I wish I could remember our servers name. She was the sweetest. She said she had been working with them for over 20 years. We never came close to running out of drinks, and she removed our plates as soon as we were done. The food was great also. It was my 9 year olds first time being at one and she was in heaven!

Steak was very good! Well worth it.. The roasted chicken was pretty salty. But everything else was pretty good and would recommend if you are really hungry

We go to Golden Corral a couple of times a week. Jennifer the cashier always greets everyone with a huge smile and such welcoming words. Shes not only the cashier but you always see her cleaning up any and everything. Then we find our favorite servers. Some days we have Jamese whom always greets us with a hug, smile and the cleanest tables in there. She goes the extra mile by spraying the tables with sanitizer and then dries them. On other days we have Tomiko whom is also excellent. It doesn't matter which tables we sit at it's all about where our favorite servers are. The bar gives you so many choices to eat. If anything is empty all you have to do is mention it to the servers and they make sure it's restocked plus they let you know when it gets put up there.

Awesome family restaurant. Smorgasboard of edible decisions to make. Waitresses are nice. Food is kept and prepared fresh. This was our choir Christmas fellowship dinner. We also sung to the other customers. It was really nice to bkess someone else.

My buddies took me for my birthday and I ate like a king. They had sirloin and big ol fried shrimp on the buffet. The service was great. I left there fat and happy.

This is the first time we've been back to this location in a couple of years. We stopped going because the last time the food wasn't good at all. They have most definitely made improvements with everything at this location. We went the day of the Magic City Classic and only had to wait about 20 minutes even though it was packed. Everything went smoothly. The food was fresh and tasted great! The servers were all friendly, and it was clean. We will definitely become regulars again.

All experiences have been good. Jennifer the cashier, Ms Lottie, Cynthia, Joseph, & Kelly are always very polite and helpful. Linda the manager is always on time. I'm thankful for your service.

Golden Corral is an awesome place to come and enjoy time with family as you dine in. The food is good and hot and the service is prompt and professional 👌. The manager Roy makes sure this business runs sufficiently. Roy is a very hard worker. I have never seen a manager roll up his sleeves like Roy and work just as hard or harder than his employees. The entire staff is as friendly as can be. If you love delicious food, come to the Golden Corral in Hoover, Al. My grandkids love the food and desserts. The peanut butter cookies will melt in your mouth 😋 😍.

The waiter was awesome. It was Veteran's Day and packed but he was super good and kept up with everyone.

Our Scout Troop stopped here for dinner on our long trip home to Dallas, Texas. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Thanks to Jennifer and Chris our server who was very diligent in keeping our glasses full and tables clean so we could keep our tight schedule. Great stop for a group on the go.

I love Golden Corral so much!! They are the one restaurant I could never get enough of. Unfortunately the one in our town closed years ago leaving me heartbroken so anytime I see one while traveling it is a must do. This one was great and we were so happy to have ran across them! The restaurant was very clean. The buffet looked so nice and you could tell they worked hard to keep it stocked and clean at all times. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. I will definitely be back when coming through this area.

Golden Corral – 743 Lorna Rd, Hoover, AL Always a wonderful experience here! After church, a friend and I enjoyed a hearty meal. Everything was clean — the restrooms, tables, and buffet area. Our waitress Donna was amazing: attentive, friendly, and made us feel at home. I had fried fish, hush puppies, green beans, and a fresh salad with crisp onions and tangy lemons. Parking is easy with wide spaces and good lighting. We've come many times and always see familiar, kind staff like Patricia and Cynthia. Celebrated my dad's 82nd birthday, our server was the BEST, she sang happy birthday and brought him out a cupcake with a candle and made him feel special !

For it to be as busy as it was for mother's Day lunch we did not have to wait too long. and with us having a large party they also did great with finding us somewhere to sit. Everything was good and hot. They kept everything full considering how busy it was.

We had a large group of teenagers .. the host and the management staff were very nice 😊

It's solid. You always know what to expect here. The wait staff are always so attentive and pleasant. Everyone in the family can find something they want, from salad bar, to meat and three, and on to dessert.

