TLDR: Great food, great staff, great key lime pie Came in on a Friday afternoon for dinner with visiting family. This place was recommended by an Italian as being one of the better Italian restaurants in the area and he wasn't wrong. Parking was a little interesting being in a popular area mixed with apartments. Upon entry, staff were pleasant and attentive. There were 5 of us and we were trying to figure out if we want to split some appetizers or just grab a Margherita pizza to split. Our waiter suggested the pizza amd glad that he did. The pizzas are baked in a hot wood fired oven that you can see from the seating area. The crust is delicious with a great chew to it. The sauce has a subtle sweetness and the fresh basil offers that familiar flavor that i love in a simple Margherita pizza. For the mains, my wife got the braised short rib pasta and I got the cacio e pepe, a dish that on the surface seems simple, but if not executed correctly, you can tell. The short rib by itself was a little overcooked but had great flavor. When eating the meat with the noodles and sauce, you really couldn't really tell it was overcooked. The meat was tender and the sauce had a great depth of flavor. For dessert we ordered what I can only describe as the best slice of key lime pie outside of Key West, FL that I've ever had. This was a very generous slice accompanied by fresh blueberries and strawberries, topped with a heavy whipped cream. This was better than some of the key lime pies that we had in Key West even. All in all, we were very happy with this place and will be coming back. Highly recommend.

Mio Nonno delights all around with truly exceptional food, outstanding service, and a warm, cozy atmosphere. The margherita pizza was the best I have had in America, truly perfect. Our other meals (salad and veal) were perfectly prepared and seasoned. The service was also excellent, with an attentive wait staff who catered to all of our wants. The only negative I would mention are the chairs, which are extremely uncomfortable. They are hard and angled, making you feel as if you are sliding down. Other than that, Mio Nonno offers one of the most delicious Italian flavors in the area. It ranks third in my list of Italian restaurants nationwide.

Took my family here for dinner and we had a fantastic time! Evan was our server, he was very friendly and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious!! Hostess could have been a little more attentive, and bathrooms were dirty. Overall though had a wonderful time and will be back!

We have eaten at Mio Nonno multiple times over the years. Tonight we visited again for a lovely Christmas Eve meal. The food is consistently flavorful, fresh, and well prepared, and the wait staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The kitchen is open to the restaurant and is really fun to watch. Tonight, we had braised short ribs and an amazing lasagne with their bright, delightful marinara. We will be back sooo for another celebration!

My wife and I love coming here for a nice relaxing dinner! The service is amazing and always attentive. The food is always fresh and delicious, the chef and owner are nice to talk to as well! We love coming here and will continue to come here!

Went here for lunch and as you can see, the food portions were quite a lot. The food was fantastic. We had several different entrees and everyone loved the flavor, whether it be spicy or simple like the salad. The only thing i could say negative about any of the food is that the calamari was a little bland, which in normally is but just could use a little work. The sauce helped cover that up. I would absolutely go back and I would recommend if you are in the area!

Absolutely fantastic food and drinks! The espresso martini and pineapple martini are a must-try, and the chicken dish or pasta is beautifully prepared and the tiramisu is simply delicious. It was the perfect setting for a memorable date night—definitely a 5-star experience from start to finish!

This place was so amazing! I went for a late lunch yesterday and was so completely blown away by the service, the food, the drinks and the atmosphere. Definitely will be returning! Our server was so friendly and attentive. She gave great insight on the food selections we were debating between. By the way, I highly recommend the squid ink pasta! The ciabatta bread is to die for. I’d eat that on its own. The chef and crew cooked such delicious food. You could tell there was care put into every dish along with the freshest quality ingredients. Oh, and the drinks are delicious as well. Not too sweet but very punchy. The flavor profiles of the Diavlo pizza were so deep and complex and delicious with a great dough. Just so good. Great for date night. Or just because. I recommend everyone in this area try this place.

Update: All new menu! Great Italian spot at Lakeside in Flower Mound. Busy all the time but not much of a wait. Great bar area. Indoor/outdoor seating. Great menu choices. Knowledgeable staff and they are willing to make changes to menu selections. Not loud, great atmosphere with plenty of natural sunlight. Great evening location on Friday with outside live music.

Two words can express my experience at Mio Nonno Trattoria in Flower Mound, Texas. Those two words would be. More Please:) It was such a wonderful experience. When I walked in, the ambiance was breathtaking. The soft lighting with the relaxing modern music to complement. My server was Mario. He was top-notch. Over the top professionalism with personality. To start, he recommended the sausage and peppers. It was so delicious. Excellent recommendation. I also had the Four Cheese Tortellini and the Salmon. Both were cooked with precise dedication. I tip my hat to the chef. To end the experience, I tried the Tiramisu. It was literally the best I've ever had. I can't wait to return to try other items on the menu. Job well done 👏

Great Italian place in Lakeside. Food was Texas authentic and service was excellent. We had the gnocchi appetizer and it was excellent. The lamb chops had a great flavor, and the pasta alma with chicken and sun dried tomatoes had a great creamy sauce. Overall it was a great experience. It is also 1/2 price bottle wine night.
