The food was delicious. One of the best pizza shops I've been to in a while. Service was a bit off, but not horrible. It seems that they're tasked to cover all parts of the restaurant so they didn't check up on their tables for refills and other needs as often as they should. The pizza was great. The pastrami wedges are awesome! A definite keeper.

Was working nearby and one of my colleagues recommended I try the best pizza place in Downey. It definitely lived up to its reputation as this was my first time try the famous pastrami pizza. We ordered a medium sized but looking back we should have ordered a larger to have more to enjoy. Will make it a definite destination when in the area.

Can't beat the lunch special! Large pizza with 3 toppings (you choose toppings) and 4 side salads (garden salad). We always call in the order and it's ready for pick-up about 30-35 minutes later. Pizza taste great and quick service!

We picked up the house specialty, the pastrami pizza. We live 20 minutes away so the drive home was torture with the smell of this. So we had a slice while on the 605. The pizza was awesome If you like a pastrami I highly recommend it. Definitely doing the drive again.

Came in just before the end of happy hour, we got order from the happy hour menu. Person pizza and wings were half off, several drink specials were available. The pizza and wings were outstanding, ingredients were fresh . Service was good atmosphere was quiet (perfect for a Thursday). The margaritas were STRONG witch surprised me because most places cheap-out on the alcohol during happy hour.

Just wow! Look, when you see a Pastrami pizza next to the works, you probably question it…naturally. The Pastrami Pizza is one of the best pizzas you will EVER have. You still get the pizza dough taste, but the flavors hit you like a good Pastrami sandwich. The dough itself is soft and fluffy, so you are getting a quality pizza product. Highly recommend DPC whenever you are in the area.

They serve one of the best deep-dish pizzas I’ve had in LA County. The crust is buttery and flaky, and they load on the cheese and toppings. The SO and I were so excited to try this spot out. We had seen some posts about the pastrami pizza and absolutely had to try that. Parking was a little hard to find but follow the Google Maps instructions... once inside, the service was quick and incredibly friendly! We had such a good time with our waitress. We got some tap beer, an order of wings and a large pizza, half pastrami, half carnitas. The beer was cold, the wings were well sauced and meaty. Let me tell you though, that pizza! The crust was perfection, and each flavor profile was perfectly balanced. Pastrami, pickles, mustard and cheese and then carnitas, onions, cilantro and avocado slices with cheese. Seriously, you gotta experience this pizza, I'm enamored. Plus, it's across the way from the original McD's where they serve the deep fried apple pie... perfect for dessert!

My coworkers convinced me to try this place. They said they were all blown away by just how surprisingly good that pastrami pizza really is. It sounds like a date when you read what is on it. Then you taste it like, oh wow, they are onto something. It’s good for real! The other menu items are also good as expected but you should really just grab a small one to split if you just want to try the pastrami. I wish I could find it where I’m from. The flavors really work.

Hello I'm Joey D I drove from Fresno California to Long Beach, then to Downey, California to go and try their pastrami pizza that my friend has been bragging about and let me tell you I never had anything like that they were super packed, but I managed to slide in and sit at the bar and the staff was super super nice. They were all busy but they managed to help me out at the same time you just have to have some patience people. They are not robots they're human being. And oh yeah, the atmosphere is really nice. I highly recommend everyone to go and try their pizza especially their pastrami pizza and their wings were delicious as well.

Finally, I got to try the pastrami pizza. It was what I expected. It was delicious! Most of all, my family and I had the best customer service from Nelson. Best experience ever.

Good pizza! We got a medium with half Original Pastrami and half The Alfredo. Both were delicious. The crust had a nice snappy crunch to it. Medium is a good size for 2 hungry people i’d say. Not the best pizza in the world but one of the best in Downey for sure. We went a Monday evening (right before closing) and there wasn’t many people, food was quick, and despite it being late in their shifts the staff was still very friendly. Lastly, we got Tiramisu and it wasn’t the best but not terrible, came in a little plastic cup that made it feel store bought (it might not be i’m not sure).

I've lived nearby for years and it was our first visit. Even though it was pouring rain outside, the restaurant was full. We could see why. Their food is beyond delicious. We started out with seasoned potato wedges, they were nice and hot right out of the oven. The seasoning was flavorful and there was a small crisp with each bite. We ordered a medium pizza. Half Italian sausage, half mushroom and green peppers! When we lifted the first slice, the cheese was slowly stretching to gooey goodness! The crust had a great crunch and softness to it. For dessert we had to try their home made tiramisu. Totally worth it.

Downy Pizza Co absolutely nailed it. We ordered the heart-shaped pepperoni pizza with jalapeños and it was 🔥. The crust was perfectly baked — crispy on the outside, soft on the inside — and the pepperoni had that perfect crisp. The jalapeños added just the right kick without overpowering the flavor. Downey Pizza Company is honestly heaven if you're a meat lover. You gotta order the All Meat Pizza. They seriously don’t skimp on the toppings—it’s literally buried under layers of pepperoni, ham, bacon, sausage, and beef. You can barely see the crust! Every bite is super savory, cheesy, and just hits the spot. It’s as American as it gets. To balance it out, the Buffalo Wings are a must. The blend of mustard, pickles, and pastrami shouldn’t work, but does it ever! The unique pie with perfectly baked crust is unexpectedly delicious and downright addictive. Definitely recommend.

