L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

This L&L always has me stopping in when I crave a little taste of home. Been going for years. Value is good, food is good, owner is friendly. I'll keep patronizing the place as long as they keep up this level of quality.

My friend brought me here after she had previously lived in Hawaii. Said I must try it. Food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The place was not beautiful but I think most people who go here get take-out. Staff was friendly and fast. If you want some great Hawaiian food you should try it.

All the food is amazing. A surprising item, the burgers and fries are the best. Hottest combo I have ever had. Spam masubi is awesome. The only complaints are that the soda fountain is too fizzy and the order taker sometimes is talking on the phone, so it is challenging to tell when she is ready to take your order.

If your here to read about foods other than the fries, probably don't read this. BUT if you are here to talk fries, read this. The fries were absolutely exceptional. They had a perfect balance of crispiness on the outside and a soft, tender interior that melted in your mouth with each bite. Served hot, they were an irresistible treat. Simply grab a salt packet, sprinkle a little on top, and you have some of the world’s best fries. While I’m not entirely sure about the quality of the other food, the fries alone made the visit worthwhile.

If you like Hardin bbq then here you can catch a good and delicious bite . They even have a pork fish lau lau.

The food was good and they listened to my substitution requests and made recommendations. The only negative was the bathroom needed a deep cleaning as you could see dirt embedded on the walls and floor.

Food at L&L is always good w large portions. The place needs some TLC. Chairs had tears in them w tape repairs.

Friendly and always reliable. Tasty food that always is filling and makes people smile. Not ideal if you are in a hurry. Great otherwise.

Not the best L & L. I will preface this by saying that I have been to at least 10 other L & L locations in Northern and Southern California. None of them are the best Hawaiian food, but usually 3-4 stars consistent. This one is on the lower end of the scale. The BBQ chicken was over cooked, and they didn't use enough sauce. Also they charge for extra sauce which not all L&L's do. I had the Katsu Curry which was pretty good actually with a nice crunch and golden brown crust. This store is in a convenient location close to the freeway and for a cheap lunch does the job.

Went there today, July 5th. The food is good, but the older woman that was working is rude as hell! No hello, no thank yous. Never going back.

Called in and asked for a couple things several different times for my orders and they didn’t do what I had asked. I also called in to ask a question for DoorDash and was hung up on

Chicken Katsu was alright as was the rice and macroni salad. The musubi could have been better.

Food is great but service is lacking. They are extremely rude about sauces and tried to upsell me unless I had cash. I asked for 3 Sriracha packets for my plate and she refused. She gave me one.

Ordered 3 party trays here. BBQ chicken, kalbi ribs and macaroni salad. They were very bland and did not have a good amount of food.

This place smells dirty!!! As soon as you walk in, you’ll smell it. And the food wasn’t goid either.. I ordered the loco moco. The meat tasted really bad. You can tell the meat was not freshly cooked. It was just reheated and it is a very low quality type of meat. Even the gravy did not taste good at all. And when I lifted the top patty, there were some pieces of mushy rice in between the patties, so I don’t know if they were left over from another plate order or what. Anyway, since I was so hungry, I ate the fried egg, but that’s about it I dumped the rest of the food away! I will never go back to this place again!

Very hot day, 98 degrees to be exact. Showed up to L&L and the front door was wide open with a bedroom, stand up fan blowing the hot, kitchen air out. The restaurant was empty, but we thought we would give it a try anyways considering that I had been warned this restaurant never uses the AC. Bad idea! As soon as we walked in, it felt like an inferno! It was hotter inside than outside. The lady running the register was sitting on the counter eating some food. I asked her why it was so hot in there and well as why they don't turn the AC on and she told me they don't use it because they use the fan and pointed to the stand up fan. Needless to say we turned around and walked out. If they are too cheap to keep their restaurant cool and comfortable for their customers, then who knows what other money saving short cuts they are using with their food.

Although the food was good. I ordered through DoorDash a BBQ Chicken Masubi ($9.99) but received Hawaiian BBQ Chicken instead ($8.50). When i tried to call to inform them of the error, they were already closed. No way to get my $1.49 now or swap them food so I am leaving this review instead.

They don't use their AC! Today is 103 degress and went inside to eat to find the front door open with a stand up fan trying to circulate the hot smoky air. Apparently from the other reviews, this is what they do daily! To cheap to use the AC. Stay away from this place. Food taste old and the workers were eating while cooking. Never saw them wash their hands or wear gloves!!!

Came at 7:45.. 15 minutes before closing, and we were turned away.. seconds after we had walked away, the L&L staff turned away a pregnant customer. If you are going to close 15 minutes before 8, then dont advertise online saying you're open until 8.. Won't be coming back to this location anytime soon.

Never ordering again from this place. Ordered 6 plates of loco moco and it was awful, eggs was over cooked (burnt) and the beef patties were hard and rubbery, you can tell they were frozen and just burnt On the grill. Bought $113 worth of food.

Whoever was cooking today on 11/17 @1030-1100am time. Your skills suck a--! Loco Moco was not what I expected. Dry meat, bland taste. Kalua pork meat was also a miss. Wasn't as shredded as supposed to be. Lousy LnL in this area.

Have been to this restaurant twice and both times did not like it. I love L&L and wanted to give this place a second time but it didn’t work. Food did not taste fresh. I live nearby and its unfortunate that I cant get my Hawaiian fix here.

Purchased Katsu chicken it was not fresh I go to tell the manager & she argues me down about how she sells 100’s if plates everyday & no one complains... well today was different I was not satisfied & had a complaint & wanted my money back she says I’m only giving you half... okay thats fine she obviously needs the money more than I do that’s why she had 0 customers besides me cuz the food was TRASH & the owner was RUDE & INCONSIDERATE!!! 👎🏾

this was the worst hawaian bbq place i went to the food was good but there price was way over charged i bought same food from same resturant in sacramento for only 14 dollars here they charged me 22 dollars n i buyed a drink from there which was a small fountain drink for 2.75 better go to gas station for drinks..lol...but either way i called the lady to order my food she was like oh u got the wrong number this one not in fairfield its by costco of course i knew that so heads up people when you go there keep in mind of the prices they charge

Family and I all got food poisoning from this place. They aren't storing food properly . I highly don't recommend this place.

The lady who took care of us was great girl super nice and attentive, but the food is just disgusting I mean you can eat it if you are hungry enough like I was after a day at six flags but it just tastes so bad, it's so greasy and it looks like out of the microwave after three days under the sun do not recommend

She rang me up and said she forgot to ring me up for the sodas. She then said she voided my whole order, which was a lie, and tried to charge me for the drinks and the food again. I never eat here again. She's the rude older asian lady
