My wife and I were really impressed with the food and customer service. Denise one of the managers came out to speak to us about our experience. She was very nice and friendly. Perfect spot for a nice dinner out!
We finally tried Il Pomodoro Restaurant tonight for our anniversary and it was fabulous! Our server Alicia was very kind and attentive and Denise was the wonderful manager also checking up on us. We started with mussels fra diavolo and then my husband had the Chicken Toscano and I had the Spaghetti Caprese. We finished the meal with the chocolate cannoli. Everything was fabulous and we will be back soon to try some other dishes!
We were there on Mother’s Day. The restaurant is a bit busy. They have special menu on holiday. We had the Veal francaise pasta 🍝 Ossu Buco Mussels Marinara, eggplant and pizza. Everything is beautiful like as in photos. I really like the mussels and came with perfect sauce. I am not big fan of Italian food but my aunt said the food is delicious and she is Italian.
we stopped by here for dinner last night and it was overall fantastic. the two young men serving were well-trained and excellent. the food was yummy, the wine was good. chicken parm was great and i loved the sauce on my gnocchi. the chocolate cannoli was AMAZING!!!!! it tasted like chocolate cheesecake, it was so rich! we will definitely be coming back for more. the menu is large and needs updating, they could probably cut it down by half and redesign/refresh it.
I love good Italian food. We had a fantastic dinner here yesterday; it checked all the boxes. We came for the mussels. They were awesome. Everything else was just the icing on the cake. All three of us loved our meals and can't wait to go back. You should make reservations. It fills up quickly. We were able to make same day reservations, but probably would have missed out if we just had shown up.
As a family we came to Il Pomodoro Restaurant for the first time to celebrate a birthday and we were blown away with the phenomenal service from our server Mary and manager Randy. The food was amazing and I would absolutely be back to try more of the delicious dishes on the menu. Thank you Mary and Randy! See you again soon. 😃🍷🍝🍰
It was really surprising. I had ordered a sausage sandwich and I was expecting the standard fare. Sausage and mushrooms a few peppers on a hoagie roll. That is not what I got. It was quite a generous portion I ended up having to take half of it home. I really like the atmosphere It's not a huge dining room so it's intimate I can't wait to go back with the wife. Update 8/25/2022 Wife and I just had dinner and it was a wonderful experience. Everything from the drinks, to the desert was beyond our expectations. Wife was over the moon about Alfredo, and the tiramisu. This was the perfect place for a date night dinner. Update 11/23/2022 Another wonderful meal. Love that I can take my wife out, it's a perfect place for a cozy evening.
Great flavor; romantic atmosphere and great service by Angie!! We will be back.
Outstanding italian home made food. Very cozy place. Great service.
Absolutely amazing! My family and I went here for dinner. No wait. Super friendly staff and amazing food. I got the rigatoni bolognese which was incredible! Everyone at my table loved the food!
I had been looking on google for an Authentic Italian place to try with a large group of my family. We are so happy that we found Il Pomodoro. From the great initial customer service experience ( Coming in without a reservation with a group of 10) and being seated quickly , to the AMAZING food, we had such a great experience. Everyone tried something different, and we were all amazed to find that each dish was just that much better. Everything was freshly made, and very authentic. Our server Kylie was fantastic with her kindness, great suggestions and attentiveness, she truly helped us have an amazing first experience here at Il Pomodoro. The owners Randy and Denise have created an amazing atmosphere for dining out with family or a date night. We will definitely be back. Five stars!!!
This was our first time there and we’re so surprised how wonderful it was, the server, Jessica, was awesome. The chicken parmigiana was so delicious and my husband lasagna was the best. We met Denise and Randy and would recommend that you stop there for dinner. You will not regret it. Oh and the tiramisu was so delicious.
A hidden gem here in South Ft Myers! The food, service and atmosphere consistently delivers! My family and I look forward to their food every time we are in the area. From their appetizers, pizza, pasta dishes right through to their desserts… always fresh and cooked to perfection! We also recently used them for catering a family gathering and we were equally pleased as were our guests. It is evident how dedicated Randy and Denise are to making your dining an exceptional experience!