Came here because I was recommended this place for their pizza and calzones by Costco staff when they overheard me talking about whether to get the calzones or not at Costco. And I want to say that they have solid happy hours, but the bars get packed since there isn't any seats so its first come first served. We came for happy hour but ended up dining in regular section, their pizza is delicious and crust is really good. However the size amount to the price isn't quite a good ratio, but I guess if that is what it takes to get a good pizza, once in a while isn't too bad. Ironically did not try the calzone, so it will have to be a next time try. Speaking of which - we did get their draft beer and blended drinks, they were big and delicious! Would def come back again! And they play sports on the TV screen like a sports bar! They have limited parking space but private lot!

Everything is made fresh when you order, and it's still fresh when it gets to your table. They have plenty of seats inside and a small sitting area outside. This is a cool pizza spot. The parking lot is small but the restaurant itself is decent sized. Service was good for a Sunday afternoon. The mozzarella sticks and the potato wedges are delicious. They came out hot and stayed hot. We tried the works pizza and although good, I've had better. The works has a lot of topping on it, and they do not skimp on the topping at all. I just felt like the pizza was still a little bland in a way. The crust had a nice bite to it, to me it tasted like a saltine cracker lol I didnt hate the pizza but I was a little underwhelmed with it. If I do go back I'll definitely try the pastrami pizza since that is what theyre known for and see if its better than the works. - one critique i believe either the soda machine, or ice machine needs to be cleaned. Cashier didn't seem to hear what I had ordered and never brought me my drink. I had to ask another staff member to help me. Other than that there is plenty of seating and minimal wait. The parking lot fills up fast, but the food is definitely worth it. If you want a quick bite this place is a good option, but they can also accommodate large groups. Well the best thing we ate was the battered green beans. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items? We ordered their "famous" pastrami pizza and the new carnitas pizza as well as the onion battered green beans. Our expectations were pretty high after following their Instagram. Neither of our pizzas specified that they had a regular pizza sauce on them, and I feel that was the biggest factor in our disappointment. The pizza sauce overpowered both pizzas. Carnitas and pizza sauce....not a combo I want to try ever again. Every other pastrami pizza I have tried always used mustard in place of pizza sauce. Mustard and pizza sauce definitely didn't work for us. I'm pretty confident that if we had ordered their more traditional pizzas that our experience would have been completely different, but I don't know that we'll ever make the trip back to find out.

I am a vegetarian, so I ordered a veggie pizza plus salad and appetizers. I became very disappointed when they brought my pizza with sausage, which was not a topping I ordered.........so second time they brought another pizza that also had some sausage on it. The THIRD time they finally got it right, and it tasted good.......except I was exhausted and waitress was nice, and so was another lady who I guess was a manager..........but was disappointed after going through all this that I was not given a discount of some kind. The food was a bit oily, but other than that, it was good. What killed it for us was the customer service. When we first got there, we were told to choose our own seats (which is totally fine), but we never got our menus and I ended up having to go to the host stand to get it myself; after 15 mins of not getting one. After our order was taken, it took even longer for our food to arrive. We had got an appetizer and figured it would be the first thing out but ended up being brought out with the pizza. I understand if the location was busy, but it was pretty much empty besides maybe 4 other couples at the bar section (who were already served when we arrived). So we were confused as to why it was so long, and at the end of our service, we never got our check and had to go ourselves to the register to ask for one. I'm not one to complain about customer service, but it sucks that we pretty much had to do everything. The food isn't bad, and we wouldn't mind coming back again, but we'll probably do take-out next time. (Also, throughout the entirety of our service, there was this lady (who I'm assuming might be a manager) coming to our table pretty often to ask if we were okay, seems like she was there more than us actually getting what we ordered.)

Pizza was meh. My coworkers recommended this place and I regret listening to them. The pizza is expensive, half of my pizza was burnt around the crust and the sauce is to sweet for my family's palate. Won't be reordering.

Ordered one day prior for pickup, I arrived 15 minutes early to check on order and pay. It was very busy but 45 minutes later I checked again and it was not in the oven. The pastrami and the few pickles were good, but the dough was just to chewy. Overall I won’t be ordering again.

Downey pizza is good, willing to wait 20 to 30 minutes... but when 40+ minutes on an online order. IF THEY CANNOT HANDLE THE ONLINE ORDER MAYBE THIS MIGHT NOT BE THE PLACE YOU SHOULD ORDER. THEY SEEM TO BE OVERWHELMED. EVEN STOP TAKING PHONE AND WALK IN ORDERS.

