Great food. Great service. And all you can eat pickles and beans!!!!🤣 We really liked the beef ribs, bacon jalepeno Mac and cheese!!!

K

The food was absolutely delicious! It was a little confusing for a first timer how the restaurant worked at first, but it was easy enough after doing it once. Lots of seating, interesting art work and stuff on the walls. Prices are fair, servings are big, and again, food is delicious!

Pick your own meat off the grill and eyeball your sides. Free beans, bbq sauce, bread, and pickles. Sweet tea is solid but not too sweet. The peacan cobbler and apple cobbler are a must as well. The jalapeño Mac n cheese is creamy and spicy. Loved the pickled jalapeños that come on the side. Would definitely come back time after time!

Always our most favorite place to eat Bar-B-Que! We always make a stop here and eat when we are visiting anywhere within a 30 minute drive! The food is always the same, no matter when we choose to visit! And, every time we've brought someone new with us, they always agree it's the best Bar-B-Que they've ever eaten! The pork ribs are our favorites, as well as the apple or pecan cobbler. We were happy to have black eyed peas for new years as well as the normal pinto beans as a free side! I will say we were unhappy having to pay $5 to park on new years weekend. We have never had to pay to park here and were VERY close to leaving because of it. We did explain we were there to eat, but she said if we walk off the sidewalk, we would be fined if we didn't pay to park there. BECAUSE we had to pay to park, we took advantage and visited some of the Ft. Worth stockyards area.

Calling all BBQ lovers - if you haven't been to Coopers BBQ, you're seriously missing out! From the moment I walked in, I could smell the mouth-watering aroma of delicious smoked meats. The restaurant has a rustic and charming atmosphere, with an open flame grill that adds to the ambiance. But let's get to the food - I tried the brisket and it was absolutely heavenly. The meat was so tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. I also loved the variety of sides and sauces to choose from, each one as delicious as the last. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick and efficient. I left feeling satisfied and happy, already planning my next visit. If you're a fan of BBQ or just looking for a tasty and authentic dining experience, you won't regret stopping by Coopers BBQ. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you

First time to this location, usually go to the original one in Llano. Bbq is always amazing at Coopers. One of my go-to spots when I want real Texas bbq. Expect to pay a little more for this real Texas bbq, but you will truly enjoy it.

One of the many fabulous dining options at the Stockyard. At the entrance, you choose your meat options that is sold by the pound. Next station they weigh the meat and you can choose your sides. I had the ribs and sausage with the mac and cheese and some peach cobbler. Seating is picnic tables in a row.

C
Carlos Babcock

Pit style BBQ just north of the Stock Exchange. Probably some of the best BBQ in the DFW area. I had the Jalepeño Sausage, Ribs, pinto beans, potato salad, and corn.

B

Brant, the manager, was attentive and did a great job making our experience here top notch. We have been coming here for over 15 years, and he made sure we had the same great experience we have come to know and appreciate here. Thank you again for hiring great managers and staying consistent in your pit BBQ.

This is a good place for a family bar-b-cue dinner. The wifey and my adult kiddos enjoyed their dinner. I’d probably go more often to Cooper’s than Rudy’s. Unfortunately, the one near us closed.

Went with the family so We tried a wide variety of stuff. The Pork chop, Turkey & regular sausage were our favorite. The brisket was good. I personally didn't like the pulled pork sandwiches but others in our family did. The potato salad was a mustard base which the Mrs. Doesn't like Mustard. Cobbler was good we liked all flavors. Definitely a place to try if your near the stockyard in Fort Worth

S

It was delicious. You walk in and you pick your meat, followed by your sides and drinks. Picnic style long shared tables with napkins. Free beans, slices of bread, pickles, and onion. Really good. We paid $60 for all this food for two of us and had some left over.

Absolute best beef ribs around! My family and friends love this place. Every time we come to the Stockyards we stop here to eat. I alway buy extra to take home and eat on for a day or two!

On vacation from NYC and finally I get some good BBQ. The place is massive, everyone so welcoming and prices were affordable. Lots of parking and the decor is great. Thank you to the staff for making us feel welcomed.

I’m so glad we came to this BBQ restaurant. It was so tasty. My mother and I split: 1 beef rib, 1 sausage, 1/2 lbs of sliced brisket, loaded baked potato, perfect coleslaw, Mac n cheese, and corn on the cob. We finished it off with peach cobbler. The beans were sooooooo yummy. The BBQ sauce was Au jus like and was the perfect sauce to dip every bite in. They provided plenty of bread and the ice tea was absolutely perfect. The manager checked us out and he was so friendly and welcoming. The dining room was very clean and the whole restaurant was constantly being swept and tidied by staff. I definitely suggest coming here!

Excellent! Family style service and seating - meatbis ordered right from the grill and seating is at picnic tables. Had the brisket and potatoes from the smoker along with their complimentary side of beans and bread. The brisket was well cooked with a nice black bark and smokey flavor and was dipped in their barbecue sauce as it came off the grill. A light vinegar based sauce with a hint of spice.. Everyone in our party was very pleased with their dinners - nothing went to waste. To top it off, all the staff were pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. 1 lb Brisket dinner for two with potatoes ~ $50. WORTH IT!

