I’ve been wanting to try Roberto’s since my neighborhood groups have been raving about it. Today I ordered a torta—the one with the beef and added some extras, a carne asada quesadilla for my son, and the bean, cheese, and rice burrito. First of all, I was blown away by the portions—holy cow! The torta is enough for 4 to share, and the burrito is delicious. Their prices are great, and my ordered was ready when I pulled up!
So glad Robertos is here in Texas!! All my cali knows whats up with Robertos. They are 30 mins away from my home but i drive for lyft and make a trip out of it when im in the area. Today was my 3rd visit and I love their Cali burrito, although today, they forgot my guacamole but they made it up by offering a full refund, which I didnt accept because I do love their food. I just rather they hook me up with guacamole next time, maybe a drink too? Great customer service. Thanks guys, ill be back for sure!
Absolutely love this place we are From Las Vegas and we moved here a few years ago— The food is exactly the same as it is in Las Vegas. The service is amazing. This is not Tex-Mex food. This is authentic Mexican food that is over the top one of the best.— Drove 35 minutes from North Texas just to eat here and it was worth every single mile — Thank you, Roberto‘s please come up north
San Diego native here, and SUPER EXCITED about Roberto’s opening so close!!! Got to meet the owner, Jose Roberto, who owns the location back near my hometown. He took great care of us and went above and beyond. Service was fast and great. The food was incredible. Adobada burrito, surf and turf burrito, California burrito, carne asada nachos, quesadilla, fish taco… ALL amazing. Gave us a bag of hot carrots and salsas - flavorful, good heat! Everything was seasoned to perfection. Sooo nice to have a little piece of home!
Ryan was awesome! As a native Texan, he could tell I was "confused" at the Southern CA Mexican Food vs. Tex-Mex and helped me pick out the best option for Chicken Tacos. I've literally been back twice this week because the food was good and a lot for the price!
A little slice of San Diego right here in Texas! I'm thrilled that we finally have authentic Baja Mexican food in the area. Definitely recommend the carne asada fries- ask for them extra crispy for the best experience! The surf and turf California burrito is also a must-try. Just a heads-up, this spot has limited seating, so it’s perfect for smaller groups or takeout and drive-thru orders.
If you are a native San Diegan, you already know what this is all about! I was so stoked when I saw that they were building a Robertos in HEB, and now I'm a frequent customer lol If you're not sure what to order, some of my favorite things are the 5 count of rolled tacos (I prefer beef over chicken), the SUPREME rolled tacos, a carne asada quesadilla with a side of guac, or a California burrito with added guac. I also recommend ordering ahead on the app first :)
Still one of the best taco shops around! Their food is simple, yet the quality is very high and always consistent! So if a reviewer says otherwise, I question their validity. Yes, I know that Roberto's started in Southern California and some Texans still have issues with California, but you have to get past all that nonsense and try this wonderful food! Hurry up before someone else eats it!!
We were familiar with there food from this southern California chain place. We did a taste test comparison with Vacarios of nrh for a shredded beef, bean and cheese burrito And a carne asada burrito with the guacamole on the side. It was not a big difference, but all four of agreed the Robertoes was a little better. Prices were about same. Vacaros does have a way better seating area. Robertoes only seats like twelve people in a tiny seating area.
The bean and cheese burrito was 🔥. The carne asada chips were massive and super tasty, and the fish tacos were an absolute steal at $2.49 each. Everything was fresh and delicious. On top of that, the service was extra friendly. Highly recommend!
After leaving San Diego & suffering through 4 yrs of terrible “Tex-Mex” food options finally San Diego “Baja style” food is brought to us. This is NOT a restaurant to eat at. This is the place for anyone who loves San Diego Mexican food to order and take home. Outside of “The Taco Stand” in Dallas this is the best Mexican food for anyone who previously ate Mexican food in San Diego. If you want to know the differences hear are some of the differentiating factors Real Cheese and not liquid cheese Real steak in the carne asada Taquitos with guacamole Fish tacos that have fish and taste good Shrimp tacos that have grilled shrimp Enchiladas that actually have a big chili in them and real cheese. We have been so frustrated for several years eating at terrible “Tex Mex” restaurants that Texans don’t realize how bad they are. Now we have a”go to” place for San Diego style Mexican food. Pick it up or order delivery. Enjoy your dinner. One guy ordering next to us order med 12 taquitos. He said, “I’ve been in Texas for years and came to conclude these no longer existed. Now I found the restaurant I went to 20 yrs ago in San Diego and this is all I ask for.”
