Just to be clear, it's not greatly expensive to eat and drink here. Our tabs were a little more than usual because we did not let the birthday girl pay for her food and drinks. The atmosphere is fun and funky. The drinks have cool names. There are a few more things I would like to see on the menu but overall it's a great time. I dined on the toasted.Grilled cheese and brussel sprouts and [almost] an entire bowl of Shishito peppers. My one cocktail was 'The floor is Guava ' ... Bamboo Club is a really great place to have a party.
Good drinks, place is nice... Just another Tiki bar!!
Cool little place to chill with a tropical feel! A crowd of all ages, a lively staff and music that you can't help but dance to and if you know nothing about that type of music. It was definitely a nice little energetic bar to visit after a long day. Cool vibes and very clean!
The drinks are amazing! Not too sweet, real ingredients, unique and delicious. Such a cute spot. The food was really good too. Fries, peppers, pork burrito bowl, chicken sandwich and vegan pad Thai were all satisfactory at our table 😋😋
Been here so many times! Had my favorite Mochiko chicken with Mac salad and rice. My friend had the grilled cheese and French fries. Everything was cooked to perfection. Drinks were good. The lava flow wasn't as sweet as I remember but not a bad thing. Service was excellent as always. Vibe is always great. Definitely check it out and depending what time you do, make a reservation!
Ok the drinks at The Bamboo Club will get your cap twisted all the way back. Yep, they are deceptively delicious. One second you’re sipping away with a innocent enough looking flower in a glass type drink. Next second, it’s get me an Uber, I can not drive like this. lol. Love the friendly neighborly vibes here too. Just an all around good place to hang out and chill, socialize, and if you’re not careful, get your cap twisted.
This place is really great ! I love it so much I have visited here since I moved to Long Beach in 2017 I don’t live there anymore so it was great to be back the food is 10/10 all the time. It was a very packed night so we had to look for a table and go to the bar to order food and drinks . They were short staffed and I had told a lady who was cleaning tables to help clean ours but she said a his boy will come around and do it . It did upset me because she went around other tables and cleaned theirs so I clean it up myself or tried removing the plates silverware and glasses. I then told an older black gentleman to assist me and he did super sweet and kind . Thank you! We also had the pleasure to meet Jason and made us laugh and checked on us to see if we needed anything and feedback on the food . Very packed on a Saturday night so please plan ahead . There is limited parking and you can definitely make reservations so I would suggest to do that if your celebrating a special someone♥️ and you can never go wrong with the $10 beer and shot 🫂
Great food and tiki cocktails! Very fun atmosphere.
This is a great place. You can go for brunch, dinner or just a drink. The decor is unique and you feel you are travelling to Hawaï! Cocktails are the best. My favorite the Singapour one not too sugary, well balanced and with a strong note of Pineapple. 🎶🎸 They always have great DJ’s and bands lined up like Plastered in Paris and the French Pop Decadanse nights.
Super cute place and somewhat hidden. Totally recommend instead of a less colorful establishment! Food was awesome and the service was 10/10
I'll be brief. If you enjoy Tiki bars, you gotta come to the Bamboo Club. It may not be the fanciest or have the history of some of So Cals other Tiki joints but you'll love the cocktails.
Checked out new Bamboo Club on St. Patrick's Day. For a bar that's still basically in a soft opening they are doing a great job. Drinks were great and the food (mushroom tacos) were awesome. Talked to the chef and they are working on expanding the kitchen with more vegan and vegetarian options which sound great. For now they are temporarily cash only but they do have an ATM. The decor was great and perfectvmysic for a tiki bar. Will definately be going back.
Drinks are absolutely beautiful and tasty, food is also good, and lunch specials are great!
First time here, very cool and relaxed tiki bar. Nice vibe and atmosphere. I had the grilled fish sandwich, was delicious. My wife had the Mochiko chicken, she loved it and she's picky. Will be back with friends.
