Loved it here!!! Edwin and Matthew were fantastic and social bartenders. I ordered the shrimp ceviche and beef queso tacos for my appetizer and entree. My cocktails were the Mango (No) Caliente, Strawberry (No) Jalapeño, and Blackberry Margarita. These two deserve a free meal for their high quality service.

I celebrated my birthday at Calo Kitchen in El Segundo two Fridays ago, and the experience was amazing. The entire staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. I don’t remember our server’s name, but he truly deserves a shoutout. He had the best energy, made us feel so comfortable and welcomed, he even took photos for us! The food was great like always. I love their enchiladas, especially the lobster and shrimp enchiladas. They are a must try. The atmosphere is beautiful with great lighting, the interior is really nice, making it a perfect spot for celebrating. They surprised me with a birthday card and ice cream, it all meant a lot and made the night extra special. Truly the best staff. 10/10 I will definitely be coming back.

When looking at a Mexican place, there are two things I look for: are there free chips and salsa, and are the chips good. And let me tell you, these chips are great, and Nicolas kept them coming- with a delicious bean dip too. Nicolas was top notch and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Food was fantastic, and vibes were immaculate. Highly recommend.

First time here and it was awesome since the moment to meet the host to leaving. Food is delicious and portions are big. Servers are really nice and very friendly. They serve chips with beans plus salsa. Really good beans! We ordered chicken fajitas and shrimp salad. Some lettice leaves in the salad were rotten and had no problem to change the dish for another option and did not charge for the one they had to take away. We got churros as a compliment and were also delicious. Strawberry lemonade was great as well.

Calo Kitchen and Tequila is an EXCELLENT local restaurant! There are so many positives that I would like to share. First and foremost, the food is very delicious and the portions are standard to large. We ordered an avocado dish that was HUGE! The tostado salad with chicken was enough to take home for a second meal. The same was said by my friends who ordered the steak enchiladas and the spinach vegetable enchiladas. Each table receives a bean dip, chips, and a homemade salsa. AMAZING! Our waiter, Alex, was very attentive, but not pushy! We lingered for a while after dessert and never felt rushed. (By the way, the churros with ice cream was a great "last bites" to our meal and a nice way to celebrate a birthday with a candle added by the waiter.). While not cheap, it was worth the price.

Staff were SO friendly and accommodating. My friend and I were visiting from out-of-state and this was where we had our final meal on the trip. The margaritas and food were fantastic, and our server Nathan was attentive, knowledgeable, and so personable. My only critique is that upstairs is kinda dark at night and so I had to use my phone's light to read the menu (felt like my dad, haha), so if you use glasses for reading, I suggest you have those on hand or read over the menu before you arrive. The vibe/atmosphere overall was hip, food arrived quickly, and there was a larger outdoor seating area where someone was celebrating their birthday, so this spot seemed great for a celebration.

While in the area, we were looking for a good spot to have lunch and luckily found this gem nearby. Thanks to the thousands of positive reviews, we decided to give it a try — and we’re so glad we did! This is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with outdoor seating that was just perfect for the beautiful weather. The service was top-notch — attentive, friendly, and efficient. We ordered Chicken Fajitas, Salmon Asado, and Carnitas, and every dish was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the overall experience. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area — it truly lives up to the hype!

When we entered the restaurant you will see a contemporary decor. The outdoor seating area is large with warmers for those colder days. The outdoor seating area is covered. This restaurant has a passion for fantastic food and service. The recipes were curated in 1962 which are holding true to great flavored Mexican cuisine. The menu selection has Mexican classics and favorites such as shrimp Taquitos (chef kiss💋). The shrimp Taquitos had my taste buds screaming for more! The chips were served warm with fresh salsa. The salsa has the right amount of spice. The baked beans were delicious as well. My cousin said her Chimichangas was delicious. My sister enjoyed the salmon asado. She said the salmon and rice were fantastic. We came for a birthday celebration and our server Samuel made this visit spectacular and very memorable. He danced us to our seats. My sister and I dance right along with him and gave a spin when we got ready to sit down. Samuel has an upbeat personality and very knowledgeable of the restaurant and menu as well the drinks 🍹. He came over and checked on our table periodically. Refreshed our drinks. When I say service with a smile….. Samuel has it! He is that perfect 10 in my book. Samuel added a “Thank you” to each of his receipts. I recommend you make reservations as this restaurant is extremely busy. There is plenty of parking paid and free parking.

Location: 5/5. Lots of free parking and easy to access Service: 5/5. Samuel our server was the best part about our experience at Calo. He was incredible Food: 3/5. Very bland meat. Got the steak fajitas. Was a small serving as well. Chips were good Drinks: 4/5. Very tasty margaritas, too sweet to be a 5/5. Got 7 different ones on their menu. All good. Would come again but eat food before doing so

I went for a dinner party and we were seated upstairs. It was so nice so much space and the waiters were absolutely amazing they made sure we had everything we need before we even had to ask for it but now let’s get to the good part. They have a bean dip and salsa with chips that they give you when I tell you it is so good I think like six of us order them to go the tacos were great the shrimp and enchiladas everything that we had as a group was amazing. Everybody was completely satisfied so if you’re in the mood for Mexican food this is a good spot. I believe on the weekend you might want to make a reservation if possible because from my understanding it gets really crowded on Fridays and Saturdays and I remember being told happy hour is quite popular as well.