If you are looking for authentic Texas pit bar-b-cue stop at Cooper's by the Stockyards. The food is delicious. It's set up like a cafeteria. You order the cut of meat, backed potato, move down the line to get mac&cheese, potato salad, and all different types of coblers for dessert. The bbq meat is charged by the pound, so you ask the cook to cut off the portion size you would like. I had a 1/4 of brisket, 1/4 of sirloin, and a 1/4 sausage with mac&cheese. Everything was cooked to perfection 👌 I highly recommend Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que if you are at Fort Worth Stockyards. You will leave full and happy.

The food at Coopers, never disappoints. Choose your meat(s), sides and desserts. All the bread and pinto beans you can eat. YUM!!! To top it off it's close to the Stockyards. Nothing more Texan than BBQ and Cowtown.

Every time we’re in Texas, this is our go to for BBQ! I think this must be one of the top casual BBQ in all of TX. The brisket is too die for, careful you may eat too much. Steak is outstanding and the ribs will make you slap your grandma. You’re buying meat by the pound btw. Eat indoors or out, food tastes just as good. If you’re not dieting, come clog your arteries, it’s worth it! Update: returned again! December 2022. Same as ever, best brisket I’ve ever eaten. In Illinois we have nothing that comes even close. I’ll likely bring back 10lbs of brisket in my luggage. Heats up real well.

Our second time visiting Cooper’s in Fort Worth. Food is delicious and melts in your mouth. Yum!!! Would be great if they had a sampler platter to allow us to sample various items off the Pit.

Very long line, but worth the wait. Great brisket, not so much of a fan of their watery bbq sauce but still good. The pecan cobbler was amazing and a must try.

Oh. My. Gosh. CRAZY GOOD!!!! Don’t miss this place. We had the brisket, jalapeño & cheese sausage, a pork rib, and a beef rib. We also got baked potatoes- amazing! Their beans are super delicious too! Their bbq sauce is really thin but incredibly flavorful. We had no room for dessert but their cobbler looked yummy. We got a hot tip from a girl in a shop to go here for lunch (visiting from San Diego). I’m so glad we listened to her! Head over here and I promise you’ll ENJOY every bite.

A

Absolutely fabulous! The brisket is to die for! The employees know their food and are happy to get you your preferred cut of meat! Seriously some of the best food I've ever had. Also, the employees are super sweet and helpful. Also, they do offer outdoor seating on picnic tables for those who are nervous about eating in doors right now. We look forward to our next visit!

Wow we really love this place! It’s was so easy to order straight off the BBQ Pit! It was so Chuck wagon style eating with everyone sitting next to you was so cool. The beans were excellent and free. All the sides were amazing! I didn’t even get to eat salad. The Beef Ribes were the best! The brisket was awesome also the sausages were amazing! The pies were awesome they just scoop it up for you!

I love this place. The atmosphere, the food, and the service. Local to the area, so we eat here when we go to Billy Bob’s next door. The food is great and so are the desserts! Brisket and Sausage are my favorites. Ribs are great too!

Great place! We tried a variety of food: brisket, jalapeno cheddar sausage, regular sausage, pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, jalapeno and bacon mac and cheese, grilled corn, and the peach cobbler. My husband and I enjoyed all of it. The food was delicious. Cooper's provides outstanding service, and their staff is super friendly and helpful. There isn't table service. You order your meat(s) by weight when you first walk in, then choose your sides and desserts in a cafeteria-style line. They provide all you can eat bread, pickles, jalapeños, onions, barbecue sauce, and pinto beans. Drinks are self-service. Great place, very clean, terrific staff, cool decor, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

Cooper's Old Time Pit BBQ is hands down one of the best BBQ spots I’ve ever visited. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of smoked meats sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The selection is incredible – brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken, and more, all cooked to perfection. The brisket was tender and flavorful with just the right amount of smoky goodness, and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone amazing. Their famous pork chop is an absolute must-try – juicy, thick, and seasoned perfectly. The sides are just as impressive, with creamy mac and cheese, hearty beans, and fresh coleslaw complementing the meats beautifully. Don't skip the cobbler for dessert – it’s the perfect sweet ending to a savory meal. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The rustic atmosphere adds to the charm, giving you an authentic Texas BBQ vibe. If you're looking for top-tier BBQ with generous portions and great service, Cooper's is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back for more! 5 stars all the way!

"No frills, no fuss. It's all about the meat" The quote above is from the restaurant and is a perfect summary. This is the absolute best BBQ place I have ever experienced. They have a wide assortment of smoked meats (highly recommend the big pork chop), a vinegar based sauce, great sides, and a good beer selection. The beef ribs and brisket were also awesome. Come in hungry and leave completely satisfied. I cannot recommend this place enough and wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

I recently visited the coopers in college station and was very happy so I thought I would take the opportunity to visit the local one. Took the wife and we had beef ribs for the first time ever. They are very tasty recommend trying them if you never have. The brisket is always the bomb. And my favorite dessert pecan cobbler.

