Great carne asada soft tacos. I must admit they were the largest and most delicious soft tacos that I have ever had. Prices were appropriate for the large and wonderful tacos. Restaurant was clean and well kept. I will be back to sample some of the other items on the menu. I totally recommend Roberto's Taco Shop to everyone.

Ordered a Breakfast Burrito and an order of Carne Asada Fries, both were very good, nice clean place, salsas were really good especially the green!

I came here with my kids on May 16. The guy working the register was super friendly and helped pick out some things for my 6 year old to try when we couldn't decide what to get. We ended up getting rolled tacos, bean burrito, fish tacos for me and a combo plate for my wife. All the food was well prepared and the kids especially loved their items. Inside was super clean and the staff was moving things around in the kitchen to scrub the walls and vents. I'm really glad we finally decided to try this place despite some negative reviews from a few years ago.

With this place around I'll never be able to kick my burrito addiction. Today I had the vegetarian burrito and it was very tasty. The tomatoes in the salsa fresca were very fresh and juicy, very red unlike some other places with their colorless/bland tomatoes. They went heavy on the guacamole as well as the other ingredients and the portions were very balanced. They have good beans and I can't complain about the carne asada burrito. The other day I had rolled tacos and they were just what you'd at any decent taco shop... Nothing to write home about. I don't understand the other reviews about high prices, they seem reasonable for the area. But as everyone else seems to be saying, the self serve salsa isn't the best but it does the job if you're looking to add a bit of spiciness to the meal.

The fish tacos are awesome. The Chile relleno, not recommended.

It's alright... nothing really special. I ordered rolled tacos for $8 and it's was mostly tortilla and very little meat. The avocado was good.

Good burritos and rellenos. The place was very clean and I absolutely wish our one in Lubbock was as good as this one is. Good parking, and aguas frescas.

The food is decent but definitely nowhere near as good as what you can get a few minutes away in the heart of Encinitas. Absolutely no atmosphere and the people who work there are stern and not too friendly. I would recommend eating somewhere else if you’re in the area.

The lady at the counter was so rude for no apparent reason. Food not bad, but not great for San Diego Mex-American. Go to a different Robertos and avoid this one if you can!

Taco was quite full with lettuce and cheese but the chicken mixture was runny and not very flavorful. They also didn't give me enough napkins and there weren't any around available in the seating area.

grew up in sd, ate carne asada growing up. not as good as it once was. the carne asada burrito was alright, but the 3 rolled tacos w guacamole had very little guac.

Here’s a list of the things that happened: -I ordered a ham and potato breakfast burrito and unfortunately didn’t check to see how much I paid. Come to find out they charged me for a potato and a ham burrito and neither of them were that good. -Also my potato burrito had ham in it. -However they do deserve 2 stars because I asked for no cheese and neither of them had cheese. -and then my friend ordered a vegetarian burrito, luckily she checked the price because they were going to charge her for her and someone else’s meal. Embarrassing. -and then I was half way done with one of my burritos when we realized her food hadn’t come yet. -my friend goes in to ask about the status of her burrito and the lady responds by picking up a tortilla to START making the burrito. Horrible. -My sister’s chicken was like a greyish-tan and tasted disgusting -on my little brother’s burrito the shredded pork was on one end and the beans were on the other end. It was impossible to get a bite with both in it.

Food wasn't all that.. it's good enough.. but service was horrible.. if dude doesn't wanna be there he should find somewhere else to go or have someone else doing that job.. never heading back.. I stopped cuz I was hungry and closes spot.. I should of kept driving

The counter service was horrible. Asked if I could try a tiny bit of their enchilada sauce and I get a very intense “No”. Umm ok? Then I asked if I could get sour cream instead of guacamole on my rolled tacos and he said “No, you will have to pay extra”. I told the guy that I have never had an issue because guac is more expensive than sour cream and he just said “I don’t care. You pay extra”. Won’t come here again. Stingy people.

Terrible service but excellent food. Place a large order for pickup (for our office) and when we got there to pick it up they had no started cooking it yet. Apparently the order was so large they needed us to pay before they started cooking but NEVER SAID THAT ON THE PHONE. They also forgot one of our items.

