Opinions de The Social List Long Beach
Just sitting at the bar is a vibe. Bartenders are very friendly and accommodating. Came in for Old Fashioned Fridays and it did not disappoint. Came awhile back around Halloween as well for the more expensive "build your own" old fashioned ...while I prefer those, I also love a good deal. Just know you're getting 100 proof on the build your own. The classic they use 80 proof. Still need to come back for food. 😅 Will update my review when I do! 🤠
Our server Estephania was the best! She was quick, efficient and dedicated to hosting a great brunch for us. We had mimosas, the shrimp shareable, a breakfast burger and a brisket scramble. The meat in the brisket scramble looked a little uncooked and fatty but other than that we enjoyed our visit.
The Social List is the absolute top spot to refuel while exploring Retro Row on Long Beach's 4th Street! Retro Row is a unique vibe—think the hipsters of Silver Lake meeting the locals of Abbott Kinney in Venice. It's cool, it's local, and it's full of energy. What We Ordered: The incredible Beef Brisket Nachos A crisp Chardonnay Our first ever (and surprisingly delicious) Matcha Beer This place is undeniably hip. Pro-tip: The best view and experience are always found at the bar!
Since it was brunch time, I got the peanut butter waffle and it was very filling. The berry topping was fresh and yummy. My server was nice and attentive. They still have their Halloween decor up and had on a witch themed playlist that was perfect. The patio was nice, but a little small. I'm looking forward to going back and trying their regular menu another day.
Absolutely blown away by my experience at The Social List! I ordered the Cubano, which was cooked to perfection, with the perfect balance of flavors in every bite. What really took the meal to the next level was the chef's recommended cocktail, which was a special that day. Unfortunately, I can't recall the name, but it paired flawlessly with the Cubano. The flavors complemented each other in such a delightful way that it made for an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere and service were top-notch as well. I can't wait to return. Highly recommend!
The Social List is a popular restaurant located in Long Beach, California, known for its lively atmosphere and eclectic menu. It features a mix of European and American-inspired dishes, often emphasizing small plates and shared meals. The restaurant is located in the vibrant area of Retro Row and is celebrated for its community-centric vibe, craft beers, and creative cocktails. The Social List also has an outdoor seating area, making it a favorite spot for locals and visitors to enjoy good food, drinks, and conversation in a casual, social setting.
Our service was great and helpful and attentive. My chicken and buscuits and gravy was REALLY REALLY good. We bought a bottle of champagne and pineapple juice, and it was excellent. Everyone loved their food and I would for sure sure sure go back. Super awesome eating brunch outside on a beautiful day 🌞
Not sure why we have not been to the Social List restaurant located on the Retro Row community of Long Beach, CA. But now that we have we are Ecstatic. They have delicious cocktails to enjoy. They even offer you the opportunity to purchase a bottle , have them make drinks from it and they will store it for you in the liquor cabinet for your next visit. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a tranquil afternoon people watching. We will definitely be back. See you there.
I decided to stop by for food and wine and I am so glad I picked this lovely little gem! Food: 9/10 The menu isn’t so vast so you aren’t overwhelmed with choices, but I still asked the bartender for his recommendation and I’m so glad I did! I had to take this place up on their statement that they had the best burgers in LB, and even though I got a burger with quite a bit going on it did not disappoint! Any meat lover will dive into the napoleon with pure delight and the red blend wine the bartender recommended to pair with the burger was purely divine. I am sad I couldn’t experience the fondue Gouda cheese and had to opt for the vegan cheese instead due to my extreme lactose and tolerance. The fries were the only part that was simply ok, I would recommend offering seasoned fries because they were quite bland, but perhaps it’s a great options for people not wanting to take in too much salt. Vegans can be happy with this joint because they have several vegan options! Also note they have beer on tap that isn’t in the menu. Service: 10/10 Luis took such good care of me and I enjoyed all of his recommendations. He was very attentive, patient, kind and knowledgeable of the menu. Ambiance: 10/10 Laid back and decent amount of seating. As usual I just seat myself at the bar. Clean and welcoming! Just be aware that the parking is the same as any other joint in DTLB, gotta cross your fingers and hope you get something close by. They’ve turned the street curb parking into paid parking. I lucked out and found an available spot in the neighborhood right around the corner.
Always a good time at the Social List. I have been coming for over 6 years and have never been disappointed. ............. Update: I went during 4th St. Fridays, and it's overly crowded at that time. I guess they are serving as many people as they can, but servers are bumping into people seated at their table, and that's not very comfortable. Also, since they created their new menu everything jumped up a bit in price but I guess you can't blame them foe keeping up with inflation. At the same time, they did just remodel, which I think was unnecessary, and I hope we're not just paying for that.
