This was a nice place to visit and eat at. I had a combination plate of three items (Chille relleno, Taco, and Enchillada)and the price wasn't bad at all. I liked the decor inside...very colorful and authentic looking!

I've been a faithful regular fir over thirty years back since there was one by Lee Trevino and Trawood. Historical Iconic mexican food destination for travelers and locals. And don't forget the famous fresh hot cinnamon and suger Sopaipillas. It's a must.

First time in El Paso on my way to Phoenix. Stopped at Leo’s to grab dinner and food was perfect. Barbara was delightful and I highly recommend trying this place! I had the chicken enchiladas with Verde sauce, and the patron margarita is always a winner.

Leo’s rates among the best Mexican restaurants in El Paso for quality of food and service! I had Leo’s famous enchiladas with rice and beans, and left nothing behind. Absolutely amazing! And the servers kept our drinks and chips full the entire time. Worth the short wait, if there is one.

Super nice people here! We stopped here on a cross-country drive, so we had our dog with us. Even though dogs aren't officially allowed, they put us out on the patio and brought out an umbrella for us to sit out there. They also brought out some water for the pup! Food is good, service is even better!

Waiters’ ability to place a dish onto a table in a quick time usually doesn’t catch my attention, but the talented workers here kept a productive speed from the second I walked in. Not only that, but with a gleeful smile and attitude. Upon being seated, golden and cut tortilla chips are placed before you that are perfectly oiled. The carnitas held a crispy brown layer on the outside and the first bite presents a satisfying crunch, which soon leads you into the comforting meat. The green sour cream enchiladas bring a nice kick to your tongue before a flood of cheesy goodness. Finally, the sopaipillas are served with a nice option of cinnamon, sugar, or honey, finishing off the meal with a sweet prize. In the vast amount of restaurants of Mexican cuisine here, this one is on top.

The food was so delicious! The salsa is by far the best I have had at any mexican restaurant. Wow still amazed. I had the chicken fajitas an they were on point. Juicy, great flavor and a decent portion. I ordered the flan thinking I would snack on it later but finished it before I left. I ate here two days in a row which I rarely do because the food was so good. Try the sopapias when you stop by they are a sweet treat for sure. The pricing was less than I expected for the quality. I would come with my family if I lived in town. The atmosphere could be accommodating for families and also just to hang with friends. I highly recommend this place.

As always, another excellent experience at Leo's. Top notch food, great prices and waitresses who fall all over themselves to make sure you don't need anything. Plus, everyone is fluently bilingual and can have two conversations in two different languages at the same time.

My Dad and I were going through El Paso to Az to meet family. I really pushed to get to this amazing restaurant before it closed at 8 pm. We made it from San Angelo, Texas with moments to spare. I used to work as a waitress a very long time ago and remember quite well when customers walked in the door with less than 15 minutes until close time. However when we walked through the doors last night they made us most welcome. We were served by an amazing sever Peter who made the dining experience so enjoyable and relaxing. It lifted my spirits and gave me the energy and uplifted boost to drive the rest of the way to Az which we reached our destination about an hour ago. The food was made so promptly and tasted delicious. I have been to a lot of Mexican food restaurants in Texas, but imo Leo’s has the best Mexican food. I remember my first trip to Az with my parents to see a grandparent. It is fitting that the last of the Az trips to attend one of my grandparent’s funeral that we ate at Leo’s. This is and was a great way to close a chapter in my life. The food is amazing, the service top notch. If you love Mexican food and are in the El Paso area the drive is worth it. It’s really close to I-10 and close to Sam’s which is a great place to gas up and an extra bonus right across the street from Krispy Kreme Donuts.

I was surprised by the taste of the food. Very tasty, good variety. Most of the dishes are spicy but not hot, so don't be scared to try the enchiladas or mole if you don't eat spicy food very often. Good service overall. Place looks cozy and clean. Servers speak English and Spanish. I was here for breakfast in a Sunday and there was a wait but worth it. Delicioso!

