Delicious food, exceptional service, and a great ambiance. This spot feels a lot like you’re in Japan! They have really good Japanese food staples and some other Asian dishes like dim sum dumplings as well. The highlights of the meal were the chicken skewers, shrimp dumplings, and the pork rice bowl. I also tried a sushi combo that was ok, but the other dishes really stole the show. The shrimp dumplings were hearty and perfectly steamed. The real showstopper was the chashu pork bowl which had diced pork, green onion, and a savory sweet sauce on top. So delicious! Also enjoyed the chicken skewers, they were really juicy and had great seasoning. Everything was tasty and the service was super attentive. Highly recommend this spot for your chashu pork fix.
Saw an Instagram post about the reopening in 2022. Since it’s close to my home, I went ahead to give it a try. This place was in an unexpected location. The interior presentation was nicely decorated. Since this place just reopened, the menu is limited and I wasn't able to try some of the signature dishes that they have. My friend and I ordered Karaage Fried Chicken, and Pork Gyoza for starters, Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and Dinner size Poke Bowl for the main dish. The Pork Gyoza stood out as the style was something different than most, it was just like what I had in japan. Both Karaage and Gyoza were juicy inside and crispy on the outside. Not bad of a starter. The main dish, Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, had a small portion size, but the soup base and the texture of the ramen was on point. Could have eaten another one for sure. The Poke standout as the sushi rice was very good. The portion of the bowl was good, but the sashimi again had a small portion which I was cave for more Overall, a hole in the wall place for Japanese style food in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The quality of food was good, I can't wait till their full menu is back up and running, and will definitely come back and try more dishes.
Looking for an authentic Ramen spot? This is THE ONE to go to. Their ramen broth is slow cooked for more than 20 hours to get the most flavor out of the pork bone. Their skewers are also deliciously tender and flavorful. Every item we had was so good! They have a variety of yummy bites to choose from, hard to try it all in one visit! The owner and staff are very friendly and provided great customer service! 10/10 definitely recommend. Instagram - @thesofloduo
We have been here so many times, I’ve lost count. The staff are all very friendly and attentive and their food is very tasty. Their ramen has so much flavor, I’ve tried all three from the menu. The scallion pancake and gyoza appetizers are very good but our favorite are the lamb skewers. Also noteworthy is the Karage, it has the perfect amount of crunch, tender chicken, and saucy flavor. I tried the duck once and while it’s good it’s a bit pricey. The chashu pork rice bowl is my personal favorite entre. We keep ordering the same stuff but they have a huge menu. There’s always plenty of parking and the dining area has a very cool ambience. Last but not least, their drink options are nice, boba and juices with lots of options.
I really enjoyed my visit thanks to Yelp Ft Lauderdale. I would've never find out about this hidden gem. Its located right inside a public parking garage. I wasn't aware there were actually an array of small stores because the area was super quiet. When I arrived, there were only a couple of patrons there and one of them I knew. I actually didn't mind that it was quiet because I wanted to just chill and try their food. I got the Scallion pancakes to start with and they were very good. Nice and toasty and tasted yummy. As for the entree, of course, I had to get their signature Tonoksu Ramen. Wow! The 10-hour broth was to die for. Plus the noodles were made fresh. I could tell by the elasticity. They didn't break apart. I was impressed by this soup. I can't wait to come back someday when I'm in the area. I just wish they have beer or wine or sake to go with the meal. Otherwise, the quality and good service are enough reasons to check them out.
Great restaurant with delicious ramen and sushi! We started with some Green tea then got some Karaage - fried chicken with delicious sauces. Next we tried the shrimp & cilantro dumplings which had a nice chew and tasty flavor! For the mains we had the Kogashi Garlic Ramen and the Lovely roll. Highly recommend those two dishes! The ramen was so flavorful and the pieces of pork were so tender! Can’t wait to go back and try more!
