Very friendly loved the food i grew up here and I have been saying we are foi g to go there. Finally went and it was worth it. My husband and I will be back and will bring the whole family 😁
Our server had such positive energy and was very attentive with our whole experience. Awesome experience, wonderful dine in seating, and most importantly delicious food. Habanero sauce is legendary 🙌
Excellent people and superior service. Had a Christmas party last night and all the staff and food was on point. No delay when the food was served.... But most of all the Margaretas were the BEST.! I will come back again on my own to experience this delicious food...!
Wow, the real deal! Great chips and salsa and their omelette Marieta’s is to die for! My husband had the chilaquiles and enjoyed his food too. Excellent service as well. We will return, thank you for an amazing brunch!
Love Marietas, been my go to since 2001! The beef and chicken tacos are my favorite along with the arroz con pollo.
Friendly & attentive staff. My meal was delicious. I was there for breakfast a day after 5 de Mayo. Cook was on point, my food was well prepared. Waiter was exceptional. I would definitely go back for dinner, lunch or breakfast, anytime really. There Michelada is bomb! Highly recommended.
FIRST time at this restaurant... JUST moved here and man... I have found our FAVORITE MEXICAN RESTAURANT in this North County!!! Clean, festive, family oriented and fantastic quality food! Pricing is comparable to chain restaurants but this is better! The patrons were happy and friendly... One little beauty gave my 6yr old a hug and introduced herself. ;) We WILL be BACK! Delicioso!!! - The Homes Family!
Visiting friends in Oceanside and they wanted to take us to their favorite Mexican Restaurant. Was very busy but went out of their way to accommodate me and my group due to my disability. Great service, generous portions and delicious! Will definitely visit again when I am in the San Diego area 😋.
f you're looking for delicious Mexican cuisine, look no further than Marietas! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with friendly staff and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The menu is full of classic dishes like tacos, burritos, and enchiladas, as well as some unique items that you won't find anywhere else. The food is always fresh and made with high-quality ingredients, and the flavors are out of this world. The salsa and guacamole are particularly outstanding. Whether you're in the mood for something spicy or something sweet, there's something on the menu for everyone. But it's not just the food that makes Marietas stand out - it's the overall experience. The service is top-notch, and the restaurant is always clean and well-maintained. Overall, I would highly recommend Marietas to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Mexican cuisine. This place is a hidden gem that's definitely worth checking out. Five stars all around!
It's a great spot to meet up with my girlfriends to have a mom's or girl's night out. Good chips and salsa. They are known for their margaritas - although I didn't have any alcoholic drinks this visit. If you're a margarita fan, this is the place for you! Also, fresh tortillas made inhouse!! So good. I was in the mood for soup so I got a cup of the Albondigas and a cup of the ranchero beans. I enjoyed both with delicious corn tortillas, although I added some salt to both cups of soup to my liking. I also thought the beans lacked flavor slightly, but I was comparing them to my mother's recipe. My best guess was that it needed whole garlic cloves cooked in it, but my mother also sauteed onions and bell pepper to add flavor to her pinto beans. Anyway, not a huge deal. I've also had the carne asada torta, which was pretty good.
My family and I are from out of town, and we were staying in Oceanside. We spent some time trying to figure out where to go for Mexico food and read reviews, and looked at menus online. We decided on Marieta's and was disappointed. We would come here again.
I’ve been going here for years and never had bad service and the food has always been great to me! The drinks are next level as well! Figured they deserved a review after all these years
Great Mexican food. Great drink. Service was timely. Look forward to going again
Love this place. You have the option to eat outside or inside the restaurant. The owner is awesome along with the staff. Always smiling faces when I go there.. Their variety of Margaritas are SUPER DELICIOUS too 👌 whether it's blended or on the rocks. I enjoy their free chips and salsa while your waiting for your food. This last time I went was for their Brunch and Champagne.
I was served the best corn tortillas I have ever had in my life here. The menu looks standard, but everything down to the pickled carrots and the tortillas is made in house with love. I had the chili verde, which was just perfect. The cocktails are great, the food is perfect, the staff accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for better.
