Yi Sushi is the premier sushi restaurant in Rancho San Diego and is well worth a visit. The interior is always clean and bustling with many diners enjoying themselves, the food they serve comes from a wide variety of options, all delicious, and with the amazing Happy Hour value that I've come to grow very fond of... just be sure to keep an eye on much sake you drink!

When it comes to sushi in San Diego, Yi Sushi stands out with its exceptional and incredibly delicious offerings. Chef Gon crafted my baked dynamite and baked salmon rolls, and they were absolutely mind-blowing! If you’re ever in San Diego and craving delicious, affordable sushi, this is the spot to visit.

Oysters on the halfshell with fresh Wasabi was amazing. Best and spiciest Spicy Tuna Roll in the area. Must try the garlic tuna roll - very flavorful and yummy. Service was unexpectedly quick and very attentive.

The food tastes good, quick service, and pleasant staff. And it's our fave place to go in the neighborhood.

This is such a cute little sushi place! The staff are always so so nice and they have different specials every time we come in. Fairly inexpensive for sushi and everything tastes great! Perfect date night spot for us :)

Yi Sushi Review Today I stopped in at Yi Sushi for a quick bite and ended up staying for an experience! I was greeted by a young lady with such a kind spirit, which set the tone for the visit. They had plenty of specials and happy hour deals that immediately caught my attention. The Shrimp Consomé soup intrigued me right away, and there was also a Salmon Kama special that sounded amazing. I had originally planned to get my food to go, but since the salmon was dine‑in only, I decided to stay—and I’m so glad I did! I sat at the sushi bar, where the chef served each dish directly to me, fresh from his hands. Let me tell you, that Shrimp Consomé soup was chef’s kiss! The flavor, the texture, and the crunch of the patty with the green onions on top—it was absolutely perfect. I could have easily gone for a second bowl. Next came the Unagi, served as a pair. Fresh, rich, and so satisfying. Then came the star of the night: the Salmon Kama. I didn’t know what to expect, but it did not disappoint! The salmon was grilled to absolute perfection—tender on the inside with just the right amount of char. Honestly, all it was missing was a side of rice, which I’ll make sure to order next time. I was so full by this point that I had my Crunch Roll packed to go. But before I left, I couldn’t resist trying a piece of Yellowtail tuna. It was exquisite—soft, delicate, flavorful, and not fishy at all. That’s definitely on my list for my next visit! Special shoutout to my server, Anne, who was an absolute darling—kind, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I came for a quick sushi stop, but Yi Sushi turned it into a memorable meal. I’ll definitely be back!

The fish is kept at a temperature so that when you taste it, it practically melts in your mouth. Been to many restaurants that store their fish at very cold temperatures that you have chew it for a while. This place is a sleeper, you must try! Service was excellent and prompt with reasonable prices. Definitely recommend and I am going back for the ramen.

The food, the atmosphere and the customer service were absolutely amazing. We will definitely be coming back here. We ordered the (1) Godzilla roll, (2)San Diego roll, (2) sashimi, (1) Crunch roll, (1) guappo roll, cucumber salad and shrimp tempura. Total bill for the above was almost $100.00 which is not bad for sushi. Parking was not an issue. Plenty of parking in a good area. If you haven’t tried this location out, definitely recommend. It’s worthy of your business.

Good Japanese restaurant! The Japanese food here was well-made and delicious. They have a pretty extensive sushi menu. However, I ordered the pork tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet), and it was one of the best katsu's I've ever had. Other components of the meal -- the gyoza, salad with ginger dressing, and the appetizer of chicken karage -- were tasty as well. The sushi was delicious too. We had the Alaska roll, tempura vegetable roll, and cucumber roll. The service was nice and attentive. I recommend this establishment if you are in the mood for Japanese food, sushi and non sushi.

This is our new favorite Sushi spot. Delicious rolls, Stuff jalapeño poppers are a hit.

The service was excellent. The food was excellent Phoebe are Chef made our roles exactly the way we wanted them. We ordered food from the kitchen as well, and it was excellent too. The place was moderately busy, very clean, and like I said, the staff was very helpful and friendly. we will be here again for sure!

This is Richard and Michelle Gon,phoebee and Ryan are some of the most creative people making food!! We don’t look at the menu they make our food to their liking and it is ALWAYS on point. Always a treat to go to Yi sushi it will not disappoint.

