A great Mexican restaurant- I stopped in on a weekday about 2:30 pm - had one of many lunch specials - pollo a la plancha - it was incredible - chicken was very tasty - plantains were sweet - rice and black beans very good - it comes with a cup of their chicken rice soup - super - as I sat there enjoying the meal - at least 4 different people came in to get large takeouts of the soup - the owner said they make it fresh every morning and it sells out through the day! I will go back next time I'm down in Lauderdale - and the prices were affordable - my lunch was 10.95 . Try it!!
Everything was delicious, horchata was bomb. If you want some real Mexican, stopping here is a must. I wish i got a margarita because i had the Carne Asada Tampiquena, which was cooked perfectly. very juicy, good cut. Everything was balanced from the rice and the creamy avocado and cheese. I will be back
When they serve you hot tortillas chips and 2 types of salsa, you know you're in for some good eating! We had great food and great service. 1 Mambo Combo and 1 Cuban Combo. 2 House Margaritas and ended it with a Tres Leches. Check the pictures and see how we tore ishhhhh up....I MOSDEF RECOMMEND👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Amazing authentic casual Mexican restaurant. The food was 11/10 and so were the margaritas. Very cozy, great vibe. Service could improve with speed and attentiveness but I’d go back a million times over the food was seriously so yummy.
Excellent. Only went for lunch, but definitely recommend. Actual food for the price of a drive-thru combo. The whole parking lot smelled like garlic when we pulled in. Sold
We've been in the area for years and finally tried Jalisco for the first time today! Excellent authentic Mexican food with huge portions for a small price. Food came out quick and everyone we interacted with was truly so kind. Can't wait to bring this spot into our rotation and bring friends to try it too!
The food was awesome. I got the most tender pork chunks I've ever had. Everything else was perfect. I will definitely be back.
This place is excellent!!! Best chicken rice soup ever!!! Food is excellent! Service is friendly, efficient and, professional.
My favorite place. Love the ladies( waitresses) there most have been there for decades. Must says something good about management right? They always know I want a margarita when I come. I usually get the house which is reasonably priced and delicious. Their lunch specials is what attracted my aunt and I decades ago. The food is always fresh, fast and efficient. Dining in you’re offered chip and dip and a small cup of soup as well. Check it out you won’t be disappointed folks
I had an excellent experience this evening with my friend. We were greeted when we walked through the door and offered to seat ourselves. A server helped us almost immediately. We were helped with chips and two types of salsa. Genuine and house made! I personally didn't like the original, but that's just my taste. The spicy was the better of the two. My buddy and I ordered drinks and came out quickly. The pour was good! The menu is plenty large enough. They didn't have crab today so I couldn't order Crab Enchilada. The Texas Enchilada was amazing and plenty large enough! Refried beans were amazing and I don't even like refried beans. Everything today was seamless. Easy 5 star rating! Can't wait to come back.

I’ve always seen this place as I’m driving past Winn-Dixie on Federal and I said to myself I wonder if that place is good! My partner and I decided to stop by the other night and order some food, And boy, we did not regret it! The food was absolutely savory and delicious cooked perfection, juicy, plump, crispy, and all the right places the fajitas were steaming and beautifully, hot flavorful, and yummy! We will definitely make this place our favorite Mexican place in Fort Lauderdale and will be going back again and again
Whether you're craving the bold flavors of the Pacific coast or the comforting staples of a Mexican kitchen, Jalisco delivers an authentic culinary experience that avoids the typical tourist traps. Set in a relaxed, welcoming environment, the restaurant manages to strike that perfect balance between high-quality ingredients and approachable, casual dining.
Huge menu of authentic dishes. Serve beer and cocktails. Authentic workers. Decor is nice and makes u feel as if in Mexico. Service was excellent. Great prices. All my food was great. Will be back.
Excellent food. Great flavours with great prices. Very speedy and decent portions. They've been in business for 30 years for a reason. Will be going back next time in Fort Lauderdale. Everything from the homemade chips and salsa, to the main course, to the best horchatta I've ever had and a huge ice cream for dessert, was incredible. Highly recommend. This isn't the expensive tourist trap you're going to find on Las Olas, this is real good food.
This place was sooooo delicious! Churrasco steak was so good and the chicken soup they served, amazing! Indescribable how wonderful the experience was and the food. Just come here to see for yourself. Well worth the random stop, I promise.
We are from out of town, but looked up good Meixcan and Jalisco popped up. It's a smaller place, but don't let that stop you. The food and service were bomb!! So, so good!
If you're looking for an escape from the flashy, overpriced spots on Las Olas, Jalisco Restaurante on Federal Highway is the move. It’s that rare breed of "hole-in-the-wall" that manages to feel both cozy and legitimately authentic. Why It’s Worth the Visit • The Food: This isn't "Tex-Mex"—it’s real-deal Mexican comfort food. The al pastor tacos are a masterclass in balance, and if you’re feeling hungry, their molcajetes are legendary (and definitely shareable). • The Vibe: It’s unpretentious and family-oriented. You’ll see locals, families, and solo diners all coexisting over baskets of warm chips and some of the best salsa in Broward County. • The Value: In a city where dinner can easily break the bank, Jalisco remains refreshingly affordable without cutting corners on quality. Pro Tips • The Margaritas: They don't skimp on the tequila. Be warned. • Weekends: It can get packed during peak hours, but the service is usually quick and friendly enough that the wait doesn't feel like a chore.
Was looking for some Mexican food... Yes 30 years in business, really nice staff.. Met Dan. He's awesome! The spicy marg was great (didn't put too much sour mix). I'm a Latin food lover so thank you for the experience!

