I was BLESSED to listen to Christian music while I ate. Free coffee. Senior discount $5.35. Not bad for ham and eggs. Sorry Dennys. I paid over $8 no meat and hash browns tasted burnt.
Creamy is not an adjective I’d use to describe a burger but I was shocked at the first bite. I forced my friends to take a bite and we sat there speechless as we chewed. Absolutely worth a visit.
These are the biggest burgers and seriously worth it for the amount of money. I highly recommend over any other burger place.
I love the food here, I just order my dad a breakfast plate for dinner. The serve breakfast all day. He wanted the giant breakfast with avacodo.
Fast and delicious food. Very generous sizing. The sausage breakfast burrito is huge! Banana for scale.
Been coming here for years now. Food & staff are great! The restaurant & bathroom are always clean when I come to dine in, to which is reason I enjoy this place every other sunday.
Came to grab some avocado bacon burgers for 4th of July , they were amazing heavenly delicious. Definitely recommend o
Oh my goodness...I just had THE best turkey burger!! It was beautifully prepared. It looked like the photos that you see in burger commercials. The pickle to burger ratio was ideal for a pickle lover like myself. 😊 Most people picked up orders or went through the drive-thru. But it was clean inside and jazz music was playing. Highly recommend 👌🏽
All time local favorite. I rated it 5 stars not for fancy food or high dollar frills. It's the people and the service that makes this place great. I can't explain the atmosphere it's something you need to experience.
Cool old bar, been around forever. Has a steady clientele, and for a rainy Friday, it was packed. We got the last available table in the back by the pool tables. Very few food choices but very tasty and awesomely priced. Egg salad with sausage/pickle on rye sandwich was delicious. Bar was packed and our order of 4 sandwiches took less than 5 minutes. Big ice cold beer schooners. A bit loud at times though. 4 stars for food only because there are only 4 choices. Additionally, smoked peanuts are a must for the table.
STAND OUT SPOT ♡ I would always see this spot growing up. I knew it was a bar when I was a tiny kid, always said I would like to come here. Fast forward many years later and there I am. I hope the new owners doesn't change a damn thing about this place. This place, to me, is a landmark in a city I grew up in.
Indeed and experience only to be had in Long Beach. This place is no nonsense. Over 100 years old and it’s clear they have some solid traditions. Pickled eggs and mustard Joe specials wrapped in rye bread, and a very delicious root beer. If you only have a few bucks, this is the place to go.
Classic LB location with cold beer on tap and some unique food. Special sandwich is a hot dog in rye bread with mustard and a pickle. Ask for it steamed and it comes hot with the cheese melted! They have pickled hard boiled eggs which are very unique. Service is ok. You order at the bar and the staff is a bit rough but it fits the place. They have pool and shuffle board in the back. They have a few TVs to watch the game on.
A nice place to meet new people while having a drink at the bar. Pleasant individuals who tell tall tails to one another while drinking beer, eating hot dogs, and drinking more beer. This is the kind of spot where I could easily spend every evening. 99 years old and a bit worn but where else can you play pool, darts, and piss in a stainless steel troff,
This place will be a 100 years old in 2024! The beers are always nice and cold someone tap and summon cans but a good selection! Don't forget to try their pickled eggs they're absolutely delicious. My favorite is Joe's special with egg salad. Bring cash they don't take cards and luckily they do have an ATM for those that forget or don't carry cash.
This is the coolest bar ever... bar none. 98 years old. All cash. Beer in schooners. Wine coolers and hard seltzer are the only non-beer options. About 8 items on the food menu including pickled eggs (they sell 500 per day and serve them with pretzels and mustard). The most expensive food item is Joe's special at $3.70. Sausage sandwich with pretzels. This place is a slice of great bar culture.. Check it out!
Born and raised in this neighborhood but never tried until today. Wish I had come earlier. It's a very warm, cozy atmosphere. You can feel immediately that every other patron has been there multiple times already. It seems the go-to order is "a special and an egg", which is a sandwich/sliced hot dog, and a pickled egg that comes with peperoncinos and pretzels. Not the most complex of cuisines but it sure has a comforting taste.
Joe Jost’s is a classic! If visiting Long Beach this is an absolute must. You’ll see many so cal and Long Beach locals sporting their shirts and hats. Just had a flight into the airport yesterday and this was the first place we stopped on our way home. The “Joes Special” is the perfect sandwich to hold you over but not fill you up so much so you can also enjoy a cold beverage or two. Also if you’re a fan of Eggs, their Pickled Eggs accompany it perfectly. Unfortunately the peanuts were out of service yesterday so I didn’t not get to picture that. But when dine-in is back open I suggest enjoying your meal next to the roaster and having a couple of ice cold Busch’s. Easily one of my favorite places on this planet.
It's great! Great beer, great weird eggs, great weird delicious sandwiches. Been going there for years and years.