Best hidden gem in SE Florida. Restaurant is gorgeous inside with a new build and authentic culture decor that matches the type of food served. Service was amazing from the time we walked in until the the time we left. The pricing is extremely reasonable. The food is spectacular, thoughtfully plated, and authentic! Some of the best Peking Duck I've had, owner stated that it takes two days to make it. Sushi was fresh and the quantity is substantial. Loved everything about this restaurant and you can tell others do on a busy Thursday evening. I highly recommend it and I'm looking forward to trying the Ramen and Boba tea next time as everyone raves about it!
Went here unexpectedly for my friend's birthday, since the other place cancelled on us. I love when I discover in these unassuming places an absolutely amazing culinary experience. Please do yourself a favor and order the ramen noodles with a side of dumplings. Delicious and authentic.
A great little hidden gem with a nice, peaceful atmosphere and wonderful service. I unfortunately have a gluten allergy and our server was incredibly accommodating given the limited options, and she even gave us a complimentary fruit drink at the end! I had the miso soup and kimchi fried rice (gluten free edition, they do have gf soy sauce). Thanks for the fantastic service!
The sushi is very fresh and generously portioned. Great quality rice as well. I was pleasantly surprised that they had good Uni and I really enjoyed the Japanese fried chicken. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I am literally returning the day after for lunch and will try to return next time I'm in town.
Ichimora is a small hole in the wall in the place that you'd least expect it, in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It's at the base of a large parking garage that I used to come park at every single day back in college. Anyways, this place is authentic, delicious, and very well priced. The staff is friendly and environment was very clean when I went with a friend recently. We tried out multiple items from the menu including the shrimp dumplings, Japanese pork gyoza, nigiri sushi sampler, tuna nigiri, hamachi nigiri, and then the spicy tonkotsu ramen (nutrient dense rich broth made from pork bones blended with our secret spices. Topped with chashu pork, scallions, bamboo shoots, and soft-boiled egg), and the kogashi garlic ramen (the thick silky broth is slow cooking pork bone, along with lots of delicious extras such as kogashi garlic paste, soy sauce. Topped with chashu pork, scallions, bamboo shoots, and soft-boiled egg). I loved the shrimp dumplings, the Japanese pork gyoza, hamachi, tuna, & salmon nigiri, and of course, both of the ramens. This time around I had the spicy tonkotsu but I think next time I'll have to do a full bowl of the Kogashi Garlic with a bit of chili oil on the side. Honestly this is now one of my favorite restaurants in the area and definitely one of the best ramen spots that I've tried in South Florida. Highly recommend it and I'll definitely will be back soon to try the peking duck and more items on the menu! Since this review I have been back twice for the ramen & peking duck. Wow the peking duck is ridiculously delicious! Will be back for more.
🍱Explored a relatively new sushi spot in Fort Lauderdale and it did not disappoint! Ichimora is tucked away in the business plaza, if you work close by this is the perfect lunch / after work spot to visit. A wide variety of selections, from poke bowls, ramen bowl (authentic!), Peking duck and of course sushi. We started with the Scallop Yuzu appetizer, very fresh yet lacked a bit of citrus flavor. Moving on we enjoyed 2x large hot sakes, and ice cold Kirin beers - Wei our server, was calm, cool and collective - making sure we enjoyed our meal. My favorite was the Salmon on Fire roll, which was large enough for one person (8x large pieces) tucked inside was fresh shrimp tempura, and on top flame torched salmon. Excellent!! Secondly we tried the Truffle Tuna roll, seemingly basic with only a few ingredients, the special sauce and fresh tuna shined through! Another winner. As usual, my friend and I, usually end or sushi outing with Ikura and quail egg. They did not carry the quail egg, but that did not matter the Ikura was plentiful, fresh and delicious!! They did have UNI, which I will def get next time. Minus the one appetizer, this place was amazing and well worth the price. Budget friendly, great food, calm and beautiful atmosphere. If your in the area, give it a try!