A
Amir Sardar

We came here on a Sunday afternoon prior to heading to the stockyards, When you enter, you pass the BBQ pit where you make your selections. As stated in earlier reviews, this place is pricey but I think it is the "tourist factor". It is pretty casual as you get in line for your meats and your sides. They cut up your meets and hand them to you in wax paper. You then grab a seat at one of the tables. Over all, I thought the BBQ was OK. We had the Brisket, Chicken, Turkey, Pork Ribs, and Beef Ribs. We got to taste quite a few meats because we had a large party, The sides with were OK as well. I would not recommend the Mac and Cheese with Bacon. The regular Mac and Cheese was better. I don't think I would come again, I would recommend eating at another BBQ place both for the flavor and price before I went to the Stockyards for a visit.

I learned about this place when my husband and I first visited Llano early in our marriage. We came to camp and lasted one night before we decided it was too hot and got a hotel for the rest of our stay. We brought this bbq home our second night and fell in love. I was happy to see there is another that is closer to me in Ft Worth. It is just as good, with a great atmosphere and workers who are both knowledgeable and courteous.

Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que is fantastic! The meat is incredibly tender and full of flavor, with that authentic Texas BBQ taste. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the quality speaks for itself. Definitely one of the best BBQ spots—highly recommended!

Very good BBQ joint with the traditional pay by the pound concept. The brisket was a little tough but tasty. The ribs were very lightly seasoned but had a great flavor. The pecan pie was right on point. All food comes with beans, pickles, bread & onions that you can help yourself to. I liked it a lot and would go back.

Barbecue is very authentic. Everyone is so pleasant here. Last time, I was here was five years ago but, nothing changed in the matter of great food and people all over the place enjoying themselves and the food.

This is my absolute top place for bbq. No one does it better than Texas, and no one does Texas pit bbq better than Cooper's. Get the brisket and get it dipped. Salty, savory beauty with perfectly rendered fat. The Jalapeño sausage and pulled pork are excellent as well. No need for sauce here. Cole slaw, potato salad and jalapeño Mac n cheese are all top notch. You can't beat the blackberry cobbler either. And to top it off, all the long tables and benches, and the outdoor seating just brings home that Texas ranch feel. I miss having this so close to me. Don't change a thing!

Antonio Herrera

Food is tasty, I bought brisket, beef ribs, sausage and cheese, regular sausage, mac and cheese, peach cobbler and Mac and cheese with bacon. Beans are good and come as a complimentary side. Bread, onions, pickles and water are also complimentary. The only reason I give it a 4 on the food is because brisket and beef ribs are way too salty for my taste, but they are still edible tho. I would add more pepper and less salt, but is just me.

Yao Fei
Yao Fei

The beef rib is the a must try! Juicy, tender, and perfect balance of smoke and flavor. The atmosphere is very interesting too- starting from order the meat from a giant warmer/oven, pick your sides and dessert, and the waiter will hand you a piece of paper as your plate. Self serving soup, onion and pickles. Eating area with college style tables, signs, pictures… I see a few parties over 15 gatherings together eating and laughing, and waiters walking by with smiles to clean the tables. I can feel the free spirit in both the food and the environment. Will definitely come again!

The best experience of typical Texan food. There may be better places out there, but this restaurant is true Texas style.

We visited Coopers for food before going to Billy Bob’s on Friday night. You walk into the restaurant and are greeted with a grill full of meat and pick out what you want. You then move into the next room where people weigh and prepare your food, as well as choose any additions that you want (like cheese, salads, sides and toppings for the baked potatoes). My partner LOVES BBQ so went a little overboard with the order. We had a pork chop, sirloin steak, ribs, sausage and the chopped beef baked potato. We also grabbed a beer each and the total cost came to $140. Once you have paid you go and find a seat at the giant communal tables. Everything that we ordered was delicious. My other half is still talking about the pork chop (best pork chop has ever had) and it is likely we will revisit before we leave Fort Worth. I really enjoyed the baked potato and liked that they had taken the time to season the skin of the potato itself, really tasty. Would definitely recommend this spot and will visit again.

We tried the brisket at Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que and it was absolutely amazing — tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. The portion was generous, and you can really taste the care in how it’s cooked. If you’re a BBQ lover, this place is a must-visit!

Michael Benissan
Michael Benissan

The brisket at this restaurant is comfortably among the best I’ve had. Perfectly marbled and so flavorful. There was the option for leaner cuts of brisket also and of course a variety of other meats. I thought the Mac-n-cheese and green beans sides were just okay, although a member of my party really enjoyed them, so it may come down to personal preferences. That being said, I’m definitely visiting again whenever I’m in the area.

Beef rib was a bit salty and dry, brisket was pretty nice but had a lot of fat on it. The star was the cherry cobbler, I would have been fine just having the cobbler alone.

N

We wanted BBQ and Cooper's did not disappoint, as far as meat goes. There were 8 in our group. Seating is perfect (barn style) for large gatherings. You enter and then pick the meats you want from the pit. Then you go down the line and select any sides. I tasted the brisket and ribeye, found both to be extremely tasty and perfectly cooked. Others in our party had ribs (beef and pork, no complaints) and chicken (told it was a little dry). We had a baked potato, found it to be just right (not too overcooked). Surprised by how bad the mac & cheese was, that is a BBQ staple that missed its mark entirely. Ice cold beer in frosty mug really hit the spot.

