A really nice pub with a welcoming atmosphere and an excellent beer selection. Had the Sunday roast for lunch and it was decent—enjoyable, but not exceptional—solid 7/10. Basque cheesecake was delicious! Overall, a great spot for a relaxed drink and a pleasant meal. Would highly recommend!
We came for a Christmas work do here and everyone agreed, the food, service and ambience were top-tier. We were sat upstairs in a lovely side room which worked perfectly for our group. Big thank you to Rob and the team for their impeccable service. Excellent food, great vegan options - every course came out at the same time which isn't easy with a large group. What a fantastic pub, we are lucky to have this place on our doorstep.
Absolutely loved this place! Great atmosphere, delicious food, and super friendly staff. What really made it special for us is how dog-friendly it is — our pup was welcomed with open arms (and even got some treats). It’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy a good meal, and spend time with your dog. Highly recommend!
Wow what a place! Food & service 10/10. Just wanted to leave a review as our voucher expired 6 days ago but it was very kindly honoured, and I'm so glad it was! We'll definitely be back.
I mean, recently voted 5th best pub in UK, I can see why. I love a decent local, and this place feels a little special (or posh if you’re a Northern visitor like me!) Joking aside, such a welcome and conversation from the bar keep Ben, the atmosphere is as welcoming as a cup of Yorkshire Tea, and the food is just outstanding. Take a date, take a mate, stop in for a solo pint; it’s a solid choice
Fine pub with good snacks. Lovely atmosphere. Not old fashioned but not too gastro / posh either (although some of its clientèle might be…). A good place for a drink.
Went in for a special occasion as it was my partners birthday and could not have been treated better. The waiter Ben was a particular highlight, he was so polite and charismatic and made us feel like family. The food tasted wonderful (one of the best scotch eggs I've ever had) and the portions were more than generous. Once again Ben deserves all the praise.
Come for the food and drinks, stay for the ambiance and Sienna! Seriously, the food is an outstanding option in Kent. The burger is next level, and American quality. Others in the party had beef cheek pasta, which everyone said was great, and it looked delicious. I also had the beets, with baked gost cheese... phenomenal! For a British Pub, the wine selection was mind blowing. The truffle fries, seriously incredible. Hell yes! The atmosphere is just cool. It's warm, welcoming, and puts you in a "British Pub" zone. Very local but welcoming at the same time. Now let's talk about a service industry professional. Sienna made it her business to ensure everyone was comfortable, and attended to. Charming as can be, and she literally made the experience better. She could work at a Four Seasons to be honest. A lot of small town pubs make you feel welcome, be Sienna makes you feel like you are supposed to be there. We went for my daughter's birthday and Sienna made it special. What a great experience! THANK YOU!
Great atmosphere and great food. Friendly staff. Loved it Recommend not sitting directly in front of the wood fired oven as it gets rather warm. However we did enjoy seeing all the food being prepared.
My 1st visit here in a few years and also since it changed from what it was and why I stopped going! Ryan was a real legend when it came to warm welcome, product knowledge and general passion for what they are doing here now! Menu looks fantastic...... Events sounds brilliant and they have so many plans for the coming year! Also the staff there and a couple from another place in town have joined too....... Adding to the appeal of what is already a great place to be in and visit! Thanks Team! 👍🏼🍺😍😍🍺👍🏼
Excellent town pub with interesting vegan menu. I chose Torched Vegan Feta with Ember-Roasted Beetroot, Caramelised Red Onion and Walnut Dressing and Grilled Corn on the Cob. It was delicious, beautifully presented and quite quickly delivered by cheerful staff. We sat in the world garden which was lovely in the sunshine. A very pleasant experience.
Wow this is a little gem.. wonderful service and hosts, the food was superb, we had a Pork sharing platter and it was.succulent, flavoursome and generous.. definitely be back soon thank you
We came in for a weekday evening meal and I was impressed with the decor and vibe styling, high-end gastro pub vibes - you can't tell from the outside. We went straight in for the Quattro formaggi (four cheese) burgers that were great, nicely cooked, flavoursome and juicy, really nice. A change from top-line proper burgers like Lucky Chip, but very tasty - variety is the spice. The side were great too, donut sized onion rings and really delicious sweetheart cabbage with green sauce and pomegranate. It wasn't busy, service was great and the vibe was nice - it is a bit pricey but it's worth it. I would like to try more from the menu.
Best food in Kent. The chef and his team are offering food you don’t see on other menus, a blend of things everybody loves but with their own unique twist. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is energetic and warm, you feel like you’re sat in your favourite pub, eating you’re favourite foods but everything has been dialled up.