I grew up in SD. The cook manages the location in the small city I went to high school at, and the order taker manages the location in Encinitas. They are here making sure this places gets off the ground right! Incredible, it’s just like I’m back in San Diego! Good luck trying to finish one of these burritos 😆
Cute little spot right off 121 and Harwood!Staff was very kind and professional, they informed us that this is their first TX store as they are based out in San Diego and Las Vegas (we got lucky)! We tried their Carne Asada and Bacon breakfast burritos with the red and green salsas, they were delicious!! The salsa is the perfect kick for every bite. If you like Horchata they got what you need! Will be back!
Having moved from San Diego, I've missed Roberto's. Nothing better than some fresh rolled tacos. As noted, they were delayed opening. But drove by today and they were open. Yay!!!! Had rolled tacos, taco combo plate, carne asada burrito and a chicken quesadilla. Everything was amazing. Guacamole is fresh and plentiful. Tortilla is paper thin. Lots of chicken in the quesadilla. Green salsa was on target. Service was quick and super friendly. First day is always a little scary and I was worried it wouldn't be a real Roberto's. But it was great!!! Definitely will be back here often.
If you’re looking for that hit the spot Mexican food, the real stuff, not the Tex Mex crap then this should be your go-to. I normally don’t like corn tortillas cuz they fall apart and have no real taste, here… delicious. carnitas are cooked to perfection, all the tacos taste like the picture promises, no disappointments. You can taste every ingredient, they dance in perfect harmony, nothing is fighting to be the strongest. Cone hungry, leave with a full stomach and more food for later.
When we first spotted Roberto’s, we weren’t sure if it was connected to the classic San Diego staple—but it is, and it’s just as good! The food is incredible, the staff is welcoming, and it truly feels like a little piece of California in Texas. We ordered the carne asada fries, quesadilla, and rolled beef tacos—everything was delicious!
If you are looking for authentic SoCal Mexican food, Roberto’s Taco Shop will not disappoint!! We love it so much that we drive almost an hour to get there. My favorites are the rolled tacos with guacamole, chile relleno burro, and quesadillas. Their tortillas, chips, and salsa are also delicious! We normally buy enough to have leftovers the next day. Highly recommend!!!
Radical. I’ll be making the drive to eat here again. Great staff too! RYAN ROCKS!!! he was great. The first time I came here, and just now he recognized and remembered me after providing wonderful customer service for a second time! Keep this guy around as well as the little lady he was working with!
Well I'm not from California like so many other reviewers. However, I'll say that the burritos did not disappoint! They are packed and more than enough to fill you up. I wanted something heavy, with fries and that California burrito hits the spot. I've been back a few times already when I may or may not have been a tad hung over... Just what the doctor ordered :)
Small little place mostly for drive thru or carry out. 2 booths and some high chairs available inside. Food is delicious. If you're from San Diego or Southern California you will love this place. Carne asada burrito, California burrito added guacamole, rolled tacos and carne asada fries were delicious and exactly what was expected.
SO SO GOOD!! I grew up in Southern CA and have missed this so much!! It was everything I was hoping for. It is exactly the same as the CA locations. We ordered the Rolled Tacos & Carne Asada Fries. Everything was cooked perfectly. The Carne Asada Fries were LOADED with meat. The price is super worth it. We live about 2.5 hours away but will be stopping every time we pass by from now on! The location is super convenient off the Hwy. Customer service was great in the drivethru.
The person that helped us was so funny and patient. She made us laugh so much and was really good at customer service. Of course our food was delicious. We never spoke just mmmm...mmmm. The Pepino Aqua Fresca was perfect with my cheese enchiladas. We ordered food to go after we finished eating there. My California burrito was everything I haven't had in 2 years since leaving San Diego. We will be back often since it's just a short drive. Waaaay shorter than SD. Thank you for having red sauce on enchiladas. It was the best way to end 2025.
My wife, son and I always crave carne asada (fries and chips especially) like we would get back in SD, and Roberto’s always scratches that itch. Great and prompt service, the convenience of ordering through the app makes it so easy to drive and pickup our orders (we live in Las Colinas). Thank you for bringing the taste of San Diego here to the DFW!
I’ve got to say, when Roberto’s opened up in Euless, we had to make the drive. My wife grew up in San Diego and Roberto’s was always a part of life there, so we couldn’t wait to see if this location lived up to the original. From the very first bite, it felt like we were back in San Diego again! The food has that same authentic flavor we’ve loved in California and Arizona. The service was just as impressive. The gentleman who owns the place welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home. That kind of hospitality goes a long way, and it showed how much pride they put into both their food and their customers. ❤️ Even though it’s about an hour away for us, we’ve already made the trip three times since they opened in late July. That alone should tell you how much we’ve enjoyed our visits. If you’re looking for a spot that brings the San Diego Roberto’s experience right here to Texas, this is the place. Definitely worth the drive and one you’ll want to come back to again and again. Follow @joeypauga on TT, FB, YT, IG, LinkedIN and X
My California friends! This is a stop you cannot miss!! This is truly Roberto's of Southern California. The only thing they missed is the size of their dining room. Carne asada burrito was 100% on point. Cashiers were very friendly! If you close your eyes while you're eating your burrito you can almost hear the waves crashing on mission Beach and the roller coaster ripping around the corner.
