Alexander’s is a really great restaurant on the lake. We came up to taste some samples for wedding catering and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They have great indoor and outdoor seating so there’s something for everyone. Try the sautéed vegetables as a side. They have a lot of seasoning and flavor.
Had a great experience, even in the winter we were able to sit on the patio with a fire and heaters! Also can't rave enough about the gluten free accommodations!! It was honestly one of the easiest dining experiences I've had with a gluten intolerance!
Basic bar menu with decent selection, something for everyone for sure. Incredibly friendly staff every time we've been there. Deck overlooking the lake makes for a lovely relaxing dinner on a nice day.
Loved it! In truth we initially went there because it was late and no place was open. Although, my husband had read the reviews and wanted to try it anyway. We ordered the tuna and salmon. Both were superb! Our waitress was very nice and helpful! We ate outside on the patio by the water. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience! Would highly recommend!
My family stopped for lunch and a break mid-road trip. Food was FANTASTIC with big portion sizes and bigger flavor; in particular, the BBQ pulled pork mac-n-cheese is to die for! Service was quick, proactive, and upbeat. Thank you, Alexander's! We'll definitely be back!
Wow! Went in for a gluten free meal and was pleasantly surprised with the options available. I decided on a cauliflower crust pizza and was beyond satisfied. I will be back for the buffalo Mac n cheese!! Thank you!
The food was amazing. Our server Ryann was was very attentive to us and made the dinner a fantastic experience. She also makes the best rum buckets!
I love the personal pizza and the garlic knots. The new pizza oven does a great job. I get this combo almost every time I go. The staff does a great job in making my experience worth it every time. 5 Stars all day long!!!
Our server, Melissa, was absolutely fabulous. We visited while staying on the lake for a vacation and she made us feel like regulars. Food was great, had a lovely view of the lake. Totally a must visit in this area!
Great food!!! Service by Jade was excellent for a full house. She did a great job but she could have used some help.
Gluten and soy-free diner here. My wife, stepson, and I had dinner at Alexander's this evening, and we had a great meal! I knew that they had several gluten-free options on their menu, but I needed to ask our server, Mimi, if their cheese contained soy because I wanted to try the Findley Lake Stacker. She checked with their chef, and he confirmed that their cheese did contain soy. Therefore, I just ordered the Finley Lake Stacker without any cheese on a gluten-free bun, and the double Angus burger was cooked to perfection! Thank you once again Mimi, for checking with the chef, and we will be back, sooner rather than later!
With a big group of 13 on a Saturday evening, we were able to get seated on the patio to relax and eat a great meal, overlooking the lake. Our server, Melissa, did an excellent job with us and the many kids we had in our party. Food was quick and delicious!!! I highly recommend this place!
Love this spot. Right next to the lake, staff is super polite and helpful, and the food is great. Highly recommend.
I love chicken wings, but more specifically the sauces. This place has one of the best I’ve had. They call it Mount Rushmore. It’s got a little heat and a lot of flavor. It’s not as hot as I normally go for but any hotter and you’d lose something with this one. So tasty that I had to ask for extra to take home. I don’t live in the area but I’ll be back the next time I’m through.
This is a great little place with a nice view of the lake from the patio. Service is friendly, prices are good and they have a nice menu of sandwiches, burgers and salads, plus delicious loaded mac and cheese. It's close to Peak n Peek, and only 20 minutes from Chautauqua. Definitely with a stop! And take a few minutes to check out the shops in town while you're there. Really cute place.
Good service, good food, nice local place. Busy when we got there for lunch on a Sunday, took half hour for food to come out but made to order so no complaints.
This place was magnificent. Their mac and cheese with bacon was incredible. I don’t leave reviews and HAD to because it was so good. Eat here.
I can't rate this place highly enough! My husband has a gluten sensitivity, and they not only have a variety of gluten free food, the chef has celiac disease and takes allergy protocols very seriously. It has given us the ability to have date night again which means the world to us. On top of that the food is tasty. Especially the Mac and cheese.😊
Great Place, friendly, clean and excellent food!