N
Nathan Miller

The best pork chop I've ever had. Great joint, a bit expensive. Free bread, free beans, free jalapenos. The cobbler tasted almost indistinguishable from the mac & cheese. Maybe they get cooked together in an oven, I don't know, but they taste the same.

J
Jesus Estebane

Coopers Old time bar-B- que was overall pretty descent brisket. It was a little dry, but then again, it was later in the day. The sides however where good, and so was the service. I had the mac and chesse with jalapeños, pecan pie, baked beans, and sausage. They were good. To add, the atmosphere was very cowboy like. The location is right across the street from the coliseum, which is great if you want to watch a rodeo after eating. Overall, it's pretty good. i would take my friends here.

R
Ryan Thomas

Famous classic counter service BBQ joint that is great for a large group. They lean into the tourist trap vibe by selling branded merchandise and expensive brisket. Make no mistake, the food is tasty, but it will cost you. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault

r

One of the best bbq places in Texas. A lil pricey but you get what you paid for here. Great food and free beans was amazing. Bbq sauce to me was ok. Right across Billy Bob's Texas and walking distance to the stockyards. Huge parking lot. Better than Riskys bbq just lil more. Riskys is good as well. Plenty of room too sit and outside sitting as well. Llano room looks like a private room to rent out for your company or private functions. Let the taste testing begin.

J
Jorge Mata

This is my second time visiting this place (the first time was 5–6 years ago, since I don’t go to Fort Worth that often). The food is great and the prices are a little on the costly side, though I was aware of that; customer service is good too. The environment could be improved, though. Last time I went there, I seem to remember there being country music in the background; this time I could only hear other customers’ chatter.

V
Virgil Emery

It’s average BBQ at a fine dining price. It’s good but for 2 people it’s over $100 and the service is nonexistent because you serve yourself. The guy at the BBQ put wash great but the girl at the cash register has a poor attitude at best

O
Orpaz Troper

The food was really good. I ordered brisket without fat and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was soft and full of flavor. The place was really clean and had nice air conditioning. The drinks were great. I ordered Red Creme Soda and it was really good. The price was a little bit high but I think it was worth it. The price was the only thing for why I rated it 4 out 5 stars.

B
Brian Polley

When you stop by, get the brisket! Around $40 for two people, and only one of us had meat! It's a little high, but the atmosphere and flavor are worth it!

C
Cristina Alvarado

You get a view of the meat while you order. Very accommodating of how much you want and what type of cuts. They have sides you can add on but the beans are complimentary. A lot of seating available. As far as food goes, it was very good but not one of my favorites. ( I’ve been to many BBQ places and my father BBQ’d every weekend growing up. Not an expert by any means just eaten a lot of BBQ 😉🤣) The lean brisket didn’t have a smoke ring and it was a little dry. The beef rib was tender and the seasoning on it was good. We LOVED the pork loin and sausage! Turkey was ok, had a thick piece of fat on it and it was a little dry. Overall pretty satisfied. The service was great! Workers very friendly. We would go back and try it again.

Good brisket, great sides, fun place. The brisket was tender and juicy. The sausage had wonderful flavor. The pinto beans were a top 3 of my life. Incredible. The pecan and peach cobblers were absurdly tasty!! Expensive but it was an easy walk from the Stockyards. The ordering flow was different as you order meats by the pound first, then see the sides. This was our first time so we quickly adapted.

We rented out the Llano room for a rehearsal dinner. The food was great, the staff was great. Our guest had a wonderful time. The only negative thing I have to comment is when I reserved the room I paid 650.00 non refundable deposit, which I had no problem with; I completely understood that if we canceled we did not get the money back. Where the issue was, I wrongly assumed it would be like other deposits and would be credited toward the final bill. When I inquired about it I was told that no, it was to reserve the room and then I still had to paid 495.00 for the room charge the day of the event. Their paperwork does not explain that clearly. It should be listed as 1200.00 for the room with 650 paid at booking and the remaining due at the time of the event. I just felt it was a bit misleading. I guess I should not have assumed so lesson learned get everything clarified. UPDATE I just want to add that the manager personally called me and made this right. He acknowledged I should not have been charged the additional 495.00 and promptly refunded the money. I JUST WANT TO ADD THAT EVEN WITH THE CONFUSION I STRONGLY RECOMMEND COOPERS FOR ANY EVENT.

Coopers is right across the little street from Billy Bob's. Parking is $10 for the day . ( like 24 hour day ). Way cheaper than most others that can go up to $29 . When you enter Coopers , there is a large long grill with all their bar b que and you tell them what you want . They cut it how thick or whatever . Beef, pork, chicken . Everything is separately priced and packaged . So Cole slaw, potatoes salad, cobbler - in its own little container . Once you check out , there is a large vat of beans , sides of pickles and bread . On the tables in gallon plastic jars are jalapenos for your convenience . Seating is bench style . Long and low so you have to be able to swing your legs over them lol . Fountain drinks and tea are self serve . This is a great place to meet before or after you visit the stockyards . Expect to pay between $20 to $30 a person.