We originally chose this pub, because we were looking for a dog friendly eaterie in the centre of Folkestone. We were pleasantly surprised by the stylish interior, with lots of gleaming copper, and the menu choices, which combine old favourites with unusual, like curried cauliflower tacos. The service was friendly and efficient. It all made for a very enjoyable lunch.
UNBELIEVABLE. We visited this evening for dinner and I couldn't hold back on leaving a review! Neil and the team in the kitchen satisfied taste buds that I didn't know existed - we tried multiple dishes and were not disappointed by a single bite. We ventured out of our usual comfort foods (bar my steak) and have left wanting more. We are definitely going to returning as soon as possible to try and complete the menu!
We had a great vegan meal here. My wife has a fantastic Sri Lankan curry and I had tacos, we shared a side order of (delicious) mushrooms. Service was great, friendly, attentive. We recommend!
We had the overnight flat bread. I had the Filipino with belly pork cooked to perfection. All in all well worth a visit. Good selection of beer’s
Second time at this place. Last year came here for drinks with friends which was lovely and this time for some food. Had the breakky bao, good stuff. Solid 6/10. Had the steak & eggs, very good stuff. Solid 8,5/10. Really good. Atmosphere is always great, friendly place with friendly staff, lots of dog owners too which makes it more enjoyable. Will definitely return.
We decided to pop in for lunch, out of the cold! Choosing a table near one of the log burners, which was blazing away. We chose the Four Cheeses burgers, Spiced Crispy Buttermilk Chicken burger, Biscoff Affogato and Woodfired Figs. The food was excellent and arrived quicker than expected, as the place was filling up. The service was polite and attentive, especially towards our autistic son, which is a credit to the establishment. Will we be back, of course!
We had a delicious early dinner last night The Radnor Arms - there was a really lovely atmosphere with lots of groups of friends, families and colleagues either eating or having drinks together. I enjoyed their chicken burger whilst my dad had the Sri Lankan curry and mum their half chicken with corn on the cob. Can’t wait to go back again soon.
Wow! A real gem. Sunday lunch £19.00 for main. Beautifully pink beef the pork belly also looked great. Good wine and beer list available. Highly recommended with very good service too. Wonderful friendly atmosphere with dining areas all around the venue, quiet upstairs, more family centred downstairs. Interesting artwork and decor. A bit off the beaten track but we’ll worth investigation! Will certainly be returning here!
Best flavours in town. Exceptional chef. Clearly a lot of thought and passion goes into the food. Unbelievable flavours 🙌🏼
What a cool place! The staff were amazing too, really friendly and they had a cracking craft beer on tap. We had a roast and I started off with a Chorizo scotch egg which was a bit of an error as I couldn’t fit all that food in, obviously I did but I was really full. The Chorizo Scotch egg was really nice so highly recommended. The roast was good, the potatoes weren’t great, but that was probably because we were one of the last to have them, it was 4pm when we had booked for. The Beef was perfect!! Literally couldn’t fault it and this is the most important part right. The cauliflower cheese wasn’t amazing, it was tasty but I really like it when it’s got melted cheese all over it, guess this is harder when you’re doing it on mass. The place was packed so I’d defo say book, and like I said the staff were spot on, friendly, attentive and I couldn’t fault their service. I finished with some ice cream, and it wasn’t my fav, but I am probably spoilt when it comes to ice cream, the honeycomb was great, the strawberry was nice, but the vanilla was lacking.
Great find! Such a nice pub with great food and service from the barman who was a waiter for the evening was brilliant 🤩
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Experience at Radnor Arms! Absolutely loved our visit to Radnor Arms in Folkestone! The food was delicious, the wine was amazing, and the service was incredible—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. A lovely touch at the end was having our leftovers wrapped in a fun foil swan shape! It’s rare to find a place that gets everything just right, but Radnor Arms absolutely does. Can’t wait to return—highly recommended!
Really enjoyed dinner here with 7 friends. Menu very similar to the Globe in Rye - it's sister pub. Only downside was we were in a bit of a tight schedule and the meal took nearly an hour to arrive. Understand we were a large group, but 8 shouldn't be too out of he ordinary, and we had booked a table too. Love the decor in here so much, it's a really pleasure to dine inside - homely but quirky interior decor. Highly recommend the lamb pie.
I went here for a Christmas party and the food is amazing. I like proper food not this fancy stuff you see nowadays and this place did not disappoint me. There is a really nice vibe about the place and you can get some decent drinks here to. The only criticism I have is that upstairs can get quite hot because the pizza oven is below it. Can't wait to come back.