Love this place! If they found a way to bring back the bottomless mimosa brunch we'd be there every weekend. Everytime we've gone the whole staff goes above and beyond to make sure we are happy and comfortable. Love the events they are bringing to the community and their work with the local library. The porch over looking the lake provides the best ambiance in the area. Perfect spot for a date night or a family dinner.
I ate at Alexander’s on June 6th, and had an AMAZING experience. Memi, Melissa, and Molly were terrific. Ryann was OUTSTANDING, made the entire table laugh and have a fantastic evening. I would come back just for her again. I will definitely be dining her again, and bringing my family with me again. The fish bowls are outstanding !
Awesome food, Awesome view, Awesome vibe! So glad we came here on a recommendation! All the food looked fantastic! We had the Steak & Cheese and the Turkey reuben, loved it!
Ericka was an amazing waitress! She took care of every need before we even had to ask. She had great suggestions for our meals and refilled our drinks before we even asked. Ericka did a great job. She deserves a raise to continue working for you as she clearly is your best waitress.
A gem on Findley Lake! Checked this place out on a whim and glad that I did. The food was darn good (Findley Lake Nachos were killer), service was great, draft selection was slightly lacking but nothing bad, and of course the atmosphere is awesome. Make sure to check this place out!
Great little spot, close to Peek 'n Peak, with friendly and helpful service. We called in for a table around 6:30pm for 8 of us and they were able to set us up with a table. We had 4 kids with us, which some of you may know is an adventure. After snowtubing for a few hours, the kids were hungry and tired, and let's face it, so were we. Well, our server Ericka was perfect for the job. She interacted with the kids, was funny and helpful and friendly. It's exactly what we needed. Turns out they have a lot of GLUTEN FREE options available, which was also very good for our crew. The place was comfortable and we felt like we could safely socially distance while dining there. It was also clean. Thank you, Ericka and Alexanders for a fun end to our night! We'll be back!
The place is great. Our waitress explained the food and took her time. The potato crusted fish was amazing. The burger was big and juicy. The fries were nice and crisp, plus hot. For a quick meal and reasonable price. I would drive the 7 hours to get another meal. The only thing bad, they had Pepsi instead of Coke.
Stopped in for lunch on Mothers' Day, sat on the patio. Burgers, tenders, and a pasta dish, add in the Rum Runner and a steak quesadila! Yum! Service was great, friendly, competent, but not overly in your face kind of service. Attentive not pushy. Food was delicious, watching the boats and birds come and go. Will definitely return the next time we're on the lake.
Amelia is always such a great waitress! We've has her twice in the past few days. Every time we eat here we have something different to eat, and we have had no complaints. The food is always great!
Wonderful food and service. Very child friendly.
My husband and I decided on a small wedding this fall. Alexander’s was so accommodating to us! We changed our outdoor ceremony plans last minute to indoors on their heated porch, with dinner to follow. It was the perfect amount of space for our close family. They made us the perfect meal, cheese cake for dessert 😋🤌🏼 We couldn’t have asked for a better place to have this celebration. Thank you so much Alexander’s!
The food and service were both phenomenal! Great atmosphere too. I'm glad that I decided to try this establishment after leaving Peak n Peak. I will be back
With 100 honesty here , based on some of the reviews and its proximity to the lake, I thought for sure this place was going to be a tourist trap with just average food. WOW was I wrong! And, even better, this place was amazing for takeout!! Easily one of the TOP 10 burgers I have ever had. The workers were beyond nice with pickup. On the receipt taped to our bag were check marks next to food items to ensure accuracy! And while it wasn’t cheap, for 2024 prices it was definitely not expensive either. Would definitely eat here again.
It was a beautiful day for outdoor seating but there is indoor seating as well. Had the guacamole & chips and it was delicious and chicken balsamic basil pizza. Tasted good but chicken was a little hard/dry. Just picked it off, no big deal. Waiter was great & scenery outdoors is beautiful!!
