Opinions de Kyoto Ramen El Cerrito
Good food at good prices. I ordered a chicken rice bowl ($8.50) and bottle of tea ($3.50) and received my food after five minutes. The bowl contained chopped chicken thighs coated with teriyaki sauce, white rice, green peas, and diced carrots topped with green onion. It could've been better if there were similar-sized slices of chicken instead of ranging from small slivers to large chunks. However, everything was perfectly cooked and it was pretty good overall. There's a restroom at the back that's pretty clean. Almost all orders are to-go or delivery despite ample seating. The people in charge of the restaurant are a Chinese family who speak Mandarin. A small selection of Chinese food is available in addition to Japanese/Japanese-ish cuisine.
Always happy to find out that a place that looks like just another Ramen joint, is actually a first-class spot. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen, extra spicy, and was absolutely happy with what I got. I kinda wish they served it in bowls other than plastic, but the flavor and texture overcame that, that Chiashu, was done perfectly, and I like that I found a new spot that all my friends don't know about yet. Definitely recommend them. Also find it interesting that they had one other location, in Colorado of all places. Good stuff
We chose to order from Kyoto because it had a large selection to choose from! When we got there, we decided to get the Hawaiian plates. We got a Hawaiian BBQ chicken and Hawaiian BBQ Mix (kalbi beef, beef and chicken). We replaced rice with veggie. We were pleasantly surprised by how full our boxes were. And it was good! Everything was tender. It was everything we expected and more. We felt we got a really good deal! We enjoyed our lunch. The veggie substitution turned out to be steamed cabbage, and there was some broccoli too underneath the meat. We would order again and definitely recommend this place to others!
The food was really good, I got poke and my mom got ramen. She's more into ramen than I am but she really liked it. It was a large enough portion that we could take some home. My poke was great, there was a lot of flavor and the meat was cooked well. There were just a lot of flavors that ended up tasting great together. The staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend eating here.
This place is a hidden gem! 5/5 for food quality, freshness and flavor, great value. I've been here with family for about 10 times now and everything from the menu has been good. This is becoming our place to go for ramen on a regular basis 😀

Crab Rangoon is my favorite. Poke bowl is delicious. Fast, fresh and delicious. Good place to grab and go, when I want some seafood and too late to cook at home.
OMG, the food is soooo good and affordable! good for a solo meal too. Highly recommend! (I get seafood ramen)
I've tried this place twice now, once to dine in and another time as take out. The food is consistently delicious and the presentation is on point. I rarely see chicken ramen that has a chicken base broth, which I'm very excited about since I don't consume pork. I love this place and plan to add it to my rotation for takeout nights.
This place strives for customer satisfaction. The place is clean and no sticky tables, everything is in its place nice and neat. The food presentation is on point, and most important of all is the THE FOOD IS ON POINT. Delicious and you get what you ask for. I’ve been to other Kyoto Ramen chains and though this one is on the smaller side. They pack a punch 🤜🏽 in Quality.
Ramen and poke bowl are good. Hawaiian BBQ is also good. Whenever I have no idea what to eat I will always order from here. Usually wait for about ten minutes to get my order

My go-to joint for ramen and Hawaiian plate lunch. Their kalbi game is on point and their broths are super delicious.

Went here today after spending some time at the beach! Good service, good food! I got the vegetable ramen since it's the only one that doesn't have pork broth (I'm vegetarian. Although, I didn't ask what broth they use instead but I'd like to assume veggies? If anyone knows, let me know?). I also got the vegetable tempura since I've wanted to try tempura for the longest time! The ramen was definitely my favorite of the two! The broth was rich and the veggies and noodles were very fresh. I also LOVE how soft the tofu was, so good! The green onions had a really nice bite too. I didn't get my ramen spicy because I'm not a huge spice person. The tempura was also good! I probably wouldn't get it again, not because it didn't taste good or anything, the veggies were very tasty and fresh, I just don't think it's really my thing. They were also really sweet and brought over some watermelon (which was also super good!). Good amount of food for the price as well.
I have been waiting for this place to open since I saw the sign go up back in 2019. I was going to wait until the the whole Covid lock down was over, so I could try it dine-in. But caved because I was here to buy groceries form Lucky. I order the standard tonkotsu ramen mild, and surprisingly it was really good even after the 20 mins it took me to get home. It's not the best ramen I have ever had (was like $25 ramen), but pretty good for the price point their selling at. It's easily better then the ramen you would get from other Japanese restaurants around the East Bay, even some from other "ramen" shops here in the East Bay. Again for the price point of ~$15 ramen this place is pretty good and the serving size is just right for me. When compared to other ramen specialty shops like Shiba Ramen (overall good, little pricier then here) or Yuzu Ramen (good bone broth but serving size too small for their prices) in Emeryville, I would personally prefer this place for overall flavor, price and serving size.
Very friendly service, outdoor tables/tent set up to allow dining, and pretty large menu. I tried the tonkatsu ramen (spicy) and it was decent. I wouldn't say it's the best ramen, but the pork was very tender and tasty, the noodles had good texture, and it had a good amount of toppings. Willing to try it again.

I was so excited to try this place after looking at their incredible reviews both on Google and DoorDash, I got the tonkotsu ramen with extra spicy broth with no other modifications. The broth was flavorful but had medium to low spice in my opinion, I was expecting it to have an actual kick since I picked the highest spice level but it was average at best. The noodles were bland and clumped up, I ended up leaving most of them at the end. The usual problem at places is too much broth and very little noodles but here was the opposite. Too many noodles. It came packaged well and nothing spilled. They sent a soup spoon which was a nice touch. Maybe I ordered in on an off day in their kitchen, I’ve had much better ramen in the area

Kyoto Ramen is a good spot for a quick lunch. The food is decent—not the best ramen ever, but it’s satisfying. Service is fast, so it’s great if you’re in a hurry. Nothing fancy, but it does the job!
Most of the food is quite delicious and at one time ample portions but the rice bowls portion, which has become a staple, has decreased by about 50%. It was so nice to grab a no fuss meal for around $10. The bowls are still good but I miss the larger standard portions.

If you are looking for a quick meal with good portion, this could be the place. But if you want decent and authentic Japanese food, don’t come here. The Black Garlic Ramen was very disappointing, not much garlic flavor. The Karaage Chicken is okay, but it taste more like popcorn chicken, and not the good ones. I usually finished my food, but I didn’t eat all my poke.
We have only tried the ramen here (Tonkotsu and Black Garlic) and they were both lacking in flavor. The Chashu was tough to bite into. Maybe their other stuff is good, but I'm not ordering the ramen here again. EDIT- To respond to the comment of the owner to my original review. How did you know the "results" of my eating? Did you look into the trash and checked if I consumed the entire contents of my bowl? And if you did, you would have seen that I did NOT finish my ramen.
I was so hungry and was expected Good soup but noodle itself was ok but the soup and slice of eggs in it was not fresh at all. Sorry to say, I don’t like it. But noodle portion was good.