Ive been eating here since I can remember and I've never been disappointed. If they offer it on their menu it is worth buying. In the past my favorite was their lobster burrito. Although I don't believe it's been on the menu for quite some time. My new favs are chili relleno and any burrito chimichanga style smothered in red sauce. I wish I could eat here more often but just like everywhere their prices are a little high. Don't get me wrong, this place is worth the money. Thanks for serving up killer food in the deep valley for... A long time... Someone will comment with how long this place has been open. And to the cooks, keep killing it guys
I've always had a good experience here. The food reminds me of authentic Mexican food I had as a kid. The steak and cheese enchilada is sublime. If you're in a hurry don't come here because it's a relaxed restaurant. You won't have the waiter hovering over you every 5 minutes. A bit pricey but not overly. In the end, it's one of the best in Oceanside.
Lovely experience for a Sunday late dinner! My husband and I had piña coladas and a margarita and both on point, I had the Chile colorado and he had flautas- hot, flavorful and so fresh! Art work inside and ambiance was great, our server was very nice and helped us quickly! Definetly will be back :)
Food was fantastic. I had the Chile Colorado and the beef was incredibly tender. Also their corn tortillas were some of the best. Service was fantastic.
The food was good and the service was excellent! Nice clean little spot and nice outdoor area to sit in. The chips were a little harder and thicker than I like but I sure ate them! The salsa was also great.
Completely blown away every time we go here. The vibe is loud and busy so don't come here for a quiet dinner. The food is authentic Mexican food. Portions are very generous and splitting a plate for light eaters is a good option. TIP : get a side of guacamole you will never see a larger serving! You're welcome!
Nice quaint Mexican restaurant. Machaca breakfast was off the rails. Amazing flavors home-made real deal flour tortillas. I love finding gems and this place is definitely it
Excellent chips and salsa to start. I got the burrito combo (beef) and my wife got the taquitos beef). The food was tasty, the refried beans we're excellent, and the guacamole was fantastic. The service was very friendly. My wife has to eat gluten free and had no issues. They had no concerns with our (well behaved) service dog. Totally recommended.
This small restaurant is a big favorite in my book. The inside decor is festive if somewhat cheesy, but sit down and order a margarita before passing any judgement. One bite and you'll know this hidden gem is well worth the money. Often you can judge a Mexican restaurant by the chips and salsa provided before the meal has even started, and from the get go Marieta's is crushing it. The wait staff is as good as the food. I will always come here when I need some Mexican comfort foods.
My favorite Mexican food in Oceanside... when I get back to town, I make sure to go!!!!
Our true "go to" place. We come here so often they ask us where we've been if it's been a few weeks. Incredible food and service, with the best margarita's in town. Anytime we bring out of town friends there, they always want to go back whenever they visit us.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Marietta's Mexican restaurant in Oceanside, CA, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This gem offers a true taste of authentic Mexican cuisine, blending traditional flavors with a warm and inviting atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and a cozy ambiance that made us feel right at home. The decor is charming, with vibrant colors and beautiful artwork that adds to the restaurant's welcoming vibe. The menu at Marietta's is a treasure trove of classic Mexican dishes, and every item we tried was a delight. The enchiladas were perfectly seasoned, bursting with rich flavors, and generously filled. The tacos, with their tender meat and fresh toppings, were simply divine. One standout was the house-made salsa, which was so fresh and flavorful that we couldn't stop dipping our chips into it. The service was exceptional, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who made great recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was top-notch. We also appreciated the restaurant's commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients, which was evident in every bite. Marietta's Mexican restaurant is not just a place to eat; it's a culinary journey that transports you straight to the heart of Mexico. Whether you're a local or just passing through Oceanside, this restaurant is a must-visit. We left with full stomachs and big smiles, already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!
Professional service and a pleasant atmosphere. Truly enjoyable!
Small hole in the wall place. Its been there for awhile because the food is good.
Stumbled into this place and OMG!!!! The thought of the chicken mole dish is making my mouth water as I type! The gentlemen servers are super kind and attentive and informative. The decor is authentic Mexico vibes. Love this place.. love the food and I heard the margaritas hit good so I look forward to ordering that when I return!
