Oh wow! My salad was fresh and the chicken was hot and so good! Everyone was friendly and the place was clean. We had a nice time and will be coming back when we're in the area.

I did not get to try anything other than the pancakes which were actually very good and filing not to dry but enough. Next time maybe with some strawberries on top... Thank you for the seat....

Great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great hometown comfort food. Always a great meal. Sometimes in the afternoon, I'll feel like breakfast and Jacks is my go-to. If you like comfort food try Jack's, you won't be disappointed!

The waitress that served us was very nice and so helpful. I was recently diagnosed with a disease and having to be on a extremely restrictive diet has made going to restaurants very difficult for me. But the staff helped me and served me with all of my accommodations. I was relieved to have such great people who were understanding and helpful to me. And the food is great!! I appreciate this place and their good food!! :)

No pics because the food was gone quick it was so good! I came with my dad and my kids- the fried pickles were amazing! Dad and I both got the special- the hamburger steak which was delicious! And the kids got chicken strips and grilled cheese kids meals. The fries were a huge hit with the kids! The atmosphere and vibes of the place were so nostalgic and cosy- it reminded me of going to the vfw or American legion hall with my grandparents as a kid- and they were even setting up for bingo! So cool. I really look forward to when we can make it out again!

This place was good and I really enjoyed it. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I've had in and around San Antonio. Was it a big fan of the coffee because they don't use filtered water but other than that everything else was excellent.

We ordered different cheeseburgers to go for all of us today. The burgers were great. The lady that took my order over the phone was very nice. I over all enjoyed ordering take out from here for dinner. I would rather 5 stars but when my husband went to pick our food up the man told him it was $38 and asked for his card. When my husband told him we were paying cash (bc I didn't want to pay the surcharge that is mentioned in the reviews) he said oh the price is gonna be $43 then. Why did I get charged $5 for using cash? I understand charging for using a card, but not for cash. Other than that I would totally recommend. Thank you so much Eric for the quick response. No need for a receipt. I am changing my review to 5 stars. We will definitely be back. We really enjoyed our meals. Thank you so much! Have a very blessed day.

(update posted at the end of this original review) My husband and I frequent Jack's Cafe very often and their food is delicious with good portions, but unfortunately today's lunch visit will be our last. All because of one waitress playing favorites with a male customer. She only had 2 tables plus the one table she was flirting with. He came in after us and she took his order first and spent the entire time that we were there giggling and telling him her life story. Not once did she check on us or on the couple that was there before us. I don't want to put Jack's entire wait staff in one boat because there are others there who do a great job, but it only takes one bad apple. Very disappointed. (Updated)..Second chances are far and few between for us but my husband and I decided to try Jack's Cafe once again. After all we really enjoy the food there and the good service and good food outnumber the one bad experience we had with a member of the staff. Thank you Jack's Cafe for a great meal and a very pleasant overall experience. We will be back.

08/07/2021 Our food was prepared perfectly! The servers were friendly and efficient. We had fried onion tings which were cooked perfectly; the batter was light and crispy. Our salads were fresh nd crisp with beautiful green lettuce; the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken were juicy and tender but not greasy with crispy batter. Overall we will come back and recommend Jack’s Cafe.

I hadn't been here in years with the previous owners. Back then the food was disappointing, but it's a total different store today. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with sweet potato fried and a garden salad. Everything was hot and my salad was fresh! I would highly recommend Jack's!

This cafe is worth a visit. Sausage was yummy. Everything was cooked to order and fresh. Coffee is strong. If you're in the area this is a great place to grab a bite.

Food is very good employees are alway very polite, not long wait for food to be served. The cook does a great job in preparing the food. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual.

I myself had the fried sampler, with onion rings, fried okra, chicken tenders which was very soft and tender wonderful flavors all around.y husband had the chicken fried chicken. Very tender and juicy. Service was wonderful and checking in every 10 minutes. Smiles everywhere. Wonderful place. Will come again.

Food was amazing , and so was the service, ordered two steaks (Sirloin, T-bone) and two pastas (Seafood pasta, Spaghetti and Meatballs) And got two drinks. Food was ready pretty much on time and they were super nice and I pad $95 for the whole meal. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

I ordered the 3 cheese burger and my family ordered varieties of breakfast. Waffles were a large portion and eggs seemed to be fresh. I will definitely be coming back. The service was great and helped create an amazing experience. Lastly, they have a small play area for children toward the front; thought this was very unique and interesting.

