This place is AWESOME!!! Friendly staff, delicious food, great service, reasonably priced and a pleasant atmosphere! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I've dined here for lunch several times and it is always a treat! Yammy Sushi is a MUST!!!!

Moved away from the area 10+ years ago and have been missing this place. There's been some small changes with decorations, but the food is still very good and still run by the same family. My favorite roll? Lion king. :)

Yammy’s has reinvented itself as delicious, sparking clean, and welcoming place for quick and well-presented sushi. The service was attentive and friendly. If you ever went to the old Yammy’s, you’ll definitely want to try it again.

Great place for a healthy sushi lunch! The lunch special is a great deal with included soup, salad, and rice. Comfortable and cozy restaurant without much noise, and with very friendly service. Will be back! 🙂

We were looking for something fast to eat on El Cerrito plaza and not deep fried. So we decided to try sushi here. And we were really surprised by quality and prices! All sushi are freshly made and very tasty! So we came back for lunch already several times.

This is a perfect little sushi spot. The last time I was in El cerrito I went to a very expensive place and couldn't believe it. The quality of sushi was just basic. It was so expensive too. With Yammy Sushi you get exactly what you expect. Good service, good food. Clean environment. Mostly fair prices. But unlike that expensive place I went to before all of these roles were good. Every single one. And that super duper crunchy roll is pretty insane!! Definitely worth the cost!

Still one of the best value sushi spots in the Bay Area, serving Super fresh local Sushi and Sashimi with a wide selection of rolls, and main courses. Economic, and delicious "Yammy" should be renamed "Yummy" (Probably what they were aiming for to begin with) I ordered the Sushi dinner, and a roll, with came with Miso soup and a crisp and fresh salad. Thumbs up for this little corner shop in El Cerrito Plaza

The sushi is so fresh and delicious! Packed full of fish. Service was fast and polite but could have been friendlier. Excellent food though

Rewrite update: While its still good, and reasonably priced, the portions seem to be smaller, and the presentation is not as much of a concern it seems. Went from 5 stars to 4. Maybe needs some attention toward getting organized... I had a charge from november 2020 that wasn't run until the beginning of February 2021.

Delightful “find”. Inviting corner location in El Cerrito Plaza doors away from Trader Joe’s. Bright, sunny - energetic co-owner. Very fresh sashimi (lunch) I’ll be back. Didn’t know that they had been there for years.

Food tasty and reasonably priced. Staff friendly. Broccoli tempura not quite cooked all the way through. Would go again.

Please update your hours on Google. Food was good, ordered two rolls and gyoza. Tempura and Dragon roll. Service was nice but I do not feel they were ready for us when we walked in.

Good service, but those that say these sushi are good have a serious taste issues. Tried 3 types and all of them were awful.

Sushi was good. I tried the Island roll. The seafood udon was not very seafood filled - there were like 4 tiny pieces in it! Not happy with that.

Pretty good but not my favorite. The rolls were well priced and ok.

Decent, but not somewhere i would return. Miso soup was a bit off, just 4 little bits of tofu inside, no seaweed, sushi roll didn’t have much salmon and rice was too thick/dry, chicken katsu was super thin and perhaps fried 3 times and had an odd flavor. The place was fairly busy so perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing.

Bad service, I spent 20+ for a pretty basic dish. Tried to buy a beer after the fact, they refused to sell it to me because I didn't have cash and their minimum is $10. Disappointed, will not come back.

It's simple. And very non flavorful. Beer served in a non chilled glass. And sushi rolls bland. Ramen from a package. 1.00 pack in the store and 10.95 at the restaurant. Not a go back to place for us.

This restaurant was kind of dirty. You could tell it was worn. With that said I ordered 2 rolls and a salad. I enjoy the size of the roll. Sometimes they are way to big. I felt like the crab was warm..like it hadn't been refrigerated for a few hours. Very warm. The service wasn't very good either. Walked in to eat there and was served after the lady that walked in after me for a non ready made to go order. With all the sushi within a mile of this restaurant..I'd pick another one. Nothing special. Price were fair.

Ordered to go, was given the wrong order and had to get flagged down by staff to correct it. That would be fine if it were the only mistake but it wasnt. The food was bad. The chicken teriyaki was dry and bland. The california rolls were tasteless. And the Lion King roll was topped with SPOILED SALMON.

Their food isn’t bad but their service is horrible. I usually order to go and when I do I don’t tip a lot, they started to become really rude to me, although I tip generously when I dine in. I thought tipping was for extra services and their help when dining in? Never going back.

If your looking for good fresh fish this isn't the place. I'm totally fine with eating mediocre sushi but this was unacceptable. the sashimi was grainy and dry....had to send the food back. Ordered the chicken teriyaki ( impossible to mess up) and it was RE-heated in the microwave, usually when you order chicken teriyaki it has grill marks....this however was chewy and unpleasant . Maybe it was because it was a lunch special but that doesn't mean prepare in microwave....never going back sryyyy :/

They need to update their hours of operation, wasted my time driving there and finding parking in that crowded under construction parking lot, only to get to the door at 3:14p and see that they were closed from 3p-4p Mon-Thurs. I searched online to specifically find a sushi restaurant that doesn't close in the middle of the day so I was highly upset that their website says they are open when they weren't.

I drove across town to have lunch at this place only to be greeted at the door by a woman saying "we are all going to take a break now." The place was half full...they were not the least bit apologetic. They would not seat me. Very bad business practice.