The absolute most delicious Japanese comfort food. Tried a few different appetizers, ramen and sushi rolls and everything was so good, with a very nice presentation. Very cozy atmosphere as well!
We had dinner with our friends here. The sushi was amazing. My favorite was the uni and the crispy rice. Both the spicy salmon and spicy tuna crispy rices were great. The servers are super nice! We enjoyed very much!
Today was our first time here and we had the BEST experience. Sandy was our server and he was the best. He gave us amazing recommendations, was very friendly and kept checking in on us. The food was also a 10/10. We will be back
Went to dinner tonight with friends at Ichimora and we had a great time! We all agreed the ramen was really yummy, and our server Adam was a delight. Convenient parking made it a great spot on a Friday night during the season.
I had an AMAZING dinner, the food was very delicious and fresh. I really recommend the crispy rice spicy salmon as it was one of my favorite appetizers. Additionally the Calle Ocho Roll was really good and definitely a must try. Overall, was a great experience and I will certainly be coming back!
I went to a new place i found unexpectedly on google and wow what a surprise, I was not expecting what I found. Ramen was as good as I have had in Japan, the fried rice was so soft and fluffy. I found out the rice they use is actually sushi rice which is more expensive which I've never had before. The chef is a some youtube sushi master Hiroyuki Terada from Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef, and has a huge following, something pretty cool to know. I will definitely be returning and cant wait to try their other items.
We had a wonderful dinner! 🍽️ Our waiter, Adam recommended the Spicy Salmon Skin Nachos, which were A-MAZING!!!! We then shared the Grilled Angus Hirami steak. It was a great portion, cooked perfectly!!! Highly recommend visiting this restaurant!!
The atmosphere here is quiet and calm, with great service. I ordered a rice bowl with beef. I’m not usually a fan of rice, but I almost finished the whole meal that time. I highly recommend this place!
Is safe to say this is a place that you will comeback many times. One of the best Japanese food I've tried in Fort Lauderdale. Chef's Curated menu listing is on point.
My server was absolutely wonderful tonight. So attentive, friendly, and professional. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I truly appreciate that level of service. Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable, thanks Sandy!
This is definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been to in Florida!!! Food they served are fresh and super authentic. Everyone there is super nice and welcoming, we came to the restaurant late but they were still happy to serve us. I highly recommend people to come visit this lovely place❤️❤️
Gustavo took great care of my and my buddy, I got the spicy tuna roll which was fantastic and the ramen with pork brother and pork protein supper good 👍 5 out of 5! Will be back
Was a little stressed and worried without being closed temporarily but safe to say it’s EVEN BETTER. The gyoza dumplings melted into my mouth and I wish I bought more and the ramen was to die for (literally went into a food coma straight after this meal)
Delicious food and great service. It was a nice and clean restaurant. We had a large group and they were able to take care of everyone. Can't wait to go back
Came with my husband, they just reopened last week and my husband recognized the chef as Hiroyuki Terada from diaries of a master sushi chef on YouTube! The ramen was delicious! Definitely recommend visiting!
Amazing food, sandy and Gustavo are awesome very friendly, great place to enjoy with a group of pals Or a solo run.
Scrumptious beef udon noodle soup, not too salty, just lots of flavor. My husband adored the lamb skewers. Excellent fresh West Lake green tea, super professional server Leslie, serene atmosphere/music. Conveniently located near inexpensive parking garages downtown. Looking forward to the introduction of dairy-free desserts! Extremely highly recommended!

Ichimora is absolutely delicious! The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. Every bite was full of flavor, and you can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The service was just as amazing friendly, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The staff and our server Sandi made the whole experience feel special and made sure everything was perfect. If you’re looking for great sushi and outstanding service, I highly recommend Ichimora!
Just had dinner here tonight and the sushi was exceptional! Really great quality sushi and ramen. We tried the spicy tuna and spicy salmon crispy rice, which were great and they give you more than most restaurants. I really enjoyed the bakka roll and the eel roll as well. My favorite was my salmon sushi because the fish was so fresh. The staff and chef are very kind as well. We will be back!