My wife and I have not been here for a few years, but we loved this place for special occasions. This past week, she won a bet we made with each other and chose IL Pomodoro as her prize. The last time we were here, they refused to make modifications to my wife’s entree. Additionally, I requested a special dish that they acknowledged they used to make. They declined to make it for that visit (years ago). During our last visit this past week, they were very accommodating, a complete reversal, and even expressed surprise at their refusals years ago. Our server, Jessica, (this last visit) was awesome! My requested dish: Tour Of Italy. Still not on the menu, but they do offer as a special on certain days of the week, currently. My wife’s: a customized version of a spicy shrimp pasta with a red sauce. I forgot what they called it. The tiramisu was eyes-rolling good! My wife and I love the garlic (?) bread; I liked its density, but my wife would prefer it be more airy and light. Decor is still the same. Parking is still not an issue. The manager’s customer-focus (I’m sorry I neglected to get her name) was quite exemplary as well! She went ‘above and beyond’ for me!
Went there with my wife for a casual night out had the pizza and it was excellent. Service was also very good and the Ambiance was very nice. I want to go back and try some of their other dishes
I've been at this restaurant each time I've visited Florida. I'm sorry I don't know the waitresses name but she is absolutely terrific. The owner, I'm sorry I forgot her name too, knows my father in law and came to our table to ask about the family. There aren't many places to have this great service. The menu has so many offerings and the food is wonderful.
This is a very homey Italian restaurant with a smaller intimate dining room. I would recommend putting in reservations. This place fills up. A lot of great options and Italian classics. The stuffed tuscan chicken has been tempting me to take the 3 hour trip back to Fort Myers just to have it a second time. If you live in this area and have not ate here, you are doing yourself an extreme disservice.
Delicious food, nice wine list and lovely atmosphere
Food is so good!! Big portions and great prices!! I’m terrible with names, but our server was awesome, she’s there tuesdays and Thursdays, so you should definitely visit her. Our party had my wife and I, our 4 children, and my Grandmother. Waitress was patient and attentive and so friendly!! The meatballs are amazing as well!!
Very good food and service. Great for the family
What a fantastic family restaurant. Homemade sauce...oh my that was yummy. The portions are well balanced. Truly friendly staff. Open and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend checking them out.
Wonderful family owned business to dine in. The Italian wedding soup and Mama's meatball appetizer was delicious. We had the pork special and chicken balsamic. Everything was well seasoned and came out hot.
Had them cater my son & almost daughter in law rehearsal dinner. The food was amazing.Delivered with loving care and very prompt. I ordered for 30 people only had 25 and everyone almost ate everything it was so delicious. I ordered, chicken francais, meatballs and 3 cheese rigatoni and chocolate cannoli's for desert. Highly recommend. Next time I am back in Fort Myers we are definitely going to their restaurant for dinner💝
My wife and I ate there recently & thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was delicious & the service was great. My pesto penne pasta was truly the best I’ve ever had! We’ll definitely be going back
I recently ordered to go for my son and the family as they just had a new baby and we were all at the hospital. We sat and enjoyed a cocktail and fresh baked rolls while waiting. We were truly treated like family. It will be a memory from the birth of my first grandson forever. Thank you! We told so many about you! We will be back! Nikki (Mimi)
If you enjoy Italian food, this will be your new favorite. Any food you get here will be good. The staff are always friendly and the food comes you quick. It’s usually not too crowded, which makes the experience even better. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you should definitely try it soon.
Excellent! Warm artisan rolls to start. We had lasagna and chicken parmesan.
If I could give them a 10 star rating I would! It was our first time trying them out and definitely won't be our last! The only thing I regret is not talking a picture of our dinners! It was hard to choose from such a good menu. My husband had the Fettuccine alfredo with chicken, I had Penne al vodka with sweet Italian sausage. Both were so fresh, hot and delicious! Our waitress was fantastic! We look forward to returning soon! So glad we found this gem.
