I sold newspapers for the Long Beach Press Telegram in front of this place during the 1980s. I loved it's food and we will be coming back to visit before we take a cruise out of Long Beach. Update: My wife and I stopped in and ate breakfast on Nov. 2nd. We learned your waiter has worked there for over 40 years. My wife had crepes and fruit. I thoroughly enjoyed my scrambled eggs, corned beef with potatoes and wheat toeat. This visit was amazing. The food was awesome. I love the chance to experience this restaurant. A few things have changed but your food quality cannot be any better. I give this place a solid 5 stars. Thank you for being here and letting me revisit my past. FYI very handicap accessible. I even had space for my portable oxygen and walker.

Good food, fast service and pretty reasonable pricing. You do get alot of food. They have a fresh bakery display that looks wonderful. Just went there once but I'd be willing to go back.

Pretty good burger. Busiest breakfast place I’ve seen in Long Beach so far. Nice people too! Update: Went back and ate outside. I like this place! Wasn’t so busy this time, still got top notch service. Get the strawberry lemonade!!

The food was good the waiter was very nice and polite. The reason for the 4 stars is my cinamon french toast was more toast than French. I'll be going again soon I'll try it again. Maybe it was just this time. 🤔 For those that don't cook thus means it was a little dry. Even with syrup and butter it was a bit dry. Taste was definitely there I just expect it to be a little more consistent, and flavorful 😋

Ate here for lunch/brunch on a late Sunday morning. The place was busy - but we were able to be seated pretty quickly (group of 5). The food took awhile to arrive - but it was pretty good. My son liked his pancakes and the BLT was tasty.

The Original Park Pantry is exactly what a classic neighborhood diner should be—friendly, no-frills, and satisfying. Service is warm and unhurried, and the wall of vintage photos and newspaper clippings tells you this spot has been a local favorite for decades. Comfort food done right.

We decided to give this place a chance after hearing all the hype. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The service was decent, although it seemed like they might have been short-staffed. The food was good but nothing special. See the attached photos for reference. The location is right off the main street, so parking can be tricky, though we didn't have any issues. However, the outdoor seating is right by the street, which can get loud with cars passing by frequently. This might be a downside if you prefer a quieter atmosphere. Overall, we liked this place but may not visit often since we don't live nearby.

I've been coming to Park Pantry once a week for at least a year, usually the service is great. But today after ordering the bacon breakfast burrito with fajita veggies, they added a $3.99 charge for the bell pepper and onion fajita veggies, as in less than a handful of veggies. Then when I asked them to show me on the menu where it said I would have to pay extra to add these veggies, the manager said, "It's not on the menu, but we charge extra for anything you add" I explained that if you are going to charge extra you should clearly state that on the menu like you do with the rest of the charges. He argued with me for five minutes before taking the charge off and telling me next time, I just need to "know." There wont be a next time for me, I dont like conflict and Im not usually a Karen about these things but you dont treat a regular paying customer that way... moral of the story always check your bill, and it may only be $4 but its the principal.

Today was the straw that broke the camels back. I've been a pretty regular customer since the late 80's.. So much so, that the servers recognize me and some even remember my name. I often bring others for breakfast or lunch. Over the years, I've seen the restaurant go through numerous changes. Some good, some not so good (mostly after new ownership) like the unfortunate price hikes and degredation in quality and consistency. Needless to say, I've experienced issues with incorrect food items being served and or lags in service which can hapen anywhere from time to time. Unfortunately today was a bit different. Today I was seated, the server was friendly as usual, coffee arrived in a timely fashion. Minutes later, I placed my order. 1 Denver Omelet no bell peppers with home fried potatoes and wheat toast. My food arrived in a timely fashion but once again, (of late) my order was incorrect or they were simply trying to fool me. Who knows? Perhaps it had something to do with the current egg shortage? You'd think they'd tell the customer. I received what at first glance, appeared to be an omelet (with bell peppers although I ordered it without). Unfortunately, it was more like a scramble (not the type they usually make here) with what could certainly be seen as 1 egg. Nothing really holding any of it together. I mentioned it to my server who insisted it was an omelet and didn't offer any solution. I asked how many eggs they use in an omelet and he stated three. Clearly not three eggs. This sort of thing has happened on a few occasions recently and I usually just suck it up and move on. Today, no deal. Especially at over $20 bucks! I know I could've sent it back and had it done right but why? Especially since this has become a bit of a common theme. I'm done. Especially with so many other places in the area serving the same type of food. At these prices, you MUST be on point. These days, The Pantry is slipping. I can't believe I'm saying this but, I will not be back.

I went to visit today and was seated. Not a water or a menu. We were ignored and not serviced for some reason. Then comes in a white couple, they get seated, then they received their menus and they received waters, not even within 5 minutes when they arrived…. Mind you, we have been there for at least 15 minutes and before they even arrived… this is 2025, I can’t believe that mentality still stands. The last time I ever come here.

I ordered from this restaurant a couple years ago and had a terrible experience with the food it tasted bad. Again today I ordered corned beef hash with eggs over easy. The corned beef hash tastes like pork sausage and the eggs over easy was delivered to me well done.

I do not recommend this place. It was disappointing as a first time here. From the time we arrived to the time we left we were experienced bad service. There was no acknowledgement when we arrived, I noticed the wall said sign in and wait outside and we did, my brother stayed inside we were a party of 7. My brother had to go out of his way to ask the wait time, the young man walked away did not say anything, once a different person arrived she asked if they could be seated and they told her our party was to be seated first. Same guy directed my brother to the table and just left. This young man attending him treated us like we were invisible from the start. We sat down he didn’t offer anything no one came and no one acknowledged us, a table of two who came later was already ordering and some time later I had to get up and ask if they were going to provide service. They send the same guy, he was talking to us like if we were bothering him, he had an attitude. Once he served us our drinks. No one came back, the whole table lacked spoons for their coffee. I had to flag an older gentleman for help he was helpful. And that was difficult too they don’t really have staff around. The female waiters were kind when they took our orders but they also ignored us from the beginning they walk around avoiding eye contact they could have said something as well, “someone will be with you” NO nothing, the woman who took our orders probably followed up twice to see if we needed anything. Your whole staff lacks service skills and manners including the man that was dressed differently that looked like he was supervising he did the bare minimum just sent someone after I went up. This was not an issue of a place being understaffed, I can be patient in waiting, we were deliberately ignored time and time again the service was deplorable, I would never come back here, I really hope other people keep this message in mind when deciding to eat here.