True Mexican food! Loved the chilaquiles and margaritas! Pedro our server was very attentive, polite, and friendly. We sat in the outdoor dining area and he came by to check regularly to see if we needed anything. Homemade tortillas and flour tortillas! Great place! All the staff was great and definitely coming back! They have habanero sauce but it wasn’t that spicy for me but had good flavor! Great food and drinks overall!
Dad and I went for breakfast. Didn’t realize they had a special “Monday-Friday buy one breakfast entree, get another free” but the waiter mentioned it and we were sold. Steak and eggs for dad and I, we definitely enjoyed it and got one of them for free so no complaints here. Service was fast and food was good, they get a 4 star bc them corn tortillas are on point. You may need more salt and pepper but the breakfast deal is worth it checking it out
Wow! Can't stress about the exceptional customer service and the delicious food! We were greeted the minute we walked in. The server was quick to seat us and take our order. You definitely get a warm feeling in this restaurant. The music was wonderful and the pictures that are up for hand and hand with the atmosphere! The food was exceptional and the portions were perfect! The server was very knowledgeable with the menu and super attentive throughout our visit. I would highly recommend trying this place out! Looking forward to coming back.
Me and my boyfriend came here to eat on valentines day very last minute, I loved the experience it wasn't my first time here but it's been a while since I've last been here. Food is AMAZING and every person there was great! Everyone had nice attitudes, they were all so helpful! I liked how they help even if it's not they're table ! They did amazing!!!! And the cook makes amazing food plus the drinks !! Are yummy and they aren't sheisty with the alcohol!!!amazing !
It was 4 of us for lunch, we all liked the salsa and chips and had like a basket each of chips. I had the chili verde which I though could be spicier as it seemed like a level 1 on spicy. Everyone else enjoyed their chicken burrito plates. The burritos are small compared to those you might see at fast food mexican and just slightly bigger than enchiladas. Service was great, no complaints. Cost is on par with a sit down mexican restaurant, lunch ranged from. $19-30 including tip.
Been coming here for 20 years. Some of the best sit down Mexican food in North county. Great staff. They treat us like family. Great spot. Try the flautas A++
It looks questionable from the street, but the food was fantastic, the staff were very nice and attentive, fun and colorful inside.
Super friendly staff and the food is fantastic! Salsa was tops and I had a beef entree that was also perfect. Will come again when I’m in the area
There is a little patio outside for nice days, the bar is little with 3 TVs but the eating area is large. Food is good. I love the carnitas and fajitas. Not a whole lot of parking but check on the side and back. There is a side door to go in.
This is our extended family's go-to Mexican restaurant! 🌮🌮🌯🌯 We absolutely love it! Ivan, our server, is always so attentive and makes us feel right at home whenever we visit. The chips and salsa are super fresh, and even though we try not to spoil our appetite, we can’t resist munching on them because they’re just that delicious! It’s such a cozy and welcoming spot for a family meal. Highly recommend!
My favorite local Mexican food restaurant. They have some of the best tasting authentic Mexican dishes cooked and spiced perfectly. Cozy environment with great service. Moderately priced and large portions. Been going here for 30 years and I'll be going for 30 more. Pina coladas slaps in the summer and the albondigas is on point in the winter. Best chili Verde I've ever had. And some seriously good tequilas. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Cozy with an authentic Mexican feel. Great meal choices with liquor and beer selection. Does offer lots of weekly meal specials. Prompt and attentive staff, super quick meal delivery after ordering. Want to enjoy the outdoors? Patio seating is available with full service...
We order here last night and the food was great, taste good and everything but the price for the food I believe was too high. I ordered two fajitas plate and a small thing of dip and it all came out to be almost $58. I wasn’t expecting it be no more than maybe $45. I believe since they charge that much for the dish that they would at least give you more than two tortillas with that dish.
Food was good. My margarita was gross. I ordered mango, but it was made with a nasty super sweet mango mix. It tasted so artificial, trust me and just don't get that one. 😖 The service was good and the waiter was nice. I will go back for more food, and maybe try an original margarita next time? Lol....yes, my margaritas are important! 🤣
Nice local Mexican restaurant with killer giant margaritas! Food is always good. I love sampling from the ala carte menu. The atmosphere is rated a little low as the interior could use an update and the furniture is getting old. The food and drinks make up for it though!