Leo’s Mexican food was really good. We’ve been here a few times in the past and it checks the box on food, atmosphere, service and cleanliness. We ordered the beef enchiladas with red sauce and the chicken enchiladas with green sauce. Both are really good. The kids had quesadillas and they enjoyed them. The Horchata was just OK. It actually disappointed, but the lemonade was really good and seemed to be made from scratch. The service is good and our waiter was friendly and helpful. The layout of the restaurant is divided in different sections, including a bar area. Overall, it was colorful and lively and a nice place to eat Mexican food. 4.5 star rounded up.

We were in town visiting family and came in here 10/08/24. We have been eating at this Leo's since they use to be down the road at their old N Mesa/Crossroads location. Everything was spot on. Food, svc & atmosphere. I had the Enchilada plate $12.99 that includes, (Tostada chips w/ salsa, 4-Red Cheese enchiladas, rice, beans & sopapilla). I washed it down w/ a Frozen Margarita. Delicious! We had a wonderful meal. We have never had a bad experience since eating here. Thank you Leo's.

Leo’s was such a great place 🌟 for authentic Mexican food 🌮 🌯 😋! And it was so conveniently located within walking distance of my hotel 🏨😃! I came here on a weeknight, was seated and was tended to and served right away 🙂! The staff there greets and welcomes you there right when you walk in 🙂! The restaurant was beautifully decorated 😍 for the holidays 🎅🤶✨🌟🎄🦌❄️⛄️! I was given fresh chips and salsa right away to munch on 😋 while I waited for my main entree! The Horchata and Leo’s taco salad 🌮 🥗 with chicken 🍗 were so fresh and delicious 😋! I was truly filled up and content ☺️! I will definitely come back to Leo’s the next time I visit the west side in El Paso 🌄🌵😃!

Food is really consistently good here. Is no wonder why it's always busy. Lacking smiles up front when asked how many in our party and was seated. Hostess lady did not want to be there, and it showed. Sat us in a booth by the kitchen and was a bit worried. Almost asked to be sat somehwere else. It turned out to be ok. Nice little decorations and pictures of our local areas from the past and present. Very colorful and vibrant atmosphere. We were promptly greeted by a lovely Spanish speaking waitress. Dressed in what reminded me partly as a Folklorico type waitress dress ( that's what I'm going to call it). Very pretty. Salsa is spicy, really good. Chips are thin and crispy and seemed unsalted (or salted very lightly)... they were good too. Got the Baked Chicken Enchiladas, number 6. I got RED and my buddy got GREEN. Was really good, and BAKED indeed. Plate was very HOT and was warned by the waitress when serving. Really, really good, large portion. Waitress was attentive to our basic needs and others were pre bussing as they passed our table to the kitchen. When they saw trash from our straws and the lemon wedges that were not used at the end of the table, it was taken by a passer byer. I noticed and thought that was cool, thinking this is how it should be done. I could barely finish my plate and still got a sopapilla with honey at the end. It was a nice touch to finish a great dining experience. I'm SO FULL, 😆 I'll be back and will spread the word. Muchas gracias.

We had mole, and gorditas plate. Mole is on the c sweeter side, rice was delicious. Gorditas beef, was bland. Salsa was mild and lacked flavor.

This place was pretty good I liked it and I’ve been there a couple times already. They have a good variety of food and it is good but it doesn’t taste like 100% homemade buts it is tasty tho. The personnel was pretty respectful and courteous I liked it

It's hard to go wrong with Leo's. The food always comes quick, the staff are always friendly, and the quality is always very good. Weekday evenings at the bar can yeilds service a little slower as the bar keep is usually doing multiple tasks, but nothing unreasonable.

Ordered the fajita (chicken) burrito and was kinda disappointed that it was just the chicken in the tortilla, but the chicken was super tender and had a good flavor. Service was pretty good and got seats immediately for a table of three. Great experience

Very good Mexican food. Not outstanding. They serve complimentary chips and salsa for a starter and sopapillas at the end, which is a nice touch. Service was good, but if you go after 5:30, expect to wait for a table. You’ll definitely want to go early. We will go back and try more from their large menu.

