My wife booked this resort for the last few days of 2025. It was our first time in Vermont. In the hotel lobby, there was a complimentary bookshelf with both books and board games. Alongside the bookshelves there was a large, sturdy table replete with chairs (ideal for playing board games). Juxtaposed with the reading/games section was a sweet fireplace and comfortable seats with cushions. We are a family of ice skaters (parents plus a boy and girl). Our cozy hotel room looked out onto a massive lake. The lake was frozen for our entire visit. It was feasible for us to exit the hotel through the swimming pool area and walk just a few feet in order to access the lake. We all brought our own ice skates and had the entire lake to ourselves! We also brought our own sleds. The outdoor grounds were covered with snow. It snowed a little every day during our stay. We found a fabulous sledding spot with some fairly steep hills a short distance from the hotel. Once again, the four of us had that place to ourselves…every time. It was fun. My children loved it. What stood out for me even more than the free skating and sledding resources were the housekeeping staff. Tiffany, Donna and Missy were genuinely attentive and extremely polite. Our happiness mattered to them. They were American workers with the same pro American values I upheld back when I was a hotel employee. While servicing the rooms, the housekeepers weren’t blasting music in another language and shouting to each other in another language as I’ve recently seen in so many hotels. We felt WELCOME! The hotel is very close to New Hampshire. We also visited that friendly state on our trip.
The Lake Morey Resort was absolutely the best hotel / resort I’ve ever stayed in so far. I will start that it may seem a little dated inside and out but the accommodations and the service were amazing. Greeted by the lovely ladies upfront and then given a map of the resort and restaurants near, we made our way to our terrace bedroom which had the most stunning view of the lake. This resort is also seated right next to some amazing food locations and even has an in house bar and restaurant of its own. An indoor heated pool area with some decent privacy, a quaint little gym, and even a propane operated sauna that can fit 2-3 individuals each. My gf and I absolutely loved our stay and are friend did too. I know if I’m in the Fairlee area again I have no doubt of which hotel I’ll pick to stay in.
We visited Lake Morey Resort during February break with our 2 daughters aged 7 and 10. We enjoyed our stay immensely! The food was delicious. The kids were entertained all day. They swam, ice skated, snow shoed, played ping pong, colored, played board games, had s’mores at a camp fire, and enjoyed a movie in the theater. My hard to please 10 year old asked if we could come back every February break. It was a five star gem for this family from Albany, NY.
Family welcoming resort.... excellent service, thoughtfully chosen & prepared buffet dishes that everyone will enjoy. The lake provides everlasting memories whether you skate or simply enjoy the view.
There are very few places that I return to, year after year, but this is one of them, great in any season. I love it so much, I considered moving there. But being able to ice-skate, on the lake, in winter, is something really magical and special. The resort is great, the food, the service, it's an authentic, family-run place, with lots to do nearby, and give you an amazing experience in VT.
Lake Morey was truly the dream wedding destination. When my husband and I began searching for a venue, we hoped to find a place that offered a beautiful setting and the feeling of a weekend getaway. Lake Morey delivered all of that and more. Our ceremony on the Denslow Lawn was absolutely stunning, and the cocktail hour in the Mapleview Gardens was the perfect continuation of the day. Bonnie, the wedding coordinator, was an incredible part of our experience. She was organized, responsive, and genuinely helpful every step of the way. Her knowledge of the venue and local vendors made planning so much easier, and she often stepped in to communicate with vendors directly, answering questions we wouldn’t have known how to handle on our own. On the wedding day itself, she checked in with us multiple times to make sure everything was running smoothly — and it truly did. Overall, Lake Morey exceeded every expectation we had. It was the perfect place to begin this new chapter, and we’re already planning to return in the future because it holds such a special place in our hearts.
Nice rooms. Great for meetings. Able to accommodate food allergies.
Beautiful place. Rooms a little outdated. Dinner was amazing but breakfast was not very good even with a bunch of options.
Really beautiful property. Great staff, Ballroom sound surprisingly good for sound reinforcement.