Staff were lovely ladies; food was delicious and sizable portions; and the price was right. A chill, spacious old-school American-Mexican resto bar with great booths and diner stool bar vibes!
This place has great food, very reasonable prices, very clean, the service is great the staff are very friendly. Highly recommend.

Lovely authentic Mexican/Spanish restaurant right on Federal. I ordered enchiladas (one beef, one chicken) which came with rice and refried beans. Decor was very cute and colorful and service was really good. I didn't try, but I hear the margaritas are excellent so if you drink, I recommend ordering one. Awesome spot!!
Even though the actual location is a bit strange (no windows in one of their dining rooms and tables very close together), I must say the food was really good and the service was superb. I really enjoyed everything we ordered and everyone was very attentive. The music was a bit loud but that wasn't a deal breaker. It's definitely a good place to eat yummy food.
It was a decent place . The food has a go taste . Not expensive. I order over the phone ad it was ready within 15 minutes.
Starters delicous chips 2 kinds of salsa and a cup of hearty chicken rice soup sooo good ..large portions tried fajita 2nd time there very good .
Food was good service was ok yellow rice had no flavor snapper was delicious and flavorful
Small and charming restaurant with good food and a friendly staff. I like the vibe. My friends and I were acting goofy and the staff dealt with us with grace, and we made sure to leave a good tip. The food here is solid, delicious, and reliable. I definitely recommend.
Jalisco Mexican & Spanish Restaurant has been serving Fort Lauderdale for many years. Today was our first ever visit. We have been thinking of going but never made it happen. Possibly because not being sure of the menu. We went very early in the evening a little before 5 pm. The restaurant and the people were very inviting. There were other tables of people. They offer a lunch special menu that serves until 3:30 pm. Our server greeted us and was fantastic throughout the dining experience. The menu is full of offerings from traditional Mexican to Spanish dishes and even American standard items. There was an extensive drink menu. The server brought us a basket of Tortilla chips and 2 salsas - spicier and other sweeter. We both had a cup of the chicken soup with rice. It was packed with shredded chicken and vegetables in a good chicken broth. For entrées I had the chicken Enchilada Suizas and the other entrée was chicken Sizzling Fajitas. All was very good and comforting. The restaurant and food was very reminiscent of a good hometown Mexican restaurant. Oh, the prices were very reasonable. If you have not been to Jalisco it is time to definitely give them a try. Looking forward to going back to try more items.
Went here and had dinner. The atmosphere was good. The service was nice. The waitress was attentive the atmosphere well I gave it for stars. Margaritas were good. For me, my food was kind of not really flavorful. The salsa they provided was spicy, but did not have that fresh taste that I was looking for. I did not try any of the Spanish flair that they offered so I can’t say a lot about it. The fajitas, though were hot and tasty sizzling as they were brought to the table. So if you’re in the Fort Lauderdale area, you might want to try this place for lunch as they have a busy New I’m sure you’ll be able to find something to your liking. The bathrooms were clean but small. It is conveniently located downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Good spot for dinner few drinks fish was very good

I've been here a few times now and would recommend it. The staff is always very friendly and the food is good & reasonably priced. The vibe is also cool with the lights.
Our favorite old style Mexican diner. Food always consistent. Service efficient.\nThe Texas Enchiladas are a frequent life saver for this Texas transplant!