My partner and I just had a lovely evening here. The food was excellent. Delicious, nicely presented, and perfectly proportioned. We had the heritage tomatoes to start and the pork flatbread and beef pappardelle for mains, with a nice seasonal salad on the side. All of which harmonised perfectly (and went very well with the wine). The drinks was just as good. We had a mix of beer, cider, wine and cocktails. The wine (a rich French carignan) and cocktails (a couple or classics: an Old Fashioned and a Pina Colada) were the highlights. The service was friendly, polite and speedy. The barman and waitress that served as were faultless. Finally, the decor and furniture was just our sort of thing. Some heritage features (we loved the brick wall with the various obvious patches and changes of years gone by) and modern touches, all done in a classy and cosy manner. A must visit if you're in Folkestone.
Stumbled upon the lovely pub whilst in town before heading off to France Fantastic layout and decor Great barman that talked me through the extensive selection of beers on offer Sat outside in the lovely courtyard and enjoyed prawn flatbreads, cooked fresh in the pizza oven 👌, served by the very efficient waitress Perfect start to the holiday
My son took me for mothers day. Beautiful interior, food was fantastic and service second to none. We were visiting from London but if we're ever back we will be dining here again for sure! Amazing experience and great price.
1st time eating here, my wife and I had the steak deal two for £45 and a free bottle of house wine , it was a nice experience the food came out how we ordered it , the only down fall is you only get a two hour window where you are seated , ( you can get up and move into the bar area which we did ) it's was not a problem for us , but it maybe for others who like to eat and chat , the staff are very welcoming and professional it's clean and tidy ,I highly recommend eating here
Amazing ambiance and atmosphere. Wonderful and friendly staff. Very good food and beautiful selection of beers & wines. AND dog friendly..... !!!!!!!!
First time there and would defo go back. Lovely roast dinner for sons birthday. Food lovely service brilliant.
Delicious food, we had the prawn curry and fish and chips. Really great service, the staff were so great, friendly and accommodating! Thank you!
Absolutely wonderful. Delicious sunday roast. Great for allergies (easily catered for gluten free and dairy free). Gorgeous decor and ambience and the service was fantastic. I dodnt catch our servers name but she was wonderful (and had lovely glasses!). Thank you, highly recommend.
Really delicious roast although could have done with one more slice of beef just because it was so nice! I would definitely go back! Slightly difficult to park which is a bit of a pain. I’m not vegan but they had a whole vegan menu which I thought was great!
Food was delicious, service was also excellent. Despite being fairly busy and being seated in a private dining room we were not forgotten about. Overall great experience. Will be back when in Folkestone again!
A great night of food and starters on Steak Night (Highly Reccommend!). The atmosphere was great and the staff were attentive to the degree that we enjoyed all of our staff interactions. Christine was amazing, and she exceeded our expectations of service on the night and made us feel at home! Highlight for us alongside the flank steaks! Matt, Rob, Marcus, Lydia.
Never judge a book by its cover! You'd never expect such a cosy beautiful interior at first glance. Great staff and delicious food. My only gripe was that I paid a tip twice as I wasn't informed that a "digressionary" charge had already been added to our bill ( 2 people) and I when I increased our bill for our server, he didn't advised me that 10% had already been added. Other that that, fantastic
Great vibe from the decor and layout throughout into the beer garden - a feeling of quality and attention to detail. I appreciated the range of drinks - local beers and ciders sourced locally + wide selection of wines. I initially called in for a drink in the evening, and decided to stay for dinner ordering the ribeye steak, which was tasty. I returned the next morning to sample the brunch, choosing the smashed avocado with smoky bacon on sourdough, and a cappuccino. I found the service relaxed and welcoming from bar staff and table servers, who were also very attentive.
We visited the Radnor Arms for dinner when visiting my partner’s parents. The decor was really interesting, the service was great and the menu had a few delightful stand outs (the haggis scotch egg was amazing!) - would definitely recommend if in Folkestone for an evening.
I was staying in a nearby hotel and I popped in for a couple of pints. This place has a nice beer garden and I like the copper pumps behind the bar. The barman was friendly and I managed to try a couple of pints of Duddas Tun cider. Which I'd not seen before. I would recommend the Elderflower one. If you should ever happen to see this Paul, great recommendation.
My pizza was overdone but I generally really liked this place and would go back to try more of the menu. The cauliflower tacos were really good. Catered well for kids. Burger and hotdog were good quality. Good deals available on different days, like Aperol Spritz and pizza on Thursdays. Nice selection of wine and beers including local ales.
I only had a pint with friends, which was a bit expensive, but the decor is nice, the staff welcoming and a good range of craft beers.