The atmosphere inside is just soo old school, the smells, the sounds. Bought a new long sleeve.the "special" is the best& maybe an egg, too. A little like cheers with the workers.

Although I had lived in Long Beach in the late '70s, I don't recall having visited Joe Jost's. When I was in Southern California last late July/early August, my son suggested we go there for lunch. …
Great local bar with ice cold beer & root beer. The servers are always friendly and right on top of your needs.

I crave country fried steak with eggs from time to time and this is my go to spot ever since the spires on Lakewood Blvd closed down. It's not super expensive like other places where it can range from $15-20. This place is about $12.50 after tax. I recommend this place for the quality and affordability.
Can improve on the soda machine. Plz
Love it, great prices for food 🌭and decent basic beer selection. Get some pickled eggs and peppers with pretzels and a "Joe's special" . Happy days. I went here around 3pm and I'm 49yrs old and I was probably the youngest patron. Would return here as a regular if I lived nearby. Cheers 🍻 schooner life!
Went in on a Sunday afternoon (2pm) with a group of friends for beers and sandwiches. It was busy. They only take CASH! So come prepared. The beers are in HUGE glasses and the sandwiches are old school and AMAZING! Plain white bread with egg salad and onion. Fresh, crisp and so tasty! Pool tables in the back and cool vibe. If you’re a prude might not be the family scene you’re looking for as it has a 90s bro bar vibe with semi naked girlies posters etc. nothing too offensive but it’s there.
Food was ok. Loved the roasted peanuts. Good neighborhood bar. \nService was very good.

My bf raved about the food here. Idk why cause it's nasty. Maybe if you're drunk it's good. The root beer was good. And everyone there seemed like they were having fun, but don't go for the food.