I was very surprised at how yummy the chicken and waffles were. A unique twist by it being bacon and jalapeño and cornbread. Went super well with my Bloody Mary! Definitely coming back here again with my friends.
Came here as a party of 10ish on a Friday. Lovely staff that allowed us to split 4 ways (that is their maximum). I ordered their brisket nachos and a friend ordered their Bleu Cheese Wedge salad, substituting the bleu cheese for cheddar and adding a seared seasame encrusted ahi tuna on top. They brought our food in a timely manner. The brisket nachos feed two, and if you’re a light eater maybe three. The brisket was okay but a slight bit dry, and the cheese is made Texas style with a bit of sweetness to it. The salad itself was huge, with lots for leftover. The atmosphere wasn’t particularly special but was nice.
I will note first that to me this place feels more like for drinking with food rather than a straight up restaurant with drink offerings. That's not a bad thing, if you planing a night out for drinking and having a bite this is a great choice. We were looking for more of restaurant vibe but still kept our reservation and ate here. Feels was good and service ok. Vibes were off for us but that's our fault.
Nice chill corner spot. We chose to be seated out doors, service was perfect and attentive. The menu option could've been better in my opinion. I visited for Sundays brunch. There is only 1 french toast option and 1 eggs Benedict option. I settled with 1 of their scramblers "brisket" avoid if you you're expecting brisket as i didn't taste or see any. We also tried chiliquliles their way, it was very different in a good way again chicken was the only meat option offered. Also, portions were small. I read reviews that stated they had bottomless mimosas, but that wasn't the case for my visit. A whole bottle of champagne w/ a mini carafe was $20. Think i would only visit again if i was in the area and wanted mimosas.
Great restaurant and great location. The menu has a lot of great options and a lot of vegan options as well. We were sat immediately, but the service was not the best. Took a while for everything to come out and to be checked on, but the food was delicious. Only exception was the pickled eggs - I think they just didn’t have enough time to pickle them because they tasted like regular hard boiled eggs. They were a little disappointing. Other than that, I will definitely be coming back and recommend this restaurant.
I recently dined at this restaurant, and while the food had good flavor, I was quite disappointed with my burger. It was more bread than meat, and at $22, it was the smallest burger I’ve ever had. The onions were tasty, but when I asked for extra ranch sauce, the waitress never brought it, even though I wouldn’t have minded paying extra. Overall, the service was good, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed with the food size.
Service, not great. No hostess to meet to check us in or get on a list. We waited forever and then finally flagged down a busy staff member. Two groups of the same size were sat before us even though we had arrived there prior. All three of us were walk ins. No server for 10 minutes after we got a table. No water service, no utensils or napkins. Our food arrived prior to our appetizer which we had to ask for and it came out cold. The food its self was mediocre. I asked for my burger patty medium and I got well done but it didn't taste too bad. I might be willing to try it again but not get a sandwhich. Priced decently.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would The burger was good. The fries had nice flavor. The surface was horrible really felt unwanted and unwelcome there. They had no blinds for the windows and they kept the windows open so there was a lot of flies. The sun was just beating on the back of my head. They had one bathroom for women and men which, of course it's Long Beach, but the weight was so long and there was no way to even stand in line because it would cross in front of the kitchen where they were bringing in and out food, it was very awkward. The staff had attitude. They forgot to bring us our condiments when we asked for ketchup and ranch. Then, when they did bring the ketchup they brought a bottle that was nearly empty. That was not even a serving for one person, but of course I didn't want to ask them for more because of their attitude was just horrible.
I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was so bad that I feel like people should be warned. From the moment we walked in, the service was terrible. The girl at the front was visibly rude, giving us angry looks, and when our server came over, he spoke so fast it was impossible to understand what he was saying. We thought we ordered clearly, but what came out was completely different—my son got just two chicken tenders, my mom got a mac and cheese, and the “best burger in Long Beach” (as advertised on the menu) turned out to be one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. It tasted like a frozen patty, was completely flavorless, and I couldn’t even finish it. The tenders were somehow even worse—so bad that the aftertaste lingered in my mouth long after trying them. My son urged me to taste one, and that was the final straw. I refused to pay for them, and instead of handling it professionally, the server got upset and said he would only charge us for the beers. In the end, we still ended up paying $35 for what was honestly one of the worst meals I can remember ever having. On top of that, the place was swarming with flies, which made the entire meal even more unpleasant. Overall, the food was inedible, the service was rude and chaotic, and the environment was unhygienic. I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