I am genuinely disappointed I live so far away from this restaurant. It is a very intimate and quaint place. I LOVED the food, service and staff. Our group got the Mac n Cheese, Buffalo Chicken Wrap and the Philly cheesesteak. I would recommend it!! I would 100% recommend going here if you ever get the chance!!
A wonderful local restaurant with a relax atmosphere, great food and attentive service!
Good food and great staff! We picked up a to-go order and the hostess got us waters in to-go cups while we waited.
Great food & service! Happy we decided to stop in for some lunch!
Excellent, excellent, excellent! Wonderful service, and amazing food! Their tomato soup was the BEST I have ever had, and their grilled cheese blew my mind! They took something simple and turned it into food art. Amazing! Even the fries were good. It's pricey, but it's delicious. 10/10! Try them for their lunch specials!
Chill restaurant right by the water. I was impressed by the variety of good quality food but mostly I was impressed with the allergy menu. I have egg and wheat allergy and was able to find a handful of options to choose from. The chef even came out to talk allergies to make sure I was good. Highly recommend the Baked Buffalo Shrimp Mac (gluten free)
Great food, everything was awesome. Right off the trail, great access. Fish sandwich awesome!
Great little joint with super friendly servers and good solid pub food! We were greeted by the owner's Aunt and sat quickly outside with our dog. Liz was our server and she was very sweet. We had a couple of apps, the tater tots and Jalapeno poppers were both so yummy! I had a delicious cuban sandwich packed full of meat and cheese, and my wife had the bacon mac & cheese something skillet. All we know is it didn't last long on the plate. Cocktails were typical and fun. Definitely recommend if you're hungry for some down-home grub.
First time trying Alexandera and I was Overly satisfied with our visit. Atmosphere was great. Food tasted amazing. I Believe our waitress was Faith and she was super sweet. Safe to say i will be going back.
Great stop on out 7 hour drive home from vacation. The Pizza was good, I enjoyed the fried tilapia was good and the fries stood out well! Atmosphere is very bar aimed. the outdoor patio looked lovely but it was a bit too hot for us that day. Our server was sweet and attentive and we were more than happy to get the chance to check out the place. would recommend!
Molly provided amazing service for use and our service dog in training, Maple. We loved the food, it was absolutely delicious and reasonable prices. The puppy menu was an excellent idea and Maple loved her first taste of chicken and a bowl of chilled water! The atmosphere and other guests were fantastic. We had a beautiful view of the lake and enjoyed eating on the deck. The food was very filling so we even get leftovers for a snack later 😋
Don't sit in the bar area, of course it's loud, only takes one guy to do that. Also. Door to outside smacks closed, so not pleasurable. Outside looks more relaxing, try that instead. Dry rub cajun wings are flavorful, and there is Frank's on the table for some spiciness. Burger is tender and big, with bun that did not get soggy. House cut fries could be more crispy. They had a 5 and 20 stout from Westfield on draft that is fantastic. Men's room door does not lock. chicken wrap was excellent, with peppers and chedder.
It was really nice and the place was beautiful. The only negative thing was that the food took an hour and 10 minutes to be served. There were only two other people so it seemed to be a bit long but the food was great and the desert was amazing. So just go and be prepared to wait for a while The food is worth the wait
Quaint rustic restaurant off main street on shadyside drive in findlay lake. Overlooking the lake with dirt lot parking that was plentiful. Upon entry to can find a seat at a regular take a higher table with barstool seats or the bar. We went for the cinco de mayo specials. The cheese dip was fantastic and very filling. Bring a large group as the portions are huge. Waitress was friendly and came to table to check in and make sure we didnt need a top up on the drinks a few times. Very nice spot. It was charming
We enjoyed our food and the service. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere is best when the patio is open. We are there after skiing all day. The soup was amazing. We loved the wings, pizza and the sandwiches.
Dislike the floors when you pull a chair out it scrapes..
Did not go to eat. Great location on Findley Lake. Small local pub.
My hotel off 84 suggested this place and gave me printed directions because it is a bit hard to find, especially after dark. This is a cute, friendly really deep in the country place with excellent tap beer selections. The grilled shrimp cocktail was outstanding and I had a bowl of a special Buffalo wing soup which was quite good. Friendly service. What more can you ask for?