Very mellow and calm atmosphere. Lighting and the fact that there's no TV's leads to being able to talk with a lot of issues. Food was decent. I felt that my chicken was a little dry and could have used a bit more seasoning and less lettuce, but overall it was a mellow dish. First time that I had a sopapilla, good with honey. I would come back, atmosphere here alone is worth coming back. Came back and come for the carnitas. They are a must have.

We didn’t have to wait too long for a seat. Once the waiter sat us, we were asked for our drink order. The waiter constantly asked to up-sale us for a specialty drink: we politely refused. I order 3 carnitas tacos; very flavorful. Wife ordered green enchiladas; she loved them. We ordered sopapillas; they came with honey and were very good. I’d recommend Leo’s.

I’m not gonna lie this place started off with low expectations, I went with my wife my two kids and my mom and dad and they took forever to accommodate us. To me that seems odd since this seems like a family type of atmosphere, as such you should expect family sized groups, but the restaurant seems rather small/cramped for the amount of customers it is getting, it’s not like there’s lots of free seats but it was mostly packed with gente from all ages and sizes , after what felt like an hour and the host seemed to have completely forgot about us we finally got a seat. So we finally sat down and ordered The pros: the tacos were bomb I ordered the steak tacos with rice and beans, not only was it cheap but it was delicious the chips and salsa is free when you first arrive the price is a steal for what you get on the menu The cons: they charge you for refills on anything outside of soft drinks, that means lemonades and aguas frescas The menu is a lot of the usual traditional dishes and nothing out of the ordinary(but what they do have is delicious) The fajitas were meh, for some reason they didn’t have peppers in the fajitas just meat and onions which I thought was odd Conclusion: the food was great, the wait wasn’t, the price was very fair, this place may need to expand or remodel for the amount of customers it’s getting !

Cool little restaurant. I ordered the chicken fajitas and they were super good 💥 the boyfriend ordered the chicken tacos and didn’t really enjoy them (the tortillas are fried/hard). Portion size is good for the price and they have a friendly staff. Mondays they are CLOSED. I brought my pup on their patio and it was private and nice.

My family has been eating at Leo ‘s for decades. Consistent quality plus complimentary sopes with honey for desert. Fun!

We moved away 20 years ago and I used to work at the Leo’s on North Loop. We came back to visit family and wanted to go down memory lane. My husband and I had our “usuals” and were as good as I remembered. We were a group of eleven and everyone enjoyed the food. The issue I had was that they kept trying to pick up the tostadas and salsa when I was still eating. At the end the server, Analis, berated me because I asked for my sister’s check so I could pay for her. She kept telling us that we asked for separate checks. I paid cash so it wasn’t like she would have had to run a card twice. The food was great!

Good atmosphere. Salsa is a bit watery but good flavor and has some heat to it. Waiter was nice. Food took forever to get. Fajitas and flautas were good. Fries conqueso were inedible. Fries in cheese soup is what they should call it.

The green and red sauces need to be NOT MILD. Please increase the heat in these two chiles.

It’s possible that coming from Houston I have a very different idea of what a burrito is... but this is what I received and was charged over $5 for. No sides or toppings included. Good thing I asked for salsa when picking up the order or else my friend would have been forced to enjoy this as is. I called to verify I received the correct item, which was confirmed. They were nice enough to offer me another of the same “burrito” but I didn’t feel the 10 minute walk in the heat was worth it.

The food is wonderful but, I've noticed some things just hanging out as we eat. The busser puts the tostada basket from the table back into rotation instead of back to get it washed. The servers eat from the salsa bin in beverage area. This had happened multiple times. I mean literally dipping chips into the salsa container. Servers shouldn't be chewing as they walk out on the floor to customers. I've also seen the servers just dip the basket into the chip container to get chips. Not using a scoop. Seeing the baskets being recycled is very concerning. The older gentleman Juan does not do any of these weird behaviors. you might want to do quality check on your server's behaviors. It's very ick.

We ordered the Caldo de Pollo. The chicken was so tough that I couldn't cut it with a knife. When I asked for another one, I was told that they're all the same. I said maybe chicken breast from another chicken would be better. The waiter said they're all tough. Nice. I had to specifically ask him to take it back. He wanted me to return the 2 pieces of carrot on my plate also.