My entire family loves Jacks. We go there at least once a week and when family is in town we all go for there for breakfast. The waitresses are so nice and attentive. The food is the best and it has the country taste to it. The atmosphere is just peaceful and you know you’re in a good place with good people about to eat some good food. I highly recommend everyone go there. My go to order is the chicken fried steak with fried egg for breakfast or the #23 Club Sandwich for lunch with French fries and the real good ranch. Honestly everything there is fabulous.

I was doing a business meeting with the pastor and was absolutely amazed at the customer service. As recently, I have made notes and comments on the lacking customer service across the map, not here. They were very attentive to:" yes we were sort of having a meeting", yet with good feel for timing of when to take order but all through the meeting there was a good feel from our waitress. The food was very good and no problem with cooking instructions from the customer, lol. Yes, this is a very nice atmosphere and excellent service. Note that the pricing was right where it should have been. If anyone were to ask where would be an excellent choice for a bite with or without a meeting, Jack's would be my suggestion.

Jack's has great southern country food! It's one of the best places to eat in Floresville! The price is a little higher, but the portions are usually really good! It has a very nice open relaxing environment with plenty of room for larger families or groups of friends. The wait staff is always friendly and they keep the place clean. The bathrooms are easy to get to and clean.

First time there, the food was pretty good but the service not so much. Our waitress only came to greet us, take our order and to bring us our food! Not once did she come back to see if we needed anymore coffee or anything. I understand there was only 2 girls working, but there was maybe 2 more tables there. Not too busy to come check on us!

Nice Local Place We enjoy having lunch at Jack's, our usual waitress is friendly and prompt, the soups are homemade and delicious! Our menu favorite are sweet potato fries, beef vegetable soup, and aol of their sandwiches! Try it, you will like it!

The loaded omelet is DELICIOUS! I come with my daughter on Saturdays. I ALWAYS get the same server & she's awesome, sweet girl. I feel bad sometimes because of the low staff. She is running numerous tables. She deserves a raise. She does a great job!

Old Town feels with cafeteria area seating, but the food I'd cooked good and the service is noteworthy exceptional. The welcome is the sale, and generosity is applicable and appreciative, subjectively of course. Great diner. But I only ate breakfast. The breakfast sausage was really ground pork.

I had the lunch menu the day I visited Jacks,it was the chicken fried steak good flavor but it looked liked the whole steak was cut in half which is ok but most of the steak was breading,I had corn and cream potatoes,the corn was cool. This is the first time I have eaten here in about a year ago for the same reason.

Great food and atmosphere but our waitress was not friendly at all. The other waitress was very nice and seem to notice when we needed assistance and tried to help us. Maybe it was just a bad day for her, wouls still highly recommend for breakfast.

Food was ok, nothing great. It was a lot cleaner than last time i went, but still could use some updating and deeper cleaning. Food took forever. Waited 35 minutes from the time our order was placed to the time we got it.

The burger was just a filler and basic fries. Nothing special at all. They still have a plastic partition up at the cashier desk, I guess they think the scamdemic is still on going.

Food was good but waitress aloof. I asked for water no ice and when I took a sip it was hot water. Waitress indicated that the water comes from the tap that they use to brew tea so it's hot and shrugged her shoulders.

Food was too bland for our taste. We will leave this one for the locals..

Disappointing from walking in the door to leaving. Soup was good. Service was to be desired. Atmosphere is really bad. No decor just a big empty room with a bunch of tables.

I like the place to be honest, their omelets and a few other dishes are good. They have ok prices as well as portions (though can be more expensive then other places) and overall is one of the best places, in my opinion to eat in floresville. That being said I don't love everything they serve so you kind of have to make up your own mind on certain things.

Unfortunately, the food was not very good. The chicken fried chicken was so tough I couldn't eat it and the steak was very thin and tough also. Backed potatoes were undercooked. The wait staff was ok but not very pleasant or cheerful.

Things you should know: food is good, but stick to breakfast menu. Worth the extra $1.29 after 11. Decently priced daily specials, staff are okay for hospitality and service. Went around early lunchtime and saw a lot of the breakfast crowd leaving. Pricing is a little funky. 4% discount for cash payers, 35 cents for togo charge.

