bother with any of the newer places in town. They can't possibly compare!

I had a real nice time here! I will definitely come back! I got the I love crav roll and the Zigzag roll. The Zigzag roll was the winner of my meal. Fish was nice and fatty, Gyoza seems handmade. Fried rice was fragrant. Staff was kind and attentive. Can't wait to come back!

The best hole in the wall you can crawl into. The decor is adorable with dark wood, sakura paper lanterns, colorful curtains and old school wall art. The food is authentic and delicious. We got the ninja platter, the Gyoza (which is BEEF and chefs kiss yummy 😋) the teriyaki salmon dinner plate and the kalamari roll... bring your appetite. The portions are a good size, the sauces are fantastic and the staff are friendly and genuine. If you speak any Korean please say something nice to the hostess. She was a sweet little old lady with a lot of personality and definitely was the highlight of our night! The chefs speak Japanese so we were able to tell them how great the food was. Oishi and SUgoi! 10/10 I Loved their Sushi!

The prices are good even though they have had to raise them over the years but the service is amazing I would definitely recommend eating in here if you like sushi and an authentic Japanese atmosphere. I prefer it over a lot of the flasher sushi places in town

Food was good and very fresh! They gave us complimentary miso soup, we ordered gyozas and no more than 5 minutes passed and they were on our table and steaming hot. The sushi was delicious, they have a lot of options available! The only dessert is ice cream, keep that in mind if you’re a dessert person. Our server was very attentive and very nice, honestly everyone in there was. Kitchen is very speedy. You see the sushi chefs making your food, any restaurant that confident in showing their kitchen must really put the time to keep it clean! We will definitely be going back to try some more of their sushi.

I lived in Denton about ten years ago and am so disappointed I didn't hear of this place before! We were visiting the square and decided to drive down University for some food ideas. We saw "I ❤️ Sushi" and me and my husband both knew immediately that Sushi was the move! First off, this place is charming and well kept. The tables and floors are very clean, which I always appreciate in a restaurant. There are adorable little round lanterns above every table, and cute little Japanese cat tapestries on the walls. We were greeted immediately by our server, who I regret not getting the name of, but she was very sweet and very attentive. My husband ordered the dragon roll and I ordered the louisiana roll. We ordered a bulgogi dinner combination to split (expecting the Sushi to not fill us, boy we were wrong!) and gyoza for the appetizer. The gyoza and sauce was amazing. Very crispy and flavorful. The sauce was perfectly tangy. Then they brought our sushi. We were amazed! So many times I've gone to restaurants and the portion sizes for sushi are so small. This place gives you a ton! And they were delicious. Some of, if not the best, sushi we have ever had. We were not able to finish the bulgogi plate, but the vegetable tempura stood out to me, and the flavor of the bulgogi was authentic and delicious as well. This place was fantastic and will be on our regular rotation when we visit Denton from now on. Five stars all around!

My husband and I love coming here! The staff is super friendly and we love the ambiance of the restaurant. The menu has lots of options from sushi to udon to rice platters. This time we ordered the vegetable tempura dinner, beef yaki udon, and spicy tuna roll. All of it was delicious and flavored well. The portions are adequate and we both had some leftovers to take home. My husband also ordered a Sapporo that was light and refreshing. We were given miso soup at the beginning of our meal as well. Other days we would order hot green tea that is served in a teapot. Overall, we always have a great experience here and it’s a must-try. I don’t think you’ll find a better sushi restaurant in Denton!

I have been to this sushi place for many years. I always love coming here! The staff is so friendly and come to your table often to answer questions and refill your drinks. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming with wonderful decorations! Our food comes without a long wait time and it’s always been flavorful and fresh. Sometimes the shrimp tempura is not consistent but nothing too serious. As far as Texas sushi places go, this one is top notch.

I loved the look and feel of the restaurant. The service was friendly and I got my to-go order quickly. The tempura items were great. The California roll was good too. The Teriyaki chicken seemed salty to me. I got there late and since this is a Sushi restaurant, it may not have been freshly prepared. I will have to go back for just the Sushi and see how they rock their specialty.

Me and my wife ate much here couple of days ago. We ordered the monkey brain appetizer as well as chicken fried rice to share and I ordered the volcano roll. She really loved what she ordered and said it might have been the best sushi she had ever had it was a sushi roll that had cucumber around it instead of rice. I was pretty disappointed by my actual sushi roll but the monkey brain appetizer was one of the most unique delicious appetizers I've ever had. I would definitely recommend this place but if I go back I'm going to get some different sushi that's the main dish

My husband and I spent $80. All the sushi and tempura was GREAT and the customer service was polite. Unfortunately, the other items we ordered did not taste good at all. The miso soup was lukewarm and a bit bland, the seaweed salad was waaaay too sweet, the salad tasted gross and the bugolgi was just texturally weird (not cooked long enough to caramelize the meat). If you come here, only get the sushi and tempura. Skip everything else. It’s pricey for the food quality. You can get better food across the street at the Asian buffet (my family goes twice a month) and it’s half the price. I really wanted to find a gem in Denton but this is not it. It’s not the worst but definitely below average. Will not be coming back.