Savanna was our bartender, server, and the manager during our visit. She was amazing. There was one other guy working that night named Gary. However, I didn’t see Savanna and Gary at the same time, so I can’t prove that wasn’t just savanna with a goatee and a bald cap. Also, this establishment DID NOT smell like Spagettios that night. Disappointing.
Amazing old-school tiki bar in LBC! This place will transport you back to the golden age of tiki! Inside and outside space, a huge selection of classic and new tiki cocktails, a very solid food menu, an awesome Happy Hour (weekdays from 3pm to 6pm), and a great SoCal tiki bar vibe!
What a fun place to have a good time. I come here with friends and they all love it. The staff is always consistent, and my friends enjoy the quality of the drinks. I dont drink alcohol so I can't confirm that. They do look good, though. Bartender definitely knows what they are doing. The bar food is pretty high quality, and I love it. It's good! Burgers, salads, appetizers, and main dishes are top-notch. The DJ plays great music that adds to the overall ambiance and vibe of the place. Clean bathrooms, no drama, no surly drunks, just good people having a good time. It's affordable and definitely worth the money. A great place to spend some time at!
We had a great time at the Bamboo club. We attended a RUM tasting event there recently and we sat n the outside area and had a great time. They are dog friendly out there so make sure that you bring your furry friend. We really enjoyed the food and custom drinks that were made. The interior decor is super cool and we will definitely be back to have more fun. See you there!
The cocktails are great!! Exotic and flavorful with a real kick— not just syrup and fruit juice. The mac salad lived up to the hype. I also ordered the Thai chicken sandwich, but it was too spicy for me, I switched dishes with my friend and enjoyed the pork belly bowl. The outdoor seating is great and they have ample heat lamps. It’s unassuming from the outside, but the inside has a lot to offer. Will definitely return with friends and family.
The tiki culture is alive and well at The Bamboo Club. It was entertaining to watch the bartenders put together the numerous tiki classic and inspired drinks. I can highly recommend the Dr. Bamboo. Perfectly blended mix of juices and rums. The Bamboo wings were crispy, tangy, juicy and the perfect complement to our drinks. Great mix of music from the DJ. Looking forward to going back for the Tiki market or plant sale!
We go here a lot! The food is always amazing and the service is great too! The iced tea is excellent as well!!!
I absolutely love this place! The food, drinks, service, and ambiance were all on point. The one and only problem, which is a big one, is that I have to drive over an hour to get here. I wish I could pick it up and put it next door to me. Guess I'll just have to visit family more! Oh darn lol 😆
The Vegan Loco Moco is really good due to a few ingredients: the mushroom gravy, chives, crispy shallots, and garlic boost the meal a lot. I prefer my rice puffier than fine with this meal. The Vegan patty tastes really good with The Bamboo Club's house hot sauce. The presentation of the meal is nice. The Bamboo Club is a chill-chill spot with an interior like a custom large tiki hut. There are multiple outdoorsy areas. You must wear a mask entering the establishment though may eat without a mask/when sitting. Customer service is good (for a seemingly busy night). Maybe it's because I drink water from a water bottle before drinking the water from the establishment that contributes to me tasting the establishment's water as I do. As of my last visit, they do not accept digital forms of payment; cash or card only.
Had an amazing time here. The food was great and the drinks were even better. Our server Savanna was hands down the best thing about the whole experience. She was fun and informative and just overall an absolute joy to interact with. Definitely coming back and would recommend to anyone looking to have a fun night out or get your tiki fix in.
Great neighborhood tiki bar! The drinks are strong and not very sweet. Had the oysters on the half shell for appetizers and they were huge, and fresh. Great lunch specials for on $12, add a mai tai for only $5 more. We got the Loco Moco with Spam instead of the hamburger patty, it was delicious! The bread pudding was good too, topped with mango sorbet and drizzled with carmel. The food comes right out after ordering. There is some free parking in their small lot, or on adjacent side streets.
Mellow lunch location and probably a fantastic hangout for evenings with friends! Great drinks, loved the mac salad with Sriracha and the fried chicken plate should send other Hawaiian chain joints back to school! Parking is mostly street unless you get lucky, so ride-sharing is probably the play on a busy night!
