Tex’s employee Eman has been the best worker, friendly, understanding, and respectful to customers since 2023. I am a hearing-impaired mother with my two sons. She is a very patient person who listens and helps me with what I want to order for my sons' meals. They love Tex’s Chicken & Burger menu foods, except they want to order dessert, specifically cheesecake and Brownie, but Tex’s doesn't have those desserts. It’s always great vibes seeing Muskan and Malik working the counter, and the individuals preparing the order. Overall the food quality is pretty good for my liking. Recently tried the loaded fries for the first time. It kinda surprised my taste buds in a good way. They were really worth every bite, which also included the four for five that I also bought. The Chicken at the Hempstead Turnpike location is alright...But for really good Texas Chicken & Burgers head to the Jamaica location. I drive 30 minutes from my house to that location for delicious Spicy Wings!!

This is my second time coming here. The food is excellent, but my issue is the bathroom being out of order. I can’t wash my hands. Can’t use the bathroom. I gotta go outside to use the bathroom. I don’t think that’s cool. So now I can’t wash my hands now I have to find a place to use bathroom.

The fried chicken, & fries here are very good. Especially after experiencing the slop that KFC passes off as food during their "$10 Tuesday" sale! The pricing is a little high. But to be fair i am always seeking specials @ fast-food restaurants (BK, KFC, McD.) The burgers are decent. Free refills from the soda fountain machine. It was leaking water. Hopefully, they will fix that. The staff is friendly, but they need to do a little better @ wiping all the tables after their customers are finished their meals. I will visit again. But I probably will not dine in.

Been a fan of the Texas in New Hyde Park for a while, so I wanted to check this new one out (especially since it’s only walking distance from me), and compare the two. Honestly when it comes to the food, there’s not much to compare as they’re both literally the same in terms of the type and quality of food. Which makes sense since it’s literally a fast food joint, and they use the exact same ingredients and techniques in their cooking. You could go to a McDonald’s in NY or a McDonald’s in Cali, the food will probably taste the same. It’s good, nothing special. Just average fast food, except it’s halal and pricey. Seriously, I liked the two burgers I got, but the I don’t think it was worth the money that I spent. Might be more pricey than other locations. The two Crown Fried Chickens in Elmont have better food, it’s cheaper and larger in quantity so I’ll probably just continue going there. Despite just opening up a month ago, I was surprised at how unkept the place was. The floors were sticky and looked as if they hadn’t been mopped in days. The tables has lots of garbage on them. People should seriously clean up after themselves but if they don’t, it’s up to the employees to make sure the tables are in sanity to ensure customer satisfaction for those who wish to dine in. Especially since it was packed when I went (Friday night so go figure). Compared to the Texas in New Hyde Park, it’s smaller. Less tables, less places to sit. It’s more meant for takeout than dine in, whereas the one in NHP is a lot more accommodating for families who wish to sit and eat their meal. About a few of families can dine in at once at this location, whereas the one in NHP can accommodate more at once. And yes they have bathrooms. As for the service... it wasn’t anything to write home about. Wasn’t god awful, but there were 3 people in the front and at least 5 cooking in the back, and it still took 20 minutes from the time they took my order and gave me my food. And there were only a few people ordering before me. The place was still packed tho because many people who had ordered their food were still waiting, presumably for over 10 minutes. Gotta pick up the pace folks. Overall tho, I’d give this place 3/5. The food’s satisfying, albeit pricey (although that’s more a personal complaint than real criticism). I’d have to take off points for their slow service, cleanliness and how tight-packed it is. I wasn’t dissatisfied with the food so I guess I cannot complain TOO MUCH. If your curious, definitely check this place out but make sure you check your expectations at the door.

I hate to leave a 3 star as I'm a loyal customer. Last time I paid for extra sauces which they forgot, today I call the phone and asked if they'd add the sauces which they forgot before. I'm unsure why you guys would risk your customer reputation over something that costs 10 cents... I understand mistakes happen which is why I asked kindly but the girl who picked up was rude IMO. I'd like to say again I don't leave bad reviews on anyones business I want everyone to succeed just very disappointed today.... lost a loyal family of customers for 10 pennies

Jan 16, 2026 around 7pm. The food overall is great, but like many fast food places, you have to check and open and count literally every item for mistakes and shortages. Popeyes does the same shit every damn time on chicken pieces. Went there for the first time in a long time. The fried chicken and fish sandwich as well as hell burger were excellent. One big problem: I ordered the 4 for $5 chicken pcs, and they only gave us 2 thighs and 1 leg, shorting us one piece. Now I will have to open every single package in my to go order, which is a major reason i may not come here often unless i'm eating in, so i don't have to cut open taped boxes to check simple work.