Run! Don't walk! Get here as fast as you can! This is the real deal San Diego Mexican food!!!! We are from San Diego and the other "California" or "San Diego" are not true San Diego Mexican food - Roberto's is the place!
I grew up in Southern California, but I’ve been gone for 30 years. So I was excited to try my hometown amazing Mexican shop. Keep in mind there’s only two tables and five seats of the bar. More than likely, you’ll have to get it to go or eat in the car like a lot of people do. We got two Carne Asada burritos and our order of the Asada fries and two extra large sodas, all for $40. Let me tell you it was just as good as I remembered it. The tortillas are brought in from California and the Asada is amazing.
Look at the food pics. Legit stuff, not no fake carne asada like so many other places . Will come here often. I would go to the locations in San Diego when I lived there from 2012 -2019
Best Mexican food in texas! We drive 2 hours for their food. Reminds us of home!
As a native San Diegan, this tastes just like home! So glad we finally have some REAL rolled tacos (not taquitos) in the DFW! Real carne asada too… most definitely worth the drive from downtown Dallas where I live.
Growing up in Las Vegas, Roberto’s Taco Shop was a staple around town and now that it’s finally opened nearby, I feel like a piece of home just got handed back to me in a warm tortilla. And YES… it’s just as good as I remembered. Here’s what we devoured: 2 orders of Carne Asada Fries: Absolutely LOADED with tender, flavorful meat and guacamole. No skimping here! Every bite was rich, savory, and indulgent. Chicken Chimichanga: Huge, crispy, and packed with flavor. The kind of meal that makes you want to nap afterwards in the best way. Cheese Quesadilla: Generous enough to split between two hungry kids and still have leftovers. Golden and gooey perfection. Pickled Carrots & Jalapeños: Perfect balance of tang and spice, not too hot, just enough to wake up your taste buds. Carne Asada Burrito. No filler here. Just juicy meat and guac, rolled up right. It’s everything I missed about the west coast burritos. I gave the atmosphere 4⭐️ since there are only two booths and a few stools facing the window, so it gets tight with even 6–8 people inside. I ordered mine to-go and did my best to stay tucked out of the way. That said, it’s a place made for to-go goodness and flavor, not fine dining and bringing the whole gang to eat inside. We split these meals, plus a couple sides of beans and one rice ($72 total) among 4 adults, 1 pre-teen, and 2 toddlers and we still had some left over! Bonus shoutout: The drive-thru was wrapped around the building but the gentleman inside taking orders and managing the front was kind, fast, and totally on top of it. I’d wait all over again for that food. 💯
A little taste of Baja right here in DFW! My husband is from San Diego and the only thing we missed was true carne asada and Cali style rolled tacos. He got a carne asada burrito, split an order of rolled tacos with cheese and Guacamole, and I got the Cali Burrito - of course we also grabbed lots of red and green sauces. Everything was prepared perfectly, seasoned the way it should be, and it was all ready fairly fast in the drive-thru. Totally worth the drive from Little Elm - highly recommended to anyone missing real San Diego style Mexican food!
Bomb!! Just like san diego. San diegan native and cali style taco shops are non existent here. So thankful this is local and the staff was SO friendly. RUN!!!
Yes it’s tiny inside. Wow great food I was transported from Texas to the San Diego coast with one bite of food !!! Cali burrito Shredded beef taco Enchilada Surf and turf fries Soft taco with guacamole And the horchata !!! 3 rolled tacos
Great taco shop, the chimichangas or burritos are almost enough for two people, the cheese enchiladas in ancho chiles are legit cal-mex deliciousness, the torta is super fresh bread and the crispy taco is cruchylicious, we’ve been to the original in Parker AZ, and so happy the came to Bedford. Great food, fast!! Their lobby only has two tables and about 8 wall barstools, worth it!!

