Went with our Cross Country Team and filled out many seats and gave our server lots of work; indeed, our server Evonne was amazing ^_^! Thank you.

My waiter Trish is awesome, very knowledgeable of the menu, curtious to me as well as other customers. Very likeable and fun to have a waiter. Kudos to her and your establishment

The food was quite yummy. It's been years since I have eaten at a Hofs Hut, and what I had recently made me believe I should eat there more often . Hofs is now on my top 5 list. I ordered the slider plate which came with 3 juicy beef sliders, (I had them add cheddar too) , golden crispy fries and an ice cold pop! My plate was picture perfect and it tasted as good as it looked. I was impressed. And may I say it again...YUM!

Havent been here in a while, but they have fantastic food though.

This is one of apparently only 3 Hof's Hut locations remaining. They used to have restaurants all over the So. CAL area. Glad to say the food has not changed, if anything the quality seems even better than the memory of it. Another Covid impacted establishment that has the required patio seating to remain open for business. Welcomed with a cheerful smile at the door, escorted immediately to our table and the waitress was right there asking for drink orders. We perused the menus and made our choices, and mysteriously the waitress again appears to take our order. The food arrived in a timely manner and it was superb! I had ordered a breakfast of country fried steak and eggs, it came with a blueberry muffin that tasted like heaven, fresh baked and still warm. The server was also fantastic, the drink glassed never got more than half empty and she would sneak up and refill without being noticeable. Overall a great experience! If you are near a Hof,'s Hut, life is short, go in and enjoy a good meal!

We visited this location for the 1st time. We were greeted and seated right away on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch. We sat in the outdoor patio. It was raining and a bit cold but they had outdoor heaters, that made it perfect. We had their Thai chicken salad that was amazing. They split it in two equal portions. My wife had the Patty melt and I went with the French dip. All I can say was the food was nice and warm and everything was so tasty. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return soon!!

Amazing Brunch Experience at Hof's Hut We recently visited Hof's Hut for brunch and had a fantastic experience. The ambiance on the patio was delightful, offering a comfortable and inviting space. It was great to see so many families enjoying their meals together, which added to the warm and friendly atmosphere. We ordered the mimosa tray, which was not only a great value but also a perfect way to start our meal. The food was outstanding—my chicken wings were perfectly crispy and juicy, and my egg and steak plate was cooked to perfection with the steak being flavorful and tender, cooked exactly to the right temperature. My wife’s salad was fresh and crunchy, with the greens tasting incredibly fresh. To top it all off, we indulged in the cheesecake with seasonal peaches for dessert, and it was absolutely delicious. We left completely satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend

Such a fabulous restaurant with a good ambiance inside or their covered patio. We came for thanksgiving dinner and we got amazing Turkey, delicious stuffing, creamed corn, corn bread, cranberry sauce and I opted to swap my mashed potatoes for French fries. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The food did take some time but it was worth it, finished everything with a decadent chocolate cake.. so yum!

This place has always been the best place for simple dishes with a lot of flavor. I have been going to Hof's for over 20 years and it's a family favorite. The staff is always friendly and very accommodating. Try the seasonal specials...to satisfy your sweet tooth.

This place has a lot of character and charm but the food is incredible. I had to stop by for an old-fashioned chocolate cream pie a cup of coffee. They have a traditional counter that you could sit at the place and you can tell that it fills up pretty regularly. Menu is huge and I recommend trying almost everything here. There's a wine and beer selection but the appetizers of you when I'm coming back for!

First time at Hof’s Hut. Got there around 7:45 AM and got in right before it got busy. The waitress was exceptional and our order was served quickly! Food was delicious and I liked that they leave the coffee carafe at the table. They have a ton of desserts. Don’t miss out on them.

Dined in for lunch on a Tuesday. The restaurant was fairly busy but we got a nice booth. They also had plenty of seating on the patio. Diner style vibe. I had the spinach and mushroom omelette. Large portion with fruit and toast. Very satisfying. My boyfriend ordered the cobb salad which was a good portion as well. Staff is friendly and service is fast. Great to bring the family.

Some of the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. The batter had so much flavor it was incredible. Not to mention the onion rings are legendary.

I love a good burger and this place didn’t disappoint!! Local decor and historic photos of the area. Server was amazing and made us feel right at home!! Kids menu was well worth it and my family felt like we definitely got our moneys worth. It was a whole experience!! Absolutely can’t say enough good things. We will be back! See you guys in September!

Try the strawberry cream puff ..not too sweet, the pastry is flaky, the filling is creamy and light, the fruit has just enough sweetness the right amount to satisfy your sweet tooth.

I have to say that last night Rene served me and all I can say is WOW... She gave me World Class upscale service. I ordered a Sierra Nevada beer .. a dinner salad... Order of French fries... And the chicken/ribs combo... She serves me the salad but the fries came out before I even started on my salad... Rene then said "I apologize ( not I'm sorry..👍🏻..Rene used the correct use of the phrase) I didn't realize the fries would come out this quick. I will slow down the service and give you a moment to enjoy." That was music to my ears... She had a smile all the time... Didn't hover over me asking a million times if everything was fine... And she just paid enough attention and she let me enjoy my food... Before I left- I had to stop her and let her know what an amazing job she did... Btw... Hof's Hut... Please do not change the dinner napkins and the drink napkins - those oze of class, unickness and a bygone style... Can't wait to visit again....

After having a great experience the first time I visited Hof’s Hut, I went earlier this month and the experience was not as great. I was invited back and I’ve since taken down my bad review. I think my bad experience last time was an anomaly because the food and Maria, our waitress, were both excellent, like I remembered the first time I went. Thank you Hof’s Hut, I’ll definitely be back!!