First off, let me say this is possibly the best GC we have ever visited. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, the quality of the food and it was down right delicious. This has become our go to restaurant when we travel to Birmingham. Since our first visit, with friends, we have been back again, and will always remember the great experience we had.

The food was fabulous! We went with a group for lunch and everyone enjoyed it. Our group had roast beef, mac & cheese, fried chicken, fresh strawberries, salad bar, sweet potato casserole, fried okra, hush puppies, yeast bread, fried catfish, carrot cake, ice cream, and more! Servers Teresa and Patricia were great! Fun atmosphere and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

We had the pleasure of dining here last Sunday for supper, and the place was a mad house, BUT they kept fresh food on the line, and I had the most delicious steak. The real 5-star reason for the meal was our waitress. We were seated in the section next to the desserts. I wish I knew her name. She was elderly with black hair and glasses. She was an absolute delight, kept our table clean & our glasses were brimming. You can tell she is the hardest of workers even under the most demanding of times. She deserves a raise if you're the manager & she deserves a good tip if you're in her section. Thank you.

Best place I have ever eaten. Can’t beat it for the price, service, atmosphere and the FOOD! There is nothing they don’t have and it’s always fresh and full. The employees were all older than 35 and I will definitely go back if I am ever in the area.

I recently visited and overall had a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just right — cozy, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxing meal. However, I did notice a small structural issue in the last dining room on the left. The ceiling fan's lights were hanging by wires, which looked a bit concerning. I’m sure it’s something that can be fixed easily, but just wanted to point it out. That said, the true highlight of our visit was Stella. Although she wasn’t our assigned server, she went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of, checking in on us and providing excellent service. It’s rare to encounter someone who takes the initiative like Stella did, and her efforts truly made our experience special. I highly recommend this place — great food, a nice atmosphere, and stellar service (pun intended) from employees like Stella! If you ever come by ask for her she will take care of you!

Waitresses were awesome! Cashier not so much! It was our first time. So we had questions about the process. She was no help, took our money, gave us the receipt and looked away! Fortunately a waitress came to our aid and explained how to maneuver the buffet etc!!!

The food is pretty good - their Mac n cheese is excellent. My kids like the variety from salad bar through entrees to dessert. Recently had an excellent server who was friendly and courteous and very helpful. Staff is usually very pleasant. Sunday evenings are usually super crowded with families.

We had the BEST waitress we've had in a long time. I'm updating this review because it has gotten better! Shout out to Lottie Lawson( not sure of spelling) she's an older lady and was very attentive and funny! I must say she made a dinner great and it was our anniversary. Love the variety of food items, service was perfection. Food was actually fresh and good! Thanks Golden Corral and Lottie for the great dinner! We will be back next year if not before. Plenty of parking. 4 stars because we got the last 2 strawberry lemonade but they were great!

The tables are smaller and if you have a family gathering, there's not much room for each of you to enjoy your meals without bumping into each other. The plates are smaller but at least you can get as much as you want to eat, with the buffet. Our server who introduced herself, only came back one time to fill our drinks. It was busy but maybe they need more help. The food was good and plentiful of different things. The price was excellent for 6 people. It's got its bad things but the good makes up for the differences. When asked to go back for lunch, I will be happy to eat there again.

Cost 36$ for 2 people, which is about the average today at any place, funny how it use to be way less for the same exact food. The waitress was good to us and the girl at the front register was good to us as well. The drink we got had hardly any ice, the food was ok but people were using spoons from the sweet potatoes for the greens and just no common courtesy. The staff helped us. If your looking to play your patience card with folks this is the place. The mess some of these customers left for them to clean up was ridiculous. If I was GC id stop people like that from eating at my restaurant.

Food was good. My daughter and I wanted cotton candy and the lady obviously didn't want to deal with it bc she turned the machine on and kept repeating "no bueno". Kinda hard to say something is no good when she looked clueless on how to operate the machine. I honestly think day shift should prep a lot of bags for the day or something.