This is a great little restaurant in a nice setting with excellent service. The sushi was not even close to top quality but was still 'OK'. The prices certainly call for better quality sashimi/sushi.

The Korean owners are really sweet people. However, the sushi was questionable. The rolls fell apart and the people in our party that tried one particular roll got upset stomachs. We didn't finish that roll due to the spoiled flavor. Again, such sweet owners but I can't lie about food quality to save feelings. For the prices of the roll it can afford to be fixed. Traditionally in Japan one had to apprentice 7 years before they could serve sushi. America is cavalier in this respect.

We are traveling 5 hours. We always look at reviews. It was done in no time. We paid 67$. The fried crab appetizer was good. The sushi we got was cooked? The tuna and salmon. The picture placed with sushi shows raw sushi.. I also ordered the Philadelphia roll and got shrimp tempura? We ordered two plates of chicken fried rice. Chicken seemed like it was frozen and not thawed before cooking. That chewy texture. The rice portion was over steamed very mushy supposed to be fried rice. Very disappointed, as the reviews looked promising. Won’t return when in town again.

I am extremely confused about the reviews on this place. I don’t feel like I’m super bougie about food, but this sushi was just not good. We were in Denton for the day and decided to try it out based on reviews. First glance isn’t super reassuring the restaurant itself is really old and gives a fast food vibe. Either way we decided to give it a chance anyway. The service was amazing, we were given a free miso soup. It was ok. Then we ordered the gyoza. Normally gyoza is pan fried and there was no description to state otherwise, yet when we got it , it was deep fried. Not a huge deal, it didn’t taste awful but it was very greasy and I probably wouldn’t have ordered it if I had known. It almost had a panko batter around it. Secondly most of the rolls are fried, and I ordered the sunrise roll and it literally had nothing in the inside except a small piece of tempura shrimp and crab meat on top. The sauce they put on top was almost like a sweet and sour? Nothing like the picture- and the roll itself was tasteless and underwhelming. My husband ordered the Hiroshima roll based on reviews and it was deep fried, but it was so large and bulky it was hard to eat and the flavors just weren’t there. Neither of us ate more than a couple pieces of our roll. I hate writing bad reviews but the excitement we had for this place based on the reviews vs the experience we actually had just really bummed us out. Sushi was a treat for us and maybe I can spare someone else the same experience by being honest. The staff was very nice and welcoming but the sushi just wasn’t it.

The atmosphere and service are fine but the food is disgusting. Found out the rice is served with cornstarch. What self-respecting japanese has sushi with cornstarch. Fish was rubbery and poor cuts. Unfortunately the ingredients are cheap making this a poor experience

Customer service is very good, the restaurant is small but feels homey. The food quality is lacking though. For the price of the rolls it is unreasonable. I’ve tried better sushi from a grocery store for half the price. Avocado was browning and fish didn’t taste very fresh. Chicken on the fried rice tasted gummy. It was very off putting. I left with a stomachache. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend or return here.

Horrible food and manager lies. I tried to get a refund for my undercooked soggy rolls and they would not give me one. I called twice and they hung up in my face. The price is ridiculous and rolls are nasty. DO NOT GO HERE. Run !

The food quality dropped so much since I was here 2 years ago. They overly meat and under cooked my vegetables. They don’t season the meat anymore it was so bland too. The server was so sweet and attentive. The place was clean. But the kitchen had collapsed in quality of ingredients and skill of cooking the ingredients. I will never return. I have bee. Here like 13 times in the past. But drop the food quality and hike the prices. The other places in town have better quality and better prices.

this restaurant use to be high quality and its gone down terribly in the years. Sent back our drinks 5 times for black particles being in the ice and drinks. Worms in the food from it being SO UNFRESH!!! Its time OSHA steps in!! Love mom and pop shops but they need a quality check IMMEDIATELY! We dont want them to shut down .. ❤️ we just want them to actually work on these complaints they’re constantly recieving from customers

I don’t know what others experience but this was by far the worse sushi I have eaten in years. The fish was old and crumbly it look like a wet rag that was flash frozen and tasted even worse we order 3 rolls which basically all the same with a different topping. Disappointing they need to do better