We LOVED this place. We were staying nearby for the night and wanted to go out. We found this place online and decided to drop by and I am so glad we did. The drinks were amazing and the food was fantastic! We must've tried darn near every food item on the menu because everything sounded so good. We started with the Shishito peppers and they were sweet and mostly mild. A hot one every 10 or so peppers. Then we had the Spaghetti Squash Pad Thai which was great! We almost ordered a second. Masubi was good. Different than normal Masubi, but good nonetheless. We tried a massive amount of their drinks and all of them were lip-smackingly amazing. The Lava Flow, Saturn, Pain Killer, and a number of their beers were all worth going alone. Everyone that worked there was amazingly kind and more than willing to walk us through our first time there. The DJ that was there with a myriad of vinyl records kept the atmosphere buzzing with Hawaiian Beach music from all decades. If you happen to be in the area, drop by. Needless to say, after $350+ I would recommend The Bamboo Club to anyone looking for a Tiki bar in Long Beach. Drop by before your cruise to get you in the island/vacation mood. We will be back!
Halfway through the meal we decided that we were coming back. Food was great and perfect for the price. Music was good but not overwhelming so we could talk. Great spot. We got to enjoy their Tuesday specials and we tried every single taco on their specials each one was better than the last. Do not sleep on their potato taco. It was so much better than we expected.
Great atmosphere! There is indoor and outdoor seating so you can pick what fits for you. Large drink and food menu with a ton of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, which I really appreciated. If you're sober or don't drink you can order fun tiki-style drinks without alcohol and they're all delicious. They have traditional Hawaiian style food options with plenty of vegan versions as well. I highly recommend the vegan Loco moco. Great place to hang out with friends and your dog! It gets very busy on weekends and event nights, so go for happy hour during the week or make a reservation for the more popular days.
Best atmospheric bar I’ve been to locally! Bartender was great and super accommodating, very chill vibe from the workers, and a lively dancing community tearing it up at this small but mighty dance floor. I was there last night with 15 friends and we all agreed it was one of the cooler bars we live by. I walked up to the bar to order a drink. A person behind the counter with two long Lucious braids asked if I been helped, before I have a chance to respond they say something about a “mess” referring to some napkins that were in front of me (reminder, I JUST walked up to the bar). Then they grab the napkin detritus and said very aggravated “i have to clean up after you people”… I did not appreciate the assumption that I was making a mess of their bar!! I wouldn’t disrespect the space like that, I ended up wiping counters I wasn’t even sitting at before I left because this person made me feel so guilty OVER SOMETHING I DIDN’T EVEN DO. After they cleared the napkin, they walked away to the front and another bar tender took my order. Thanks for the fun night and good drinks guys!
The drinks are wonderful. We had the jet pilot, thai me a river, and a few more. The service was sweet and attentive. The Mac salad is SO creamy and delicious!!! They even have a $10 and under menu if you're on a budget. And at a tiki bar???? Hell yes!
Came here once just by chance and got absolutely HOOKED after that first mojito 😍 I've never been to a bar where every bartender is so consistently excellent. Whatever your favorite cocktail is, they'll make it best here. Not only are the drinks the best in long beach (I've lived here 27 years i really don't know a better spot!), but the food and ambiance is really killer. The fried broccolinis always keep me and my cousins satisfied (and craving more) while we're vibing to the great music selection, and if you're lucky enough to come here for dinner then I'll just let you find out how good this place is. I'm a vegetarian and they have lots of options for me ;) which is a big win in my book. Even with all that being said I still think the music and ambiance might be the best thing about this bar. The music is loud enough to dance to by the dance floor, but you can still hold a great conversation just about anywhere in the bar. THE MUSIC DOESN'T SUCK. They don't play any top 40 or hip hop, none of the music that EVERY other bar in LA/OC is playing... you'll hear some classic and Latino funk, you'll hear new wave and 80s, you'll hear ska or reggae, you'll cut it up to some cumbias on the dance floor, they even play Bing Crosby during Christmas 😂😎. The drinks of the Christmas menu are a must try. This is a good spot if you're looking for a place to have a great drink and truly enjoy yourself at a chill and SLOW pace ;) if you're looking to stack up phone numbers and meet up with other frat bros, try good bar down the street. Thanks for making the year great Bamboo Club.
