Great place! Cool place to hangout inside or outside. Food was fantastic. The steak frites was delicious. Great quality steak. Drinks were also very good and the service was excellent
Great place to enjoy foods & drinks. The staffs are wonderful. Highly recommend.
The steak frites was delicious!!! Our server was Jordon and she did amazing. She was super busy on a friday night but still gave us fantastic service. But seriously. The steak frites is amazing.
We had dinner here on our last night in Texas on Wednesday the 24th of Feb and what a pleasure! We got seats at the bar and they were amazingly comfortable chairs! We were eating light as we had to fly out and the we split the turkey sandwich and chips! They actually brought it on two separate plates for us, already cut! It was one of the best turkey sandwhiches we have ever had! The two bartenders, (sorry, i forgot your names guys) were super helpful and quick to serve! Beer and cider was very good. The bathrooms are really nice and the decor is great! Would definitely return! Frankly, it was the best atmosphere and food combo we found on the strip.
Provender hall is a great stop when you're ready to put a little honky tonk in your taste buds. The atmosphere is as subtle as the stars at night and very welcoming. Not to mention the service was excellent. We had a sweet server named Jordan who always checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. If you're in the area stop by and give it a taste. You won't regret it. Yee haw.
I really enjoyed this place. They hosted our company dinner in November 2024 and they did a great job especially considering the size of our group and taking up both floors. Place was clean, service was good considering all the excitement and I loved their chicken and sausage gumbo!
My husband and I are staying in the stockyards for our 10th anniversary. We came in last night and were so pleased we came back for lunch today. The food is so delicious, but the staff is beyond incredible. We sat at the bar both times. Highest recommendations for service by Matt, Kelly and Cassidy. They make your visit incredible.
Came here on new years and were able to be sat right away. Served was great and the food was reasonably priced. The salad came with a bit less dressing than I’d like so ask for extra if you are very keen on it. Clean and great atmosphere!
A bit of a long wait but we were able to walk around town during the wait and was texted when table was available. Server was great and made some really good suggestions. The food was amazing! Everyone was happy.
Awesome restaurant in the heart of The Stockyards. Great selection of food and drink. Service is fast and friendly. Plenty of tables and the bar in an awesome hangout. Upstairs and downstairs seating. Get a table upstairs if you have a choice. Outdoor seating in front. Try the fried green tomatoes. Lots of wonderful cocktails. A must stop while in the area.
Went on a Wednesday and got the $5 nachos to start! Delish! Ordered the chicken fried steak and the greens and mashed potatoes did not disappoint. Favorite dish on the menu along with the shrimp and grits (GF). Grits were perfect consistency and flavorful. Came with big juicy shrimp. Matt was our server and bartender. He is rad! Service was 12/10! He made amazing recommendations. Great atmosphere. They have a to-go bar. Easy and delicious place to go to in the stockyards! We’ll be back!
our group of six stopped in here after wandering the stockyards for a bit on a lovely wednesday evening and were pleased with our excellent food and quick service, and no wait time for a table! while i cant remember her name, our server was extremely personable and delivered excellent service. if visitors are looking for an excellent cocktail, the espresso martini was easily the best ive had. and if you happen to get fries their ranch for dipping is to die for.
My wife and I had a great time here! We were looking for a nicer place for a date night without breaking the bank, and this place was perfect. Located in a beautiful part of the stockyards, it was nice to drive and walk around before and after the meal. The restaurant was clean and elegant, giving off a sort of "country front porch" vibe. We were seated immediately at our reservation time, but it also wasn't fully packed, which was nice. The staff were kind and attentive. My wife got a delicious cocktail and I got a cheap $4 beer (I rather spend my money on more food!). I got the venison tar tar for appetizer, and it was INCREDIBLE yall! It didn't taste gamey in slightest, and the sourdough was unusually delicious. Grilling the bread added something really special to the venison. For the entrees my wife ordered the Cobb Salad and I ordered the Steak Frites. The salad looked great, and my wife was satisfied. The steak was also grilled to a perfect medium rare and had a chimichurri sauce on it that worked really well with it. The only thing I have against it is that it was room temperature, as if it was sitting for a while before coming out. Unfortunate, but it was still delicious. Also, the fries here are PERFECT! We even got a side of them. Pro tip - get a side of ranch with the fries. Their home-made ranch is some of the best I've ever had. It's dill-heavy, which is the proper way to make ranch. And another pro-tip: the valet parking made life really easy. $15 to not worry about the stress of parking. We are very satisfied customers and I would gladly recommend this to anyone wanting to spend a bit more on a meal.
This place was really wonderful. There was a 30 min wait but the hostess said we could sit in the bar and it was a small table but the server/bartender was so amazing she promised it would work and it did. We had a great dinner for three. I had the redfish which was good but the real show stopper was the huge beef rib for two but it really could feed four. You'll have to see the picture because you just can't describe how huge and amazing this dish was. It was smokey and tender and reminded me of slow cooked BBQ beef but without the sauce. So amazing. I will forever remember my first time at the Stockyards. The service was so perfect and she was so nice and pleasant every time she checked on us and anticipated our needs before we could ask. You must try this place if you're looking for some fine Texas surf or turf.
The second we came here the lady at the front waved at us and had a great attitude which i look for in places like these. 😁 We ordered PH burger’s and it was bomb the fries were awesome and everyone was nice! I will definitely come back!! The hostess and the server were amazing.
We enjoyed our lunch at Provender Hall! We especially enjoyed the gluten free cornbread! The bread itself wasn't too sweet and the whipped honey butter made it the perfect appetizer! The entrees were solid. The salads were a bit bland, but definitely enjoyable. The service was kind and quick! The atmosphere is very cowboy cozy and provides a great space for a meal. If you're headed here to watch the cattle run, it's just a couple stores down making it a very convenient location! I would be back next time I visit.