I ordered a chicken soup with a club sandwich. It was good. The only issue I had was the club wasn’t a club. It was a basic turkey sandwich with lettuce and tomato. The soup looked like it was chicken and stars soup from a can. I’m not knocking someone’s ability, but for the price, it should have been better.

My daughter and I went here for lunch, it was our first time and we happen to be in floresville. Our experience wasn't what we had expected. When we arrived it says wait to be seated so we did and a waitress yelled at us from across the restaurant to sit where she was. As far as the food there was a pretty good amount of options however the food was a bit subpar. We ordered a hamburger and French fries as far as the hamburger it was just a basic burger the most and biggest tomato I've ever seen on a burger but it was what it was. The French fries were pretty good nice and hot and crispy. I also ordered a breakfast potato, bacon and egg taco and I was pleasantly surprised it was pretty good. My daughter also ordered a small breakfast plate she really enjoyed the eggs and the bacon but the biscuit was eh tasted and looked like the frozen Pillsbury ones. Ok so I think the service was by far the worst the waitress acted like she was completely bothered by our presence at one time when she came to take our order she had a mouth full of ice and was trying to talk to us with ice crunching and we were honestly afraid she was gonna spit on us, it was very off putting. Next time we saw her was when our food came and then she did a drive by yall good. So needless yo say we were ready to leave this place by the end of our experience. I'd say the French fries were the best park of pur experience.

There's a waitress there that I cannot believe hasn't been fired. I wish I could remember her name because I'd post it right now. Very upset with my last visit, especially when so many have said great things about it. Took too long to get our food, and none of it was good. Met the owner once, very unpersonable. Do not recommend.

Price was fair for two, we had breakfast but, it took 30+ minutes to get our food from the time we ordered. Sadly my wife was excited to try Jack's but we will not be returning.

My family and I go to Jack's often and usually we are very happy with the service. Tonight changed all that. We understand that businesses are trying to recover from covid and that the supply chain is struggling. But when you raise your prices without communicating that to your customers makes for terrible service. We normally pay around 75.00 dollars for a family of five. Well tonight's meal cost 90.00. The owner added between $2 and $3 for every food item ordered. When questioned her response was "yeah prices went up but we're not going to change the prices on the menu. WOW.

The people there are very nice and in all the times we've had wonderful food, except for the last time we went there. My steak was overpeppered and had a distinct taste to it. My only guess was that they were trying to hide the fact that the steaks were going to go bad so they peppered the heck out of it to hide the off taste. Very unfortunate and I haven't been back since. I've also seen waitstaff mopping the floors and not wash their hands before they go and pick up food. Ugh, unsanitary!

Hmm, the chicken fried chicken tasted funny. The coffee cup that my mother in law used had sugar caked at the bottom. However they do have excellent customer service and we in return we got a free carrot cake that was really delicious

Food and service are always great. I was dismayed to find 18% gratuity ($18) added to my bill when dining with my husband and kids, as we made 6 people. I understand if we had 3 adult couples etc bc this would require seperate bills and orders. This gratuity added for my family (2 adults and 4 kids) made the cost unreasonable to eat as a family at Jack's. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm sure I'll be back, but not as a family and not for a while. I understand and agree with gratuity, but feel the policy should not include families on one bill.

The waitress was very friendly and engaging. That said, to be honest, the food was nothing special. At least not what I had. I had the pancakes, eggs and bacon while having them skip the hash Browns and the toast as I did not want of that much bread and there was no other option besides grits for the hashbrowns. It also was far more expensive to order just that food a la carte. The coffee was a bit bland. Again, very friendly service but not the best place for morning breakfast.

We have been sitting at our table for almost 30 mins with no food. We ordered 2 sandwiches. Our food is now finally here and there is no reason why it should taken that long. Also, the chips were lays potato chips. Would not recommend for the sandwiches or speed of service.

I've been cycling past Jack's for several years and finally decided to stop in. It's always been busy, a good sign. The first thing I noticed upon entering was that it was one large room with an absolutely no atmosphere at all just a bunch of tables. Drop tile ceiling type place. Hopefully the food would make up for it. The menu was typical Americana. I ordered the everything omelette. My companion ordered the French toast plate with strawberries. The omelettes eggs were over done making the omelette hard to eat as it kept falling apart, not to mention very dry. The French toast looked great. But i won't give them a win on this as even the strawberries were weird. Some canned thing like cherry pie filling. Not something you would put on a breakfast item. Breakfast for two with 20% to was right at $30.