Il Pomodoro has been such a special place for us for a few years now. My mom loved it so much and always wanted to go for all of our special occasions when we would visit. They always made her feel so special, especially on her birthday. We sadly lost her a few months ago, and when we wanted to do a memorial luncheon for her, we knew it would be the perfect place! Denise was so wonderful to help me plan the perfect luncheon. She was so thoughtful and sweet and made everything so special. She even put lovely roses on each table and made sure we had enough space to put out photos of my mom and have our own area to make our speeches to honor my mom properly. We were never rushed and everyone was so respectful and lovely to us! The food and wine was delicious! It was the perfect way to remember my mom, and my dear friend and I even went back on her birthday to celebrate a few weeks later. I can't say enough about the service and caring everyone has shown to us over the years and especially that day! Our family looks forward to returning very soon when we are in Fort Myers again!! Thanks to Denise and everyone there!
Nice place. They only serve beer & wine, so no Martini’s! We ordered the Calamari. Usually when you order Calamari at most restaurant’s the plate is over flowing. Very small portion, at $13.75. The lobster ravioli and the gnocchi were excellent. FYI this restaurant charges a 3.5% service charge for credit cards. Recommend
First time trying this place, trying to add some new places in the rotation. Two dishes caught my eye I order for my special needs son since he’s nonverbal so I always pick his cuisine. I ordered the gnocchi cone fungi, and also the chicken and spinach cannelloni.. The gnocchi definitely was flavorful, but it lacked in quantity. I always see if I can count the amount of pieces I get it’s not enough. It tasted great. It was just a little bit weak on the portion. The chicken and spinach cannelloni had great flavor a unique dish they just were skimpy on the sauce again if I was dining in, I’m pretty sure I could’ve requested more of both. I will definitely eat here again and try other dishes. It’s a quaint nice little place. Also the garlic rolls and or knots were great. They were soft and fresh and they were not doused in garlic, where your fingers your breath and your car smelled like you were warding off vampires.
I had Calsone with spinach and mushrooms. It was very good, but light on the mushrooms, and I would have preferred fresh spinach (vs sautéed). My wife had tortellini with shrimp, peas, and mushrooms (see pics). It was very good. Our friend had salmon. She said it was delicious. The portions are very big. The server was friendly but not as frequent as she should have been. E.g., my water, which is my preferred beverage, was not filled as frequently as it should have been, especially since the cup is maybe 8 oz. Also, there were only two other couples in the restaurant during our meal (we may have arrived just as the doors opened for dinner..?). Regardless, the temperature was nice, and it was clean. I would go back if in the area. I hope your visit is just as nice or better.
I thought it was great. I got the stuff shells, and my husband got spaghetti and substituted the meatball for veal, they were veryaccommodating. I thought the food was delicious.Great service.Nice place!!
Very nice and queant place for dinner. The food and service were very good. A definite must for Italian food.
The food was delicious, garlic bread is the best and great service.
Went to IlPomodoro for a nice lunch. Food was good, we had stuffed cannelloni, lasagna and chicken parm. All were good and served with a delicious Caesar salad. Service ok but we were surprised bread wasn’t served with our entrees.
First time trying this impressive from the outside but unfortunately lacking on the inside Italian restaurant. Excellent service and excellent food. But when I go out for dinner I want 3 things. Inviting ambience being one of them and unfortunately this place doesn't have it. Run down chairs and tables with white paper thrown on top, cheapest silverware you can have, decor that I can't even explain and just a lack of effort to draw you in for a nice dining experience.
Got a take out pizza here, Excellent! We live close by and will definitely be back to dine in. I'll keep you updated.
We got to go food. It was good and quick service.. it was pricey and would have expected a little better food, however still really good food, just needs better pricing.
There was a long hair in my husband's salad. There were two servers, our server was a very nice and apologetic gentleman with short wavy hair and another server helping him, a gal with long hair, pulled back but styled with hairs falling in and around her face. We were the only two people in the restaurant and they were the only two servers along with the chefs who came out later just as we were leaving to have their lunch. Everyone seemed friendly enough. Our server asked if my husband still wanted a salad and then brought out a new one, with many apologies. However no other compensations were offered. My house salad was delicious. I opted for the house made balsamic with an extra of bleu cheese crumbles. The pasta sauce was tasty but not delectable by any means. The noodles were cooked to perfection in my opinion. As well as the lasagna noodles but again the sauce was just mediocre.