Quick visit at the lake and stopped for a bite before heading home. We dined inside. Drinks were good and cold; sandwiches were tasty and decent but the fries were a bit greasy and flimsy and required a fork to eat them. Two huge disappointments were: 1) the flies were obnoxious and required constant swatting at to leave our food alone. Other patrons were doing the same thing and one lady was using the menu on the table to swat them with. 2) the music.... UGH. Not relaxing at all for a Saturday afternoon. The station was playing loud rap and night club music and most of the patrons were older folks. I could not wait to leave to just get away from the music!!
Very nice place. Been there a few times. The only problem is the water. I'm not sure what's going on with the tap, but it tastes a little murky and cloudy. The food though has always been superb. Decent service. I'd keep going back.
We sat outside on a beautiful day. The server was very nice and friendly. It did seem as though they were under staffed. There was a large group ahead of us however it took an hour to get our food
Food was good. Salad is bland. Great location. Servers were all strange. Mine seemed to be high on something.
I thought that we would try this place out. The food was pretty good. Had to deal with a pesky fly while dining inside. I did think that it was strange that a 22 oz. draft would cost more per oz. than a 16 oz. That is something customers won't be aware of unless they ask prior to ordering... like I did.
There were four of us, and we got waited on quickly, but delivery of the food was really slow. Loved that the place is lakeside off Finley Lake. Food itself was good but nothing really exciting was on the menu. My Mac & cheese with bacon was a mix of cheeses, but I would have wanted a little more bacon.
Great bar food. Some of the best chicken wings in the area. Crispy and saucy. The garlic parm wings were awesome. Fries were good but very salty. Music was very loud. It was hard to hear conversations. Server was very nice. Service was slow but it was a Saturday night. The food will bring us back.
Great location overlooking Findley lake. Outdoor covered or uncovered seating or inside. Loved the Gluten free mac n cheese and burger was delicous on agluten free bun. It doesnt bother me, but they do not use separate fryer for gluten free(some celiacs need to know)
Beautiful, rustic little spot. Loved the small town vibe. Elizabeth was super polite and very attentive. Easy going. I always appreciate that in a beertender- being casual and friendly with patrons. We got the flatbread and Philly cheesesteak. Overall both were tasty. Portions could be a bit larger on the flatbread and amount of steak on the cheesesteak. FRESH CUT FRIES! Bangin! Best I’ve had …Prices are average for a brewery kinda place- $13 for flatbread and I think $14 or so for cheesesteak and a $15 burger, and .50 cents for ranch. Yuenling on tap was fresh n delicious! Will def be back! We visited in winter but I could tell it would be an excellent summer spot as well with their porch. Thank you Liz! I suggest another Amber on tap or even a red amber! You got 3 IPAs.. trade one of those out. Or get rid of the pee water miller and keep that in bottle.
Stopped in and had the Mac and cheese (regular) and the pretzel appetizer. The mac had good flavor, it was a bit thin and didn’t have that great cheesy ‘pull’ (my kid still gave it a thumbs up). Pretzel sticks were soft and cheese dip was good. Good location, sat outside on the deck with a view of the lake.
We drove 1 hour 20 minutes to check this place out and we were not disappointed! The pulled pork Mac n cheese alone was worth the drive! Pizza was really good something for everyone on the menu good portions, friendly staff, nice outdoor seating with a view of Findley Lake. We plan to revisit this restaurant in the future and try some of there other food.
Coconut shrimp was tasty and would order again! Chicken Quesadilla just okay. Chunks of chicken in some places, no chicken in other areas. Service was slow. Was hard to get attention of our waitress. She never checked in on us about food and took about 10 minutes to bring our check after asking.
We arrived and knew it was busy so we took a table in the bar area. We realized they were understaffed after waiting over 35 minutes for a sandwich and flatbread then a large crowd of about 25 came into the bar and our waitress moved to bartending and the other server took over her tables. It all seemed overwhelming and confusing as if the servers didn't have a section but random inside and outside seating tables. Pro: The food was good - Cuban😋 sandwich and the flatbread pizza sauce was amazing.
