Unlike other diners, they give you a nice mix and match with eggs. Also their Crab cakes are delicious and meaty. I recommend you stop by and check it out.

First time eating at a diner, and I must say, I loved it. From the greetings upon entering, the service was prompt, and our food came in a timely manner. The food was really good too.

I’ve been coming to Stop 20 since highschool. I’ve had meals here with friends, family and my boyfriend who is now my husband. I am now 31, living out of town and me and my husband still come here every now and then when we are in the area. Staff are very attentive and friendly, and the food is amazing. Stop 20 is the best diner in Long Island…hands down!

Best breakfast I've ever had. I got the eggs Florentine and I was beyond depressed. It took about 10 minutes for my food to be my on the table. It was both rich and filling. The customer service was good and the prices were fair, especially for New York. I definitely recommend this to anybody for breakfast.

The food is excellent, with nice-sized portions. I usually take a doggie bag and eat later in the day. We go almost every other Wednesday. The atmosphere is calm, warm, and friendly, and the wait staff is great.

Always save the day for my late dinners. Feb 2022 this was such a nice surprise after ordering my cappuccino. The wait staff here is awesome as well as the food. They also use heat in the winter unlike other places that freeze you out. I just love it here. Feels like home

Better than I expected, surprisingly good for dinner food. I had the Maryland delight( two crab cakes with hollandaise sauce, on top of spinach, with scrambled eggs with cheese and cheese grits.

There are very few diners left these days but this one is outstanding in every way. The staff there all know and treat us like family. The food is good. The bathrooms are always clean. And there's ample parking for everyone. I'm sure if you visit here you'll definitely return.

Ordered French toast with bacon and it was SPOT ON. Been to many, many NYC diners and bacon is always made hours beforehand and is dry and hard. This bacon was freshly made --not sure if I luckily caught them at a good time but it makes no difference because it was awesome. Syrup wasn't served in those tiny plastic individual packages. Syrup was served in a little single-serving metal cup which made it a little more classy and it tasted better than the stuff you usually get in plastic. I never order diner breakfast sausage because it's always a disappointment. My friend ordered the sausage and I tried some of his and it was delicious. Just how fresh breakfast sausage should taste. I will definitely be back. Service was quick and friendly. We had a large party (about 10) and several staff members kept waiting on us making sure coffee was topped off and everything was satisfactory. Prices on par.

Every waiter, waitress, busboy are super friendly and helpful. But the food! We've never had 1 bad meal - everything has been great. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend this diner.

The food here is always fresh and hot. You can get anything you want so don't worry about special dietary requirements, etc. The coffee is always piping hot and they refill it so quickly, it becomes a bottomless cup. For breakfast, the chicken and waffles are a must have. My nephews love ordering them. You cant go wrong with any of the omelets. They will customize according to your taste. I have been coming here for a few years now and when I am in the area, I make it a point to stop by. The parking in the lot may be challenging at times but you can park on the street or around the corner. This is a great place to dine alone or with the family.

Used to frequent Swing the Teapot in Floral park but had to get my breakfast fix elsewhere when they were under renovation. Stop 20 not only filled the void, but has become a weekly must. The food is always hot and fresh, the service is fast and attentive, and the staff make you feel like family. I ended up here on New Year's eve because I had no food at home and it was after 10pm. They were the only place serving food until midnight so I figured a cheese burger will have to do. I ordered mine on a pinini bread and asked for a double patty since 99% of the diners out there make paper thin patties. This thing was a beast. They make their own burgers which is obvious because both of my burgers were not exactly identical. My hat goes off to that one. As a business owner myself, whoever runs this place knows that cutting corners only cuts your profits, and making each and every patty themselves is a lesson every other restaurant on Long Island can learn from. I was not expecting much however, this burger was really Bang Bang Bonkers. I had to get a piece of 7 layer cake which they make themselves as well and it was simply smashing. Last, and most important.... CLEAN... The place is spotless, even the utensils. I don't care what price point you are targeting, keeping the place clean should always be a priority. I did not see one employee doing nothing. If they weren't helping customers, they were cleaning and taking care of the business. An example for every other restaurant to follow Nothing makes me happier than getting something to eat at a restaurant where my expectations are low or neutral, and then I got blown out of my seat with perfection of simplicity. Stop 20 Diner did not try to reivent any of the timeless classics that most people expect to be available at a diner and that is exactly why everything here is delicious. Everything here is delicous and all the staff, not just my waiter were helpful and friendly. Most of them even said hello. Cheers to the owner here for keeping the most important people happy, the customers!! :)

The lemon marring pie, and cake inside was a pleasant surprise; the sweetness made this a scrumptious bite with every morsel I ate I was filled with joy, and gratitude. The service is excellent, they are very polite. The place is clean and the atmosphere is very friendly. About the food I order toast, eggs, sausage and home fries, but they were burn. For this reason I have 4 starts in the food.