Food was wonderful and lots of it. Atmosphere can be described as vintage. Plenty of parking in the back. When we got there it was very crowded. Had to put our names in but we only had to wait 10 minutes which was awesome. The employees are very efficient and polite. I would recommend this place to anyone. I'd actually rather keep this place a secret, it's so good.

My rating is soley based on a pick up order... shout out to PONCE for his customer service. He took that extra step for me LITERALLY at closing time. I haven't experienced such genuine kindness from one of his age range in a long while. I left here, not only satisfied from getting what I needed, but pleasantly suprised on how well PONCE had carried himself and represented Hofs.

Good food, a little slow to get to you unless there's another entrance that I never knew about as I always enter from the parking lot side. Not always attentive on takeout orders as they missed that I asked for utensils to be added and there weren't any in the bag. I don't remember if they included butter and honey with the cornbread, but there wasn't any in my order either.

Not to impressed with the chicken fried steak. Tasted sour 😱. Just ate it because I paid for it. Vegetables 🥕 seemed dry and old. In my opinion Dennys chicken fried steak 🥩 way better. Just my opinion 👍

Standard atmosphere for a diner food is a solid OK and above average for a diner and portions are large and difficult to finish. I got the breakfast quesadilla. Waitress was very attentive, and made sure coffee was topped up and that sort of thing even though it was busy so when it gets busy service is not compromised in an unreasonable way.

Hoffs Hut has become a regular spot where I meet friends, when I don’t want to think too hard about menus or location. The food is good. The service is good, easy parking and a great bakery selection. The majority of clientele seem to be senior citizens, which is a category that I also fall into. not too exciting but dependable.

Stopped by for breakfast this morning this morning. I wanted to try their skillet breakfast. I tried this version from another restaurant and was excited to try their's. I was bummed when I saw how greasy it was. I was really hungry and just couldn't bring myself to finish it. The blueberry muffin was ((yummy)) and my hot chocolate came with an oreo cookie 😋 Rebeca was our server and she did a great job!!

Hof's has a nice range of typical diner menu items. They can seat groups in their enclosed patio area. It does get a little noisy when aircraft fly over.

Hofs hut was yummy! Out having a late night dinner with a friend. We started with fried zuccinni. This basket had huge wedges fried with thick ranch on the side. Trust me if you like zuccinni you will not be fighting for the last bite! It was alot! We both ordered melts for myself the Patti melt and for him the pastrami melt. I think everyone knows what a melt is. Grill the bread, add ingredients and smash that baby together with option chosen ( for me it was fries). Our melts were ok. But funny that Hofs Hut toasts the bread and grilles all the insides than adds. It wasn't what I expected. Fries were the size of little kiddie fries, and medium temp. It was good for what it was but be sure if you order a melt ask how they cook it. I think that will help make your decision. Our Server Gabriel was fantastic. From afar ( we sat out in the patio ) he saw i needed a refill of ice tea and brought me a new one as I was halfway down.

Great place to come and eat. Restaurant has been been a permanent fixture of the community. They have great food great service and tasty dessert. Can't go wrong stopping by for breakfast, lunch or dinner

The food at Hof's Hut in Long Beach is consistently excellent, and the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing. However, the service tends to be slower than expected and occasionally disorganized. It’s not uncommon to wait at the host stand while several staff members walk by without acknowledging you—though seating guests may not be their responsibility, a simple greeting would make the experience more welcoming. Meals take longer than anticipated, but the wait is worth it because the food is outstanding and reasonably priced. That said, service can be inconsistent. Yesterday, a server noticed at the last second that one of our drinking glasses was dirty and, rather than swapping it out, wiped the rim with her fingers. It was a moment that reminded me of Thanksgiving with my aunt, who, when asked to pass the rolls, simply handed one over with her bare hands. There were also some mix-ups with our order. Part of our meal arrived late—only for us to realize it had been delivered to the wrong table. When we pointed it out, the server retrieved the dish, and for a brief moment, I wasn’t sure if it would be replaced or just brought straight to us. The staff member reassured us we’d get a new plate from the kitchen, but it was back on our table so fast that I couldn't be entirely sure it wasn’t the same plate that had been sitting on someone else's table for 5 or 10 minutes. That said, I ate it, and it tasted great. Bottom line: The food is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and while the service is slower than expected and occasionally a bit unpolished, the staff is always friendly. If you don’t mind a leisurely pace and a laid-back, homey charm—where kindness sometimes outweighs professionalism—Hof's Hut in Long Beach will always satisfy you with excellent food.

The food was good, but my partner said his plate wasn't the greatest ( steak, mashed potatoes & veggies ). I had no complaints, My kid got chicken tenders & fries. I got the French dip with Au Jus sauce & fries....sooo good! I recommend this spot most definitely, I'll be back to try other plates.

We hadn't been here in a while because we moved. The food was good. The only issue was the service. It was kinda on the slow side. We keep having to ask for refills on the drinks, napkins and flag him down to order dessert and get the check. We would recommend it to our family and friends hopefully it was just bad luck with our server.

The food was good, but my partner said his plate wasn't the greatest ( steak, mashed potatoes & veggies ). I had no complaints, My kid got chicken tenders & fries. I got the French dip with Au Jus sauce & fries....sooo good! I recommend this spot most definitely, I'll be back to try other plates.

Hof's Hut serves many different types of dishes from pot pies to crab and shrimp sandwiches. Mostly comfort foods. The clientele seems to be a bit older. They sell pastries that look really good although I did not try one. #LocalGuides