Being a native Texan, I’ve been nervous to try Mexican or Tex-Mex since moving to FL. The reviews and a recommendation led me here and my fears were well founded. The salsa was actually quite good, but the chips were just ok as they were too thick. The enchiladas I had were just ok as well, the sauce was more like a gravy...very little flavor. The beans and rice were good though which was nice. Meat in the enchiladas was pretty decent too. Finally the margarita was one of the worst I’ve ever had. Still a margarita so I’ll drink it either way. But I wouldn’t recommend. Overall Food 3* Value 4* Drinks 2*
Mambo combo included 1 chicken enchilada, 1 beef taco, and 1 chili relleno, yellow rice and refried beans. The beans were excellent, the enchilada was flavorless, I took out a bite of chicken to find some flavor and it seemed either boiled or steamed in salt only, the ground beef was also flavorless, rice was more Caribbean style but good. I only had one bite of the relleno. I am not a picky eater at all, but I only ate the rice and beans. They were not stingy on the cheese which covered the plate but it didn’t make up for lack of flavor. The service was great , prompt and friendly. I had read other not so good reviews but wanted to try for myself. Maybe some of the other meals are tasty, but I won’t be back. This food was not Mexican or even Spanish.
Great food and atmosphere but just ok service. Server barely checked on me at all and was like five feet away from me the whole night. So that could improve. The music was live but not to loud that you couldn't enjoy yourself. The food came out hot and quickly. The complimentary chips and salsa was good as well. I would have to think about going back due to the service but overall a decent spot
The best and only thing you should come here for is the chicken soup. The rest is just really mediocre. The Mexican stir fry tastes like meh Chinese. The garden salad is just shredded taco salad on a plate not even the good parts of the lettuce. The fried plantains were mushy. Honestly just come for the chicken soup. It’s delicious.

After finding out taco craft was closed we gound this place a little further down the road. We found that they had live music which was nice to have but kind of small space and didnt feel like it was necessary. We thought we could make a happy hour but this place only has a 2for1 Margarita deal and no taco Tuesday deal. The margaritas were not good. They batch make them but they tasted like pure mix and stale. The fajitas were good but small portion and my friend enjoyed the enchilada but not the rice.
I love coming here for their chicken soup. Very good. \n\nA few times I had a few other food items and no real complaints. There are only a few Mexican restaurants around that use refried beans. …
Partner and I tried this restaurant on recommendation of a friend. parking is cramped. Greeted quickly. Typical interior of a Mexican place. We had already decided to try the fajitas. Or…
I came here tonight cause when I was looking for restaurants this one looked good, ,even though it was almost a half hour from me, my son brought me as an early Valentine gift since he works during the week, I ordered the bigger chimichanga that cost more than the smaller one and told the waitress Only meat and cheese and she repeated it back to me and asked for queso to dip it, what I got was the big chimichanga loaded with rice, tomato, lettuce and stuff, but I didn’t send it back, I just stuck with it, and pulled the stuff out to just eat the meat and cheese, what really upset me was when I asked for alittle more queso the waitress told me she couldn’t give it to me that I was lucky I got the first one. Really? If I sent my food back they would of been out more money wasting all that food instead of just giving me alittle side of queso. As you see on the receipt it says only meat and cheese. Yet they put everything
I got the lunch option of rice beans and cheese enchilada for about $12. It’s not very yummy. Too much salt and they are not using good cheese on this. It tastes like a Walmart enchilada from the frozen aisle. Overall it’s okay because I’m super hungry but I don’t think I’ll be going back
We've been coming here for years. HOWEVER the past couple times the steak was chewy, so the next time we ordered chicken and shredded beef. The chicken was not flavored, the shredded beef no flavor either. Not sure what has changed the lately. But will not be going back for a long time.

I didn’t post this immediately because I got violently ill by the next morning, but after finishing my meal I found a dead cockroach that had been soaking in my water cup. When I told the waitress she was very nonchalant about it (as if it happens often). We did get our bill comped, but I want other people to know that clearly this place is infested with roaches. I now see that I’m not the only one with a similar experience. The next day stomach flu was not worth it.
Tried it more than twice now same issues each time, rice is quite overcooked and not flavorful, the quesadillas have all been very soggy as if they went immediately into a sealed box to steam up and the chicken inside look like it was boiled or steamed, no sear at all. Would not recommend.
I went to spend a good time with co-workers , first parking is imposible, after doing valet . To order your food takes 20 mns and getting food on ur table extra 45mns …. Prices do none show on the menu. Very bad experience. None going back never again

This was one of the worst places I have eaten at in a long time, and I genuinely am not one to complain. When we got there, we were told to find our own seats. I got chicken fajitas that were undercooked and my horchata was super gritty and poorly made. It tasted really bad for horchata, which is kind of hard to do with a mix like I assume they used. My spouse got a different steak dish served on a dirty plate that was clearly not fully washed before being reused. Not even 10 minutes into eating, we saw a massive and I mean MASSIVE roach crawling on the wall and nobody even cared. This prompted me to look into the history of restaurant and I saw their extensive history of health code violations, including roaches. I wish I had not paid a dollar for this extremely undesirable food at this unclean establishment. I don't understand how they have over a four star rating genuinely. I was so disappointed after being so excited to find what looked like an authentic restaurant.