Very nice neighborhood gem. The service is great. The variety is plentiful. The waiters are pleasant, hardworking, attentive, and accommodating. The place does get packed on the weekends. But the tables do move quickly. It is almost as if the community has a built-in courtesy meter to sit and enjoy the meal. But don't overstay when clearly people have been waiting. Also, no matter what you order, it seems like the food comes out fast. I would recommend Mimosa brunch special if there is more menu room. The parking is ample with the diner lot and municipal parking in the rear.

Food was very good and plentiful, I opted for the Pancakes Brunch; with came with Three nice sized cakes, Two eggs, Ham, Bacon, Sausage and Fruit Cup, Tea or Coffee and small juice of choice. My daughter opted for the Chicken and Waffles which came with the Fruit Cup and Coffee and small juice. She liked the crispy coating nicley seasoned and the tenderness of the Chicken.

Huge menu!! Food was okay, kinda flavorless. I had chicken scampi over rice and it was bland. But my friend had some vodka sauce pasta and her's was yummy flavorful. Guess it just depends on what you order🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ lots of yummy desserts to choose from!

It's a diner, think fried foods and breakfasts. The service is excellent and the food comes out quick. The food is nothing special and I was disappointed with the french toast. This time around the cappuccino was also disappointing. The fries are perfect, I ate the whole portion of fries in 1 sitting. It was perfectly seasoned and crispy, just the way I like it.

Manager and staff was pleasant... it's a little pricey so be prepared .. large portions.

They charge $5 for a cup of juice, $3 for a cup of coffee, and making any changes to menu items is also really expensive. Other than that ridiculous robbery, the place is decent. Food is good, portions are large. Just avoid modifying food items or ordering drinks.

I haven't been to the location since I usually order Online but I can sure say the food is tasty. Sometimes I need to add a little extra seasoning but that's rare. The portions are perfect, when I've called in for requests, they make it happen. I have been to many diners but this one is at the top of the list. Major variety in offerings, a must try!

VERY Popular Diner for a LOT of people in Nassau & Queens; for years! Busy (not crowded) any hour of the day. They have like a six page menu full of delicious (and plentiful!) choices. Kudos to Chef, Staff (friendly & courteous) and Mgmt; operate smooth & efficient, like motor. "More coffee?"..."finished with that?" Tables cleared and ready in a flash. Regulars know! Parking is limited, but a parking is adjacent to location. Highly recommend.

Personally, I’ve been coming here for years but as of recently like the past year or so the traditional chicken fingers + fries have been tasting bland with no flavor. On top of that, the Sprite isn’t coming out how it’s supposed to; tasting watered down. I think, they need to add more ingredients to make it taste better or fresher. It used to be a perfect 10/10 now I’d say 6/10. You know, the bread basket the new bread comes out tasting so weird and gross I preferred when it was like regular loaf of bread with butter that was so much better. I don’t know, but those things really lacked flavor and if they were warmer it would be even tastier. Just my advice, I will continue to come here.

A group of us decided to have a snack after a fantastic TSO concert at the UBS arena. We were immediately comfortably seated, place was clean, staff were friendly, everyone seemed to like their order and portions were generous, however, when it came to their homemade desserts, we ordered two Fudge Nut Brownes to share, the brownie with the ice cream was as tough as a brick, the brownies were a disappointment (low grade ingredients and inedible) my suggestion is to change up the ingredients (including the type of chocolate) and I’m sure it will compliment the meal.