I was a visitor to the 4-Star Lake Morey Resort but didn’t yet get a tour of the interiors/only saw social media photos. This is my review of the exterior amenities experienced while at the Lake Morey Resort. We visited the Lake Morey Summer Concert Series, where I enjoyed wine at the Resort Clubhouse, the Lake Morey Resort Pizza Hearth special events pop-up and enjoyed a Kaleo Concert. The grounds of the Lake Morey Resort are like stepping in to the original set of the Land of Oz. The lush landscape, beautiful views, serene green mountains and gorgeous lit trees made my Lake Morey experience gorgeous and unforgettable. Guests come to stay at the resort for the 18-hole Vermont Open golf course, the athletic ice skating, the snow shoe hikes, trail sledding and proximity to skiing. When the conditions are right, you can ice skate on a half-mile loop, a longer 2.5 mile – or more - ice trail or stay in the local ice rink sectioned-out on the lake. I haven’t tried ice skating here yet but get that you show up in the morning and experience the thrill, unsure of exactly how conditions will be other than that they are safe. Just like snow skiing/boarding. Visitors can rent ice skates and resort guests are also offered complimentary snow shoes for hikes. The resort is within an hour from 6 ski resorts. From the Lake Morey resort, you can access ample snow trails for snowmobiling. There is a whole network of clubs and chapters to consult for trails open, etc. but you can start right from the resort if you bring a sled. Does that mean bring your own snowmobile or sled? I have no idea but am guessing it needs a motor! Day passes for the resort - good for warm weather - are available for adults and kids. You can do pontoon boat tours and charters, visit their indoor pool and sauna, canoe, kayak or paddleboard. You can also charter inner tubes, waterskis and wakeboards. We experienced the VT and NH Food Truck Scene in a garden on the grounds at the Lake Morey Resort Concert Series with Icelandic blues rock group Kaleo. Visit @lakemoreyresort @officialkaleo for photos. At the Lake Morey Resort Clubhouse I enjoyed tasting an organic wine in a can from Navarro, Spain by Ah So Wines. This vintner uses a 100-year-old garnacha vine clone from the Pyrenese Mountains. It was more dry than smooth and would have been lovely with a cheese and bread plate. But, alas, it was closing time and hot dogs were only available. :) @ahsowines These are the Vermont and New Hampshire social media handles of the awesome food trucks that participated. @loadedtotz22 Loaded Tots puts everything, including poutine, on tater tots. The Box Food Truck @theboxfoodtruck is from Dartmouth College and offers standard Mexican fare and more unique options including California Burritos and Mulitas (smaller quesadillas). San Song Kitchens @san_song_kitchens offers bibimbap, fried chicken and a kimchee sampler. The Vermont Ice Palace @thevermonticepalace offers dairy-free delights of gourmet sorbetto flavors including maple. The Spicy Spoke @the_spicy_spoke offers a selection of noodle bowls plus meatballs, burrata, Mediterranean and tacos. Reklis Brewing @reklisbrewing had tacos and pretzels. Ten Bends Beer @tenbendsbeer was the draft beer available at multiple tikis along the concert-goer’s trail. One vendor offered Greek fare and probably had the best selection of wine and beer. Red Kite Candy makes its delicious over cream in Bradford, VT but you can only get it in Hanover on the Dartmouth campus. Watch Jenny Blanco Tours S5 Ep7 for all of the footage.
I can’t recommend Lake Morey highly enough, 10/10 experience! My new husband and I got married at Lake Morey Resort on 9/13/2025 and had the best experience with Lake Morey resort. Truly the best decision we made while wedding planning! From the very beginning, Bonnie and her team were attentive, professional, and extremely caring. This was especially true the weekend of our wedding! Everything from the day of coordination and decor set-up to the ceremony rehearsal and cocktail hour were perfect. We placed a lot of confidence in the Lake Morey Resort team and they did not disappoint. Extra special shout out to Bonnie for all of her amazing work, we really can’t thank her enough for all that she did for us. Outside of the fantastic staff, the resort is BEAUTIFUL, the view is stunning, the food was amazing, the activities were engaging, and the accommodations were highly praised by our guests. All in all, we had such a great experience with Lake Morey Resort and they helped us achieve our dream wedding. Look no further than Lake Morey Resort for the ultimate VT wedding venue, it doesn’t get much better than this!
I arrived late for my tee time and the course was fully booked. The starter brought me out to the 10th hole and gave me his cart and I played the back 9 Best service at any course I have been to!
Saw the Record company here....for FREE....one of the best shows ever. My fish burrito was great, 2 meals it was so huge.
This is a wonderful location right on the lake. They host a summer concert series every Thursday in the summer and it’s a great free event. Many food trucks and vendors, drinks, games and fun. They have fire pits set out and the concert is held on the golf course. I would highly recommend checking it out.
We are on a 16 ladies golf trip and this resort is perfect. Easy on and off the highway for us. The course was unique and challenging for me. I usually walk pushing a cart but after the front 9, I switched to a riding drive cart. Riding in a cart is better for me and I recommend considering that. Meals and breakfast buffet is great. Service is outstanding... friendly & respectful. People I spoke with have been coming for back years. It's a comfortable place with nice accommodating rooms. I WILL be back! Totally recommend!
My mom, sisters and I enjoyed a long weekend here in mid-February. The rooms were very clean and the staff were all kind and helpful. While we left our young kids at home for a girls trip, we'd love to return with them, because Lake Morey Resort has a welcoming family-friendly atmosphere, and the kids would love the activities like the scavenge hunt, trivia night, carriage ride, and movies in the theater room, not to mention the ice skating! We ate lunch and dinner at the resort and the food was terrific. We loved sitting at the tables in the lounge overlooking the lake and playing games or reading. The view of the water is lovely. The only downside I experienced was was the strong chlorine smell in the pool room, like it is time for the water to be replaced. We enjoyed the sauna though. Overall a great place to stay!