It’s a buffet with several very decent, dare I say wonderful options. The price is extremely reasonable for what you get and generally speaking, it’s a fine choice for lunch. My most recent visit, however, might end up precluding me from further visits. More often than not, the actual aesthetic and atmosphere of a place shouldn’t really be much of an issue. For this spot, it’s a glaring problem. It’s simply not comfortable. You feel “icky” being there. Plates aren’t clean. Tables aren’t properly bussed. Servers disregard your finished plates. But what’s worse is the clientele. Now I want to be clear when I say I am in no way calling out any person or anyone specific, but the SMELL of this place is beyond deplorable. And it’s not coming from the staff… The stench, on SEVERAL occasions during my most recent lunch visit had me covering my nose and mouth. There were a couple of moments where I quite literally thought I needed to rush to the bathroom to lose what food I had already consumed. The smell was so bad, I had lost any appetite I had previously. Is this the specific fault of the restaurant itself? I want to say NO, but I also can’t elaborate further as to why I’m saying no. But I will say the smell was not coming from the food, nor the employees. Listen, there’s nothing inherently wrong with a buffet style experience. But if you visit this particular one, do what you can to be seated as far away from other guests as you can. Unfortunately, it’s usually extremely busy. So this will turn out to be quite a challenge.

But most of the food tastes like it's precooked and overly salty. But for all you can eat, it's somewhat expected, quality wise. The servers are always kind and working hard to please.

Dirty plates, pie undercooked, all 5 of us got sick within 4-6 hours after eating there. Staff was friendly.

Well I took my girlfriend here for a date and let me tell you just how embarrassing it was. The only meat avaliable was fried chicken. I was not impressed at all. Honestly not worth $36 for two people to eat. For driving over an hour to get here was a waist of time and money. I will never eat there again and I will tell others not to eat there.

Went in to get breakfast to go. It was awful! Biscuits stale, muffins dry, hashbrowns too greasy, and the gravy watery. The cashiers were sooo nice and helpful, but I just wasted 20 bucks. Maybe they're just not good at breakfast food, but super disappointed and STILL hungry. Dirty and awful service. We were put in a seating area as far from the buffet as possible because they were expecting a large group in 45 minutes. The carpet was covered in food

Food was not good at all especially for the price. The jello had gnats in it, there were no diverse food options and the drinks are $3 just for them to be watered down or have random particles in them.

We arrived before 4pm. They delay taking payment just so they could charge us more. Someone is apparently gaming the system They didn't bother to wash the plates before putting it out for customers to use. They had both drawers being counted. The cashier was being yelled at. There was hair in Lauren's mashed potatoes. At the end I was at the register and I verbally tell Lauren I'm paying, if they are going to delay taking our payment just to charge more.... That manager, who didn't seem to know the register, just ignored the comment. You had a chance to fix the situation, and choose not to... That is why this time, you get 1 star. Have a nice day and thank you for choosing Golden Corral.

We came 30 minutes before closing time but were not permitted to make a selection from the menu. A staff member said, “Sorry, they shut the grills down about 5 minutes ago.” There was no option of ordering something that was made 5 minutes before the grills had shut down. No notice online that the last order time was 45 minutes before their posted closing time. No sign at the location either. I don’t think we will go back.

This was the first time I've ever taken my daughter to a golden corral and we were excited because I always remember them being a great time. This was not it. The food was all over the place, I don't know if they did not have enough staff to replace food but the selection was lacking and the remnants of food were smeared all over the food bar and caked into the floor. There were no bowls for the soups. There was no ice cream and the cakes were in the same condition as the other foods. No one came to clear our plates or give us refills on our drinks until we got up to get dessert and they took away everything. I had to find someone and tell them that we were not finished and that we wanted our drinks and they brought us new drinks but they weren't what we asked for. Overall gross experience with the atmosphere and food, no experience with service because we didn't receive any. I wouldn't visit this location again. This was my second time here and the first time sucked too.

Been at the location 45 minutes in line and numerous people have cut in front of the line or snuck in to the establishment without paying. Workers seem overwhelmed with the amount of attendants and lack a good amount of employees to tame the masses.