I usually don’t like diner food , but my boyfriend and I were really hungry and this was the only place open late night. We went in and had a pretty good experience! Even though it’s pretty basic, I loved the Caesar salad : croutons were nice and crunchy, salad was fresh and the Caesar dressing was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. The fried chicken wings were very crispy and delicious. The lemonades were sooooo good and fresh that we had to order another with our food and take two more to go lol. The only thing I didn’t care too much for was the turkey guacamole wrap: the guacamole wasn’t too good to me and there could’ve been less turkey. But I enjoyed how crunchy and fried the French fries were. My sister had the chicken Parmesan and said it was one of the best she’s ever had. I definitely recommend this place for a late night bite to eat.

The place was packed and busy. We figured it had to be a good sign. A server brought us menus, didn't greet us. I initiated the "good morning". Second server takes our orders and of all things my husband decides he wants to try a chicken sandwich since it's now 11:30am. "But, the reviews" I warn. "Who could mess up a chicken sandwich ", he says. Our son chooses their salami, sausage and bacon omelet. Our orders arrive. Looks pretty good. My dish tasted fine (corn beef hash and eggs). My husband did not like the sandwich. Dry, no flavor. My son's 3 meat omelet only came with salami. No bacon, no sausage and the cheese was suss. Seriously? I can understand the mixed reviews. Our server was nice and comped us for our sons dish but we're here to eat and enjoy our meal. I want all of us to have a good experience. Sadly that wasn't the case. We absolutely will not be returning to Stop 20. There's plenty of other diners out there. I'm not willing to give them another chance.

The food was bad and wasn’t cooked all the way. We had to ask for ice in our drinks, and there were no desserts. We got the special and the desserts in the window were not accessible and we couldn’t get. There were only 2-3 deserts able to eat out of the probably 15 deserts in the window.

This used to be our go to diner for years. Something has changed - new owners or management? For the first time I did not enjoy my food at all - seemed like frozen spinach was used for my omelette and the feta did not taste like feta. The host was new to me and did not greet us smiling. I also used to pick up Uber deliveries here for a few years and they were super friendly then (2-3 yrs ago). Next time I want to treat my family will not be here.

Well the manager was greedy for tips and actually took our waiters tip and put it in his pocket. The pancakes were bland and syrup was tasteless. Then my sister and I sat at a table and this man kept letting it rip (fart). The only decent item I enjoyed was the mimosas.

Normally i give stop 20 a 5, i been coming here or ordering from here for decades, however recently i ordered a buy 1 get one free chicken and waffles and i was in shock, the chicken was hard and i kid you not we actually wind up throwing it away, so it was a waist. My review is not to bash stop20 i love the diner but had to let you know so they are more careful next time, i now live in freeport and had it delivered there put of loyalty, so hopefully whoever reads it can stay ontop of that.

The chicken soup, salad, and string beans were good but the fried chicken and steak were bland and in dire need of seasoning. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant mashed potatoes from a box and the apple pie had no flavor. It was really unfortunate that the food wasn’t good because our service was fantastic. Our server was extremely attentive and when he noticed I didn’t like the apple pie, he gave me a complimentary cheesecake.

This review is for Stop 20 Diner: I ordered their Thanksgiving dinner for $55 which was to include baked Mac n cheese, corn bread, stuffing, cranberry sauce, yams, sliced turkey breast, soup, salad and pumpkin pie. When I received my order I realized I was missing the baked Mac m cheese and corn bread.I mentioned befire that stuffing was to be included, but what I received was some mash up of something looking like mince meat.. and it was crunchy. The gravy was this bright beige and was so thick I needed to add water. The soup was just as thick and it appeared to be playobg double duty as their gravy. When I called about the missing items, the lady immediately started telling me that I didn't pay for the option with mac n cheese... mind you I hadn't given her any of my info yet. The manager tried to blame it on the driver first (meanwhile I told him the bag was sealed), and then me when I mentioned it does happen that you left something out of the bag. But he took it as if i was saying g it's happened before, as if he was blaming me for making a baseless claim. Their bad attitude was reflected in their food because the food was one of my worst restaurant experiences EVER!!! Mind you after paying delivery and the monstrosity they called their Thanksgiving dinner, it cost me over $80. I realize its a diner, but they can do 100x better all around. I DO NOT recommend this place if you're into quality and having the right energy cooking your food.