Great food and service, just needs little updating.
The service is always impeccable. Just ask for what you want and it’s yours. If you want salsa habanero, no problem. Chips and salsa come automatically with carrots and onions. The food is very good if you order the Colorado or chili Verde no problem. Everything is very tasty. The margaritas however, are very expensive but absolutely delicious.
Rene, our waiter, was friendly and attentive over all staff was friendly. Our food was tasteful, the fajitas locas were yummy and big portion! I had the pescado al mojo de ajo. It was served in a deep dish that was holding a lot of oil/butter for my taste, but I asked for a separate plate, and the issue was solved. I squeezed lemon, and it was delicious! The rice was tasty and fluffy!! We'll be back whenever we return to Fallbrook!!
The huevos rancheros was good. I think next time I will try the shrimp burrito though. The food was just a little salty but decent. The service was okay. Also, the price was just a little high but will not break the bank. The salsa was red and slightly chunky with medium heat but tasty and the corn chips were crispy. I will give this place another try.
Loud crowd, poor handicap accessibility, decent food, great servers trying their best.
Just decent. Took us 15 mins to get seated and 25 mins to get our food. Got 2 tacos with rice & beans and it came about to almost $20 lowkey a lil pricey. This server didn’t have a friendly attitude when he was asking us customers who were waiting to get seated to wait & give him a second. I understand it’s busy and y’all understaffed but a good attitude will make everyone’s day including yourselves better :- )
My cheese enchiladas were cold inside, this is the second time it’s happened. The tortilla chips they brought were all crumbled like it was the end of the bag. I hope the owner is reading this because I really love the place but changes have to change.
Came with my husband for a drink. They served us chips that were super hard, almost stale. The margaritas was not good my husband got a beer. I did not feel welcomed here at all. They seemed irritated that we were not eating. They had games on at the bar, that was cool. Small cozy spot that could use some updating and a good clean.
Had not been here for awhile ... Suggested this place as a convenient place to meet friends as they passed thru the area. I recommended it as it was great when I went before. Very disappointed: my meal had no flavor, the sides of rice and beans on our combo plates were kid-meal size yet the bill for two of us was $33 pre tip. We did not order beverages, a coke or Pepsi is $4.50 (or $4.95). I think my friends were being kind with their remarks about their meals too.
Food was okay. Margaritas pretty good. Atmosphere needs some tending to. My steak fajitas were very dry. Rice and beans and chips and salsa were delicious. Tortillas were yummy. Staff is awesome.
I really have enjoyed this place in the past when I came, but when I came in around 12pm July 6 I was looking forward to the menudo and when I received it as I’m eating it there was still pork hair on the menudo so it wasn’t properly cleaned and Marietas is my go to for menudo because they do typically clean their meat properly and if you zoom in on the photo you can see the hair I pulled out and the piece on the side of the bowl is where it was and it still had hair. Then it got worse…I found a CATERPILLAR in my food! And to top it off the what I believe was the manager came to my table and insulted my intelligence by gaslighting me into trying to believe it was “grease from the meat” as he crumbled it right in my face…you can CLEARLY see it was a caterpillar. I’m more disappointed in his dishonesty and insult when I saw with my eyes the mouth and legs of the caterpillar.
I had the chili relleno...I could tell it was from frozen. For the price it should've been fresh. waited 45 minutes to give it drink orders, then our server took off before we could give our dinner order. we ate outside, that was really nice weather.
Very disappointed. I was expecting good flavor to their food but, there is nothing "fine" about it. Definitely not worth the money. It's extremely bland and they package the to-go orders very poorly. By the time you start eating your food, your tortillas are soggy and covered in refried bean soup. The staff, however, is extremely pleasant which is the only reason I gave them 2 stars.
