We stumbled upon Vista Del Mar completely by chance, and it ended up being an incredible surprise. Honestly, the fried oysters were some of the best we’ve ever had—lightly fried to perfection, crisp on the outside while staying incredibly fresh and tender on the inside. You could really taste the quality. Everything about the dish was spot on. We weren’t expecting much, but this place truly delivered. Small bar with great food and drinks. Must be 21 to enter. Calamari, clam chowder, firecracker shrimp, shrimp po-boy, and sweat potato fries. Everything was fresh, hot, and perfect with flavor and crunch.

Some seriously good food. I had the turkey Cubano and it was so damn good. I saw many items coming out of the kitchen that made my mouth water. Good beer selection and cool vibe tucked behind old downtown eureka. I will definitely be coming back to try it all.

Just turned 21 so i really appreciate friendly bar vibes, the two bartenders/hostesses were very sweet and were even interested in the card tricks my girlfriend had been practicing. We went there for drinks and a bite and a chill place to play table games. The drinks were yummy and strong, I got a malibu+pineapple(panicked) and a sex on the beach(first time!), my friend got two dark and stormy(they were strong!). I was blown away by their nachos(with shredded cheese!!!) very good. We got shrimp and chips (bomb and crispy). We also got fried oysters cause we were feeling guts. These oysters were huge! And texturally not for us.. a table pass.

Great food and friendly staff. Nothing like a plate of deep fried Oreos to set you straight. Firecracker shrimp are the best! Great selection of beers on tap. Clam chowder is amazing as well.

You guys! We needed Linner before our 2 hour drive to Whitethorn, having trouble picking a place I was like let’s just go here. Such a great idea. I feel like this is a locals hang. Maddie was great, friendly and quick. Calamari was crispy, the sauce was bomb! Fish & Chips- they did the classic perfectly. The sweet potato tots are a sleeper here, I feel like they are made in house and dear lord so good. Shrimp po-boy - hubs really like it. Big ole battered prawns on a soft toasty bun. Sweet potato fries were perfect. We both had their honey mustard to dip our fries and tots in. Dang yall! I think they may home make all their sauces including tarter and ranch. Def pop in here!

I kept looking for new places to eat and this spot kept popping up with great reviews so we went and yes it's a bar but there are tables away from the bar and the bartenders are pretty attentive to all the customers even the table top ones. Their jalapeño poppers are the best just look at that photo! Not the tiny store bought box kind (which I still eat). Battered mushrooms were also good. Everything we've had from there has been great, spicy chicken quesadilla, fire cracker shrimp, smoked beef brisket sandwich. They have TV's for sports games, shuffle board and a pool table. A great find for sure.

I tried this place out on a local lady's recommendation. The bar area was exactly that - a bar, but in the back are tables and a shuffleboard (free to play! Yay!) I had the fish and chips (fresh and fried just right, came with a delicious cocktail sauce, tartar sauce and ranch dressing), Caesar salad (big slices of parm in there), and huge Firecracker shrimp (with an amazing crust and fresh, fruity salsa). The servers were attentive and sweet. The prices were very reasonable. I'd definitely go here again.

Great food drinks and people watching. Tucked away in a light industrial park all by itself. Great burgers - fish chips - shrimp chips - clam chowder - chili - Poppers were amazing a must order. Quentin took great care of us.

Great service! Had the shrimp and fries. Shrimp were good. Didn't care for the fries. Potato skins were loaded and good. Went during the lunch hour and while it was packed didn't take long for the food to come out. There were 6 in my party.

We were recently passing through Eureka, CA on our northern California vacation. My wife did a search online for a lunch spot and found the Vista Del Mar. From the name, we pictured a nice waterfront restaurant with an outdoor patio overlooking the water. The actual setting is a little more basic: it's in a fairly "industrial" area near the docks and is a basic white building. The sign in the window saying "No One Under 21" was a clue that this was not what I imagined. Rather, it was a bar that offered more than just bar food. Even though I am not a bar guy, I am glad we stayed because, as it turns out, they offer really good food! Considering that the bartender was the server and the place was packed for lunch, service was good. My wife had grilled fish tacos and I had fried oysters with a side salad. I don't know if they source these from nearby docks, but the oysters were fresh, juicy, and delicious! It was one of the best meals we had on our trip! If I ever find myself in Eureka again, I would not hesitate to have lunch here again!

As a recommendation from some locals at the Humboldt Cider Tap House, we checked this place out. They did have good options on tap and we had a side of fries with Buffalo Sauce. I did see the salads on the menu and would have gone in that direction if this is where we we going to have dinner. We have been to Eureka 3 times since 2017 and this was a first for us. I do hope to come back and try more yummy food from this location. They are also a rare place in town to be open on a Monday or Tuesday, so if you're looking for some good food, beer, cider or mixed drinks... check this place out.

We came here today, waited eighteen minutes with no acknowledgement from the server. She, the bartender/server said she was having a bad day, but walked away, helped other customers,and she wouldn't even take our order. I think this is a worse service.I've had in the last five years.