Haven’t quite nailed the smoke flavor in the brisket but they are better than most. Brisket was exceptionally moist and really good. Sausage was good. Jalepeno bacon Mac and cheese was freaking spectacular!! Wife said the beans were great. The people that work there were very friendly and seemed to genuinely be happy they were there. I would rank this in my top five (thus far) in Texas. Highly recommended!! Be sure to sell unneeded body parts before you go because it does cost an arm and a leg.

Coopers BBQ! This place is a cafeteria style bbq pit. Walking in I was greeted by the nicest guy (Zach) who walked me through the process (first time). I selected my meats then I went and had it weighed before grabbing some mac and cheese and had options for a lot of stuff including cobblers! They even have complimentary beans so get some of those. The Food: The best thing I had was the beef rib! Very good flavor and the piece I got was very tender. The jalapeno sausage was good too! The brisket wasnt my favorite and left a bit more to be desired however in Texas the standard for BBQ is very high and Ive had a lot of great brisket. I just thought it needed a bit more flavor but the texture was good. The pinto beans were 4/5, the jalapeno mac was 4/5 too! Which isnt bad at all. The BBQ sauce was runny and didnt have much to add to the meats which was a bummer. Maybe its just my preference but as far as I know its one option for bbq sauce. The highlight was definitely the staff. Zach left a great first impression. All in all its a great place to take the kids and family but its not on my top 5 bbq places. Expect a bit of sticker shock when you get to the register too. The patio is awesome and there is plenty of parking too!

We stopped here by chance, and I'm glad we tried it. The half chicken was seasoned and smoked perfectly. The chopped beef sandwich was also a winner. They offer free beans, and they are also seasoned and tasty. I found the sausage tasty but tough. The ribs were tender but slightly undercooked, in my opinion. The sauce was horrible and extremely watery. I would definitely recommend this place, but skip the sauce.

Cooper’s Old Time Pit Barbecue in Fort Worth, TX, stands out as my all-time favorite destination for authentic Texas barbecue. As a frequent visitor, making the trip at least twice a month, I can confidently say that Cooper’s consistently delivers a remarkable dining experience that keeps me coming back. The Pork Ribs are exceptional, embodying the essence of perfect barbecue with their rich flavor and tender texture. The Sausages, infused with cheese and jalapeños, are another standout, offering a delightful blend of smokiness and spice. Baked potatoes here are elevated with generous servings of white butter, bacon, and cheese, making them a satisfying side that complements the main dishes wonderfully. The ambiance at Cooper’s adds to its charm. The old-school, rustic seating style, reminiscent of dining on branches, creates a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. The bar is well-stocked and a great addition to the dining area. Special mentions go to Pit Boss Erick, who runs the pit with skill and passion, ensuring the meat is cooked to perfection, and Rishi at the cash counter, whose helpful and friendly demeanor adds a positive note to every visit. While Cooper’s is a bit on the pricier side, I understand the premium is for the prime location and the unique dining experience it offers. The only area for improvement would be the beef brisket, which I find to be less impressive compared to other items on the menu – it tends to be a bit dry for my taste. Overall, Cooper’s Old Time Pit Barbecue earns a solid 4 stars for its outstanding food, welcoming ambiance, and excellent service. With slight improvements to the brisket and pricing, it could easily reach the full 5 stars.

This was a really yummy barbecue place. We got the brisket and it is the best I've had so far in Texas. Their blueberry crumble was good but everything else was not as good of quality as I was expecting. The corn seemed old and the mac and cheese was saucy and flavorless. They said beans came with the meal but never offered them or gave them to us. I asked about them before we paid and she said it was too late and we had to ask for them sooner. The meat was good but probably won't come back.

Walked in and customer service was kool. The cashiers were nice and joking with us. I ordered 2 beef ribs and half chicken. I haven't had BBQ beef rib in a while so I was thankful they had it, that was a plus. Sides were mac and cheese and apple cobbler. I love apple cobbler! Super excited to eat here as I've been recommended by many of people. Needless to say, disappointed 😞. Half chicken was dry. I watched them pull it off the pit so this one was over cooked for sure. You can't fool me when it comes to chicken... No moisture coming out of this chicken whatsoever so I've known its been sitting there for a while. So I put BBQ sauce on it. Didn't want to tbh because the sauce was liquid and had no thickness to it at all. BBQ sauce does not have to be extremely thick but it also should not look like dark red water.. Beef ribs had a lil more moisture to it but also that vinegar, lemon pepper taste. Now, I appreciate lemon pepper as the next man would but this dry rub was cleary too much on this guy. Almost as if it was drenched in it 🤔. That vinegar, lemon pepper wouldn't have been my first choice (if this was lemon pepper) as the rub but I know why it's popular. You guys just put waaay too much on it and then just to back door and use the same thing for the chicken. I won't even touch to review the mac and cheese, I've had better. Now the apple cobbler, good gosh!!!!! That was super delicious 😋. I'm talking sweet, crispy crust and the perfect cobbler texture. I got the large size and I'm glad I did. I regret that I didn't take any to go 😕. Guys, this place was just a fair ok. Maybe a second visit I can feel a little better about it if at least I'm not served dry chicken. That God tier apple cobbler and customer service sustained this review. 3 stars. Oh and I think the prices are really at a good price. Good job on that.