Great cheap sandwich, quick beer, old style bar, lively front section. Pool tables in back. Not a lot of parking
Haven’t had this place in over 10+ years so I decided to give it a try again. I ordered a large chili cheese fries which came to about $12. I literally took three bites and couldn’t do it anymore. The cheese was terrible and chili taste worst than can food. If you’re in the Long Beach area and want chili cheese fries I recommend Tam’s at #2 and Poly Burger at #1.
Since my go-to place for turkey burgers closed, I've been on a mission to find a place that makes a great Turkey Burger, a place that just doesn't buy the frozen patties and then just cook them. Decided to try Omega Burger on Anaheim but went here by mistake as the sign is hidden. Should have just left, but they had a TB for $7.55 alone, but I ordered the combo with fries and a drink which came up $14.57. I should have noticed no line in the drive thru at 12pm?!? But i was hungry, so I went ahead and purchased TB with cheese as well. Big mistake! They Forgot the cheese on the Turkey Burger. then the fries had to have been cooked yesterday and then they recooked them again today. They were some of the worst fries I've ever had in my life, and I just ended up throwing them in the trash. and the drink as well. Went into the trash. so I basically paid $15 for a bland Turkey Burger without the cheese. The best thing I could say about the burger is it did have fresh lettuce and tomato and onions on it. Which made it decent, but the burger itself was very bland. Will have to continue my journey to find the ultimate turkey burger in Long Beach somewhere else.
First time stopping by to just get some chill cheese fries at 1:15PM today, never again. The staff was very quick to end my order within the drive thru area. Came to collect my form of payment late while making eye contact with me, I saw that there was no one behind me nor inside to take orders. once we collected my cash to pay she did asked me if I would like any sides I informed her Yes I would only like ketchup, she asked again to confirm if I wanted yellow peppers , I told her no. Tell me why I received my box open so the food just fell all over within the bag, I did not notice until after I left. And it was extra funny to only receive yellow peppers and not a single ketchup packet. Not only did the food was just badly prepared but it also smell awful I just didn't up throwing it away. What I great birthday lunch.
Came here to order jr cheese burger combo, I told the lady 4 times I wanted cheese on the burger, got my order, still no cheese horrible customer service, I let the manager know she said don’t worry about it, still brought my order with no cheese, and tried to charge me Extra, No courtesy no respect
The lady hung up on me when I called and asked a question about customizing an order. She told me she was too busy to help me and to do it on the app
I called prior to coming and asked if they accepted ebt. They stated only ebt cash. So I rode on a scooter from pretty far to get here. And be told their machine for ebt is not working. And they were not willing to do anything to help me.
Today as 2/17/24 About 1 hour ago I was at this business with my son we were waiting online one customer ahead of us. Another customer walks up to the other registered and the youngest girl that works here decided to help him first. I was next online but she decided to help him first . Not sure why she did that but very unprofessional never coming back to this place.
Ordered from Bam! Burger on DoorDash. It was 9:20pm, they close at 10, delivery said 25 minutes (not far from me). Order arrived at 9:55, by the time we opened our bag to see half our order was missing, they were no longer answering the phone. Went to this location and saw it’s actually called Famous Burger and no manager on duty and refused to refund me. DoorDash said I had to deal with the restaurant directly. Still have not been contacted by management. Very sketchy no? Buyers beware!
Their attitude is bad. They don’t say welcome, or good morning. Then they can’t hear you, and they keep saying the wrong order, so you correct them and they still can’t hear you, so you need to speak up and they get upset because you corrected them, and when you get to the window they don't say good morning, they have a bad attitude. They don’t say thank you or you're welcome and then they don’t say have a nice day. They just have an upset face and I'm paying, so no tip. I won't be going there anymore because of their nasty attitude, and I have been a regular customer for more than 10 years now. Her name is MARTHA.
You know when a place and it's employees want to go home so even tho they are open til ten they mean go home at ten? Not -close the place at ten and then start shutting down the kitchen like they should..well this is one of those places. Ungrateful. .they were completely annoyed that we had chosen to use the drive thru at 945pm. We ordered 40 bucks worth, 3 plates of food and we were polite and SAID SORRY ...WHY??? BECAUSE IT WAS THAT OBVIOUS THAT THEY DID NOT WANT TO SERVE US. I SHOULD HAVE SAID WE COULD HAVE SPENT OUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. but I didn't. And was i bummed. The deep fried plate wasn't. The onions zucchini mushrooms and fried did not get fried. It was bad. The california burrito was enormous but the very annoyed girl at the window gave us 1 teeny tiny spoonful (1/4 container) with pico de gallo and that didn't even satisfy 1 bite of the burrito. They gave 2 enormous ranch dippers for the unfried plate but we couldn't eat it, it was so undergone. Gross. Powdery grainy and pink it wasn't cooked wasn't hot and the last meal was taquitos. the whole plate in a box had been sitting there for hours not kidding.hours. It was boxed prolly by the staff after it got rejected or made but not picked up. It was old and it did not sit well. The cheese and rice and the taquitoes were Luke warm and so were the dipping sauces one sour cream which is awful at room temp and some green avocado liquid that was thin like water. The whole experience sucked. If I could I'd give it a negative 10 i would have. I go thru a drive thru maybe 3 times a year so being such a rare occasion I wanted it to be great. It wasn't. Please people. Money is tighter than ever for most of us. If we chose your place to spend our money be grateful have happiness in your heart and great big friendly smiles when we order from you. Do what you do ..if it's food make sure it's cooked yes every plate. If I chose you Be grateful do you understand? Unfortunately it's too late for you i will never return to your restaurant . I regret dropping 40 bucks there. That money didn't come easy for me and maybe it's a drop in the bucket for you but every dollar counts for me. The food was a total bomb not the bomb . It was horrible food rude horrible service and it ruined my date night with my bf. He got mad about the teaspoon of sauce for his giant burrito and there was no turning back from there. The rude girl closed her window turned out lights and the whole lot of you left the bldg while we were still sorting out our meals in the parking lot!!! I couldn't even ask for more if I wanted to. If you closed your kitchen at another time, that's the time you should list on your signs and the website. If it says ten then it should close at ten and the employees can shut the inside down at closing time. Whats the matter with you? There are 22 joints like yours in the immediate area. I selected yours. You should have recognized you got lucky this night 40 extra bucks in the tilly that you didn't expect to make when the drawer was counted an hour before it closed. we realized this when our order came to such a round number. and we didn't get a receipt. FOUL. Also we noticed not one single machine was on in your place. How did you cook all that food in under 6 minutes? You didn't. Shame on your window girl sad on your chefs. It just sucked in every possible way. If you are reading this to judge if you shoukd go eat there? Skip it. Pass on it don't go here. Give your hard earned money to someplace that is good at what they do and one that has good follow thru especially at the window. They made us feel bad for taking up their time and they punished us with food that sucked.