I had chicken teriyaki bowl and wow it's the best one I had no lie and I had lots of them the sushi looks good too the 4 pieces I got where nice and fresh and I was caught by surprise with the skillet wow so good

Excellent service and great food! Had the rainbow roll and spicy pork bulgogi and both were delicious. The bulgogi wasn't that spicy like a 4 out of 10 scale. Definitely will come back again.

Honestly i have not been in this location since i always order for delivery. Team Members are so pleasant over the phone and very accommodating. I did not receive my order last Sat due to a mistake by a GH driver wherein he dropped off all my orders to a diff house. And had to share this to a team member (turns out her name is Lilly), and when i received my order, one of the containers had a note on it. It’s just a sweet gesture for somebody who just listened to my bad experience. Thank you, Lilly. We did enjoy our dinner!

The restaurant is open to the public again!! I've been going to this place for years and I was so excited to see that we could go sit down again. The new menu has so many options and it is so delicious. A must try is the sashimi plate, the fish was so fresh and it tasted devine, leaves you wanting more. They have added new dishes like yakisoba, ramen and tuna tartare which were also delicious. Tuna tartar is also a must. It was nice having different type of ramen flavors, I'm excited that I do not have to go far to get a good bowl. Of course they still have their classic rolls like California, spicy tuna, and Philadelphia rolls. Lastly the hot sake is a must try, has a nice flowery taste to it, perfect for a cold chilly night.

The service was amazing I really enjoyed the sushi roll and the customer service. Definitely recommend eating here.

We also had their salt and pepper wings which came out hot and fresh, they had a thin crisp breaded layer and were juicy. We also ordered their sushi flight B, which had four different types of sushi rolls. They were beautiful and delicious! We were happy to see they had several types of unique and fun desserts, we got the fish ice cream strawberry/ chocolate flavor. I also liked the music they were playing. Super excited about this place and can’t wait to go back and take family there. Thanks so much!

Strictly take out now, but happy hour is super good for the price. Customer service is fair. Was a nice setting too in the before times. Rarely ever loud and warm lighting encouraged jovial moods and compliments inexpensive sushi.

My husband and I were looking for a new place to try sushi so we decided to try Yi sushi. We entered the restaurant and we were asked to seat ourselves, which is common at sushi restaurants. The server brought us over a pitcher of water and some menus. He came back a few minutes later after we looked at the menus. They have a happy hour everyday, which is awesome. We took advantage of the special appetizer pricing and ordered tempura shrimp and gyoza. I ordered 2 peices of seared tuna nigiri and a rainbow roll. My husband ordered a godzilla roll and a salmon roll. The server brought out our appetizers and the tempura shrimp and gyoza were both delicious. My seared tuna nigiri came out, I thought I only 2 peices of nigiri but I think I accidentally ordered 2 orders because there was 4 pieces on the plate. The seared tuna nigiri was very tasty but the rice kept falling off the bottom. My husband really liked his godzilla roll and salmon roll. The restaurant was very quaint and not loud at all. We felt that for the amount of food you get, it was a little pricey. We would definitely go back again, I'd definitely look at the menu a little longer because they have such a huge menu.

Calamari was flavorless and the sushi rolls weren’t the best. Everything just tasted very lackluster. Service was amazing and it was nice inside though.

To be honest sometimes the server is really nice, but today we had the worst experience in this please, the server was so disrespectful and she trough the silverware and we made just a simple question about a drink and she had a horrible attitude. Hope this will never happen again

Ordered as delivery on UberEats, food was bland. Beef ramen totally underwhelming. Who puts zucchini and carrots in ramen? Their tuna tartaki, “thinly seared tuna with ponzu” had no seasoning, and was just tuna wrapped over asparagus, tuna was not fresh, tasted a bit off. Miso soup, was below average. Beef yakisoba was bland and needed two bags of soy. Only things we enjoyed was the garlic edamame and spring rolls. We were left very disappointed in our order.

This place shouldn’t exist. Mediocre rolls filled with Krab, ramen is worse than instant noodle, no flavor , noodle is not freshly made. Please do yourself a favor and go to legit ramen place. Last but not least the place looks and feels dirty, can’t imaging what goes back in the kitchen… water cup was smelly. Yet they charge $$$ like a real sushi/ramen place

The service isn't bad and neither is the staff. The food here wasn't great after I left and forced myself to finish my sushi. I went home and got sick. I threw up the next morning I hope the food gets better because the staff is nice.

If you get a good order , they made some reasons not to give it to you, they have their own drivers parked near the store , so the order is passed to their relative drivers.
