Opinions de San Soo Kap San - Korean BBQ Flushing
A delicious Korean BBQ restaurant with a ton of a service. We ordered one of the barbecue combos offering several kinds of beef and chicken. We also ordered a seafood pancake. We were extremely pleased. The meat was superb and the seafood pancake tasted even better the next day. Will be back
I love the soup, seafood pancake, Tteok-bokki, and the KBBQ. Me and my partner went and ordered a bit too much since we wanted to taste a little bit of everything. Overall, the price wasn’t too bad for what we ordered and also we didn’t get bothered by anyone regarding tips (as comments mentioned below).
I love coming here! Steve is an amazing waiter, he took such good care of me. Brought out the bon cho promptly and the food came out quickly.... I even dropped my chopstick and he was quick to bring me another before I could even ask. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Everything was flavorful and delicious. I can't say enough great things about this place!
I came with 3 people. We ordered a combo (2-3) meal but couldn’t finish it all. THATS HOW GOOD THE FOOD WAS. The kind lady who helped cooked the food couldn’t speak complete english but me and my friends weren’t opposed to trying to meet her half way and even using some korean (or attempting). The rice and side dishes were so good. I didnt enjoy the chicken fully but the beef & pork was top notch. Everything was seasoned to the bone & my favorite sauce had to be the chili sauce. The tofu soup was good & fishy, perfect for the cold weather of NY and if you are sick. Our budget was $200 & our total was around $150. THE ISSUE WAS: We had to pay a 30+ dollar tip which was 18%… We didnt know that prior but we were lucky to have some left over money. It was deserved but unexpected. I will definitely be coming back & recommending!
I love the food here it’s always nice to go back ! Today I’m writing the review because the service was above and beyond. The waiter ( his picture is posted got the picture from another reviewer) who was with us was super sweet, he played with my babies and was very attentive to everything! He made us laugh and over all was super sweet he was not rushing and was amazing( he is the biggest reason I’m giving them a 5 star!). I was here 2 times before but got other waiters who very much rushed and made us feel like they wanted us to leave but the waiter I had today no he was super great! We got the combo B and it was so good ! If you want great service make sure to ask for him, he made our night super enjoyable I was able to enjoy my food because he was making my babies (who are one) play with silly faces and clapping ( Thank you ! As a mom sometimes it’s really hard to enjoy dinner out with the babies )
This place is LEGIT. Their menu was good (they have some really authentic stuff...not just BBQ) -- I ate a grilled fish with tofu soup, which were probably better than what I've had in Korea, tbh. Also, their side dishes are probably one of the best I've had anywhere (restaurant or someone's home). I even told the owner that these side dishes were excellent, and she just said that she knows. Lol. If you're in Queens, make sure to check this place out. I would gladly drive 6 hrs from Canada, just to eat here again.
Korean BBBQ that open 24x7 and comes with great selection of meat cuts. My fiance and I were in NYC on July 4th for an event. The next day, we were left stranded without dinner plan. I found this spot on google, the price was medium and the wait wasn’t that long. We were so satisfied with their service and food, definitely coming back!
This is my second time visiting San Soo Kap San. The first time we were a group of 7/8 people and since someone else treated me I didn’t know what exactly to e ordered but my money is on Combo C. This time it as just me and a friend and we ordered Fried Dumplings, Pork Belly bbq for one and egg fried rice with beef. The egg fried rice was my favorite. Since they only bbq pork belly on the table only when it more than one order, they bbqd the meat in kitchen. I personally like it less cooked and on the medium rare side. This one was Medium. Sides and sauces served with it were good. The Fried Dumplings were juicy and the skin crunchy. Overall a good experience and I am definitely going back for fried rice.
Our family loves this place. It’s our go to Korean BBQ. The food is consistently good, the service is always on point and the condiments are abundant. Sometimes you have to ask for rice a couple of times but otherwise it’s a nice local spot. The combos are priced right, food is fresh and my favorite spicy kalbi tang always sends my spice meter to the redline. It’s not fine dining, but it’s more like local charm dining.
This has been a pleasant experience and we were welcomed and taken care of by the staffs in here. Good The food is nice, meat is fresh and not too strong. The soup and banchan all have authentic korean taste They offer free refill banchan and rice so its nice and filling enough if you are heavy eater. All side dishes are not bad so why not? The servers are nicely taken care of us, help us with grilling, and also always update with us about the meat and everything. Bad The staff tried to upsell us the more expensive combo but we didn’t really need it. Have to verbally decline twice is kinda awkward. The price is high for sure, but you can’t ask cheaper for such performance - because they truly invested in the food and services. Just say that its not for every day visit for low income . Just visit here for special occasion, when you want to be treated nicely and eat good food. I hope the business will be there always.
We enjoyed our recent visit to San Soo Kap San. We have visited a few times, and every time was a pleasure. In this establishment, you don't grill your on your own. They will grill your order table side. Would like to visit again but it can't be too often as these type of establishments are not for daily due to cost. One big plus I can mention, being that parking is tough around here, is that they do offer free parking. There's a parking garage next door. Mention to the parking/restaurant staff that you are dining/parking next door. Bring your parking stub and go and enjoy your meal...
This is a classic korean restaurant with good banchan and decent food at an average price. I had kbbq (bulgogi + marinated pork) here recently, it's fine. Nothing to sing amazing or terrible things about. For kbbq you get steamed egg, lettuce and about 8 different banchans. As a banchan lover, they have variation, it changes often and is fresh. Their table d'hote / mains are my favorite. I usually come here for a stew or grilled fish. Banchan for just mains are on par with kbbq minus the sauces, steam egg, lettuce and herbs that accompany it. This is a place I go back for having a good meal where I am not shelling a ton of money. Included current menu prices (March 2024) below:
I will say they serve healthy style Korean food! What I had with friends was a lot and were delicious! The only thing is that I think the price is slightly expensive. The raw beef bibimbap was great. They served vegetable more than rice which I loved it. However, the raw beef was still frozen were serving, I heard that before but never had it until that day! Not my style but I know some Korean ppl like it. And we order BBQ. It came with some many side dishes! Clam soup, seafood soft tofu soup, steamed egg. They were awesome✨ Definitely going back to try more☺️
It was our first time having dinner from this place. Over all experience was pretty decent. Now let me grade each aspects of our night. Ambience, 2.5 star, place looks old. Service 5 star the server was very attentive. Food was 4 star some of the meat is a bit chewy and hard, side dishes was alot, japchae tasted really good, the tofu seafood soup was great, tasted really good. Pancake was oily. For the Price i would say 4.5 star, plenty of food for 4 and all of us was very full. I would certainly go back and recommend to eat at this place, especially if you are looking for a less pricy Korean Bbq.
I like this place a lot. The food is good and plentiful. The panchan are diverse and always tasty. We ordered way too much food, including kalbi tang, pajeon/seafood pancakes, a spicy pork BBQ which wasn't actually spicy, and japchae. Delicious. The atmosphere is basic but clean. Service is very attentive. This is my latest neighborhood go-to for what has quickly become comfort food for a non Korean gal.
Wouldn’t recommend this place at all. To start, the old male waiter was extremely rude to me and my friends and kept staring at us the entire time, making us very uncomfortable. Additionally, they even tried to charge us for food we never ordered and demanded a large tip on top of it. Please please take a look at other reviews mentioning the same issue regarding tips and a rude waiter as they are pretty accurate. Moral of the story: avoid this resturant and always double-check your receipt, because they might add items you never ordered and still try to charge you for them. 🤦♀️
