La Higuera Restaurant, a long-standing local spot, serves traditional dishes with excellent seasoning. It's located almost across from the main entrance to the El Tajin archaeological site (about half a block away). The service has improved in speed; previously, it took over half an hour to serve, but now it seems faster. The variety of dishes is extensive and varied, so much so that they make some mistakes when taking orders. It's hard to understand what they're writing down, and they bring something else. I ordered an Americano coffee, and they brought me a pot of coffee, which, by the way, is delicious. I recommend it, but it wasn't what I ordered. The portions are very generous. I recommend the ribs with chili and garlic. It would be a four-star place, but I'm only giving it three because I think, for the price you pay to eat there, it should be nicer. They have enough space and green areas to make it more welcoming and tidy. Plus, being a restaurant, they could manage the food waste for all the stray animals in the area instead of scaring them away in search of a bite. The cost per person is over 200 pesos.

Average value for money. The food is traditional, but I think you can find the same for less. The portions are medium, and the place is quiet. They cook with plenty of lard, and the mole is even hotter—yes, it's very spicy.

Unfortunately, the staff's service left much to be desired, with no interest in the diners. The restaurant needs to improve on many basic details, such as providing tortilla racks to keep the handmade tortillas warm and paper napkins on all tables. They should have bottled drinks to avoid direct contact and prevent infection during the pandemic, not just cans. They should offer a generous amount of hot mole and not skimp on it, as it is the main and traditional dish that distinguished this place. The plastic tables and chairs do not contribute to comfort. And in terms of cost, it is really expensive compared to the quantity and portion served.