Disappointing. Asked the waitress what's the best thing. She said the monster pizza. I got it and boy what a disappointment. Ended up being extremely greasy. I think it was the cheap geloutenous cheese used. Turned the whole pizza into a greasy mess. The service was slow, but adequate. The view is nice from the patio. The beer is cold and a good selection. Won't go back, but if you're interested in going, don't do the monster pizza.
Went for lunch. They were not overly busy but must have been way understaffed as we waited over an hour to get simple orders. Most of the food was ok but my sons boneless wings were way overcooked. Kind of pricey for mediocre food. Will find another place to eat next time we visit Findley Lake area. Nice view from the outdoor dining area but it's a very busy and noisy area.
Usually I only write 5 star reviews but I was upset with my experience at this location. The food was what I would expect from a local small restaurant but the prices are what left me upset. They charged us $2 for celery and carrots to go with our wings without letting us know. The cocktail menu also did not have any prices on it, couldn’t believe the Bluegill Lagoon was $20. Also the nachos were listed as an appetizer but apparently can also be ordered as a meal due to the size and price at $20. For a table of 2, each with 1 meal and cocktail and nachos for an app, we paid over $100 with tip and at lunch time. For the quality of food I would expect a $65 bill plus tip so just was very overpriced for the quality and we felt a little fooled.
A local recommended this place to us so we ordered takeout around 6:30 last night. I placed an order for garlic knots, the Jeez burger, the mac and cheese with a request for grilled chicken on top, and a kid's cheeseburger. When I got it home I found the chicken was missing from the mac and cheese and it didn't come with the advertised sourdough bread. My husband went back and picked up the chicken and when he got it home it was dry, burnt, and not worth whatever extra amount it had cost. The mac and cheese itself was very creamy but lacked any real flavor. The kid's cheeseburger was also dry and lacking much flavor. It didn't come with any condiments, pickles, etc. so I wasn't able to dress it up at all. The Jeez burger tasted the best out of the three meals but it certainly wasn't $17 good. The garlic knots, while very heavy on the garlic, were very, very fried and not at all doughy. Overall a very disappointing meal for what it cost. This certainly isn't somewhere we'd try again nor recommend to someone else visiting the area.
Went here as a recommendation while attending the Harvest Festival. Drinks were great as well as service but the food- never again. We ordered the : Veggie Flatbread - Butter & garlic sauce, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and red peppers (note that ALL other flatbread stated they came with cheese. This did not which is why I order it.) Chicken Quesadilla - Served with lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream on the side. Topped with spicy aioli. Flatbread came out with heavy cheese, and the veggies looked like frozen particles. The Quesadilla was good enough until hubby dives into the Pico on the side and we both see a long black hair. Hubby is brown and I'm blonde. I sent my dish back back not requesting another and my husband's dish back after showing the waitress the black hair which she quoted "gross".We sent that away and asked for the bill. My dish got taken off as the menu as it does misrepresent the toppings and hubby got a whopping 15% off his dish which came out to less than $2 after a hair was found in it. I wouldn't have minded paying for the 4 drinks as they were great, but both dishes should have been taken off. Especially finding hair in the food. View of Findley Lake was great but there were no precautions to the massive amounts of yellowjackets which left us and other patrons, batting them away. The food trucks were better the next day than this.
The food was severely lacking in every way. The guacamole was too salty and left much to be desired. The fried rice I only appreciated to be gluten free but that’s it. The chicken was dry, barely any veggies and overall, flavorless. My husband had the Cuban and it’s not even close to a real Cuban. The place is absolutely lovely and has a beautiful view of the lake. The service was also good and the ladies were very kind. I’d recommend going for a drink and the view, skip the food.
It was incredibly busy when we went, so we tried to be patient, but we waited over an hour for our order and it was only 3 of us (including a child.) a table of 10 that ordered after us got their food first which didn’t seem right either. Server was nice but barely saw her. Also tons of bees and flies inside because of the open door. Finally got our food and it was mediocre at best. Unfortunately we will not return.
