I came here with four of my elderly Chinese family members. We were genuinely surprised at the level of care, service and quality of food that we received. My family doesn’t speak English and they had all of the Chinese servers and chefs come over to greet us and take our order. They were lovely, and so was the food. Cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!
A Step Above Your Everyday Takeout! 🥡🔥🍜 Wan’s takes everything you love about classic, no-frills Chinese takeout—and steps it up big time. From the flavor-packed recipes to the surprisingly warm and attentive service, there’s honestly a lot to be thrilled about! And a special shoutout to Jesse behind the bar—super friendly, welcoming, and just adds to the great vibe of the place.
Since I was at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood airport on business, I had to get some lunch before I head up to Palm Beach Airport. So Christina Wan's was the place to be. 15 minute drive with plenty of parking, I went in and spoke to ALEX, and asked him about Beef Chow Fun, he said that they make it exactly like New York Style. That sold me!!! He is the owner. I had one to go with a hot and sour soup. After a short and brief conversation about food, I paid for my meal and headed north. My beef chow fun was delish, flavorful, temperature hot, and hitting the palate with delight!!! The beef was tender and soft and giving me an afternoon food coma!!! It's the wok hey!!! Wow!!! The hot and sour soup was just enough kick to it, nice and spicy with that nice taste of vinegar, mmmmmm. Add that fresh crunchy fried noodles added and it was a perfect pint of soup!!! Great conversation with Alex and Sammie!!! I'm so full!!! I will be back!!! Highly recommend!!! Check out this place on Instagram and Facebook!!!🥢🥢🥢
Wans was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! 5/5 for everything. We drove from Miami, which was about a 45 min ride with light traffic. If it wasn't for the positive review from FOX 25 news this morning, we would have never of known this place existed lol. We ordered quite a bit of food so hope you're ready to read it all lol 😆....to start off, upon entering the restaurant we were greeted with a warm welcome and bright smile from the host. The establishment was clean and the decor was exceptionally oriental. My party and I were the only guests at the time so we could pretty much be seated anywhere. We chose a booth. Our server was polite and soft spoken. She asked if it was our first time here, "yes" so she then gave us the updates of what was new, popular, spicy, etc...a nice through yet briefing of the menu. She asked our beverages of choice me; green chai tea wicked good, a margarita for my homegirl (as the bartender was being taught how to make it, something I thought could have been done prior to shift), and an unsweetened ice tea for my significant other (sugars brought in a cute organized box). The menus are old fashioned (stapled papers) front and back which was fine for a few of us, however if you're into the whole scanning code you might be a bit thrown off. After reviewing a very wide selection, we were ready to place our orders. Listed below is what we decided on starting with our appetizers: * egg drop soup/wonton soup * beef spare ribs (6 pcs) * spring rolls (2 pcs) we ordered 3 * cucumber salad Main entrée: * shrimp fried rice * veggie lo mein * szechuan shrimp * garlic string beans * peking duck (1/2 size) * white rice * orange beef
"Bland" days are over—this was fantastic! I almost didn't order because of the 4.1-star rating, but I am so glad I did. I read through the old reviews from 5+ years ago complaining about flavor, and I’m here to tell you: that is not the case anymore. The food we got tonight was incredible. The freshness really stood out—you can tell they've upgraded their ingredients. We ordered delivery and it arrived hot and delicious. For the price, the quality is unbeatable. If you've been hesitant because of old reviews, give them another shot. They are definitely back.

Great, classic Chinese fare! Compliments to Alex for running this amazing restaurant. The host, Luca, and the rest of the team provided excellent service. The food was delicious. The Ha Gow, Singapore Mei Fun, and salt/pepper shrimp were a highlight for me.