My wife and I stumbled back into Bamboo Club tonight, and it felt like coming home. This place used to be our go-to spot when we were out a bit more often — the Jungle Birds and Pina’s were always our favorites. Tonight, Dustin behind the bar introduced us to a new classic — Two Dots and a Dash — and it was absolutely fantastic. His service was spot-on: friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. The atmosphere here is just unbeatable — from the warm glow of the tiki lights to the perfectly crafted cocktails, everything reminds you why Bamboo Club is a premiere tiki destination. Whether you’re a long-time fan or just discovering it, this is the kind of place that makes you want to linger over one more drink and soak it all in.
The go-to spot and top bar on my list in Long Beach! A dimly lit and atmospheric tiki bar (with a patio in the back) great for dinner with the family or a night out drinking. They have a large menu that’s very accommodating for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free modifications! Different events are hosted nearly everyday of the week including sick shows, be sure to check their event calendar ahead of time! Even on packed out nights I’ve never had an excessive wait time to get a drink at the bar but do keep in mind this place does get busy due to it’s popularity (rightfully so) If you’re planning to grab lunch or dinner reservations are HIGHLY recommended especially for large groups, wait times varies but can sometimes be a few hours during peak times
I've been coming to this spot since it's opening, and before that (Liquid Lounge) and to see how far it has progressed is just amazing! The look of the bar is very cool, in the sense that it maintains a divey feel with an awesome tiki ambiance! Several artists within the tiki culture have contributed to the interior of the location. The drinks are well made and well balanced, as fresh juices and syrups are prepared in-house daily. Don't see a drink on the menu. The above average bartenders can make it. The food items on the menu are really delicious, and there is a weekend brunch menu. Check it out. Food items are a complete meal, so definitely try breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. This spot does have bands and DJs, so check the schedule! Also, check the calendar for special events, as it can get crowded during these events. This is one of those spots you should definitely look into if you find yourself in the area! Tiki enthusiasts, definitely a place to go, but all will enjoy! Perhaps make reservations if you anticipate a crowd, but they do accommodate walk-ins. I love this spot. It's definitely on my top spots of places to go. Cheers, and I'll see you there!
Super duper cute place to check out. With amazing fruity delicious drinks as well to meals. I got myself a vegan burger 🍔 I honestly wasn’t disappointed 🙂↕️ came here with my boyfriend & some friend everyone loved it. Got busy during the time we left around 7pm ish. So I highly recommend if you got open table to make a reservation if you want a booth to sit just actually enjoy youre food & drinks with friends.
Great spot! On a recent visit to The Bamboo Club, we had a decent-sized group and a few family members from out of town. We found The Bamboo Club, which accepted reservations on a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were met with a friendly host who guided us to the outdoor patio. A live DJ played swing, surf, and tiki upbeat music. The type that keeps your foot moving to the beat. A few patrons danced in the open floor area, keeping the atmosphere lively. The outdoor patio had plenty of room for small and large parties. The inside area looked chill and moody, but there was little room for our party of nine. We glanced over the enticing menu on our phones. We started with some specialty drinks and a few shareable starters. There were many options for drinks, and our party mainly chose the classic Mai Thai. For the shareables, we ordered Vietnamese Drummettes, LB House Fries, and Shishito Peppers. All were delicious! I ordered the Ginger beer and Huli Grilled Chicken Sandwich with mac salad. The grilled chicken was tender and juicy and had great flavor. The mac salad was creamy and had an al dente chew. My family ordered a variety of items, which they seemed to enjoy. We all shared a couple of desserts to finish the meal. The Thai Tea Créme Brulée had nice flavors but was a little runny and almost soup-like. I hope this was just one that was far from perfect. Bread Pudding with coconut sorbet was my favorite of the two. It was topped with Whalers rum caramel, coconut flakes, and pineapple flambé. Yum! Lastly, we all had a great time, and the service was friendly and attentive. I would come back again and highly recommend it. Parking can be a challenge since the lot is small. The other option for parking is around the residential streets. Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are also welcome.