Were on the road traveling through and stopped for lunch. Three or four tables seated when we arrived. Order taken promptly but food arrived well over an hour later. Burgers decent. Fries soggy, waitress blamed on purveyor. Wings hard. Waitresses were pleasant but didn't offer reason for delay. We asked a few times and no good reason given. It seems false advertising on the plaque inside the front door and the website. Waitresses should be empowered to offer recompense for the long wait.
Sat at outside table for about 15 minutes. Girl came over and said she would be back for our drink order, why not just take it now? Waited another 10 to actually...we left. We would have been fine waiting with a drink. Very beautiful spot. Disappointed service wasnt.
We really wanted to love this place, family owns a place at the Peak and we visit pretty regularly and love the Findley lake area. We came on half price wing night and the wings were pretty good. However everything else we ordered was below average and not worth the $$. The outdoor patio was very nice but our service was meh.
Grabbed take out. Grant it they were busy but when we got home and opened up our containers it looked like the just through everything in together so all the items were mixed together. The sandwich (club) was cold and had very little content on it and the mixed vegetables (which I paid additional for) were 3 tables spoons worth. I sent pictures to bring to their attention and was ghosted. Customer Service is important.
In town for work and went to this place bc of convenience but if in town again would drive out of my way so as to not have to ever go back in this place again. The service was far from pleasant. She was rude and snotty. The food was not good, I ordered the Cuban and she saw I took half of the meat off and even then couldn’t eat it due to the foul smell and taste but she did not even acknowledge that it went uneaten and rudely gave me the check which was insane. $40 for one sandwich, fries , side salad and one drink. Never again
I would rate them as a minus 10 if i could!! The food was catered, way over priced for what was served!! We were charged 500 dollars over the original quoted price . This was 22 dollars plate !! The food was lacking in everyway!! Canned pork n beans , lettuce that was poured out of a bag that was old and brown in many places , we ordered chicken and got 90% thighs.. not even a dinner roll !! People rationing food as THEY were serving it ... WE WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND thier catering service to anyone!!
Great location with lots of potential however you will receive a nice shock when you get your bill. Our 4 year old asked for lettuce and tomato on his kids burger and they upcharged his meal 4.00 for those toppings. We asked for 3 ranches we were given 4 and charged .50 per ranch, my daughter wanted her chicken fingers tossed in sauce and they said they can't do that, then they gave us the sauce on the side which they then charged an additional $2.00 for. I got a drink on there specialty menu which almost had a oil and water consistency and I was only given 2 options for which tequila I wanted which then after choosing the 2nd option I was upcharged another 2.00 for that. Drink pours also seemed a bit light leaving not much flavor to the drink. My husband ordered a pound of boneless wings, he got his meal and it looked like a small portion but didn't realize he only Got 1/2 pound until we got the bill. Now I am not opposed to paying for extra things but I want to be notified that there is an upcharge for that item not surprised. Unfortunately this was our first time here and will be our last.
Service was good as usual, sandwiches were also good. Sweet potato fries were burnt. I give this place a 1 due to the amount of flies we had to bat away while we were trying to eat a meal. Also, pricing has gotten a bit out of hand in a small town such as Findley Lake.
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We are visiting for the weekend and ordered take out. For the price we paid we expected the food to at least be decent but it was straight trash. I ordered their stir fry with steak. I asked for my steak medium rare and instead it was “well done”, to be kind. The meal also had no flavor, not even the sauce that came with it helped. The rice was clumpy and did not taste fresh. My husband and daughter got a pizza, wings and fried shrimp. The pizza was like a frozen pizza you got from the grocery store. The wings were dry and seemed like they were made hours ago with absolutely no sauce on them. The shrimp was burnt dry and just disgusting. If you can’t tell for $61 dollars we were extremely disappointed. Will not be going back the rest of our stay! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone visiting!
I stood at the door for 10 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me to be sat or at least be put on a waitlist and I was walked past and ignored so we left!