Review: Roberto's - Authentic West Coast Flavor Roberto's brings a genuinely authentic taste of the West Coast to the table! Knowing a few cooks from Roberto's in both Las Vegas and San Diego, I had high expectations, and overall, this place absolutely delivered. I tried the carne asada taco, the beef taco, and the chicken taco. The star of the show, without a doubt, was the carne asada taco. The asada was cooked absolutely perfectly—tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. It's truly spot-on with what you'd find in a classic West Coast taqueria. The only minor letdown was the sides. I felt the rice and refried beans were a little dry, which was surprising given my experience; the rice from Roberto's I know is usually cooked fresh daily. The only real logistical complaint I have is the lack of dine-in seating. With food this good, you want to sit down and savor it, but the seating options are quite limited. Bottom line: Despite the small issue with the sides and the seating crunch, the core food—especially that incredible carne asada—is worth the visit. I will definitely be coming back more than once! If you're craving real West Coast Mexican food, this is your spot.
From a transplant from San Diego, this is pretty dang close to my old neighborhood Roberto's Taco Shop. Today's visit was my first taste in 20 years so my expectations were high. The taste of the shredded beef was lacking the robust flavor I remember and miss. The portions were the same, but it didn't matter so much if the old California taste wasn't there. If you don't know what your missing, you'll love this place. Fast food like this is hard to find.
The drive thru wait was about 15 minutes. Food was fresh and delicious. Not greasy at all which we love! Salsas are a little watery compared to what we are used to but still have a kick! We tried 3 items tonight California burrito, added beans and rice, 10/10! The original Asada burrito was great but I thought it came with guacamole and salsa fresca but it wasn't included (maybe i misunderstood the menu) added rice and beans and it was good 8/10, the shredded beef tostada was full of meat and all the good stuff 10/10. Total for 3 items with the extras was about $35 not bad. The burritos are big! Customer service was polite and straight the the point. We will definitely be trying them again.
Rolled tacos were great with a large portion of guac. Carne asada fries were a bit soggy- would prefer if the fries were crispy and pico topping for the price. The staff I encountered were unprofessional but I was not expecting a fine dining experience. Only received 4 small salsa cups with a $60 order- make sure to ask for extra! Recommend for a fresh meal with slightly higher than fast food prices.

We were looking forward to trying this place but left underwhelmed. The tacos are quite expensive, especially for the quality. My grilled shrimp tacos were particularly disappointing—the tortilla was undercooked and didn't have any flavor, and the whole taco just tasted plain. My husband had the carne asada tacos. The avocado was a nice touch, but the meat itself was very simple and lacked any real seasoning or flavor. Overall, the prices don't match the quality.
I say this with the upmost respect: For the love of god please season the food. Overall not a bad experience but this place was BLAND, subpar, fast food. Carne plate was dry and bland, crispy tacos (which are actually flautas) while crunchy and well fried....bland. The Verde sauce is tomatillo water at best, no heat, no consistency, no flavor. Please use higher quality store bought tortilla/meat/lettuce. Ingredients make or break fast food and the bargain bin el paso corn tortillas and goya canned beans aren't going to make this spot successful.
We've tried this place 3 times.. Once after they opened. It was good but they were still working out the kinks. Not a deal breaker so we said we'd try it again. Second time, it was just meh. This place is closer than our usual place so we decided to give it another go. The service was great. The guy at the window was knowledgeable, helpful, respectful. The food was just okay. Third time, just no. The service was underwhelming and the food was terrible. The carnitas were salty. The carne asada had more inedible pieces than edible. The pico tasted old and bitter. The fries were barely cooked. My burrito looked more like a quesadilla and the inside was so cold. We decided the 3rd time was the last time. We'll drive the extra distance to go to our usual place.. Sorry guys, it's just not worth the $$$.
If you are going to spend $5 for a taco.. this sint the place for that. Im sure there's better tacos for the price. And I waited for one taco... yup. The photo is what $5 will buy you. Jack gETS you 4 for that price. LOL.
We went after seeing a TikTok talking about how this is authentic California Mexican food and I have never been more disappointed firstly it was $28 for everything and secondly the food was disgusting the enchilada and chile relleno had chili on top of it which is Not California style but Tex-mex and the carne asada burrito which typically in California will have rice and beans inside was just purely carne asada and the driest at that! The beans in the chile relleno plate were obviously canned refried beans as well. It was honestly just horrible and it took 20 minutes to get while the food was mediocre! I would not recommend this place one bit unless you are looking for the worst Mexican food around!
My husband and his co-worker went and bought tacos and quesadilla and both were definitely old items that were just thrown in old oil and heated up. They observed and there were absolutely NO current cooking happening. Didn't realize it until they left that the items were theirs that were just being heated up. Not sure how they got the previous reviews but we wouldn't recommend eating at this place to our worst enemy. Photos of the oil soggy quesadilla. SERVING OLD RE-HEATED FOOD IS A HEALTH HAZARD. Will definitely send the Health Department to do a check.