The restaurant has reopened, and although the menu is still limited before December, the dishes are unbelievably delicious—especially the fried rice. What a wonderful surprise for me and my family! We all loved it. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and everything is beautifully seasoned. This place is a must-try if you’re looking for Michelin-level Japanese food at very reasonable prices.
Great food and great service. The crunchy crab salad was a significantly larger portion than expected. The ramen was broth was so delicious I felt bad leaving the last few drops but my stomach was so full. Will definitely be back!

The photo that I seen online for the karage chicken was actually chicken wings. The ones they serve are fried pieces of chicken thighs. They were actually good. But I was expecting chicken wings. The sushi we ordered was shrimp tempura and tempura jb roll was AMAZING!!!! Hands down. The siu mai was nothing but shrimp no flavor. Rice could of used a little more flavor. But, overall ok, but I've had better had red thai down town Hollywood.
I’m gonna have to go back for the Peking Duck because lots of people swear by it. The restaurant is fairly small and it’s in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Service was quick as the waiters are pretty attentive. I came here for Ramen and it was just alright. The sushi was bomb. I tried the Spicy Tonkotsu and it wasn’t spicy at all but the Kogashi Garlic broth had a good flavor. I also tried the and I was not I fan at all the garlic broth was rather blan. Indefinitely enjoyed the chicken karaage and the lamb skewers, pretty decent appetizers. I will definitely come back for the sushi and the takoyaki specifically as those were my favorites.
Pretty good lunch spot. The spicy salmon bowl was not as spicy as I expected. Very fresh fish.
I have been to this place a couple times. Depending on the dish you get the food can be really good or just okay. I had the chastu pork bowl. It was basically boiled port that was torched with a sauce on top. It was not the best but the rice underneath the pork was delicious. I do love myself some well good long grain rice. I also had the Japanese croquettes and that was okay. The inside of the croquette was extremely creamy almost like a custard. I was a big fan of it. I do love their flavored green tea drinks. I got the mango and it was divine.

Food and service were good. Simple clean. We had a spicy ramen noodle soup and an eel rice bowl. The soup was good the rice was a little hard. Also had a Thai milk tea. I have had better. We have been here a few times. This time was a little disappointed. Maybe because we usually come for the ramen. We will continue to come for the ramen. The free dessert when you check in wasn’t as fresh and pre-frozen.
Chinese restaurant offering some Japanese dishes. You order via a tablet and the food is then brought to your table. Out of all the items ordered, the fried chicken was on top. Everything else was subpar to borderline okay.

I have given Ichimora multiple chances, but unfortunately, my experiences have been consistently disappointing. I work nearby and have ordered from them a few times, typically sticking to the vegetable fried rice. However, this is the third and final time that my order was incorrect, prepared differently than expected, and not what I originally requested. Additionally, the pricing has been inconsistent—both online and in person, their lunch specials are advertised as $12.95, and without tofu, it should be $10. Yet, all I asked for was tofu without sauce, and I was charged $17. The fried rice I received this time was noticeably different from their usual preparation. It had a hard texture, tasted like brown rice, and left an unpleasant aftertaste. If you’re familiar with Ichimora, you’d recognize that this is not their standard quality. It’s Valentine’s Day, and all I wanted was to treat myself—now I’m stuck with food that doesn’t taste good. (Compare my picture with others of their fried rice—it’s clearly not the same.) Beyond the food, my experiences with their service have not been positive. Each time I visit, I don’t feel welcomed. The staff often looks me up and down, appears reluctant to take orders, steps away from the counter, and takes a long time to answer the phone. Despite these experiences, I continued to give them chances, hoping things would improve. Unfortunately, I now regret wasting my money. After expressing my dissatisfaction, they did offer to remake the dish, but they couldn’t guarantee it would turn out the same, as they’ve apparently changed their preparation method. This lack of consistency is disappointing and frustrating as a paying customer. At this point, I do not feel that my business is valued here, which only adds to my disappointment. If you want to try Ichimora, I would recommend going once and forming your own opinion. However, based on my experiences, I cannot confidently recommend this restaurant to others. I truly wish things had been different, but after multiple visits, I can no longer justify returning.