So my wife and I went for the first time. We made reservations. We walk in and no hostess so we stand there waiting. She finally walks by and says she’ll be with us as do other servers. Then another couple comes in behind us. The hostess is now attentive because the other couple must be regulars. She says to them “you have a reservation “ and they don’t so we will get you seated. She never asked if we had a reservation or we would have gladly told her. My wife immediately corrected her and informed her of our reservation. We get seated. Restaurant has only beer and wine no juices or alcohol. The service was good the food mediocre. Ceasar dressing tasted like creamy Italian, meatball appetizer was very dry, my wife’s rigatoni entree had big hunks of cheese on top that probably should have been melted before serving. So many great Italian places in Ft Myers and this was just okay for me,
I never thought it would turn out to be such disappointment. We went there for dinner to celebrate mothers day. I had the 4 cheese baked rigatoni. It was tasteless. They barely put a teaspoon of breadcrums on top. The tortellini was just as bad. Just bland. Our daughter paid the bill. She then requested a detail of the bill only to find out she had paid the bill for the table next to ours. They then proceeded to issue a credit. The second bill included 5 glasses of wine instead of 3 which is what we had. Then when they brought the third bill it included a 3.5% surcharge because we were using a credit card. We were not advised of this by the server. I had never been to a restaurant where they charge you for using a credit card. Our server was Chari. She never took ownership of the issues as if it was someone elses fault. Really ! She never apologized and when I pointed that out to her she just turned around and walked away. Needless to say that the combination of quality of food, service, additional charges and multiple mistakes on the bill made Il Pomodoro a terrible choice. I believe the 3☆s was more than they deserve.
Went for dinner tonight, I have been there many times. I ordered the mussels and typically they’re very good however tonight they were very chewy, I had to keep spitting them out, unable to chew them. I told the waitress and she took the ones left on my plate and she said the people in the kitchen were going to cook them a little bit more. She brought them back and they were still chewy. I gave her my plate back as I was unable to eat them, they were not edible. I probably ate three if that, the rest I had to spit out, very disappointing. I don’t think that I will go back again. I would have thought that the management would have at least offered a discount or take them off the bill but they did not. Very bad customer service!!!!
Our group went there for Italian food. First, our waiter forgot about the salad our table ordered. Second, the bread rolls came in cold at the center. When asked for a new batch of bread rolls, same thing happened. The food took forever to come to the table. Gratuity was fixed at 20% despite the mentioned service.
This restaurant's name means the tomato in Italian and their sauce is awful. I had the veal cardinale. Veal & eggplant overcooked and the sauce had no taste. My husband had the seafood over pasta with olive oil & garlic. It was butter & garlic. I'm 100% Italian. I cook & know food. They need a new cook. I won't be back.
Place was empty at 5:30 on a Wednesday night. The food was not good, I could not eat it. They did not charge me. But I won't go back.
This was a regular spot when the original owners ran it, and it was great. Food and service was top notch. Then we took some business people there, unknowing that it was under new ownership. It was an embarrassment. Hadn’t gone for many years. Then a neighbor told me how great the pizza is. So I tried it 2 nights ago. Placed the order online. I get there to find out the order was never put in. So a 35 minute wait, I go in, pay and when I get home, find the pizza is room temperature, the veggies aren’t even cooked… so that is the last attempt. I urge you to go elsewhere. I don’t know how anyone can say this place has good food. Very disappointed, again!
On Friday, January 15, I went in to have a meal from Elpomadora‘s. I have been going to Elpomadora‘s for years, and at first it was very good. It’s been going down, however since. Last night was the proof, I had a Sinatra entrée I had The appetizer eggroll. I had the meatballs appetizer. It’s a shame that I won’t be going there anymore they need to get the old chefs in there whoever they were using before. I had a beer waiting for my food and left.
I believe our grouper was past its fresh date. They offered replacement, but just couldn’t eat after that. The servers were excellent. Great Italian atmosphere. Delicious mozzarella planks. Delicious garlic knots.
Waiter forgot to put in 3 of our 4 orders then food came burnt and tasteless. Free dessert for our trouble.1st time having a tasteless cannoli. No sugar no chocolate chips. Will not be back!