She was more flustered than a hen in a hailstorm. Short-tempered, dismissive, and clearly not equipped to handle the frontlines. Her way with words? Let’s just say it wasn’t one that welcomes you back. Look, every business has off days—and people under pressure crack. But this ain’t about pressure. It’s about preparation. Customer service isn’t just a position it’s a promise. And that promise was broken Friday night. My advice? Shift her to the back for now. Give her space to grow. Send her for real training, not just on buttons and combos but on people. And when she’s ready, give her another shot. Until then, don’t gamble the brand’s reputation on someone who ain’t ready to carry it.

I hate to even say this, but if you’re ordering more than two pieces of chicken prepare to wait! I go here because my boys love this place, but anytime I order a “family meal” I literally wait 25-40 mins and that is not an exaggeration ! The chicken taste great. I just can’t wrap my head around why it takes so long if they are aware of how busy they constantly are! The staff isn’t very welcoming and just yes you to death. If you have patience and time and don’t mind waiting then this is your place! lol

Why is there no catering options available? I went in to get a personal order for myself and I asked the young lady at the register for a catering menu and she replied with saying “there isn’t any.” Not sure if she was just having a bad day, as her attitude was not very friendly, but it’s not worth losing out on a prospective company order $$$$$. I really wanted to like it but it was quite underwhelming. - Chicken seems to have flown the coup in the chicken salad but the little that were present were tasty and not dry. Delivered with no dressing, no fork, no napkins. 👀 - had to try multiple times to put the order through their website where there is a really annoying icon that keeps pushing into the screen to use one if the online delivery companies. - later passing by the store realized, in-store have better deals than on their website. I'm willing to give it one more try before throwing down the towel.

They don’t take phone orders. When you order online, it doesn’t show what is out of stock. They only told me in person they didn’t have certain items I ordered. Only had bbq or honey mustard sauces. When asked for a different sauce, since I didn’t want any sweet sauce, they charged me $1.82 for one sauce. No hot sauce packets were given. I’d avoid this place.

Disrespectful female manager i encountered who probably was 22 who practically proceeded to insult me for questioning how long wait time would be as they were out of chicken. "I believe you can see you're not the only customer here, I know you're not blind." I was appalled, shocked and embarrassed! Unfortunately, out of all the Tex’s locations that I’ve been to, this one was possibly the worst. About a week ago, I ordered a 6 piece chicken wing combo with fries and a drink, and the wings must’ve been a decade old because they smelled like absolute crap. Anyway, the lady up front stated that the wings were made today and I replied to her stating that they absolutely were not and they weren’t fresh, and I even made her smell the absolute horrendous odor the chicken wings had. Thankfully, she took it to the back and showed them and they apologized, but that didn’t make my experience any better. I instead opted to get a three-piece chicken with one thigh and two legs and fries. Will I ever be going back to this place? No.

I was patient for 25 minutes and I began to notice its taking longer than it should. I kept my eyes on the cashier and then went up and asked why its taking so long. He faces back and clicks something on the screen - HE DIDNT EVEN FIRE UP THE ORDER. Had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to make my order. Was considering leaving even after giving the money because this kind of service is beyond terrible and I’m not even going to bother coming again. Foods alright, environments clean. The service is disastrous.

On April 13th, at 4:58P, I made a small order for myself. It was only the 4 for $5 chicken piece and added ONE corn on the cob (2 thighs, 1 leg & a biscuit). After paying, was given my receipt, I sat down at one of their tables. I noticed there were couple of people who entered this place AFTER me and left with their food right away. Hmmm... I thought to myself. I then asked the female clerk when will my food come out. She told me in about 12 MINUTES! Needless to say, I was annoyed. I then told her it would've been good if you had told me IT WILL BE A LIL WAIT... she did not acknowledge me. I just sat there and waited & waited & waited. Fast forward, I wound up leaving out with my order at exactly 5:27P. Based on this experience, I will NEVER STEP FOOT INSIDE THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN. The customer service is garbage.