Everyone I work with loves this place, so we decided to give it a shot. I ordered carne asada, and my wife ordered chicken fajitas. Neither of us enjoyed our meals. She didn't like the fajitas because the chicken was boiled, and the vegetables were soft and seemed like they were boiled with the chicken. The carne asada wasn't any better. We eat a lot of different Mexican restaurants, and there's no way we'd return here for the food. The servers were great, though, and it seems like they have a nice setup to have a drink and watch a game.
The service was not good. Our waitress sat us down, but we had to go look for her to take our order, meanwhile the people behind us was seated and their order was taken. Furthermore the prices are very high. The menu nickel and dime you on most orders. Off the "combination section". Two enchiladas with rice & beans, $17.50. That's with cheese. Chicken or beef is $1.00 extra, each. With fish $2.50 each!. Add guacamole $6.00.
Had to send back. Beans tasted like bacon, lard overkill, Chili Rejenos had such a small piece of chili that I had to look for it. Last of all, the chips were overcooked. Not light and chrispy, but brown, burnt, and hard. Salsa bland. We're new to the area and were looking for a great Mexican food place. The Margaritas must make their food taste better because everyone there that afternoon had huge drinks and there are always cars in the parking lot. The waiter was nice. Anyone have a Great Mexican restaurant to recommend?
Service was absolutly superb, that was definitely the saving grace. Food was not fresh. Margaritas were from a pre-made mix, not fresh. Corn was canned (and it took up at least 1/3 of my plate). Atmosphere was fun and we enjoyed the decor, but would not return.
The food is fantastic every time. The customer service is terrible. The waiters are never around. They barely check on you. Getting your check is impossible. When you go to look for your waiter, which you should NOT have to.... They are nowhere. I'm not sure why this is acceptable to the owner. Poor experience. They are lucky my daughter likes their beans and rice....
It was extremely noisy. Little kids were running amok and disturbing other diners, while the parents were drinking and being loud themselves. Nobody did anything to rein them in. Service was really slow. Ended up getting our orders to go due to slow service and obnoxious kids. The kids were wearing team jerseys with the restaurant listed as a sponsor. Food was cold by the time it showed up. I debated posting a review because that was the first and last time I'd be visiting this restaurant due to travel. The owners need to be aware of how off putting the experience was to possibly correct this in the future.
So disappointing! I was excited to try this place. I got takeout and my bill was $60 for my family of 5. The staff were nice and I was able to use a $10 off coupon. However, the food was awful. The red enchilada sauce tasted like spaghettios sauce in the can. The pork chili verde is sweet. Everything else including the taco and rice was pretty bland. The only thing that was decent were the chips and salsa and refried beans. Nobody in my family liked their food. At that price, I will not be back. I can get way better food for half the price at Deibertos.
The food was really bad. We ordered a carne asada plate that came with cheese enchiladas and the sauce tasted like from a can… zero flavor. The carne asada was okay but nothing especial . Their salsa has no seasoning, i asked for a spicy 🌶️ salsa and they offered me habanero from a bottle, which never came. They gave us carrots as a side salsa and it had no taste . Our second plate was a shrimp 🍤 enchilada and it was horrible 😣!! We paid $75 for 2 people plus tip!! For the quality i recommend Eriberto or albertos tacos !! For the quality that we got i will accept from these fast places. As a hispanic you get better quality at pollo loco and better price !! Please … please dont call this place “ fine Mexican restaurant “ because its not !!
I do not normally write food reviews, however this has got to be the worst restaurant I’ve ever eaten at, and I do not say that lightly. The food came out super quick, and after tasting it I can see why. My corn was bland, as if seasoning had just been omitted from the entire dish. I had crab burritos and it was extremely fishy, as if the meat was old. My sour cream on top tasted old as well. My wife had beef tacos, and as she bit into the beef water began to drip out of the taco. Her enchilada sauce was similar to spaghetti sauce, but even spaghetti sauce has more flavor. There was again no seasoning or spice. We had ordered a side of queso, and I’m almost certain it came from a Tostitos jar. It was not the consistency of real cheese and was definitely artificial. I’ve never in my life not attempted to get a few bites in, even if I didn’t like it, but I took one bite of everything and let them take the whole plate back. “Boxes?” The waiter asked us. No, no I will not be needing a box.