Came here via wife's invitation and enjoyed mixed cocktails and their food items from the menu. Pretty chill place for drinks. Tiki themes atmosphere, large outside patio with plenty of seating. I got their "Lava Flow" mixed drink, coconut essence, strawberry and a strong rum to savor. Wife got their "Blue Lagoon" Double cross Vodka, lime, pineapple, creme de peche, blue Curacao to give that nice blue color. I ordered their "Michico Chicken", wife ordered their Adobo Pork belly bowl and our daughter had their bread pudding. Coming back after 2 years and actually dining inside was a completely different experience. The atmosphere was quite the treat with its 'Tiki' style essence. The music selection was on point (Exotic Tiki Lounge) which was very fitting for the mood. Ordered their Loco Moco which was very rich in the savory gravy and very delicious, the egg could have been runny, however I still enjoyed it for the first time. We also ordered their crispy chicken wings which were very tasty and delicious as well. The restaurant is clean, organized, server was very friendly and accommodating. The music made the experience well worth it! This is a nice place to check out if you are in the area. I gave them a five stars up, down and all around ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Bamboo Club in Long Beach is the spot for Sunday brunch if you're looking for various food options and fun cocktails. The vibe is cozy yet lively, perfect for a place to catch up with friends. The breakfast burger hit the spot and the drink selection is fantastic—seriously, there are so many to choose from—not to mention their fun tiki-inspired presentation. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I never thought of Bamboo Club for brunch, but I'll be back!
I recently went to brunch here with one of my friends and we had the best time! I got the Dr. Bamboo and the Bye Bye Ladies. I enjoyed both drinks very much, the bye bye ladies was very heavy on coconut side and very creamy so just be aware of that! We started with the parfait to share, it really set the tropical mood being served in a pineapple. I got the Loco Moco for food and it was amazing!! It was a great dairy free option and I THINK gluten free but dont quote me on it. You can always opt out for no gravy but it was more broth than lime a thick flour gravy.
This place was amazing, we went on a Saturday around 1pm. Honestly we didn’t know what to expect it was a bit dark when we went inside. Once we order our first drink it was game over. I got a Mai Tai and the Nina Fresa (10/10). The chicken sandwich however amazing that first bite that crunchiness was out of this world. My girl is not a big fan of Cold slaw and pickles and ate it all I was amazed. The Mac was a 7/10 not our favorite but still passed. We will definitely be back.
Great afternoon at the Bamboo Club with the Long Beach Aloha Caftan Society! The Dr Bamboo was delightful and refreshing. I had the teriyaki chicken (it had a fancier name that I don't recall), and subbed in the Brussels Sprouts for 1 of the sides. Kinda sweet tasting and nothing like what grandma used to force you to eat! My 2nd drink was the Zombie. Very tasty. Big plates, great drinks, great service, and great tiki ambiance!
This was my first time here and it was a good experience. I like nearby so I was able to walk here. I've heard plenty of people talk about this place but had never experienced it for myself. Honestly its bigger than what I thought from the outside. I had the jet pilot drink and it was by far the best tasting strong drink I've ever had. The food was good and so was he service. I'll definitely come back to try more stuff
Nice service & ambiance but for some reason you have to be careful ordering from different server because apparently they did not communicate. It was my fault for not chking my receipt til later. They were supposed to charge for only 1 reg price but got charged for 2.I ordered 2 Mai Tai's happy hour price.Overall service was good but hopefully its just a miscommunication.
The last times I've been here, the food was on point, and this time, we were all pretty disappointed. Cold spam masubis with old tasting rice. The drinks are always GREAT. The service is usually better, too (maybe due to the holidays they were short), but the atmosphere/ music was awesome. Don't get me wrong. I'll be back and try again. I really like this place.