The food was terrible. All the way down to the nachos. I'm heading to McDonald's just to eat all because the food was disgusting. You better off cooking at home.

Date of Visit: July 16th I’m beyond disgusted. I came to Golden Corral hoping to relive a good memory from when I was 13 — now I’m 27 and completely pissed off. The food was horrible. Dry, withered meat. Grits that were literally just water — like nobody even tried to stir them. The salad bar? Swarming with flies. Tables were sticky and dirty, like nobody cleaned anything all day. Plates and utensils looked used, and don’t even get me started on those nasty cups. It felt like eating in a health hazard zone. I asked to speak to a manager — nobody showed up. Not a single person seemed to care. Me and my husband tried to enjoy ourselves, but we were too busy dodging bacteria and side-eyeing every bite. People spend their hard-earned money here expecting a decent meal, not a stomach ache and disappointment. Clean your kitchen. Clean your staff. Clean your standards. If your team can’t maintain basic sanitation, they need to be replaced. I will be contacting the health department and I highly suggest others do the same. This isn’t just “bad service” it’s straight up neglect. Thanks ,a highly disappointed customer

Absolutely horrible, cashier was rude and couldn't even lift her head off her hand, she needed a nap I believe. Bathrooms had more pee on the floors than in the toilet. Toilet paper roll was on coat hook in bathroom. Sanitation station was completely empty. No hand sanitizer anywhere, I tried several different ones. No one working there wore a mask, not even around the food. In general, the restaurant was really dirty for charging $14.99 a person not including drinks. Will never go back. Only reason we went there was because it was my son's favorite place to go to, Until today. It was his birthday. Big disappointment 😞.

Went in today with 3 people and Golden Corral couldn’t pull it off had servers everywhere but no tables were cleaned off with no place to sit then didn’t want us to leave and had an attitude the whole time will not be back

Air conditioning was awful. Made it hard to eat comfortably. Flies were everywhere and the double dumpsters outside were over flowing and the stinch was sorta making it inside. Only bright spot was the kind 76 yr old Asian lady that was our server. We dined at the Hoover restaurant

A real review Its a smaller GC. They greet you up front. No trays anymore. The bar was unkept and needed alot of cleaning. The food was the worst GC food I've ever had. We struggled finding decent food to eat. The bar looking nasty made it worst. I guess the community is just glad the option is there. I definitely wouldn't go back. John the waiter was excellent with a smile.

It is Saturday for lunch steaks everybody are complaining about how dry they are. The guy cannot speak. English behind the cook. Stand told the manager about it. She said he would cook whatever I wanted, but everybody is complaining about the steaks and the food being dry. She says it's their best cook I told the manager that he's losing the money because all these uncooked steaks they're having to throw away are the employees are taking them home she went tell the other manager, and then the main manager came up and told me don't worry about it. The steaks are just fine.

Sloppy presentation food liked like slop , & they forgot the pizza was going. No pizza in the "pizza area ". Definitely the worst Golden Coral that I've ever been to they don't care about the people they serve. 🤢

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Everything was cold and old. No new food put out the entire time we were there. Even if there would have been, it wouldn’t have helped the frankly disgusting taste it all had. All four members of my party left simultaneously hungry and nauseous with $25 less to our names, wondering if this was a fever dream or true reality.

Well apparently they close earlier than 8pm because I got here at 7:40pm and they were closed and the buffet was all broke down so they should say they close at 7:30 to clean up & break down thier buffet. I didn't intentionally get here at this time Im a truck driver & wanted some good food and have been to countless Golden Corals that say they serve anyone up until they close. So now that I went off my route I'll try to find another place to have my late dinner. Disappointing for sure.

The lady making the drinks as you walked in was very rude and had horrible customer service skills. The dishwasher was broken, there was no syrup for the pancakes, the grits were scorched, they stopped putting out fresh breakfast food 45 mins before breakfast was over. I could go on and on. This place had really changed for the worse. The workers on the food area also had a difficult time comprehending. We had a group of 10 people and one was satisfied. I regret taking our group here for breakfast.