The food and atmosphere were enjoyable; however, the overall quality of service was extremely poor. The staff exhibited consistently unprofessional attitudes and appeared disengaged and unhappy. When I attempted to place a takeout order by phone, I was placed on hold for approximately ten minutes, after which I disconnected and called again. During the second call, the employee I spoke with was notably rude. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I waited nearly thirty minutes for a simple order consisting of quesadillas and chili con queso. Having experience in the restaurant industry, I found this level of service unacceptable. I rarely submit complaints or negative reviews, but this experience was particularly frustrating and disappointing.

This restaurant gets a lot of service from guests staying in two hotels across the street. I've had better Mexican food in many parts of California.

Visited on November 5, 2025 and the food was an absolute disappointment. We have been regular costumers since the first Leo’s was opened. Over the years, we could always count with the food tasting deliciously all the time. Today The enchiladas lacked taste as well as the rice. A real shock to us. We asked the waiter if the cooks were fired or if the restaurant changed ownership. If this is a permanent change, the restaurant will loose its clientele. We hope today was an exception. WE HAVE ALWAYS CONSIDERED EATING AT LEOS A REAL TREAT.

Terrible experience!!! We were originally going to eat at Cracker Barrel but figure this is El Paso so decided to try Mexican food and Leo's was near with great reviews. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. The waitress was great and the house and Strawberry Margaritas were amazing, but the food was beyond unacceptable. First, my wife's order was messed up, then I had to wait for them to fix it (while my food was getting cold). Waited a total of an hour from sitting down to getting the food. When the food came out it was as they had microwaved it for way too long. The edges of the refried beans were visibly burnt and the rice was terrible. Also, I had the carnitas Tacos and the meat was terrible; it was like they scraped the bottom of the pan and gave me all of the burnt pieces. We did not get past 10% of our food when we looked at each other and said "this is terrible." My wife and I did not want to be "Karens" and whispered to the waitress that the issue with our food was beyond ignoring it and that we needed it resolved. The waitress left and return offering us 20% off our bill yet the manager didn't even show up to see what the issue was. If faced with the decision to eat at this place again, we choose Taco Bell.

Brown avocado? Horrible customer service?! No thanks, I’d rather go to Juarez to get better Mexican food. I’m also a server so I know what to expect and what to tolerate. Tried talking to management, but that was even worse !

This is by far the most terrible food i’ve eaten, beans tasted old, food tasted like it was reheated and the bartender Isaac just all around giving attitude, on the way out I also heard him complaint about us, saying we were being annoying with requests to remake food. Hopefully it gets better, because it used to be so much better.

I honestly love the chili rellenos but my husband got the beef burrito and it was horrible. It was dry and it was JUST beef. No onions, tomatoes, and no other sides but iceberg lettuce. The tortilla was similar to the ones from Walmart. It was very disappointing. The atmosphere was decorated nicely but where we were seated smelled like a sewer.

Never knew they let personal pets in it just turned my stomach. Service dogs are very obedient and dont pose a health threat but a regular dog does. Very disappointed 😞

If I could give zero stars I would!! My husband has a service dog and we were refused entry. They demanded a “card” for the service dog which DOES NOT EXIST!! Rule 17 of the ADA states that there is no verification or “card” for service dogs. We have been owners and trainers of these dogs for over 20 years. We know the ADA rules. This was ABSOLUTE discrimination. Ridiculous. The ADA will be notified.

Family of four waited about an hour 15 for 3 plates of enchiladas and 3 tacos. The waitress was kind of rude and the food was not really worth the wait. Make the trip to L and J cafe if you want Mexican food. All in all the wait was not worth the portion or flavor. People came in 30 minutes later than us, ate and left before we got all 4 plates on the table.

We had high hopes after reading the reviews, but our experience fell short. Although we were seated right away, the wait for our food was quite long. The salsa was watery, and the chicken in the Gorditas lacked flavor. I asked for green sauce to enhance the taste, but it tasted bland. Also, the rice was overcooked. Overall, the food quality was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