We had on our bucket list to get to Wans after its closure and reopening. We picked a day to drive to FLL without realizing it was closed. We made the trek again and boy are we glad we did. We went for lunch with a mission of having the Peking duck. We started with classic apps of mixed soup, egg rolls, ribs, and pork dumplings. The soup was a rich broth with light wontons, extremely flavorful. Eggs rolls were classic and served hot and crisp without heavy oil, filled with crunchy cabbage mix and pork. The lightly fried pork dumplings had a light thinner textured wrap, shying away from a thick outer side. And the ribs were fantastically flavored with a beautiful glaze, plentiful, and cooked to perfection. The grand finale of the Peking duck was everything we had hoped for. For 2, we ordered the half duck which had a beautifully colored crisp skin with a moist flavorful meat to place in the accompanying wraps with a side of slivered scallions and hoisin. We ate it all and left extremely satisfied, wanting to come back very soon to sample more varied and traditional house specialty dishes.
First time having dinner at Wan's tonight, and it was a great experience all around. The restaurant is beautiful, service was perfect, and the food was absolutely delicious. Chef Alex is a very talented chef and so kind and personable. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, and it certainly shows. Will definitely be back!
Delicious Food and Outstanding Service at Wan’s! My husband and I ordered Wan’s in Fort Lauderdale and had a fantastic experience. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken combo, which came with vegetable fried rice and a vegetable spring roll. Everything was perfectly cooked, with the chicken crispy and a tangy, flavorful sauce that wasn’t overly sweet. My husband got the shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour soup, and he loved both! The food was absolutely delicious with generous portions. The service was excellent! Wan’s is a great spot for classic Chinese dishes in Fort Lauderdale. We’ll definitely order again!
We’ve always been a fan of WAN’s and Alex has done great things. The staff is very friendly and we love the food. This is our family Friday night dinner every week. Even my vegans (we have two) love eating here. We bring friends and family and always people have a great time. We are lucky to have a great local spot like this.
I can’t express how good this place is. I was met by Alex at the front door and had a nice conversation with him about the restaurant and food. I went to Wans because I saw him on social media explaining all his food. I’m from New York and had to go and visit when I was in Ft Lauderdale. Boy they didn’t disappoint. Will be going back
Cecilia is lovely she is so accommodating adding a warm inviting feeling. Wonderful evening delicious Fare Friendly charming vibes. Annie makes sure all the complimentary items are replenished Everyone is Courteous and catering to the guests. Absolutely Enjoyable Genuine Favorite Wan's
We’ve now dined at Wan’s twice since its 2025 revival, and both experiences cemented its place as a local favorite for American Chinese fare—delivered with remarkable efficiency, warmth, and a noticeable upgrade in protein and produce quality. First Visit: We arrived just after 7pm to a packed house, with a 15-minute wait for a table. Despite the crowd, service was smooth and never rushed. Here’s what we ordered: • Hot and Sour Soup: Generously filled with tofu, mushrooms, and pork. Good vinegar tang, but missing the pepper heat—remedied with a side of chile sauce. • Egg Rolls (Appetizer): House-made, crisp but bland, mostly cabbage. The only dish we wouldn’t repeat. • Szechuan Pork (Main): Tender shredded pork and vegetables in a garlicky brown sauce. Savory but mild; extra chile sauce brought it to life. • House Fried Rice (Side): Excellent wok hei, well-balanced mix of egg, shrimp, and meats. Total comfort food. The standout here was the fried rice and the overall quality of the proteins and vegetables. Second Visit: Returning earlier—5:45pm after the early birds—the dining room started quiet but filled quickly. Once again, service was sharp and efficient; we enjoyed a larger meal and still finished comfortably in under an hour. • Thin-skinned Fried Pork Dumplings (Appetizer): Absolute must-order. Crispy, juicy, packed with pork flavor—far superior to the egg rolls. • Ja Ja Mian (Main): Hearty noodles in a mild, pork meat sauce—Cantonese-American take on