Atmosphere was pretty good, but the drinks were over price and they tell you that you've got about 2hrs for table time then you are welcome to stand or find a seat at the bar. Cutie decorations for Halloween
Went on Hump Day. Well, It was cool. Diverse and Chill. Very small selection of bottled beer. None of my favorites. Seemed to be a watered down selection of tap. Honestly felt nothing from a tall glass. Tolerance? I showed up at 830 with a friend and played a couple games of pool for cash and had a moderately good time. There's nothing wrong with moderation. It's not always turn up time, yet I don't doubt that this place turns up. Decor was everything. So in depth. Very detailed and artistic. I had to post a few pics of the pool area where I did most of my dwelling. Come and let your company and your own inner fun bring out the life in this place. If you can't do that, do not go. At least not before 11. Check out the outer area!
Visited this place over the weekend and it is a solid good place. The environment was good, the people were fun and courteous, and the food was good. The Good: They are not shy with the pour on the drinks. Drinks were very strong in alcohol content. I would even go as far as saying if you are light drinker to ask for a side of juice to add to your drink. The food has interesting takes and it was worth trying something new. The not so good: Overall the food was good, however, there was inconsistency in the taste for some of it. For example, the macaroni salad I had could have less of the garlic spice that is added. It gave it almost like a Wasabi kick when eating it. I ate it but I can see someone not going for it if that is the recipe. Recommendation: Try the Pork Belly Plate. I thought it was great!
Important! Make a reservation! I kid you not! I was a walk-in during the weekend, and it was packed. Must admit, the atmosphere was great 👍 fun 😁 and lively 😀. Fortunately, we found bar seats and enjoyed the night m. Great 🎶 music , great people of all walks of life. Small but fun dance floor. Many patios and seats and tables. Overall, it's a fun place to hang out for a first date for a meet up ect. Little parking lot at the front, so park at nearby streets. Bar 🍸 drinks were amazing - strong, cool looking, and fun ! Thanks for a great time! A strong 4.25.
When we entered through the entrance I was welcomed with the fresh smell of the fountain that smelled like literal sewage water. Lol We made reservations a week in advance and yet they seated us right next to the DJs speaker. Thankfully our waitress let us move to a better spot away from the loud music. Drinks were alright but pricey for what you get and they don’t have a variety of beers on tap. Parking here sucks, you’ll need to park on the street. The steak on our steak sandwich was really over cooked and the Mochiko chicken was decent. All in all the staff here is AWESOME and really friendly. It’s a pretty ok dive bar with nice decorations that could use a deep cleaning.
The Bamboo Club in Long Beach is a vibrant Tiki-themed Bar and Restaurant that combines lively ambiance with a touch of tropical flair. Although we went there primarily for drinks because we already had our dinner, our experience was this unique spot in a sense. The Bamboo Club is full of energy characteristic of a classic Tiki bar. The interior, which begins as a cozy bar and extends to a spacious back patio, creates a dynamic environment. The patio, in particular, stands out with its open-air feel and relative tranquility compared to the indoor area, making it an excellent choice for those who prefer a quieter, more relaxed setting. Service at The Bamboo Club was good. Our server was attentive and efficient, ensuring that drinks were delivered promptly. The consistent check-ins reflect a commitment to good service, enhancing the overall experience and allowing guests to focus on enjoying their time. Although we didn’t sample the food, the drinks were a highlight. The Tiki-themed cocktails are often a focal point at such establishments, and it sounds like The Bamboo Club delivered on that front. Whether the cocktails were traditional or unique creations, their quality added to the enjoyment of our evening. The availability of parking right in front of the venue was a convenient touch, alleviating potential stress and making the visit smoother. Overall Impression: The Bamboo Club successfully combines a lively Tiki bar atmosphere with solid service and a pleasant setting. The transition from a cozy bar to a spacious, quieter patio makes it a versatile choice for various preferences. The Bamboo Club can be a fun night out with friends. The ease of parking further adds to the overall experience, making it a convenient spot to unwind and enjoy some well-crafted cocktails.
Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Food: Drinks: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: 4/5 Fantastic first time at The Bamboo Club! Savanna was our server, and she had amazing recommendations, and she was overall amazing! The drinks had tiki classics as well as new creations. I didn't rate the food, as we didn't try much. Definitely a different style of tiki bar but worth it to check out!
We went to this place spur of the moment and it was pretty good. We sat on the Patio area and it is pretty large but if you want to sit inside I highly recommend a reservation and specifying you want an indoor table. The drinks were fabulous I had a cloud cutter and it was the right mix of liquor and hibiscus, the mint garnish also enhanced the flavor of the cocktail. For the food we had the spam musubi which I personally wouldn’t recommend as the rice was a bit dry and the spam wasn’t browned to my liking and lacked that sweet sauce I love. The mac salad was nice and creamy though and the bahn mi salad was super fresh and the added chicken was super moist ask for extra dressing as it totally makes the dish. We had the bread pudding for dessert and it was amazing, slightly custardy and topped with caramelized pineapple and mango sorbet. We had a good time here and hope to go back to try more food.
I did not try the food but everyone in our group did & said it was great. We went for shit show bingo, which I highly recommend. The service was very below average, server forgetting drinks on every round ordered & not coming back to check on us for extended periods. We were on the patio & it was a busy Sunday funday so maybe that's a factor.
Cool spot. Solid menu. Terrible service. Unsure if it was because it busier than staffing could handle for Black Friday but patio seating sucked. Also, server canceled the survey when paying lol. Couldn’t even answer it.
Mock-tails were fantastic and delicious. Fried spam musubi was a great twist to what we know. The pork belly was tasty but small in quantity. The vegan unagi burger was full of flavors. I didn’t like much the macaroni salad which was too greasy to eat and not much flavor. They do have other vegan options which are amazing. The Thai tea crème brûlée was a great way to end the meal. I highly suggest the drinks.
I'm very conflicted about the Bamboo Club there are things I really like and things I don't. I believe that the Bamboo Club has potential to be a great Tiki bar but has some things to work on. I'll start with the PROS: I love the look of the building from the outside it looks like it from the 1960's and that is a really good thing. The inside also has that same vibe with straw and lights adorning from the bar. Now let's get to the drinks! The drinks are really really good! We tried the U. S. O. Monroe, Slap and Tickle and the River Dragon all very distinct in flavor and delicious. I definitely want to try more they have many. The food is very unique and flavorful. Loco Moco was tasted how it should and the Scorpion Burger very was nice and spicy. Now to the CONS: I made reservations on a Sunday at 5pm and arrived on time but when I got there the host said everything was taken. So what is the point of making reservations? I believe it's mainly just to have a estimate of how many people might show up that day. I will say that the host / waitress did not have us wait long for a table. I might be getting old but the music was just to loud on bad sound system, very distorted and unpleasant. I'm not sure if the Bamboo Club is really embracing the Tiki Vibe and experience they have great Tiki cocktails but also serve Modelo. I think beer should be available but you can still find beer to fit the motif of Tiki. The Tiki experience really needs to be at the forefront of the location. There is this community of Tiki enthusiasts who are dying for more locations to visit and most of them are more than willing to spend cash to have that experience. When you have people in there who are going to be drinking Modelos getting dunk and start kicking stools you are not helping your cause. There is also this feeling of not really being welcome but it could have been that they were to busy to really to be more hospitable. I think The Bamboo Club has great potential to be a place Tikiheads will want to go. I understand that it is fairly young establishment and all that comes with time just like Golden Tiki in Las Vegas so I am very hopeful that it does in the future. All in all I do plan on going again just to see if maybe I just went on a bad day and maybe it will be different.
Love the food and the drinks are good, but service can really be hit or miss. I’d like to return based on great previous experiences, but my most recent visit to The Bamboo Club had really slow service. I just ended up walking out after waiting 30 minutes. They seemed understaffed and unprepared for how busy it was.