The food at Stop 20 Diner off Hempstead Turnpike was straight from a can and it was very disgusting. The potato that was given was old and dried out, the corn kernel was directly poured from out of a can, I was tasting every bit of aluminum tin taste in my meal. This establishment should be ashamed, they should not deserve the title “restaurant”. You’d have better luck down by the food pantry rather than spending $33 for junk like me. Do not purchase food from here, you have been honestly warned. Dogs in this country eats better.

Unfortunately my waffle had a piece of cardboard lodged inside. The manager did offer to remake the waffle but my appetite was completely gone.

My family and I have been coming to Stop 20 Diner for over 15 years. It’s always been a reliable neighborhood spot with great service, good food, and a comfortable atmosphere. We’ve never had a bad experience until today. From the moment we sat down, something felt off. We were seated in a different booth than usual, which was fine, but it took over 10 minutes for anyone to offer us coffee something that’s usually served right away. That alone was surprising, considering how efficient the staff normally is. I decided to try something new and ordered the fried filet of sole on a brioche bun. I didn’t mind the upcharge and was actually looking forward to it. But as soon as the plate was handed to me, I noticed an odd smell. I thought maybe I was imagining it, so I gave it a try. One bite in, I had to spit it out. The taste was just as off as the smell. I didn’t want to make a scene, so I quietly flagged our waiter. Rather than listening, he shrugged it off and pointed toward another man an older gentleman in a black shirt, who I assume was the manager. He approached us slowly and, before even asking what the issue was, said, “Our fish is fresh every day. Why don’t you like it?” I explained that the smell and taste didn’t seem right. He picked up the plate, smelled it himself, and then muttered, “Oh, it smells,” before walking away. No apology. No acknowledgment. Just complete dismissal. After so many years of consistently great visits, this was disappointing. I understand things can go wrong in a restaurant. But what matters is how it’s handled and today, it wasn’t handled with any care or respect. An apology would’ve been enough.

This used to be our favorite place. Today I ordered chicken cutlet sandwich to go for the first time. The menu says $10.95. They charged $14. I called and she said I added lettuce and tomatoes and it was to go. Further she added the price should be higher. She said she has to take another phone call like my inquiry was not that important. I wanted to tell her that the sandwich was not good at all but I was not important enough. We have been eating this sandwich for years and they never charged extra for this. In fact we ask them to remove pickles and cole slaw. Surprisingly it costs more for to go. Why? I miss George. Not sure if I will return. It’s not about $2, it’s about the service. Update: Thank you for your prompt response. It’s possible that in the past, any additional charges went unnoticed when we dined onsite, as they were blended into the total with multiple meals and drinks. This was the first time we ordered only a sandwich to go, which made the issue more evident. What stood out to me more than the charge itself was how my call was handled. I felt rushed off the phone, as though the concern was being dismissed in order to answer another call. I was also told I should have been charged even more, which was surprising—especially since the sandwich itself was not enjoyable, and I didn’t have the chance to express that. For clarity, we have never received complimentary food, and certainly not from George. If George is no longer with the restaurant, that is unfortunate, as his friendliness and genuine service were a highlight of our visits. This time the complete opposite.

I order from this place. Usually, weekly, their food is good when they take the correct order. They need to listen to their customers and take the correct order. Make sure it's the correct food and cooked properly.

The manager told me I ordered wrong on my uber order, which was incorrect since I order the same thing repeatedly & just hit reorder. When I called I was told I must not know what I’m doing & the guy actually laughed at me! There are other diners around. Done with this place especially with the prices they are charging. $16 for pancakes!! Ha

I order a burger and some dessert this morning As I know all the burgers comes with french fries But they didn’t send it french fries. They just sent me one burger that’s it. And I don’t know why cheesecake taste was terrible. I think it was spoiled. I never mind the price of food as long as the Quality is on point. Last, night I ordered Jumbo Shrimp with Waffle Fries and an order of Fried Calamari. The Shrimp DID NOT taste like Shrimp. They were dried out and the seasoning they were fried with just over all tasted very plain. Now, the Calamari was absolutely not cooked right. The color you can tell is off. It was overly cooked and most of the pieces I was able to bite felt hard, dry and gross in each bite. I paid close to $50! At this point I should've just gone to the Grocery store and gotten milk with Chocolate Rice Crispy Cereal. At least the texture would've been crispy and delicious. Never coming here again.