This place is huge, filled with picnic tables and is spacious. You’ll order as you come in and pick your side items and then pay. When I went, the ribs were charged by the pound (interesting and expensive). I was quite disappointed, my ribs were super tough/dry, the chicken was overly cooked. The brisket had way much fat part in it. The bbq sauce, honestly I don’t know if that was their bbq sauce, but it was so watery like bean soup. I think the problem was that when the food was cooked they left it in the pit for to long and it possibly dried out. The flavor was good if only I was able to enjoy it.

A
A Chizel

Not only is there one BBQ sauce, but it is watery. If they have options for BBQ sauce, not only for the flavor, but an option that works for their menu items this place would be much better. The BBQ sauce very runny, which is good for dipping meat, but it doesn’t work on Mac and cheese unless you want soup. You also can’t use it on your sandwich unless you want it completely soggy. The actual BBQ is great, but the beef sandwich is a mix of leftover meats that is not very good to me. The baked beans are also great, and Mac and cheese is good. I wouldn’t recommend this place as it is currently.

We were very excited to try out Coopers due to its close proximity to us. Overall the staff was nice enough, although it was our first time and the process could have been explained better. We ordered sliced brisket, sausage, and ribs. Overall passable but very salty. The ribs weren't fall off the bone and we had so much of just ribs left over between 5 people. The Mac and cheese and potato salad were good but the BBQ sauce was quite watery. There's a lot of seating for large parties and even a large room to be reserved. Overall not high on my list of places to go back to in the stockyards area.

Cold beer, good atmosphere, and nice people. The BBQ is lacking big time for Texas BBQ. This is more like a BBQ joint that tourists go to in order to get what they think is good Texas BBQ. The beef rib is tougher than it should be and dry. Overall flavor of the beef rib is mediocre. The brisket is also dry but had good flavor. The pork ribs are ok but also dry. The BBQ sauce is way too salty. I came at 1pm so I assumed the meats would be juicier. I am not even going to finish the beef rib.

W
Will Glause

The BBQ was decent but the brisket was way too fatty and the flavor a little lacking. They only had one guy cutting the meat on a Saturday so the line was backed out of the building. Super inefficient way to do the process. There are better BBQ options I would pass of this one.

My husband and I ate at Cooper's BBQ for the first time today. He had sliced brisket with a bun, baked potato, and pickles. I had chicken, green beans, and cole slaw. When you first walk in you choose your meat. The man serving the meats was impatient, rude, and sarcastic. Next, you go down the line to choose your sides. No one told us that beans are free self-served in the dining area. At the end of the line, you get a drink cup and pay. You're also given a white paper to use as your plate. The meat was okay, but nothing special. The bbq sauce was like water, without much flavor. The green beans and cole slaw were both yummy, but we wouldn't go back for only those 2 sides.

It’s the Stockyards, so expect it to typically be busy. The food is pretty good, what Texan doesn’t love some BBQ? For the prices, they better make it good, right? If you’re looking for delicious chicken, this is NOT the place to go. Without fail, it’s always dry and flavorless. I definitely wouldn’t call Cooper’s the best BBQ spot, but if you are in the Stockyards and not wanting to venture too far, give it a try.

Very meh. Food was okay, was cooked well and well seasoned, the BBQ sauce is terrible. Sides are very mediocre. Everything was overpriced. Draft beers were great, mugs are so cold it creates ice in your beer which we loved. Cobbler was pretty good. Most of the staff was very nice.

I spent almost 2h (!!!) driving to pick up bbq for party of 4. Google web site says they're open, their own (!) website says they are open... well: they were closed. Today Dec. 8th. Not closed on 7th, not on 9th, today Dec. 8th they decided to close and put a sign in the window. This is HORRIBLE service. You can do better, Coopers... 2h gas&time I'll never get back. Sigh... (merry Christmas, I hope closing today was worth it for Coopers)

I went to Cooper's for lunch with a group of senior citizens. The food was average and overpriced. For 3 small slices of brisket plus 2 sides the cost was $30 plus the cost of my drink. I probably wouldn't have chosen two sides if it had been clear that beans are included. Even knowing that BBQ is generally a more expensive meal, this was much higher that average. I can name 3 BBQ places in the area where I can get a 2 meat plate with 2 sides for about $25 and get enough food for a second meal. The portion size at Cooper's was just big enough for one meal. I won't be going back anytime soon.

R
Ryan Economy

Cooper is great for tourist who don't have a clue how great other BBQ places are around the DFW area. It has a cute set up but boy is the meat not that great and the BBQ "sauce" should probably get abolished. This place cost a lot too which is unfortunate, it is nice that I went with my wife so she knows to not to want to go there again. I will continuously support the parking lot for the Stockyards though!