Went in a few minutes before closing 3:23 door open and everything. Then the worker tells me and my friend they are closed. (Door not locked) However a minute after we left another lady came in and made an order for 20 pieces of chicken and they took her order. After telling us to leave they are closed. I confronted the worker and asked "how come she got to order her food when we didn't", and he proceeded to lie and say that she called ahead to order. The person is still being served and it's now 30 minutes past closing and the woman hasn't received her food yet and also made a payment in the store as I watched from my car. The worker just kept saying "im sorry im sorry, sorry" The lady also confessed to me that she had to "nag" the worker to let her order because she is a regular, and they weren't closed. Moral of the story do NOT let any store tell you they are closed minutes before the posted closing time because they are lying and are CHOOSING not to service you. I get it we came right before closing time, but the issue was someone else was served after telling us they were closed. Do not lie and then choose who you are willing to serve.

Went there last night and ordered 20pc nuggets. After getting home this is how they looked like. After calling them back and asking for an explanation of what happend with my order and why are my nuggets burnt? The worker says, "I DID NOT BURN YOUR NUGGETS, I CHANGED THE COLOR".Why the hell would you change the color?? These nuggets were the result of either being overcooked or Texas not cleaning their oil for the fryer!

Worst chicken tenders I’ve ever had. The chicken was chewy and bouncy and very dry despite being very hot. Fries were like stale McDonald’s fries. I’ve never had to fight a chicken tender to eat it until now. They’re called chicken TENDERS not chicken TOUGHS.

Horrible service and quality. Chickens were extremely greasy and double cooked. Asked the server to provide the right pieces according their rules instead of throwing random pieces, but he end up doing the same. He was eating candy in front of the guest and leaving the unfinished pieces on the counter while serving. Nuggets were reheated or double fried. All biscuits are soggy as well. Every I have been there they have some issues with the food. This is my last visit and I should warns other not to visit them. Better go to the one in Hillside and 255th street. I visited this place for the first time and only wanted to wash my hands. When I asked the cashier, I was told that the bathroom was closed. I then noticed the hand sanitizer, but it was empty. I went back to the cashier and was told again that they didn’t have any sanitizer available. This felt very unprofessional, especially from a customer service and hygiene standpoint. Please look into this and fix the issue.

The food is great but if they don’t want to run away ther customers they need to work on the attitude and customer service experience from their staff. I will never come back to this location based on the nasty attitude of one particular staff member. So if this is her behavior what is she teaching the new person to do. When she saw that I was paying attention to her actions, she involved her self after I had questions about my order. She was very disrespectful, distasteful and the nastiest attitude I’ve even encountered in a food place. When I asked for the manager she continued to give attitude saying my manager is her as if she knows there will be no consequences. While speaking to the manager she stands on the side making mocking faces and shaking her head at me which i was even more disgusted by. When I mentioned yo the manager she turned and told her to shut up. I mean I left there promising to never step food back there again. Who’s holding who accountable? I’m pretty sure you have lost a lot of regular customers like myself based on the attitudes of these staff members. Please fix it.

Called today IN A SNOW STORM to verify they were open. Placed a mobile order and I show up and they ask me if I have an order and I say yes and they proceed to say they’re closed and to cancel the order on the app, go to the app and there’s nothing to cancel but my order is still on the app saying it’s gone through. They never have mashed potatoes and they only fill up their fries half way. 0/10. Do better. Drove in a snow storm dealing with people who can’t drive after calling to verify and their door was UNLOCKED FOR PEOPLE TO ENTER, and they say CLOSED.

I’m really disappointed with Texas Chicken & Burgers. The whole staff is working extremely hard, but the store management is treating them unfairly. The workers are outside cleaning heavy snow with shovels, even though this is a good-earning store. It’s a shame that the store doesn’t even spend money on proper snow-cleaning equipment or a truck.

Ordered from this location (1349 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont) via Uber Eats and the food arrived completely cold – no heat at all, like it was sitting out for ages or pre-made and not packed properly. The chicken/burger was inedible and tasted awful. Worse, the staff attitude was extremely rude and unfriendly – impatient, dismissive, and aggressive when dealing with questions. Terrible customer service. Not worth the money at all. Avoid this spot. 1 star.

If you don’t ask them to cook your burger well done, they’ll give you undercooked meat that’s not safe to eat. As a former waiter, if a customer I’ve never seen before asked me to remake their burger, I’d gladly do it, let alone for a loyal customer. This is my first time ordering this grilled chicken sandwich. It was extremely salty. I called the store, and the gentleman told me, That’s how their gilled chicken sandwich is. Salty and no one complained but me. I was like it’s extremely salty, and his answer was like Oh only you said salty, no one complained. No sorry nothing. I asked to see if I can replace it for something else. He straight told me, no. Very disappointed. Poor ansnwer