Poor service. WlI wasn't provided a napkin, and the waitress never came by to check until after I had finished, and she asked if I wanted more coffee. I had been seated with my back to the rest of the customers, so I couldn't see when she came from the back. Breakfast was greasy when it hadn't been before. When I went to pay my bill, I had to wait a couple of minutes until a man came out from an office behind the register. He never said a word to me. I went with my wife a week ago, and the food and service were both very good. I guess they are inconsistent.

Steak was wayyy well done . I asked for medium well. Rest of food was good. out of vegetable of day and carrot salad bummer. They seat everyone together even though big space and lots of tables. Will go back to try the breakfast.

Took longer than it should have and my food was cold/luke warm. We did speak to people in charge nobody cares the staff or whoever was in charge that day. Also the lady who cashed us out came off rude like she was forced to be there and wasn't happy about it. There are way better places to eat in Floresville so personally I would avoid the hassle and go get some good food.

I've been to Jack's Cafe a couple of times. The first time, I ordered chicken fried steak with cream gravy, and the gravy had soured. Today, I ordered hashbrowns with mushrooms, onions, and jalapeños, a side of sausage gravy, 2 bacon strips, and two eggs over easy. The hashbrowns were loaded with grease as well as the bacon. Bottom line, the food was awful, the service barely acceptable, and everything it over priced, including the minimum 20% tip they expect. And why, for the love of God, do you need to wait to be seated like you're in a Michelin Starred restaurant?!!

Food is okay, $18+ for a one piece Catfish plate and a sweet tea I’d much rather get two filets like the menu had pictured. Flavor was there but it was rubbery which was a double let down. All in all this is a first and last for me.

I had passed this place a few times and figured while I was in town again, I would stop by. Upon entering I saw a sign that said please Wait to be seated. We were never greeted. This is basically a bare room with cafeteria style seating. A lady signaled for us to go to a particular table. She did not welcome us nor crack a smile. I ordered the club sandwich because after looking around, I figured it was a safe bet. It was ok. It came with a side of fries. And whoever was frying this day was the GOAT of the restaurant because the fries were the best thing about this place. My daughter got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Now I have always seen this dish with a sauce consistency but this plate had alfredo pudding of sorts. You could gather your bite and nothing would drip because it was literally too “pudding” like to fall. After the waitress put our plates down, we never saw her at our table again. No refills, no napkins, nothing. Upon observing the other staff, it was pretty obvious this behavior was consistent through out the place. The atmosphere is pretty drab and the food wasn’t spectacular. If something seems off I will usually go to a place a couple times to give it chance but this place I cannot. If you want fries then cool but don’t expect service with a smile.

Got breakfast with my husband here last week. When we went to pay there were 2 coffees on our bill that we did not have. Told the cashier and she still charged us for them. Food was below average but the obly.sit down breakfast around so no other option.

Worst customer service! Upcharged on EVERY single item on the menu! Instead of charging a fee for paying with a card at the end of the bill, these people increased their prices. Quality and quantity has definitely gone down hill. Manager very disrespectful and rude! We will never go back! Poor excuse for a diner! Everyone needs to be aware of how these people are taking advantage of the customers and the community! Horrible place!

Had a awful experience ordered online didn’t know it was for door dash came to pick up my order and the owner was acting like I was trying to steal food even after I showed her my receipt 3 times and she even took pictures of my receipt I will never be back again!!! The waitress tried to explain to her the situation and she still acted rude WOW!

My wife got take out, and she ordered me a steak salad with blue cheese, herself a chicken fried steak with a loaded baked potato. She got the kiddos 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with fried and an avocado burger. The steak she asked for rare for me and it was burned, and tasted old, the avocado was not fresh, cheese was clumpy, the salad was soggy and the blue cheese was warm, not stored at proper temperature. I got a sweet tea with mine. It tasted days old and watered down. I tried my wife's chicken fried steak, and the breading tasted old as did the fried steak. Nothing was freshly made. She had to pay extra for all the toppings on her baked potato and got bare minimum. My kids barely touched their food. We paid over $70 for this meal. Way too overpriced and will not be returning.

The food is bland, my teenager makes better breakfast at home. Also the owners are rude for no reason. I have been nothing but pleasant yet I am met with sour faces and the few words they do speak are extremely disingenuous. I believe the only reason they must still be going is the small town regulars that show loyalty and like to support small businesses. But it's simply not worth my money.