C

Ribeye and beef ribs were very salty. Not very tender beef ribs. Sides are skippable, we got mac and cheese and beans. Bbq sauce is too watery and has alot of vinegar. Cherry and blackberry cobbler were good. Props for a very tender Ribeye tho and perfect cooking interior. The sides line forgot our pulled pork 3 different times and didnt end up getting it Overall over priced for the quality.

The food tasted good but does not taste like Texas BBQ more like Memphis. Service was strange since meat server didn't seem to know how much to cut for our group. Be careful they give to much. Brisket was very fatty and reminded us all of pot roast. Turkey was perfect and all the sides were great. Free beans and bread if you can find them they need some signs. Seating is like large picnic tables and there is plenty of light and it's not loud. $120 for 3 people.

When my husband and I were in line at Goldee’s BBQ, an older couple recommended that we try this place because there is no wait and they think bbq is better. They were locals so we gave it a try. There is definitely no line so service was quick. We went on a weekday for lunch, so I don’t know what the volume would be like during the weekend. The place is huge with plenty of seat options, all picnic table style. Each table has its own pickle jar, that was my fav. The bread wasn’t made in house, it was straight out of a bag lol. Sauces are self served. The bbq itself is average, I wouldn’t say it’s comparable or better than Goldee’s. It’s a bit better than Springcreek BBQ. Bottom line: It’s a quick fix for BBQ craving in a pinch, but wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Good pit BBQ restaurant. We went on a Monday evening and it was not too crowded. We had several different types of meat selected for 4 of us, including the pork ribs, brisket, and steak. Unfortunately I learned they do not serve fried okra or anything fried for that matter. Also, no cornbread. As for the BBQ sauces available, it seems there is just their vinegar based sauce, which is not thick, but more liquid like a vinaigrette dressing. Pinto beans, their BBQ sauce, and sliced white bread is available by the drink stations. The meats were excellent, but the lack of some traditional BBQ joint sides was disappointing. Therefore, for me, there are a few other BBQ places I would go instead of here.

The quality of the BBQ was marginal at best. If you're visiting Fort Worth/Texas there are better options and keep in mind, you're in Texas so everything "seems" far. That being said, I'd recommend Riscky's BBQ in Sundance Square or Railhead BBQ which are fairly close to the Stockyards. The brisket was somewhat dry, the jalapeno sausage was ok, etc. The BBQ sauce had too much vinegar and the prices per pound were out of line, but again it's in a tourist area so expected. The only item that was extremely good was the beans. By my house, I'd recommend Cousin's BBQ in Alliance Town Center. Ask for the "moist, sliced brisket." FYI, they are closed on Sundays. IF you want superior BBQ, go to Hutchins BBQ in McKinney, Texas. It's a drive, but you'll judge all other BBQ by their standards.

E
Ed Nadwodny

Some of the worst brisket I’ve ever eaten! Very disappointing!!! We ordered a pound of brisket but only about half of it was eatable! It had about 1/2” of burnt shell that tasted like plastic and could not be chewed! Lots of fat! Meat was dry and the bbq sauce tasted like vinegar. The only reason I gave them two stars was because the beans tasted really good and the tea was fresh. This place does not represent Texas BBQ. It’s too bad it’s located in a high traffic tourist district. I can’t recommend this place and I’ll definitely never return.

We are from Texas and were visiting Fort Worth for the weekend so we definitely had high hopes for the bbq , it being within walking distance from the stock yards , first when u order I definitely feel like the butcher guy should make better recommendations for new customers and they should have a meat plate to try a little bit variety of meats.. I ordered the chicken, jalapeño sausage, & the brisket with hopes it would be worth the price! Me and my friend both had a variety of meats, I ordered individually because that was the only option the chicken was dry and jalapeño sausage was basically chewy like jerky the only thing that was okay was my brisket, the bbq sauce was watery and the free charro beans tasted like left overs from night before, I also ordered two small sides Mac and cheese and green beans the Mac & cheese was okay and green beans were very seasoned with bacon they tasted pretty good to me, the sweet tea was also great! They also don’t have any to go plates I asked one of the guys working and he basically said there’s foil over on the table. I think they definitely should be more welcoming with customers also.

I’m very disappointed. Terry Black or Risky ‘s is a much better option for beef barbecue. Can’t smell or see the smoke it’s oven cooked very disappointed and the price for the size it’s not worth it at all disappointed too high for the price and you don’t get hardly any meat it’s a rip off these damn age how much beef cause you don’t wanna mess around with a place like Cooper’s you’re better off going to Terry Black’s I would like to post a picture, but I don’t see that as an option

Zero hospitality. The blonde at the check out was beyond rude. We were waiting in the line to come in and I had to use the bathroom and she shamed me in front of everyone. Said I couldn’t use the bathroom without paying first. We were waiting in line too but I couldn’t wait. Take your business elsewhere.

C

was very disappointed with Cooper’s BBQ. They charged me $58 for just one pound of brisket, which is extremely overpriced. For comparison, a whole packer brisket (around 11 lbs) at places like Wild Fork runs about $58, and even Walmart or Sam’s Club sell full briskets around $70–$80. Paying nearly the same price for a single pound at Cooper’s makes no sense. On top of that, the BBQ itself wasn’t impressive—the brisket tasted watered down and lacked the bold, smoky flavor you’d expect from Texas BBQ. For the cost and quality, I cannot recommend this place. There are far better BBQ spots in Texas that actually give you value for your money.