Reviews like this hurt to write because while the food was great, the staff left allot to be desired. After being told wait time would be abour 25 minutes for a party of 2 we opted to wait outside as large parties filled the small lobby and we had observed the hostess with red hair multiple times step outside to call the names of the people on the list. After 15 minutes we stepped back inside and proceeded to wait another 15 minutes in front of the host stand before noticing we weren’t being called. During this time no other names were called and the hostess continued to ignore us. When we asked how much longer she informed us they had called us but didn’t see us. I wonder what makes all the other names important enough to look for outside but not ours. She told us if we wanted to wait it would a some time so we decided to let it slide and move forward hoping the pizza made up for it. And it honestly might have, if our waiter remembered to put it in! After about 30 minutes after receiving and finishing our amazing appetizers we began to question how the larger parties around us had already received their pies when our party of 2 was seated and had ordered before them. We brought jt up to the amazing bus boy (who was the only one whose service was 10/10) and he finally found our waitress who informed us she had forgotten to ring up our order. Once I can understand but twice feels unprofessional. Had it not been for the bus boy making sure my drink was never empty we might have never gotten our pizza. The thing is when we finally did it was amazing. The combination of ingredients in there signature pizza dish work really well together and when paired with the warm seasoned crust it was hard to put down. It’s the perfect amount of meats yet doesn’t overpower the veggies. The wings and pasta salad were also great appetizers. The sauce on the salad worked well with the varieties of veggies included. And the wings were everything you can ask from buffalo wings. Juicy and sliding off the bone. The cooks need better representation because the amazing food is tainted by the experience provided by the front of house.

Food was good but some of the girls had attitude. They couldn't really accommodate more than 4 people at a time. So if you have a big party go somewhere else.

The pizza is good, but the service and communication needs a ton of improvement.

Pizza wasn't that good, honestly it wasn't worth what we paid which was 30$ for two mini pizzas barbecue and the pastrami pizza and some buffalo wings. The barbecue sauce was bland and the chicken didn't taste barbecued (rolling my eyes) but seriously. The wings were ok. In my opinion Pizza Hut on south and woodruff next to 7 eleven is better and cheaper.

Placed an order for two pizzas, both confirmed over the phone. Drove 30 minutes to pick up, only to find when I got home the order was wrong. When I called back, I had to explain the issue to three people. One employee rudely said, “what do you want me to do about it,” and the manager told me “there’s nothing I can do, the girl is new.” Mistakes happen, but the way they handled it was unprofessional and rude. Zero accountability, zero customer service. Won’t be coming back.

I recently had a rather disappointing experience with Downey Pizza Company. I ordered a large pizza for pick-up, expecting to enjoy a full, delicious pizza with my family. However, upon reaching home and opening the box, we were taken aback to find a slice missing. We immediately called the restaurant to voice our complaint, but instead of understanding our concern, they were quick to defend themselves. They asked us to count the slices, and indeed, there were 12 slices. But the gap left by the missing slice was too big to be ignored. The restaurant tried to convince us that the pizza might have shifted during transportation, but I find that hard to believe. The gap was too large to be a result of a simple shift. It seemed more plausible that one of the cooks had taken a slice out of one of the pieces and then sent the pizza out. I have attached a photo for you to judge for yourself. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I am not sure if I will be returning to Downey Pizza Company anytime soon. I expected better service and honesty from a restaurant of this caliber. In conclusion, I am disappointed with the service and the lack of professionalism shown by Downey Pizza Company. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their service in the future.

Place feels a little dank inside. Pizza is ok, but service is not great. Hotesses are very snobby. My son does not eat pizza so we brought him a few chicken nuggets, but they would not have it. Strict no outside food policy. Was hoping they would make an exception because all the adults would be eating pizza and drinking beer but they would not budge. We ended up going to round table where they do not mind at all.

Do not recommend this location due to extremely poor customer service. I ordered one item and was given something completely different. When I pointed out the error, four staff members argued with me about it in front of other customers and told me I had to bring the incorrect order back before they would correct their mistake. I was told the replacement would take five minutes. After waiting 15 minutes, my entire order was cold and I was still waiting. I asked to speak with a manager, but no one acknowledged my request or came to assist. I was later informed that no manager was on site and was instructed to call at 9 PM before closing to speak with a manager (Esad/Cesar). When I did, the manager sided with the staff without addressing the situation or offering any apology. Beyond the service issues, the pizza itself was mediocre and not worth the drive or the wait. If you value good customer service and quality food, I would strongly suggest going elsewhere. Mistakes happen in any business, but arguing with a customer, ignoring requests for management, and showing no accountability especially in front of other patrons is unacceptable. I will not be returning

Order a large pepperoni, sausage and olive pizza. I took a bite, there was a pieces of metal or something hard very dark in color. I almost broke my tooth. This is a safety issue and will be reported for safety. I could have chocked or broke my tooth. I spit out my food really fast to inspect the pizza. I've attached a picture. I'm so upset. Please prepare your pizza in a safe environment. I thought it might be a mouse nail which it looks like it could be too. Ugh that's so gross.