My family and I stopped to eat here. We had the slow smoked rib for 2, the grilled trout and a burger. We did had to wait for about half hour to be seated because it was busy. The smoked rib was delicious. The portion size was great. The trout had very good flavor, not too big of a fan of the black eye peas that came with the trout.
The food was decent, although not remarkably impressive. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the fried green tomatoes appetizer. As for our main courses, my wife ordered the chicken fried steak, while I chose the steak frites. We agreed that, while satisfactory, both our meals could have benefited from a bit more seasoning. Typically, a place like this would earn a 4-star rating from me. However, taking into account the premium pricing, I believe the cost doesn't quite align with the overall quality of the food. Should we choose to revisit, our focus would likely be on sampling their appetizers, which seem to be their strong suit.
Fire spot, fire service, had some pork rinds that were pretty good. For the entree my girlfriend got a steak and I got a chicken fried steak. The steak was probably the best steak I've ever had, and the fries she got were crispy and seasoned to perfection. My food however was sub par. The fry on the chicken wasn't crispy, the gravy tasted like it came out of a powder packet, and the potatoes were pretty bland.. overall for about 80 dollars I'm not at a massive loss but I do feel that the food didn't meet the standard that I would assume based off the cost and presentation.
My family went here while exploring the stockyards and were disappointed. The price tag does not match the food. The wait staff are very pleasant and the restaurant itself is very pretty but the food is underwhelming. I’d be embarrassed to serve that food to my guests in my home much less charge the price they did. The $23 salad I got is comparable to gas station salad. I’m used to high price tags where I live so the price didn’t concern me too much until I saw what I was served. I also had a taste of my grandfathers margarita and it was undrinkable and tasted just cheap tequila. Though the staff and atmosphere is wonderful I would honestly just go to shake shack next door when I go back to the stockyards.
I should preface this review by saying that perhaps my expectations were a bit high after reading the other glowing reviews and being dazzled by the great photography, copy, and graphic design on their website. Provender Hall is smack dab in the middle of Cowtown. Right on the edge of Mule Alley. Directly across from the cattle exchange. It was an extremely busy Saturday night and even though I requested a quiet seating arrangement for my 2-top party in my reservation, they sat us right next to the front door. There is a bar right inside the front door where drunk cowboys and trains of bachelorette parties stumble in loudly for the next stop on their bar crawl. I love a good bar crawl, but It was less than romantic. I was, admittedly, out of my element. Perhaps I should have known better. There was a call out for the Steak Frites on the menu, so I thought “when in Rome”. I ordered my steak rare, and it was delivered as promised, but I found myself underwhelmed. The steak was pre-cut and I don’t like it when steak is precut for me. I did enjoy the chimichurri paired with the steak. The fries were standard. I was expecting to be blown away, but instead I found myself a bit disappointed. I did not understand the call out. My experience still was better than my wife’s. She ordered the shrimp and grits. What was set in front of her was the most confusing implementation of shrimp and grits we’d ever seen. The shrimp, whole peeled shrimp was unflavored and rubbery. It seemed like they did not see the grill at all. The grits were mired in some pooled broth. She barely touched her food and she loves shrimp and grits. I don’t know what is going on with this dish, but to be frank, it needs to go back to the drawing board. The drinks were tasty, but the portions were very small for the price. In the end, for the Steak & Shrimp plus one drink each we were on the hook for around $100. Ouch. In my opinion, this value was not reflected. Unfortunately we won’t be back but maybe this place is more “up your alley”.
I usually don’t come do bad reviews because I’m only experiencing a snapshot and everyone has a bad day. Also, let me preface that I do not expect my waiter/waitress to bend over backwards for me. The experience today just wasn’t good and think this is an easy teaching moment. My family and I were seated and the hostess said our server would be over in a minute to take our drink order. So, we waited and waited, but no one ever came. We kept saying “let’s wait 5 more mins” and then “let’s wait 5 more”. Then I see the hostess that sat us, walk around the corner, take a peek at us (we were the only people in the outdoor section), and then walked away. Finally, we just had to leave. If the restaurant had been busy, I would have understood but there were tons of open tables. More communication would have been appreciated. Even if the waiter/waitress just popped over to tell us she was backed up but knew we were there. Food looked delicious and I would love to try this place again!
I'll start by saying that this is from the perspective of someone who's worked in food service for 10+ years.. I came here by myself early Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. The wait to be helped was not very long but when i put in my order I requested the side of fries that came with the meal be brought out before the steak as I assumed the steak would take a bit to cook and I was very hungry. The bartender waiting on me assured me this request was doable but after sitting there for a while everything was brought out at once. I had ordered the NY strip MED rare and when it came out it was OVER medium, relatively thin, and sparsely seasoned. Some bits of the steak were Waaaay too salty while some bites tasted like nothing but the char from the grill. I was also served the food with NO silverware. The price for this entree was $60. Needless to say I was sorely disappointed as the quality of the food and service did not at all reflect the price or live up to my expectations. I don't expect to get "special" treatment in anyway since I know that 1 person doesn't require that much attention (and to be fair the bartender offered to have it sent back) but it was ABSOLUTELY NOT worth the $67 tab. Had I come in with friends or family and have that check be higher, I would consider it a waste of time, money, and energy. Especially in an area like the stockyards where you have to factor in the parking expenses and traffic getting there. If anyone reads this, I wouldn't expect too much. Especially since there are 20 other restaurants in this area to choose from. This review may seem petty, but expecting the staff to adhere to high standards should be the bare minimum for a restaurant that charges this much.