K
Kelly Stipa

Recommended by locals. Worst food we had on our vacation. The beef was like eating a salt lick. The brisket has so much fat on it. The “homemade” Mac and cheese was no way homemade. The beans-not sure what they were. No flavor. And the worst part was the bbq sauce. Tasted like watery vinegar. Best way to describe it. The Cole slaw was good. Anyway, three of us for lunch and the bill was $75. The homeless man down the street got a big meal. Hope he could eat it.

A
Alexandra Kit

What a disappointment. I’m glad it wasn’t my first Texas BBQ so I had something to compare with. Beef ribs $40/lb and it was super tough , salty with so much fat. Tourist trap, I wish I drove to Terry Black instead Only dish I can recommend is green beans

M
MoK86

What a waste of money! Either they knew they were selling bad quality food or people who are giving high rated reviews are fake accounts. The fact I spent $70 and threw about $60 in the trash is a sign. $70 for Two slices of brisket Two slices of turkey One sausage link One pork rib One beef rib One small cup of potato salad One small cup of mac n cheese Brisket was greasy and salty Turkey was dry and rubbery Jalapeño cheese sausage was dry and rubbery Pork rib dry and rubbery it taste more like beef jerky. Beef rib the most insulting trash that cost $20 for a single rib that was small as a kids fist and it was crunchy and very salty and was just full of fat. The only thing that was good was the cheapest item and it was the jalapeño Mac n cheese. Its sad that I could of just gone to cousins bbq for $25 and get an all you can eat buffet and or go to dickeys that’s right dickeys the bottom of the barrel of franchise bbq was better than this Cooper’s joint. That’s how bad it was it was just disgusting dude I threw it all away.

The best thing about this place was the free pinto beans an jalapenos. The baked potato was hard, the sausage was too you to chew and they won't give you a refund and only offer you more food that you are satisfied with to begin with. We don't recommend

J

This place is way too expensive for the food you get, we had the brisket and beef rib, they were not good. It doesn't taste like Texas BBQ, it tastes like some northern food. BBQ sauce was runny , the meat was dry and had too much salt. The only things that were good were the baked beans and the baked potato. If your thinking about going there dont waste your money.

Confusing for first time visit. The food was so dry and what they call bbq sauce is classically orange vinegar. We had chicken, brisket, sirloin and smoke sausage. The highlight of the entire meal was the beans you serve yourself.

I ordered a loaded baker and jalapeno cheddar sausage. The potato was hard, the sausage was so hard that you couldn't chew it enough to even swallow it. Beer was cold, so that's a plus. The best part was the free beans and the free hot jalapenos. When I asked for a refund, I was told couldn't have one but they could get me something else 🙄. The employees were very friendly. Will not be returning to this Establishment.

Actually horrible, food was cold even though i just ordered. dry as hell and my corn??? i could brush my fork through it. payed 50 dollars for my food to be cold, rough, DRY, and barely any seasoning. My mac and cheese didn’t even taste like mac and cheese it tasted like plain FLOUR not even good, and the barbecue sauce is SOUR, the pork ribs were legit so rough and dry, and the beef ribs were WAY too salty.. i am a person who loves salt more than the normal person and i can say it was WAY too salty it’s actually disgusting. for a family of 5 it came out to almost 400 dollars. do NOT come here, you’re just going to throw your money away.

J

Was highly disappointed with the food. Beef rib was incredibly salty, I couldn’t even eat it. the brisket was DRY. Like, tough and chewy dry. The sausage was good. The pulled pork was sloppy wet in whatever sauce they have it in, and it was no good. Mac n cheese was just normal along with the green beans. There are a number of much better bbq spots, where you can get this amount of food for $20-30 cheaper, I would suggest doing that. Customer service was good.

Chopped "brisket".... I slopped beef sandwich is absolutely 100% disgusting and so is the water like bbq sauce. Several good BBQ sandwiches in the area. Im super sad I just spent $40 on 2 slopped beef sandwiches a corn and a drink. Absolutely disgusting food.

I ordered the pork ribs with the twice baked potato casserole and cornbread. The total was $55. This is by far the worst bbq I have ever had. This was my first time visiting and there was no hospitality. The meat was very mid and their BBQ sauce tastes like a bottle of vinegar. The potato casserole was the best thing on my plate. The ribs and cornbread were dry. I was visiting from Dallas and I’ve had Terry Blacks (Delicious), but I wanted to try something new. BIG mistake. I threw the entire plate away and didn’t eat anything. When I went to talk to the team about it, I was just told that “Texas style BBQ is all about the sauce,” although the sauce was disgusting! I guess I was expecting the team to make it right like at least offer me something else but to each its own. Eat here at your own risk.

Absolutely terrible BBQ. Brisket was burned. Ribs were tough as jerky. The best items there were the free pinto beans and the iced tea. Definitely a tourist trap. $67.00 for subpar food. Was offered more BBQ instead of a refund.
