Opinions de Sweet Honey Dessert Foster City
I stumbled upon this cozy little dessert place and I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the desserts are absolutely delicious. The menu has a variety of options to satisfy any sweet tooth, and everything is made fresh in-house. I highly recommend trying their signature dessert - it's heavenly! The staff is friendly and attentive, making for a truly enjoyable experience. I can't wait to come back and indulge in more of their delightful treats
A traditional Taiwanese style dessert shop with some of the friendliest staff and the best desserts. I love ordering their mango sago which can be paired with ice cream and other toppings. They also serve decent milk tea, although coming for the desserts might be the better call. The space is well-lit with plenty of tables. Even if it appears full, most times, there's a line of people ordering to go.
Update: 2023 We have visited this place several times with friends. If you like dessert on the less sweeter side, this is the perfect place for you to try out East Asian desserts. The ladies who work there now are friendly and knowledgeable on their items! Mango pudding was a hit with the kids. The sago was also good. The durian pudding had a pretty strong taste of the fruit and didn't really like the texture of the dish. What threw us off was when we ordered 3 dishes, the waitress said we had to order one more to make $25 since it's $5 min for each guest. We were three adult and 2 kids (8 +3 year olds). We didn't see the sign anywhere. So we ended up ordering a coconut drink but it was pretty bland.
There's a number of Taiwanese dessert chains these days including Meets Fresh. We now have a more mom & pop shop establishment in Foster City. Sweethoney seems to be new to the mix but absolutely necessary in this plaza. Didn't checkout more than the coconut milk jelly as takeout. Oh my god, this thing is actually a coconut. It comes out in a carved, hollowed out coconut with its flesh ground and mixed in with milk and jelly. Absolutely delicious. If you're even remotely enjoy coconut flavor, this is it. Will return to check out more things.
I have been to a lot of late night dessert places. We love Sweet Honey Dessert in every location. As I have also tried one in Daly City and Mountain View. Clean , fresh and not too sweet. My fave is the mango and black sticky rice with taro on a bed of snow cream. The souffles are worth the wait as it takes 20 min or so to prepare. It is a bit far from home but it is well worth the trip.
We have been here many times for black seasme soup.
I love sweet honey desserts and am so glad it finally opened up a store in Foster City. Good taste, good service and well decorated.
• Durian with vanilla frosty and black rice: OMG. MIND BLOWING. The vanilla frosty has a real milky vanilla aroma and the crispness is magic! I've not felt this mind blown since discovering bingsu. It matched really well with the durian and black rice. • Walnut sesame with 汤圆: Yummy! The walnut has deep and rich flavor. The sesame paste is decent. The mochi balls are seriously chewy and oozing with decadent sesame. • Mango pomelo sago: tasteless and sour. • Mochi balls with peanut and sesame drizzle: the mochi is done very well. It's dipped in this ridiculously addictive caramel sauce. So good Service: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ eh. We bought $14.90 of food and they told us to pay in cash which we didn't have. Only $15 and up for card, which is ridiculous. But at least they had hot tea.

Our go-to spot for Chinese deserts. Really great. Love their sesame paste and red bean soup and mochi balls.
The red bean soup has a special citrus-like fragrance to it! Highly recommended. Most items are vegan except things that aren't. Things that aren't vegan: things with coconut milk (contains dairy), walnut and sesame soup contain dairy.