They don't have Sushi. Maybe in the past they did, but not anymore. Which means, if you don't eat red meat (PORK) this place isn't for you. Very, very, very limited options for vegetarian or fish. EVERYTHING HAS A PORK Broth Base. My food was oily and overcharred. The other okay... This was underwhelming from start to finish. I'd not recommend. EDIT: to respond to the owner. I specifically asked if there was any type of House Noodles with broth that was fish or chicken based and was told no. MAYBE, marks on the menu for fish/vegetarian no beef/pork will make everyone's life easier. 🤷🏽
We visited on a Sunday at about 3 in the afternoon. We were not sure if it was open despite the hours being posted online because we could not find an open entrance. Tip: If the gate is locked on 1st street you have to enter through the garage on 2nd Ave. We had read some reviews and saw the restaurant has high marks overall so we were excited. We were pretty disappointed. We ordered beef skewers, spicy shrimp wonton, crab dumplings, edamame, and Dan Dan noodles. With the exception of the dumplings, everything was very mid including the temperature of the food. Nothing was hot when it got to the table. There was little to no flavor in any of it. Even the salted edamame was not salty enough. We asked for some chili crisp oil to try and lift the dishes, but that was a fail, too. Maybe Sundays is not the best day to come here. Overall, this was a miss. Though, we had a very pleasant server. Unfortunately, we came for the food.
I went for the first time yesterday after a Google search of an area I was going to be last night. The food was great. The service wasn’t. I asked the waiter to come to our table twice to get a box to go and the check. I had to go up to their reservation desk in order to finally get a movement. The guy came by to drop the check and box and we waited an additional 10+ mins… I ended up having to go up to pay the check. I think there’s just a need for more people on busy nights. Oh and I forgot to mention brought me the wrong drinks for me and my boyfriend. He had already poured his beer, but mine I had to stop him prior. I was a bit disappointed. Food is great. But I’m not willing to go through that type of service again maybe if they change it in the future.
Be careful with this place! This was my first time eating here. I specifically wanted ramen. The ramen is listed as $18 I requested the beef which is listed on the menu for $4 more, you're supposed to get one protein and then you pay extra for whatever protein you want added. I got charged $8 for the beef and $5 for tofu. I let the waiter know the price discrepancy and he showed me the menu where it has different prices listed. It shows $4 then lower it says $6. I was there with a friend so I didn't want to make a big deal so I just had him charged me for the full amount. I heard the waiter and the host discussing what I had brought up and I heard one of them say she's going to pay it anyway . I got a Ramen soup for $18 and a soda for $3.50 per can and my bill came out to $36 before tipping. I will never go back to this place again, it just seems really sketchy. The soup was okay the beef slices more mostly fat.
On Dec 26 night , around 8:00, My family of three chose your restaurant based on online recommendations, and we were initially very happy to have dinner there. However, after returning to our hotel, I became seriously ill. I experienced severe stomach pain, followed by violent vomiting twice, and later developed diarrhea. The symptoms were intense and lasted throughout the entire night. At dinner, I was the only person who ordered the shoyu ramen. The other family members ate different dishes and had no symptoms at all. Because of this, we strongly believe that the ramen soup I consumed was the direct cause of my illness. Everything I ate at dinner was vomited out. This experience was extremely distressing and completely ruined my night. Based on the timing and severity of the symptoms, I am very concerned that the soup broth may have been spoiled, expired, or improperly handled. Food safety is a serious matter. I am writing to formally bring this issue to your attention and to request an explanation. I also expect that you will investigate this incident to prevent similar situations from happening to other customers.