This place was terrible. The food was subpar, not authentic tacos. No bathrooms, and the cherry on top was the fact that this lady looked us up and down like if we were untouchable peasants. Sorry beach.

The food was good but the customer service was horrible ! The lady looked like she was bother I asked for an extra green salsa and multiple people we saying thank you and she would just straight out ignore them. One guy ahead of paid for carrots and they weren't given to him and then she asked if he paid for them .... it's one thing if it's busy and you forget, honest mistake. But it definitely was NOT busy. I was also charged an extra 1.25 for sour cream and got just barley any at the bottom of the burrito. waste of money! For 11$ I'd expect at least more then a teaspoon of sour cream. I can get a 10x better burrito at burros and fries with shrimp and rice for a dollar less ! Too bad there wasn't one near this place

Was charged $5 for a Carne asada taco that was Pretty Small... I had asked for sour cream to be added to my burrito, they charged me for it and did not add it :/ make sure that order is correct before leaving!!!

I wish I could give this place a better rating since the food was so good. But, the customer service was terrible. The lady at the counter seemed very annoyed, and when I asked for a side of sour cream, she said she would charge fifty cents. I said okay. When I got my tacos, their was no sour cream. I asked her where the sour cream was and without even apologizing she said we had to pay at least five dollars to pay with a card.

Really bad customer service the cashier was an older lady and she was mad im not sure why but I tried to ask some questions about the food and she wouldn't respond and when I finally got my food I ask for an extra sauce and she just threw it at the counter. And the food was not that good, everything is pre cooked cuz I ordered carne asada fries and it didn't even take 5 minutes. Also 11.80 for the carne asada fries. Would not recommend.

Is this even a real Roberto’s? None of the food was prepared like the other locations. Huge language barrier when ordering which made it a painfully long to just complete the order. We ordered food for pick up and when we got there 30min later they hadn’t even started on our food. There was only one other customer in the place so it wasn’t because they were busy. Food was really salty and poor quality. Stay away from this one.

Horrible customer service! I ordered a cheese quesadilla, it wasn't what I wanted, so asked if I could have another one made, I didn't ask for refund just to have another one made with just chicken and cheese, I even said I would pay for it. The guy charged me $6.75 for a cheese and chicken quesadilla!! When I asked why the menu listed quesadilla and underneath it chicken at$4.50 he says that was something else. :( seriously!!

The shop was not busy, I ordered a California burrito then a man ordered a Breakfast California burrito. So long story short the woman behind the counter just could care less about service and she gave the other guy my food and when I got home found out I got his. I will never be going back to this location.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The beans were unappealing, as they seemed to be reconstituted from dried beans and lacked flavor. The rice was also bland and underwhelming. To make matters worse, the carne asada burrito I ordered was overcooked and overly salty. Additionally, they forgot to include the promised guacamole. With so many other dining options available, I would recommend choosing a different restaurant.

I do not recommend this spot at all. Very poor customer service from the cashier and the chef. The food was not good either. Taco soggy and fellen into uncooked enchilada. Chicken Enchilada has no chicken. They won’t give you salsa if you ask. With all the good choices around here there would be no reason to ever come here.

First time eating at Robertos which is in my neighborhood. The cashier was very unfriendly and questioned why I wanted chips and salsa (hint: I'm hungry and eating at a Mexican joint). She then went into the kitchen to yell at the cook. My order, which was two tacos took 15 minutes to make. The food I had was uninteresting and bland. I won't be returning. Note to management: if you want returning customers, treat them with better service and/or great food.

The yelpers were right. They customer service of the 2 ladies who work here are non existent. The one at the register hardly knows English so ordering was difficult. When I asked for a side of eggs and one tortillas they couldn't give it to me cause they didn't know how to charge me. Their solution was charge me for a while breakfast burrito. That made no sense when they said before extra egg was $1. So that would be $2 for 2 scrabbled eggs no? They didn't want to do it. So I didn't eat. My family did. But we did get a wrong meat in one burrito. Ham and Asada sound very different but we ended up with an asada burrito instead of ham. Good was good but the whole experience really sucked!