I’ve had Sweethoney Dessert years ago when they had a store in Dublin. It was my first time trying the one in Foster City. There was only one other table present when we arrived so our stuff came out rather quickly after ordering. The server was very friendly too. Since we were not really hungry, we just had snacks, a drink and a dessert. The snacks were not bad, but the Thai curry fish balls were too pricey. 8 small fish balls for $8 - $1 for one small fish ball was too much. I think $6 would have been more than enough, but guess we’d have to blame inflation. 5 wings for $10 was also expensive, but at least they were much bigger. Both were a little spicy, which I liked. The purple yam sago milk was okay. I liked that it was not very sweet, but it was a bit simple for me. That’s okay since my wife ordered it. I really wanted the mango pomelo sago tofu pudding. The pomelo was tart and the tofu pudding silky. There was mango, but the flavor was weak. If it had better mango, then I would have completely satisfied with the item. This wasn’t a meal, and it ended up at $37 pre-tip. Think it would have been $30 more to have a satisfying meal for two. I give 3.5 stars, but rounded up to 4 based on its fast food arrival and friendly service.
Dessert was nice, not too sweet. I was expecting a bit more fruit for the price. It kind of felt like a can was opened then throw on sample fruit bites. Pommelo was bitter, perhaps serve in-season fruits. Service was nice tho.
Sweethoney Dessert in Foster City offers a sweet retreat for fans of Asian-style confections, especially those drawn to Hong Kong-style recipes. The menu leans heavily into fruit-forward creations like mango pomelo sago and coconut milk pudding, with textures ranging from chilled jelly to smooth herbal soups. Many of the desserts are freshly made in-store, and presentation is thoughtful—perfect for sharing or photo-worthy moments. The café feels cozy but modern, with seating best suited for small groups or solo visits. Peak hours can get busy, especially after dinner, so ordering ahead or visiting mid-afternoon tends to be easier. While service is usually efficient, staff interaction is minimal and seating turnover happens fast. Parking is shared with neighboring businesses, and restrooms are available only outside the café in the plaza. Pets aren’t allowed indoors due to health codes, but leashed dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables. If you’re looking to enjoy the desserts picnic-style, nearby parks like Marlin or Boothbay are within a short drive. Overall, Sweethoney strikes a nice balance between traditional flavors and clean, accessible presentation—earning a solid 4/5 rating.
Great HK desserts store with a variety of dishes. I and my son are quite in love with the Vanilla Frost series. The fruit smoothie is good, but a bit less ice compared to other stores. The coconut grass jelly is basically just grass jelly putting in coconut milk.
Perfect place to grab some Chinese desserts before/after shopping at 99 Ranch. Interior design is nice and clean. The menu is very extensive and there are photos of every single dessert available (though some look like it’s CGI). We ordered the papaya snow fungus soup and the mango tofu. Portions were smaller than we expected. Quality of the ingredients was good, though the papaya snow fungus was a little too sweet and the mango tofu a little too sour. Will come back to try some of the other items!
Came in during the afternoon, only 1 person working. Must be though. The mango with ice cream cup was so difficult to open without spilling because it was filled so full. And the strawberry blueberry drink needed more sugar, a bit on the sour side. I feel for the owners being busy and short handed though
I wanted just plain bubble milk tea but they didn't have it, so I got a coconut grass jelly and matcha red bean drink instead. The coconut grass jelly was better than the matcha drink. I felt like the matcha tasted a little powdery.
Exceptionally clean, sparkly store offering beautiful, enticing, sweet drinks and equally sweet desserts. It's not the place for adding huge amounts of toppings in drinks.

Ordered one snack and mango pomelo sago drink, paid over $20. Despite the unsatisfactory service, the drink was good. We ordered takeout first but after waiting I decided to try one bite first before heading out. The owner told us we weren’t supposed to have a table bc we ordered for takeout. It wasn’t during busy hours and there were plenty empty tables. we didn’t ask for any service except one more napkin. speechless.😅

that’s right, that’s all the papaya in a $10 dessert. Can fit them all in a spoon. And when I asked the owner, she said “well that’s how it is, because the juice is made from papaya too”. So I tasted it and it just tasted like granulated sugar, super faint taste of papaya. And yes that’s how tiny the mango pieces are (8 pieces in total) and they are super hard and flavorless. Will never come again. Waste of money

I've gone here a couple times and I've been disappointed with their food and drinks, especially given how expensive they are. I have say their products look good enough, but the flavors are bland to slimy to flat out disgusting. There are so many better options, but it's a shame a great location is wasted.

My parents and I stopped by to purchase a drink after shopping at 99 Ranch next door. When my dad went to use the bathroom, the owner lady blocked his path and lied that it was broken. We saw other people go in and out of the bathroom so it clearly was not broken. She wouldn’t let him use it bc he didn’t personally buy a drink even though I did. It’s not only rude but probably illegal to deny a paying customer access to the bathroom, especially a senior retiree. When I asked her why she did that, she pretended not to have done that. She pretended not to speak English even though we both speak Chinese too. Btw a single fruit drink without any additives was $9.