This place is dark but does have a lit outdoor patio. Takes awhile to get a drink because of the complexities of some of the Tiki drinks. Had a Pina colada. It was strong enough. Grilled cheese with fries were cold. Probably because they made it before finishing the Pele wings a friend ordered. Super disappointed about that. Friend said wings were spicy and good. Grilled cheese had potential if hot. It was super greasy too. Coverage charge when we went.
Service was just ok. Drinks are not consistent. One round is good, next round not so much, for the exact same drink. Food is decent. Prices are reasonable.
Husband and I enjoy tiki bar type places so decided to give this place a try. Well it wasn't decorated in enough tiki decor. Server was just ok, never came back after we got our food to see if everything was ok. Hubby had a burger, I had a grilled cheese and we split a mai tai and bought the glass. Fries tasted like they were from the day before...yuk. The one thing that bothered us both is that the music was LOUD and it was death metal...in a tiki bar?? We don't anticipate coming back....just not our vibe.
Novelty tiki bar that serves food from burgers to Hawaiian dishes. The food is delicious, but comes out of the kitchen a little too quickly. The inside of this tiki bar is dark and dinghy, with the patio needing a little more than some bamboo and a fountain to continue the tiki vibe. The drinks are what makes a tiki bar a tiki bar and they are great concoctions. We only wish that there was more liquid and less ice for the price. At about $17 per drink.. a glass full of ice that with the first sip empties 2/3 of the drink makes you question how much liquid is there. It felt like shots were bought and then poured into a glass full of crushed ice. The macaroni salad and peppers would be the two dishes to get and share at the table.
I would totally give this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the bartender. By far, the slowest and rude I've ever experienced at a bar. It was semi-busy, I waited 20+ minutes standing there. Even when there was no one to serve, he didn't even bother asking me. He just started to cut up some bar sides instead. And when I asked if I could order, he said wait till I finish. I spoke with a couple and they also experienced similar. Love the DJ and the decor. Something needs to be done about that guy. It ruined my night.
The bartenders are not nice or helpful. The reason: They charge a MANDATORY 18-20% on a BAR TAB, so they don’t have to be. They know they are going to get a big tip no matter what. 18% on an actual dinner tab is okay, but seriously a bar tab! The setting is nice and we didn't eat so I can't comment. The Royal Hawaiian in Laguna is much better. Get rid of the extortion...I mean "service charge" and maybe we'll come back.
They charge a mandatory 20% for something they call "Tinsel Club" but you never know what the club is. No freebies, no discounts, nothing. Just 20% because they say so. And they still have thr nerve to ask for additional top on thr receipt. In addition, we waited forever to be served. Bartenders walked by us as if we weren't there. Other patrons were waiting just as long and they said so. The host up front didn't seem to know how to use a tablet and it took him 15 minutes to say we could just walk in without reservations. The food was mediocre at best. Very dry rice and orange chicken. I should have gone to Panda Express. The drinks are good but they don't carry the weight of this establishment. Other places make great drinks too with better service.
Don't charge your customers a mandatory 18% tip on a bar tab, especially when your bar tenders aren't very welcoming or friendly. Save your money and drive a little further south to the Royal Hawaiian in Laguna. $10 happy hour drinks and 1/2 off appetizers.
Tremble Club Review 1. The halloween drink menu has a ton of cool options. That the bartenders appear to hate making. And all of the drinks are over $20. 2. After you pay, they tell you there's a mandatory %18 gratuity because of the type of drinks and the "halloween" experience. 3. The bus boy who tried to take a drink i wasnt finished with was a jerk. I stopped him and asked for it back. He said, "its empty are you dead in the head." I said, "no there's at least my 18% gratuity in there." He stomped off then proceeded to complain about me and point to me amongst the staff. This bar is for a specific niche crowd. And despite it being a full on tiki bar, there seems to be an attitude about ordering the drinks and being able to finish them. Over this place.
Today we (and others at tables) waited 30+ minutes for drinks we ordered before just leaving without them. Server said they were busy but the bartenders were only making drinks for people at the bar?? Bizarre. Never had this happen at a bar before.