zhajiangmian. Good texture, but like other mains, benefits from extra chile sauce. • Eggplant with Garlic Sauce + Shrimp (Main): Sweet, glossy sauce, perfectly cooked shrimp, and fresh, tender eggplant. Adding chile sauce balances the sweetness. • Crispy Baby Bok Choy with Garlic (Side): The sleeper hit—light, fresh, perfectly sautéed, highlighting excellent produce. • Cocktails: Both the Mai Tai (classic, dark rum-heavy, and strong) and the White Sesame Old Fashioned (smooth, nutty, Japanese whiskey) were generous and well-crafted. What Didn’t Work: • Egg Rolls: Only tried on the first visit—bland, mostly cabbage, and easily skipped. • Spicing Overall: Our only real complaint. Most dishes are mild by default, clearly tuned to the local palate. Want more flavor? Just ask for their chile sauce—they’re happy to oblige. Food Quality: The proteins and vegetables on both visits were a cut above what you’ll find at most neighborhood spots—shrimp are plump and sweet, pork is tender, and every vegetable tasted crisp and fresh. Atmosphere & Bonus: Wan’s is always clean, comfortable, and buzzing with a loyal, mostly non-Asian crowd. Christina Wan herself was greeting guests on our second visit—officially “retired,” but clearly still part of the weekend magic. Bottom Line: Wan’s sets the standard for service, consistency, and ingredient quality in SoFlo’s American Chinese scene. Skip the egg rolls, focus on the dumplings, mains, veggie sides, and cocktails, and don’t be shy about asking for more spice. After two visits, we’re already looking forward to the next.
Hidden Gem for Chinese Cuisine - Christina Wan Restaurant Review I stumbled upon Christina Wan restaurant after work, and it turned out to be right across from my current residence! Although I had to wait for around 5 minutes before anyone noticed me, the friendly Asian lady at the bar took my order promptly. I opted for their house rice, mandarin beef, honey garlic chicken, and some egg rolls. The food was quickly delivered, and the packaging was excellent. The egg roll was decent, but the real star was their house rice - absolutely delightful! The mandarin beef was good but lacked a bit of salt and had too many onions. As for the honey garlic chicken, it was okay, but I'd explore other menu items next time. I found the ambiance cozy and inviting, typical of Asian restaurants, with a classic yet elegant decor. I plan to dine in next time to experience the full atmosphere. Overall, I rate Christina Wan 4 stars with the potential to reach 5 on my next visit if the seasoning improves. I'm definitely returning to savor more dishes.
First time there. I found the food to be your normal average Chinese food. Everything was good. I had hot sour soup, crab rangoon, fried pork dumplings and hunan beef and egg roll. The rangoon was pretty darn good and rest was just Chinese food that's same as any other Chinese place. I'll order again sometime for sure. It is abit on the higher price Chinese places.
Fantástico muy buena comida
Food is delicious. Unfortunately, the experience while placing my phone order was not great. The person who answered the call seemed unaware that the item I requested was on the menu and spoke in a rude tone, as if I was ordering something incorrect. I understand mistakes happen, but a bit more patience and politeness would go a long way, especially for customers ordering for the first time. For reference, the order was placed on Feb 13 around 1:45 PM for crispy tofu with General sauce.
Tried Wans for the first time. The general’s chicken was moist, but overly breaded and not too flavorful. The Hawaiian shrimp was pretty good. The wonton soup only had three wontons and the insides were a bit unusual and the soup was pretty bland. Overall, wasn’t overly impressed after hoping they would become our go-to place for Chinese.
Do not go expecting authentic Chinese food. Supposedly the best South Florida has to offer but there is no spice at all. If you like Szechuan this is not the place for you. Couldn’t tell you the last time I saw fried Chinese noodles with duck sauce and mustard. But they put them on the table here. If you like bland food- though perfectly cooked which I greatly appreciate- this is the place for you.
Maybe it was the dish I ordered but very mediocre at best. Spring roll was mushy inside, egg drop soup was not filled with enough egg, shrimp with lobster sauce was below average. Would not return to the place. Small portions that didn't taste good and high prices. Not a great recipe for success.