Not good, not bad, but OK! Is it a pub or restaurant? It was our first visit, so we didn't know the protocol... There was no one greating people as they came in, so didn't know whether to seat ourselves. By the time we asked if they had room for a table 2, the staff shrugged and said "If you can find a table, yeah" I would have preferred them to say "Let me go and have a look". By which stage 2 groups had walked in and sat themselves, leaving 1 free table... Thankfully. The pub was full and there was only 1 member of staff behind the bar, leaving her thin on the ground. She knew her product knowledge of an extensive range of drinks. From what I gather you can only order and pay for drinks at the bar, so you need to get up everytime you want a drink. I would have bought more if it was table service. There were 3 other staff working. All very pleasant and relaxed. Shared a seafood platter to start. The hot smoked salmon and squid, were very tasty. I didn't like the seasoning on the whitebait much, the bread was sort of rubbery and the salads were odd. Disappointed that my steak and ale pie didn't have a pastry bottom, the potatoes were like luke warm and the 3 shriveled roasted carrots were just plonked on top of the potatoes. The pub has a funky glass foyer and the decor is exposed beams and brickwork, with lots of curiosities to look at, including photos and pictures of Folkestone and surrounding areas. I'm not sure I would visit again as my expectations did not meet the hype. If it is classified as a restaurant I would expect a greater attention to detail, someone hosting the room and better napkins than little paper serviettes.
At first glance, a lovely pub. Good atmosphere, good location etc. Sadly the service is appalling. The staff are awful, made to feel like I was an inconvenience for ordering a drink. My mate went up after and was treated similarly. We finished up and went elsewhere.
Lovely pub with a good vibe and aesthetic. It is clear a lot of care has gone into creating a great atmosphere. However, just a heads up: the prices are extremely high for a Kent pub. Both the food and drink are noticeably more expensive than anywhere else I have visited in the area and anywhere in Kent for that matter. The food is good, but it is nothing special for the cost, especially considering how high the prices are. I also asked to try an IPA and the manager actually rolled his eyes at me, then proceeded to charge over 8 pounds for a pint. If I am spending over 8 pounds on a beer in Kent, I at least expect to taste it first. I am always happy to pay a bit more for a special place, but in this case it really feels like the pricing and the attitude go too far. I think they’ve taken advantage of being the only decent pub close to the channel crossing.
Fabulous interior and staff. Ryan couldn't do enough to make me a wonderful CREAMY pina colada. Thank you. We went for the plat du jour as opposed to the a la carte because one our party is feeling the pinch a bit. Our starters were brill. Our beef and rice was very pleasant. BUT, Rosemary's burger and chips had to be seen to be .....totally underwhelming. The chips were dry and looked overcooked and ...old and screaming for some Allioli. And the burger? WHO'S idea was it to use brioche for savoury?????? Just shoot them and be done with it. And the filling? Just looked like very finely shredded caramelised onion - and that was it...? I don't think I've ever seen such an unappetising meal - except for at home when I've done a serious booboo. The onion bhaji looked fine and I would have at least tried them, but Rosemary was so very quiet, I didn't dare ask! Three were loads of folk looking very happy - a mix of just drinkers, retired couples and young families with kids ( kept to a specific bar area, thanks ) so obvs very loved and successful. I think they were all going for the a la carte, so pay a price and you then get, maybe???? I'm sorry, but just keep burgers in Macdonalds. Where they belong. Fast food is NOT upmarket pub food.
I could make this extremely lengthy but my message is about the experience we had to endure when we came here for my 4th visit with my elderly mother and disabled father for a lunchtime drink. We have always liked the pub hence we made a special trip on the train from Broadstairs. We were initially served by a blonde lady who was friendly / helpful and very chatty to us all 👍 on my return to the bar a very unclean greasy chap who needed a wash served me when I asked him if he could call me a cab I was TOTALLY ignored ? I asked again he just said call it yourself laughing, “why should I call you a cab you’ve got a phone” was the reply to which I said the girl earlier said that was fine as my father really struggled to walk here and he’ll not make it back. Again I’m not a telephone operator call yourself at which point he would NOT let me pay for my order kept moving the card machine away from my phone to pay. So I took the drinks without being able to pay ! He then literally started shouting who are you looking at ? At my 82 year old father ! When we asked him to stop his reply was you’re banned from here after you finish your drinks get out ! I’ve NEVER been to pay to be abused in my life and I can assure you I’ll be telling all the neighbours we have at our flat in Folkestone and ANYONE that will listen DO NOT WASTE your money ! There are places that appreciate customers clearly Ryan feels he’s more important than us.