Had a lovely family trip this week! It is a rustic, unpretentious, and modest resort in a very scenic location right on this beautiful lake. The rooms were clean and spacious. We loved how casual it was. Our favorite activities included the nightly s’mores station, paddle boarding and kayaking (rental equipment very conveniently located), the 5pm pontoon boat tour, and water skiiing. Great for a laid-back trip with kids!
We were traveling throughout New England and this was a great stop for a couple nights. Located right off the highway on a beautiful lake. We enjoyed the lounge...great service. Nice buffet breakfast with lots to choose from at a reasonable price. The rooms are a little dated and could use a few updates. Overall a nice, peaceful stay with lots to offer.
Beautiful outdoor concert venue in the summer, great sound, great lights. The parking was a little hectic but it worked out. Expensive drinks but the concert was free so it's hard to complain Bring a chair and a blanket!
First time here and the lake is something special. The facility has done a decent job keeping up over the years. The food was average at best so it might be best to make reservations off site. The thing that makes this place really special (besides the lake of course) is the free concert series in the summer. High profile bands for free, within a 2 min walk to the hotel. Fun stop for sure.
I went there to have dinner with my family on a Sunday night. The dining room was not busy. There might have been six tables filled with diners. Are waitress seemed more interested in flirting with a bunch of guys that had come in, then checking to see how we were, refilling our Waters, and even getting us our check. We waited 20 minutes to get our check after asking for it. The meal was mediocre at best. The rice was dry, carrots were undercooked, and almost Raw, and the haddock was overcooked. It was quite a hefty bill for a mediocre meal.
Service workers were wonderful and friendly, the location was gorgeous, and I had a great time! However, the room had quite a few problems. The hairdryer didn't work, the toilet barely flushed, the bed felt similar to an air mattress, and the bathroom door didn't close. 😅 i wish i could have given it a higher review, the room and the view were very pretty! Just not quite functional.
Check out the Lake, but not the ‘resort’. Benches available to lace up. Pond hockey goals are on the ice. Parking in the lots or along the street. For those of you who can’t skate, try a kicksled / Kickspark Max rental from across the street. These are amazing Norwegian products.
This place is horrible! We came on a bus tour, so it wasn't our choice. First room had an overwhelming odor in it that burned our eyes and gave me a headache. We opened the windows, but it did little to lessen the smell. We went to dinner, hoping when we came back it would be better. It wasn't. We asked to be moved to another room. They did. This room didn't smell but it was filthy. Mold on the curtains(both rooms), mold in the tub, dirty throw rug, and the mattresses looked like they were 50 years old. Sleeping on them was horrible! This place needs a serious top to bottom renovation. The carpeting in the hallway is especially awful. It looks like it has been here since the 1980s. I have pictures of all this, but it doesn't let me post them. I'm glad we had only one night here. I'll never go on another bus tour that includes this "resort."
I attended a wedding here in August of 2025. I had offered to help the bride and groom set up the room the night before the wedding. We were not assisted by the wedding coordinator at all and was told that it was our job to place all the center pieces, turn on any tea lights, cut and serve the cake/the cookies we brought, place our own welcome signs ect. We were not assisted by the venue in ANY of this and for a place this expensive I would expect to have more help. On top of this the Bride explicitly had her reception in a room with an accessible bathroom and had requested access to a sensory friendly space in case guest needed a break. This bathroom was not accessible as the wheel chair could not fit in it and so they had to go to the other side of the resort, through the dinning room of the restaurant and up the elevator to use the bathroom. The sensory friendly room was not accessible either but we were told they had a ramp they could place down. They did not place the ramp down until we complained to the front desk twice and this "ramp" was a small wedge of wood that could easily be kicked out of place on accident. Multiple of the staff were rude and unprofessional, the bartenders failed to know how to make basic cocktails, the venue was over priced, the ceremony space is less than ideal as if it is summer time you might have someone climbing out of the lake and picking a wedgie behind you as you say I do. I would not hold my wedding here and would encourage people to go somewhere else. You can find cheaper water front venues with better services for less money.
This is my third year coming hear for a group golf trip. This is my first review. The one star is one star to many. This year the food they served was disgusting. I can't find a kind way to say it. I tried a few bites oh everything hoping to find something that tasted good. It was unbelievably bad. You would have to go out of your way to make food so bad. I woke up still thinking about how bad the food was. When i check out I'm asking for a refund of the meals party of my trip and i will not come back next year if my group requires us to pay for the food. I haven't asked about that yet. Other than the food it was a very enjoyable trip, nice golf course, nice rooms and kind staff. But the food was so very very bad.
